Hi....thought I'd join in here too.

I'm trying to be more active in this room, I don't know a lot of anything since I'm a fairly new Catholic. So I don't often reply to other threads because I feel like I have nothing important or worthy of saying and I don't like fluff posts.

Looking forward to getting to know some of you better!

I got a bounce house from a friend, and He's bringing it early so they can play outside before everyone is here and let me get things done...

Unfortunately the uggs look even worse today... Oh well, I will just have to laugh every time I wear them
Your cake turned out SUPER cute! Sounds like a fun day ahead!
Sorry about your uggs. You have a good attitude about it though!

Hi Tee-ah! Nice to see you in here. In here we mostly just chat about how life is going, so don't feel like you need to post anything "deep".

    Thanks Polly.

I forgot to mention, my name is Kate.

I just finished lunch, I'm off to work on a few things around the house. We're hoping to put our house up for sale soon and we have some little things to finish up before we list it. I'm limited since I'm home alone today and can't do much by myself.

Sorry about your Uggs, that really stinks.

Glad everything went so well!! Her cake is ADORABLE, and I noticed the 2, and was thinking "did she take this in a mirror?" But then I noticed her name spelled right. Very very cute cake. You are very talented.

Katie-I am so glad DH made it home and everything worked out for you for the party.

How was everyones weekend? DH and I went to dinner and a movie for the first time since Micah was born. IT was wonderful to have some alone time with him. AND I got to eat a hot meal and I didn't have to cut someone elses meal up for them! LOL

I am reading unPlanned (by abby johnson). It is the story of how she went from being director of planned parent hood clinic (she left Oct 2009) to joining coalition for life. It's not an inflammatory book on planned parenthood at all really. She does mention that she knows a number of people that work for planned parenthood that really have the best intentions and they are compassionate about the care for women. She has many friends at both PP and coalition for life. But she does feel that the PP organization did deceive her into believing they truly wanted to lower the number of abortions. The turning point for her was after she worked for for PP for 8 years she was asked to sit in an an abortion where the baby/fetus (as pp calls it) was 13 weeks old. She was and believed up to that point that a fetus could not feel pain before the age of viability. The doctor wanted to do an ultrasound guided abortion so that he did not pierce the uterine wall (this is MY input but how can a person even get to the level of being able to watch a baby on a screen as you kill it....how can a person be so callous). Abby was asked to hold the US probe. And what she saw on the screen changed her life completely. She saw a baby, 13 weeks old, with a beating heart, and moving around. She saw as the baby kicked, pushed, and try to wriggle away from the abortion probe. She saw as the baby was sucked away. And she fled light headed and sick to her stomach. She felt deceived by PP. It changed her life so much that she put her resignation in and left. She realized now that her fight was not to help women but to help the unborn. She understands and agree's with PP's stance on preventing unwanted pregnancies. But now she was conflicted with the abortion part. I'm only 5 chapters in and it's a great read so far. I would think it would make a great movie for Christans to see.

We had a good weekend. We were choosing paint chips for the nursery and bathroom. No decisions made, though. lol

That sounds like a good book! ETA: I just placed a hold on it from my library.

Katie - I'm glad the party was such a success! Great job!

Our weekend was uneventful until Sunday. I normally go to the 10am service, but with morning sickness I haven't been feeling up to it. MIL and FIL called at 9:37 and said "Suprise! We're on our way! We are going to go to church with you." Ummm... Lily and I were still in bed at that point. Thankfully, they were running late for the 10am, so I asked them if we could just go to the 12:00 service. So we did, and it was awesome. Toward the end I thought I might have to run out of the sanctuary and throw up, but I made it through, praise God!

Brenda - that sounds like a good book! Did she do a documentary at any point? Her story sounds familiar, but maybe it was someone else.

awww so glad God gave you grace to make it through the service.

It is a good book. I was published in 2010 so i'm not sure if a documentary has been done yet. But I DO know another story about a woman who survived an abortion as a baby and lived to tell the story. That may be a documentary.

yeah I cried like a baby when she explained that in the first chapter. My heart broke for the woman (who was crying during the abortion) and the baby. It gives me chills now thinking of it.

Brenda: They did an interview with her on a Christian radio station out here and I listened to her give an account of what you read in the book. It's so heartbreaking. I just couldn't even imagine. I would love to read the book.

Polly: so glad you made it through the service!! Hopefully the morning sickness let's up soon!

Welcome. I am soooo thankful for our local Catholic community right now, they are a dairy community and our drought has cost them their incomes and some of them are losing their dairies. We had not had rain since March, they did a prayer chain for 9 days (with a formal name to it but I forgot) and praise Jesus it rained yesterday!

I had a busy weekend so I didn't get a chance to really come in here. I saw the cake and it!. Then I read your post above and had to go back and look. Sure enough, I missed the backward 2 .

My DS2 turned 21 Sunday. I worked night shift in the ER Saturday night, came home and slept a few hours and then went to the water park with him, his gf and the twins. My husband chose to stay home b/c him & my son do not speak to each other it really infuriated me but I did my best to not let it ruin my day.

Good to see you here! Hope you come around more often.

I got saved while attending a Southern Baptist church... well, not during church, but DH and I had been going there for a while before it happened. They were my first real church home.

So I mixed up my appointment date. I thought it was today, but it was actually on Tuesday. Pregnancy brain at its finest. So it was rescheduled for this upcoming Tuesday. Going to do the NT testing. I'm a little nervous about it, but mostly excited to see Baby Bean again.

    How is everyone else doing?
