No idea on the pre folds... but for not absorbing, have you tried 'stripping' them? Some times they get build up from the detergent after washing time and time again... so you 'strip' them to sort of start over. Some fabric softener got into one of my diaper washes, and they haven't been absorbing well ever since... so I have them set aside to go through the process...

    Real name's Shannon.

His surgery was very successful but he had a lot of problems with post op pain. They found 2 stones, neither one of them embedded in his ureter or kidney which is a huge blessing. They had to put a stent from his kidney to his bladder which is very uncomfortable.

He is home now and in pain, but it is finally being managed. The poor guy is scared to drink water because he's scared of peeing...because it is like passing glass and fire...but other than that he is doing well. I am at work today so I am a little worried he won't be drinking as much water as he should be, but I will nag at him over the phone.

My MIL was in near hysterics a couple of times but she did well too. I was glad she was there because DD got a fever from teething and was not able to go to daycare. God worked it out!

    Thanks for asking!

I am glad to hear that things are going well Shannon and I will pray for a speedy recovery.

I wanted to jump on here real quick and ask that you all say some prayers for my dad. He is in the ICU and they think he has bleeding on his brain. I am coming against that in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus and I ask you to join with me. Ty!

OH NO!!! Is this unexpected or has he been ill?? So sad..I'll say a prayer for him (and you you'll need the strength)..My dad was in ICU for 2 months and in the hospital another 5 when I was 13 years old. He had an abscess in his brain. We prayed for a miracle and the Lord answered. He's at 100% normal now. So I know what your going through. If I can help at all please let me know.

Shannon-I hope your DH has a speedy recovery!!!!!!!! Praying for you too!!

Ty so much everyone for your prayers and for thinking of my family! Our God that we serve is an amazing, awesome, powerful and restorative God. The bleeding in my dad's brain stopped! Please continue to pray and thank God for completely restoring and healing my father. Also, if you guys could just pray in general for me and my family as I feel we are really under attack right now. Ty!

It was pretty unexpected. My dad hasn't been in the best health (he has had two minor strokes since I was pregnant with Matthew) but I still didn't expect anything like this especially since he was just down here earlier this month. I was really upset yesterday bc when I spoke to my dad on Wednesday I had gotten off the phone to clean and before I did I had a feeling that I should talk to him as something might happen to him. I dismissed the feeling, which I now think was the Holy Spirit, and got off the phone anyway so the guilt and what ifs brought on by that were especially trying.

Apparently my dad fell on Wednesday night. My brother insisted that he go to the doctor's and they sent him to the hospital who then transferred him to another one. (I didn't find out until Thursday morning). Ty for sharing your powerful testimony. I really appreciate it!

Last night I got a bfp but I am not sure if it's viable? My lmp was right around new years, but it was light and only lasted three days. This week I have been feeling really off - almost daily headaches, and like my thyroid is running really low. Also my hydration pattern has been really really weird, like my electrolytes are totally whacked. Anyway, last night when I got out of the shower there was bright red blood on the towel, so since it's only been three weeks since my lmp I took a hpt and saw a faint line which I think would have been much darker had it been a fmu.
I'm cramping now but no further blood. Tomorrow I'm going to call the doctor to see if they can do an ultrasound - since my lmp was so strange I don't know how far along I would be and for bw would be accurate and I definitely want to call my endocrinologist.
I'm in shock, feeling nervous and a little scared. I can think of 10 reasons why we're - I'm - not ready for #2 but am praying to gracefully submit to God's will for us.

Went for bloodwork and just got the results - everything indicates it was a chemical pregnancy.
I'm quite amazed me how many emotions I've been through in the past two days.
The past couple weeks I've been pretty preoccupied and a bit stressed with work, with figuring out some logistics as our group acquires a lab that I'm basically in charge of. I feel God really used this to put a huge blockade in the train tracks and tell me to stop. To slow down. To stay focused on Him in all aspects in life.

I had some meetings today that I cancelled and took paid time off for today so I could sort all this out without having to have hushed conversations on the phone with my doc and go back and forth to lab and/or ultrasound. I usually don't stay home for feeling sick, or if I do I rearrange my work days so I get a full 30 hours in for the week. Three days ago I wouldn't have dreamed of staying home, but am glad this put things in perspective to show me work was becoming too important in my life.

Although I feel some relief, I am shocked at how quickly the thought of having a miscarriage became upsetting and am glad I had the day to come to terms with my feelings without being mixed up at work. DH and I had a good conversation about our expectations and hopes for ttc'ing our next baby. All in all, I praise God for his good will and continual guidance. Thanks girls for listening!

Lots of hugs Jenn. I'm glad you took some time off to spend with God and your DH, and just have down time to process everything. Praying peace for you.

    ALL OF THIS

I didn't realize how long it had been since I have been in this room!! Hope everyone is doing well....

Shannon: Just so you know, my DH went through this same thing a month after our DD was born. He was in the hospital for 3 days. It was awful. The stint was painful for him, but they went in and removed the kidney stone along with the stint and he was a WHOLE new person that VERY SAME DAY! Good luck. I know how awful it is that you can't just fix it...but that's what we have God for.

DH is not doing well. He had the stent removed yesterday. While the numbing stuff was in his kidney and his man parts he was OK...in some pain but OK. Once that wore off he got very sick though and started passing clots, and was in so much pain he called me at work nearly in tears. He had called the doctor and when he called back he basically said "Yeah, that can happen. You should be fine in the next day or two. Take vicodin. Go to the ER if you get a fever." Um, thanks for the advice. His doc is THE guy to go to with kidney problems but has no personality or sympathy!

DH's pain medicine finally started working after the third dose, so he couldn't go to work today. He is really out of it and I am a little worried that he's going to try to make lunch and burn the house down. He is forbidden to use appliances or anything that plugs in because he is so out of it. I called his boss and he was very nice about DH needing another day off. He sounded pretty horrified too, probably because of where much of DH's pain is located. DH didn't want to call because he was really out of it. Needless to say I didn't really want him talking to his boss while he was high.

I am getting really discouraged. I keep just praying 'Lord, help my unbelief' because it seems like there is a big old nasty dark cloud over our family. We've been dealing with his stone attacks every week for 6 months, and this surgery held a lot of hope for us but it hasn't been our saving grace so far.

I feel like I've had to be wife, mother, provider, and head of the household for months and it is getting to be too much. I literally don't know how to "give it to God" so I feel like I am being crushed.

OK, that was a huge downer. Sorry.

I'm doing ok, thanks for asking. I'm feeling kinda down (but some of that has to do with some recent church issues), but I know God is in control.

I've decided to knit or crochet (I haven't decided on a pattern yet) a newborn hat for each of the babies I've lost. It'll be good therapy for me and then a tangible reminder, too.
