I wish we would get a lot of snow! VA is so weird. At the end of August it was only 70 degrees, and then a week later it was 90. The winter is exactly the same. One day it's below freexing, the next day its 60 degrees. So weird. Im hoping for a LOT of snow this year. I cant wait to take the little guy out.

I think we might go get our christmas tree this weekend So much fun! I love going to the Christmas tree farm down the road and cutting down our own tree. We already put our outside lights up before thanksgiving hahaa

I live north of the black hills on the prairie. If the Conditions are right with the up dragft from the hills we can get snow in some large amounts. There has been times in one night to get 1ft to 18 inches

It's pretty but there is a price. We usually end up losing power for a day or two. Last fall a week after bringing Jess home we got hit hard. We have a generator but can only have a few essentials plugged in so I was using the coffee pot to make Jess's bottles

After living in Idaho for many years, I have had enough of living in snow and freezing cold. Thanks. You girls can have my share!

My perfect world would have snow on Christmas week, which would melt cleanly without leaving ice. hahaha

Heidi - those look so yummy! My cousins had made some with rice krispy balls which I was tempted to do but didn't want to brave the store for the necessities I needed to make them. I didn't think they could get any better and here you go making them with Reeses. YUM!

Ugh... my freezer looks like Antarctica. I need to defrost it. Has anyone had to do this for their freezer before?

Ours is one of those one unit fridge/freezers. Its about 4' high with one door, and the freezer part of it is only like 12" wide and 6" high.

I chose number 2, very cute.

Luci did some modeling this weekend for a friend who sells Tutus. There are some one page 2 if you want to see. She loved her tutu very much. I think I will get her another one for Christmas.

Funk all day, maybe because we didn't go to church. This is a stressful time of year for me. I don't like doing all the shopping and looking at my kids rooms I don't want to get them anything anyway. I'm not a good teacher on others with less, it always comes out wrong. I sent my DH to the store with the kids to use their money for Christmas gifts and they each brought something home for themselves. Uh, that was not the plan. I guess that about sums up how clogged the lines of communication are.

We did go to the same church. It was great. I'm glad I went to the women's bible study on Monday. All the women that were there that day gave me hugs today. The members are making it welcoming and easy for us, just like our old church did.

Also, interestingly, the pastor talked quite a bit about how allowing open and unrepentant sin in a congregation in order to spare people's feelings is not loving. In fact, he said that holding people accountable should have some sting, like heat burns a hand over a flame, the pain's message saves the whole hand from being destroyed. It was certainly something to think about given the situation with my in-laws.

Still can't shake the sadness and homesick feeling though. But I am glad we found this church, it was a bright spot in my day.

Gifts can be stressful... other than family issues, I think gift giving is quite possibly the most stressful thing related to the holidays. I hope things go smoothly for you and your family this year!
