    Polly That's awesome!!!!

So DH is on the mend. His fever broke around 9 pm last night but I told him to stay in bed today. The Lord has been good he logged into work and got a huge deal go through today. So even when he isn't in the office the Lord provided a deal today that actually is worth two days of work! Yay..so while his vacation time is docked his paycheck isn't effected. Each day he has off sometimes cuts our paycheck down some. Since part of his check is comission based.
So far the Lord has protected Isaiah and I from getting sick. Just keep us in your prayers. I had a great appointment with the Midwife today. Baby hit a growth spurt big time. I gained more this month then I have ever gained this entire pregnancy but my MW wasn't concerned because she can see that the jump matches the jump in the measurements of the baby. If I gained that much weight but the baby wasn't growing at the same rate then she would proably just caution me. There's a bill in the NC house that may make CPM's legal in this state. It's coming under review in March.
About our V day. We actually celebrated friday night. My parents took Isaiah for a few hours and DH and I stayed home. I set up a pretty table setting in front of our fireplace in the living room. Rose pettles, non-alcoholic sparkling grape juice, candels and all. Dh brought home some yummy Italian food from a local family owned restaraunt. And we just sat and had a nice quiet dinner alone. Then DH gave this prego mom a massage. We had a nice time the two of us. It was really special. Then we spent saturday doing all the things Isaiah likes to do. Parks, ice cream!! We had a great weekend. My DH combined my birthday and valentines day into one gift. He got me a laptop!!!!!!!!!!! YAY.....We've been needing one for a long time. Now I can pull the computer out of our third bedroom and transform that into a nursery.
Sorry for the book...I just had a lot to day!!! Love to all!!

Did anyone else see that the house voted YES to defund Planned parenthood. Am I the only one excited about this. Finally our tax dollars can be used to fund places that do not perform abortions but do have access for women and men to get health care. PP can stay in private donated sponsorship.

Amanda - Good blog. I agree. It is a "me" culture, all about "self". And really, if there are no moral absolutes, then everything must be acceptable with no catalyst for change. Its much easier to shout "self affirmation" than to humbly admit sin and weakness, and submit to God's authority.
And I agree with Katie. Katy Perry's story makes me sad, too.

Brenda - I did hear about that on KLOVE! I think I heard that it is not final yet, though? I might be wrong.

In other news, not good though, Obama is overturning Bush's HHS "Conscience Clause", which allowed health care professionals to opt out of giving birth control or Plan B type medications that they were morally opposed to. They will still be allowed to opt out of being involved in abortions.

My SIL (the pregnant one, not the snarky one ) is being induced this afternoon. She's at 41 weeks, but has developed high blood pressure and there was protein in her urine. She really wanted a natural birth and was preparing for that, but pre-e changes things. This is their first baby and I know they're scared and nervous. Please pray for them! Thanks!

ETA: She's only at a -1 station, too.

    Amanda, Prayers said!!!

Hope everyone is well. We had the friends fondue party this weekend. We were all having so much fun that by the time we looked at the clock it was nearly 10 pm. My inlaws were babysitting DS so we had to go get him and the rest of our friends had kids to go attend to also. But we could have stayed hanging out all night. Really. The dinner and fondue desert went over great and we played a round of the newlywed game that had us all laughing. Rudy and i won but it was all in fun. NOthing like good Christian friends.

Brenda, that sounds like so much fun! I'll try to stick to God's commandment of not coveting what's my neighbors and not be jealous I really miss having regular fellowship with Christian friends. We have a few here but it seems like everyone is so busy with their lives; nobody really takes the time to hang out.

I'm so glad you had a great time though!

I have a total prayer answered to share!!

My car broke last year. I was making turn and it make a thunk sound and the back wheel started scraping on something. Well, I ignored hit but it started sounding worse and in NC you have to get your car inspected before they'll renew your license plates on it. So since we got our tax return, we decided to take it in.

The guy called me and said he thought it was the while braking system which would be VERY expensive to fix but he had to be sure. I prayed until he called back an hour later...and it was a $50 repair!!! Fifty bucks!!! Something easy to fix lost a bolt!

I was so happy I cried!

HOW FUN!! I have been wanting to get some good friends for DH and I that we can do stuff like that. I think once we get more involved in our church and neighborhood groups it is a possibility. Sounds like so much fun though!!

Yeah I know it is sooo hard when friends are so busy. Especially in your situation where your family is so distant. DH and i made a conscious effort to get to know a new couple at church every few month. Like invite them over to dinner or coffee/desert. You never know what good friends are around the church that you just never really reached out to. Even though our church is small/medium sized there are a number of younger couples that I've never really met before. So DH and I came under conviction and started to reach out. Which is biblical to do. Edify the saints!! The 8 of us that go together this weekend though I have known at least one person in each couple since middle school. We all went ot middle, high and college together. And two of the couples just moved back to the are within 2 years. So before about 2 years ago we would all just be distant friends. Now we get to have the blessing of hanging out together. It's nice. I need to work on my SAHM Christian friends. That's something I miss too. I have a small group but we are all so busy we rarely get together without the guys. I wish I could just meet a girlfriend at the coffee shop. KWIM. I probably COULD but it's not something we regularly do.

Could that be something you could do. Just make the effort to maybe fellowship with one new couple every few months. Someone you've never reached out to before??

I have a quick prayer request. I don't know if you saw my post in Un-Med birth forum. But the state has just arrested a CPM midwife in the western part of the state. A bill is supposed to make it's way through the legislature to make CPM's legal to attend home births. Right now only CNM's are legal to attend homebirths. But most of the homebirthing midwives are CPM's in this state. They practice undercover. My midwife is a CPM and i really love and trust her. She has been doing this for like 30 some odd years. I worry that she may be next. I really hope a bill makes it was through legislature in the next few month. We had a huge turn over in this state from 100 years of 100% democrat control to now the house and senate are republican control. And some of the big medically entrenched people are out. SO maybe we have a shot of making it through. Just pray that the Lords will be done.

Last I heard last night they gave her cytotec, or something to soften her cervix, and give that over night to work. Hopefully today, my new niece will make her appearance. I was praying late in the night for her cervix to dilate and that the pain would be manageable. I'm praying today that with God's grace (both her and BIL are believers) they can get through contractions, etc., and that an unnecessary c-section would be avoided (although it may be necessary and that's ok ).

I'll keep updating when I hear things.

CPMs are illegal in my state, too, but not in MI, just over the border. (The midwife I'm in contact with is a CNM.) Praying for God's will for this bill! (Ha! I just rhymed!)
