Thanks! And no I didn't ignore this...I was having a fabulous time in Cancun! So, yes I had a great week and weekend!

I met the dude my sister has gone on 4 dates with. He is such a catch!! I hope it works out.

Y'all after reading that redeeming love story I really realized (or the Lord whispered in my ear) just how harsh and hateful I am...so I'm working HARD on changning that and it is SO SO hard. I've been trying really hard the last couple of days and so far so good but boy is satan in my business.

This is SO TMI but ...whatevr...we dtd and after I told dh I loved him and he looked at me and said "do you?" Makes me tear up just thinking about it. I've been so cold and harsh that HE thinks I don't love him. I mean, he isn't perfect either and we've been so horrible to each other-not fighting but not nice. I'm so ready to change our story and I know I can only do so through Christ. *I* don't have the strength.

Anyway, sorry this was long and really TMI-ish. Just feeling good about it and our future.

I think I will get the Redeeming Love book and read it. Sadly the only "bad" part of our vacation was there was no change in the direction of my marriage. My husband is still cold, selfish and standoffish (is that even a word???) but, it doesn't really affect me anymore which I look at as a very bad sign in the future of our marriage.

Lisa, I am glad to see you worked through some trying times while I was gone. I know we tell you this all the time but...You are one strong woman! And I mean that in terms of being a wife, mother and Christian! You keep up the good work.

Amanda, I haven't had the chance to think of this until today when someone in the airport asked me about being pg with the twins but she asked what was my biggest need after the twins were born...I worried about formula, daycare, clothes, etc... but in the end, diapers were our biggest need and expense. Just a little FYI for you to prepare.

Good to know! My mom and MIL are going to start buying diapers now. Plus we use cloth, so that'll really cut down on diapering expenses.

OK girls.... let's talk about the weather. I live in Texas, it has been over 100 degrees here for 30 straight days and I feel like I am slowly but surely being baked alive! I had a new AC installed in December. I keep the thermostat set at 78 but by 5pm when it is 105 outside my house heats up to about 83 degrees and I can't get it down. So tell me...What is the temp where you live? Do you have central AC? What do you keep your thermostat set on? What is the temp of your house at 5pm?

TIA, I am also posting this in random. I am not sure if it is a problem with my unit or if it is the relentless heat wave we are having . I just know it is miserable!

I don't think its your AC. When it gets really hot like that it can be very difficult to keep the place cool. Do you have fans going also? That can help circulate the cool air.

We've been in the mid/high 90's, which with dry heat isn't terrible (coming from CA) but here in the south with the humidity it is much worse. I hate the humidity more than the heat.

posted in your other thread. Since I'm in houston living w/ the same horrible heatwave I am going to say I doubt it's your unit. It is SO hot. BUT I would go ahead and get it looked at to be sure. When mines on 78 it runs and runs. It's like it won't go down.

We live on the central coast in ca.. So no central air, we are lucky if we hit 85 during the summer, it's usually a foggy mess

I am not sure what the temp is at 5pm, but we have central air. We would not buy a house w/o it. It is going to be in the 90s and humid next week, but we don't feel it in the house. We have a ton of shade, so that helps. We set the thermostat at 74 during the day and 70 at night. I hate heat

I had the AC guy come look at it, all checks out but he thinks my intake vent should be moved. I have lived here 15 years with the intake vent in the same place. I am a little leery about moving it now. It is in the lower part of the wall in a wide open area. He wants to close it and put it in the ceiling .

I am going to hang on with the hopes it is just this miserable heat. Ughhhhh . I just want some cooler weather and a little bit of rain. The weather man said it hasn't been this hot with this long of a drought since the 1950's!

I'd get a couple more opinions-call people who will do free calls but don't call roto rooter (sp?) They are very $$$

And ours is in the ceiling? maybe that matters? idk?

    Where in texas are you?

Wichita Falls, today we set the 17th record for highs this year

That sounds like a good idea to get another opinion. Thanks!

I live in Nevada and it's been high 90's for the last 2 weeks. I have my thermostat set at 78 and it does a pretty good job at keeping it there. We were out all day today and it was set at 85 but when we got home today at 5 pm it was only 80 in the house. I do ok with the heat during the day but my big problem is going to bed in it. I can't handle it!

I agree...I feel like I am slowly baking to death. The good thing about where I live is that we usually get a good breeze around 2 or 3 pm right around this time of year. We also have a lot of thunder storms in July and August so sometimes that can cool us down.

I am right there with you...I hate the heat. I swell up! But if I set the thermostat at 74 and 70 at night my husband might freeze to death...or think he is. He has a very small window of comfort when it comes to the air conditioner. It is almost as if he gets a chill the moment he hears it go on...ugh! LOL. Talk about opposites attract.

Poor thing! And sad for you guys, too. Church is where I fill up for the week!

Dh has put the name "Cailyn" on our list of names. Reminded me of you. So, one of our girls may be Cailyn Elyse. We'll see.

Katie, I think this is the first time I actually read your girls names. I usually just admire siggy pics. I your girls names! I really like the middle names! I hope Kaelyn is feeling better and her asthma has gotten under control by now.

Amanda, I remember picking out this girls names like it was yesterday. After we had our sonogram (it was in Fort Worth about 2 hours away from our house) we stopped at a Mexican food restaurant to eat. We sat there and wrote names on napkins until we came up with them. So, each time we pass there it makes me smile remembering that is where we named the girls. I just wish I had kept those napkins.

The house is feeling cooler today. Therefore, I am feeling quite blessed!

Katie - Is she feeling any better? Poor baby!

I stayed home from church today also. Morning sickness is starting to kick my butt again. *sigh*

Speaking of names, we are toying with the idea of continuing with the initals K and C. FIL was named after his aunt KC, who went by her initials but had feminine names, FIL was named Kenneth Charles, DH is Kenneth Charles II and goes by KC. We don't want a III, but we are thinking of passing on the initials. So I am going to be looking for K and C names!

We stayed home from church today, too. I was really bummed since our pastor only has about 3 more weeks left, and I love his sermons. Anthony had an awful day of naps yesterday. This morning, he went down at 9, and I got ready for church, and we usually leave at 10, and we were all actually ready on time for once. He slept until 10:30. Probably won't go next week either as DH will be out of town. I may ask MIL to babysit DS1 who still will not stay in the nursery.

I remember reading your announcement about twins, but I totally missed that you were having two girls! Congrats!! Cailyn is a pretty name.

If we go with Cailyn, we'll have to come up with another two syllable name that has the long A sound in the beginning. We have a Nathan and a Haleigh already.

Thanks for asking about K, she's responding really well to mess as usual, praise God! Just coughing to much to be in the nursery... A new mom would freak if they saw her next to their baby, even though it's not spreadable... So I figured better to hang at home...

I'm super excited we painted our bedroom this awful color 2 years ago and have hated it ever since, just haven't dellt with it... But this weekend I totally did a makeover, I love it! I actually want to be in there now!

    Wow i'm way behind.

DeeDee Hugs on the marriage. I am glad you had fun in Cancun though. Sometimes just getting away from the house and the responsibilities of a home can really lift your spirits.

Amanda-I thought about you recently because i was talking to my friend about diapering twins. I knew you were doing cloth. I think that's such a wise thing to do with twins. At least you already know the needs and you are already use to using cloth and washing, stripping etc...You just have to double up on diapers or wash more often. My friend has twin boys and that was her biggest need to. DIapers!!! She used the BJ's brand formula and also breastfeed until the third month. So she cut down on feeding costs it was the diapers that about killed them. They had twins and an 18 month old all in diapers.

Yeah the weather here is hot but humid. I have lived in NC my whole life but have never really got use to the humidity. I'll take it in the 80's but once it gets into the 90's here the humidity spikes and it's unbearable at times. The last few years we lived by the pool. This year my mom has taken Isaiah but i've stayed home with Micah. Today is the first day we are going to the pool. Were going to see how Micah does for an hour outside.

Katie--I want to see pics of the bedroom. I love redoing rooms.
