Polly, it is adorable! I don't think it would be an issue, I totally won't post anything showing their stuff (I don't even really like taking those kind of pics)... But yeah the forums are set to private now.

Well, it seems like she's getting it at least a little bit, right? And that's a familiar phrase in our house, too.... "Nathan, you need to obey mommy/daddy/aunt sarah....."

Everyone was well enough to go to Church this morning so I was very happy about that. Abby's had pink eye all week and Micah had goop in his eye so I thought for sure he was getting it but he was fine in the morning!

I had a baby free afternoon as well. A little over 3 hours without any kids - I think that's the longest since Micah's been born since he won't take a bottle. We had a seminar session at Church for the nursery workers and any parents that wanted to come with a speaker about Intentional Parenting. It was great. I learned some great take away points from it.

What is up with strange dreams. I had a dream I was married to some guy. Apparently my DH never existed. Anyways this guy was leaving me for some other woman. Apparently we all worked together. But we still loved each other. What a heart breaking dream to wake up from. of course I woke up to my sweet son screaming his head off....

more bad dreams last night - dreamed my brothers were both going to die in the next 3 weeks. EEK! I hope not.

I have a raging case of PMS, and my mom and my co-teacher are neither one helping. I called off work yesterday because I had a debilitating migraine, and today all Beth could say was "I had a headache yesterday, too." Headache and migraine are NOT THE SAME. I don't know how much clearer I could have made it but she kept going on and on and on about it. I think she is just jealous because she calls off all the time, and for once, I was the one calling off. Too bad, lady!

As for my mom, she insists on arguing with me about organized religion, which she "doesn't agree with". She keeps saying how she thinks the Bible is flawed and how only God is God (meaning Jesus and the Holy Spirit are not also God), and how Jesus was just a prophet meant to teach how to be nice to each other, and that she doesn't believe he died for her sins, because "that sacrifice thing is stupid." (meaning the concept that Jesus was the ultimate and final sacrifice so we'd no longer have to sacrifice live animals to atone for our sins) ...but she still insists we are both Christians and have the same God. Oh yeah - and she keeps saying I "hop from religion to religion." I became a Christian at age 14, at the Assembly of God church. I stayed with that denomination for 9 years, then switched to Anglican. She acts like I was Buddhist, then Muslim, then Jewish, then Christian...you get the picture. She actually said today "well what are you going to do next when you get bored with this church?"

WHY does she pick these fights with me? WHY? It is all I can do not to scream or hang up on her some days.

Oh yes...and she believes in "all paths to God." What. Ever. I asked her what about the fact that Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the light. No one comes to the Father except through me." and she said that was written in the Bible and the Bible is flawed, and that actually we all get second chances through reincarnation, which we would know about if Constantine hadn't "had that part removed."

    AUGH!!!!

Dh's Great Aunt Esther died early this afternoon. She was 92. She was an amazing woman! She and her husband (who passed away 7 years ago) were missionaries to Mozambique and Haiti for 30+ years. She was really suffering the past 6 months or so and I'm so glad and grateful she is with the Lord and Uncle Ed.

Its always a bit weird to celebrate a godly person going home to Jesus, but it really is a beautiful thing!

ohmygosh Kate, that is a lot to deal with. Big hugs to you! If you don't mind me asking, what were you raised to believe and how did you come to believe what you do now? Manda is right, only the Holy Spirit can convict her of the truth. Sorry she picks fights with you about it.

MandaRae - Situations like that are a little confusing on how to feel. I am sorry for your family's loss, it sounds like she was an amazing lady and I'm sure she will be missed! On the other hand, how awesome for her to be where she is now! I can only imagine the incredible joy she is experiencing right now!

Manda: I am so sorry for your loss. What a praise you shall see her again. And the many lives her and her husband touched. How beautiful.
Kate: I totally understand that. It is very frustrating.

Manda - I am so sorry for your DH, but what a full life she led! She must have brought God's blessing to so many!

I was not raised to believe anything! At the age of 14 I began researching different beliefs...celtic paganism, buddhism, judaism, christianity...and I found myself most drawn to Judaism and Christianity. In the end, I just really believed in the Gospel. I had two friends my freshman year of high school that also set a stellar example for me as Christians, and invited me to church. I found the atmosphere so supporting, and safe...it was a true "sanctuary" for me...a safe place. After several months spent on the fence, I decided to give my heart to God. That was 10 years ago this January! The church I attended was Assembly of God, which is a very..pentecostally focused denomination. It took me a long time to figure out why, though I loved my church family, I never felt entirely fulfilled there, and it turned out it is because my beliefs and interpretations of God's word run towards the much more conservative side. After about three months' of prayer and soul-searching, I got DH's blessing to attend one of the local Anglican churches...and I am so glad I did, becuase all the pieces finally feel like they fit.

My mom used to fight me so much on the church thing. She'd ground me from youth group, or make any excuse why I couldn't go. She didn't like my Christian friends...she wanted me to hang out with the popular crowd, who were trouble if ever trouble there was. My dad, even though he's agnostic, was SO much more supportive, and I am grateful for that. I always say that just because he doesn't necessarily believe in God doesn't mean God doesn't use him for good!

The more I think about it the more I feel like the Holy Spirit does convict her, and that's why she picks these fights...she's looking for validation of her beliefs...validation I can't (and certainly will not) give her.

So im really glad that I have yet to take a stance on the spanking issue (I was totally anti co sleeping till I had babies... so Im glad I kept my mouth shut on this issue ) ... I think with some of Tristyn's behavior dh and I may be crossing this bridge soon or at least talking about trying new forms of disipline. I heard a message this morning on correcting our children and it was really good, not that is was super pro spanking, but it definatly is making me think about some things....... this mommy stuff is so hard sometimes!

hey did you guys know that "Instruction" and "Disipline" are the same word in Hebrew??? interesting huh?

    Tht is interesting!

We do spank (shepherding a child's heart method, which focuses on reconciliation) and it works really well for our son. Dd hasn't been spanked yet.

thats basically sort of how this was described... Im just at a loss... We are very consistant so I know thats not the problem, but she is just getting very mouthy towards me and its totally not ok, and she is just flat out being disobeadiant on certian things, (like not being nice to her sister or the dog).... So yeah up until this point its never been an issue we've been able to correct the behavior in other ways, but its not working now and somethings just can't keep happening...
