I know where it was coming from and that's another vent. But anyway I straight forward told him after the shock and sadness my very first heart response would be that: though the Lord does allow medical technology to be used to save a life it doesn't undermind His control and ultimate decision in the situation. If the baby was not to live then the baby was not to live regardless of the best medical technology the world has to offer. Medical technology can be used by the Lord for good yes but He is still in control. He is the giver and take of life. He created the life it is his choice to take it away. And i would never ever blame me, my husband, the midwife, our decision due to a baby that passed. There is no sin in what we are doing. Thus no guilt should follow. Thank the Lord for the time this baby is living (inutero) and thank the Lord that another life can praise him in heaven. And I was fully confident in that answer. DH had the same response He just wanted to hear it from me.
    This is good to remember.

I'm sorry your MIL is not totally supportive.

I'm having cinnamon rolls for breakfast and I'm really happy about that.

I've been reading the new Bonhoeffer biography and it is VERY good. Very readable yet detailed. I have a feeling I'll be crying by the end.

I know I'm not supposed to covet my neighbor's cinnamon rolls, but I am struggling with it.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has prayed/been praying for my and my depression and my DH recent recovery from surgery. I am doing much, much better and DH has been feeling great. So thanks to God, I am feeling more hopeful than I have in a long time.

Brenda~ Lots of hugs. I'm sorry for the disappointment you're experiencing concerning your MIL but do praise God for the agreement and unity between you and your husband.

Shannon~Praise God for your praise report. He is worthy to be praised!

Ladies, I am going through a season of dealing with some deep pain from my past and it doesn't feel good so I would appreciate prayers of strength, peace, and healing. I am grateful for this season because there are things from my past that still control my present that I was not strong enough to bear before now but God wants me to be delivered from it once and for all so I can remember my past without experiencing the pain and so I can fully experience the liberty that comes from knowing Him.

But "healing hurts" and so there are some days where I don't even want to get out of bed to face it so again prayers would be appreciated. I know that I am in the valley right now because some things just cannot be learned in the light and I will emerge from it stronger and victorious in Him!

Love and blessings to you all.

Praying for you "He gives strength to the weary, and increases the power of the weak" (Isaish 40:29).
I hope this doesn't come off incorrectly, but my reaction to this is to praise God for deeming you strong enough and worthy enough to strengthen your mind and soul through knowing this pain. I believe, as you said God protects us from emotions and memories we are not strong enough to bear. As one who has pleaded God to open my memory so that I may be free, I feel a sense of relief for you, that God is preparing you to feel this tremendous burden for just long enough for Him to shoulder it upon His cross.
I pray for your heart to be healed and you have support from those around you.

lol Thanks! It tends to work just the opposite... they freeze and seem to go in slow motion. I can't make them go fast enough. But I talked to the pastor after, and he said I should just call the church secretary and have her email me the sermon notes the night before.

Sermon notes?? Seriously??? Why has no one told me that was an option before!
Next time there is a huge list of statistics like that, I'm thinking of just making copies and handing them out. lol

My DH hand delivered roses to me at work, just as I was getting ready to go home because of a migraine. I had to leave them there though, because the smell of the baby's breath and greenery was too strong for my poor head. I hope everyone is enjoying them because I am not!

Yeah what are we doing for V day--------DH is sick in bed. Lovely.....and he's the worst for the 'man" sickness where even the slightest ache and pain he's doubled over and needs me to wait on him hand and foot. I do love being able to comfort him though.

Thank you ladies for your hugs, prayers and encouragement I praise God for each and every one of you.

I have my ups and downs; Saturday was a challenging day but Sunday and today have been better so praise God for brand new mercies every single morning.

We celebrate Valentine's Day in that we do something special for one another. It's really nothing out of the ordinary because we're always doing notes, little gifts here and there, throughout the year but we figure why not celebrate an entire day of purposefully expressing love for one another. After all it is the second greatest commandment

My DH got me (us) Mr. and Mrs. mugs as we wake up every morning to read the Word before he goes to work and drink tea. They have a word of encouragement on each about how God has to be the center of a healthy marriage. He gave that to me last week and then we exchanged gifts last night since he had to work today. He got me the cutest card from Adriel whose name was signed on it all silly and wonky lol. Then he made me a card out of notes and coupons that he had bought before; it's a BEAUTIFUL card as he added his own words and poems and little symbols to it. Then my gift was probably the second greatest (physical) gift I've ever received (the first was the hand made Mother's Day card DH made on my first Mother's Day last year). Anyway he took a picture of our wedding bands on the first page of Songs of Solomon in front of candlelight so that the rings would form heart shadows and then he blew it up to 16X20, framed it and put it above our bed I was absolutely blown away by his gesture. It was beautiful. This is the actual picture but again it's blown up poster size and framed.

I made him a card from Adriel with a string of heart paper with pictures of them two and Adriel "wrote" Dada and Adriel on it. Then I gave him a journal in which I wrote 143 reasons why I love him. Adriel and I also took pictures at JC Penny since they are free for us and I bought a mini digital frame with an alarm clock (was SO cheap on Amazon with free shipping; I was SO excited as we had a budget for gifts). It arrived this morning so I'm in the process of adding those pictures and he'll wake up to the alarm clock and the slideshow in the morning. The kewel thing is he doesn't have an alarm clock and has been using an old cell phone so this will be both useful and fun Here is a link to the pictures we took in case yall want to look:

    https://viewimages.jcpportraits.com/...=&uId=BQICBgRA

Shannon~How sweet of your DH; sorry your head is hurting and praying for your healing so that you can enjoy the flowers soon

Amanda~That was sweet of your DH; I got chocolate covered strawberries last Valentine's Day and I could not put them down

Brenda~Sorry your DH isn't feeling well. My DH just got over a cold and he is exactly the same when he's sick so I can empathize. So did you all have to call of your fondue party?

Ayles I LOVE the pictures!!!!!!! Such a cute idea. And I love the mugs idea too. Such a really good idea i'll have to jot that down for myself.

The fondue party is this weekend! We're excited. I'm making dinner to but the girls are helping bring stuff. DH has a pro espresso machine here at the house so he's in charge of the fun coffee drinks!!! Yay!!!

Well girls, its been a blessed and busy week! Sometimes I wonder why God seems to be working so "slow", but on weeks like this I am amazed how much He does in such a short time (although its probably a culmination of work He has been doing for a long time, and I just couldn't see it until now).

DH went to a friend's funeral this week. A friend from back in his party days. He said the people there were all exactly the same as they were before; living for the next party/high/concert. And how did they "mourn" their friend? By doing the very things that killed him. It was a real eye opener for DH. God spoke to him in ways I couldn't find the words for. It really impacted his perspective on how God has changed him, His love and mercy, and the image that DH has been partially wanting to hang on to, and gave him a bigger understanding of eternity.

We also had lunch with friends from One Step (formerly Celebrate Recovery) on Sunday. I am so thankful for these friends. They have been through what DH and I are going through, and worse. But by God's grace, our friend has been "clean" (if that's what you call it for this) for a couple years now. He and DH are starting to build an accountability relationship, which is something DH has never really had before with someone who truly understands what he is going through. And it is really awesome for me to talk with his wife as well!

He also had Sunday off, so we were able to go to church together as a family. And he has a job interview next Tuesday for a part time job (in addition to his full time one) that is doing something he would really enjoy, which means I could quit my part time job (that I really don't enjoy) and go back to being a full time SAHM (and concentrate on finishing the requirements for my state interpreting license).

I am humbled and grateful for all the wonderful things I've seen God doing in our lives this week!

Ayles, your pics are breath taking! Your dh is super sweet with the ring picture idea! Im sure you will treasure it!

Brenda, Hope the party goes great, can't wait to hear about it... my dh is the same way when he's sick... its actually kinda funny to think about when he is well!

Polly, that is awesome you had a great weekend! Praying the friendship with the other couple continues! It is such a blessing to have a another married couple in your life!

We had a good valentines day, sort of a 'weekend' Tristyn was really into the hearts everywhere. We really focused on how Jesus is our true valentine She and Jason actually sang at a hymn sing at our church (Our music is really contemporary on sunday mornings, but once a month they do a 'hymn sing' in the afternoon for people who really enjoy the old hymns) They sang Jesus Loves Me... it was sweet

Oh and Im blessed dh got me a new camera for valentines day, so I can't wait to get busy following my kids around snapping pics!
