Well girls, its been a blessed and busy week! Sometimes I wonder why God seems to be working so "slow", but on weeks like this I am amazed how much He does in such a short time (although its probably a culmination of work He has been doing for a long time, and I just couldn't see it until now).
DH went to a friend's funeral this week. A friend from back in his party days. He said the people there were all exactly the same as they were before; living for the next party/high/concert. And how did they "mourn" their friend? By doing the very things that killed him. It was a real eye opener for DH. God spoke to him in ways I couldn't find the words for. It really impacted his perspective on how God has changed him, His love and mercy, and the image that DH has been partially wanting to hang on to, and gave him a bigger understanding of eternity.
We also had lunch with friends from One Step (formerly Celebrate Recovery) on Sunday. I am so thankful for these friends. They have been through what DH and I are going through, and worse. But by God's grace, our friend has been "clean" (if that's what you call it for this) for a couple years now. He and DH are starting to build an accountability relationship, which is something DH has never really had before with someone who truly understands what he is going through. And it is really awesome for me to talk with his wife as well!
He also had Sunday off, so we were able to go to church together as a family.

And he has a job interview next Tuesday for a part time job (in addition to his full time one) that is doing something he would really enjoy, which means I could quit my part time job (that I really don't enjoy) and go back to being a full time SAHM (and concentrate on finishing the requirements for my state interpreting license).
I am humbled and grateful for all the wonderful things I've seen God doing in our lives this week!
