    Smile Chit Chat....

I remember there was a thread on here before where there was no real topic... just us girls chatting about whatever! It was fun and we got to know each other. So I am starting one again, and hope everyone chimes in!

I suspect things might start out slow since I'm sure most of you have a big day planned for tomorrow! Whats the plan this Thanksgiving?

We're going to Tim's folks for the day. They live close by (which is nice because my parents do not). I've heard it's supposed to snow and Nathan would be beyond excited if it did snow.

Ooo! Snow is fun when it first falls! That would be neat for Thanksgiving

Can I join in? I'm new here since you left but glad to meet you

I'm having a very relaxed Thanksgiving. I'm cooking and it'll just be the 7 of us. Dh, myself, Clay, Ben, Jess, MIL, and FIL. I love to just sit at home in my sweats and munch on all the good food all day long

Guess where I'm going? If you guessed the ghetto you'd be right? I am going to my parents and I am actually cooking sweat potatoes and making a salad.

I think we did just miss each other, I think I left late Nov? So its been almost exactly a year. Anyway, late welcome from me! lol

I think things do change... sometimes families grow and split off on their own. Sometimes they grow and just all squeeze in. lol

We are not going to visit family. No money for a turkey... and no oven for that matter, so I guess it would be futile anyway! But we are (hopefully) putting up our Christmas tree! I'm excited about that! There is something calming and cheery about having a pretty Christmas tree glowing in your home. I can't wait to see how Lily responds to it. Baby's first Christmas!

I think we're going to get our tree on the 5th or 6th. Nathan's birthday is the 4th and we like to wait until after that to get the tree and decorations up.

Talking about trees. Do you think I'm crazy nuts for wanting a completely white tree with blue decorations? I saw one at wm last weekend and have been thinking about it ever since.

Personally, Im not a big fan of the all white trees, but thats just me. However, we had a regular tree that we decorated all in white and blue. Even the lights were blue and white. It was beautiful And no I don't think you are crazy nuts! lol

How fun! Lots of things to celebrate!

We usually don't put our tree up this early, but with everything going on, I thought it might be something to make today special.

Holiday in the ghetto was relaxing once I got there. Massive stress getting there! Dinner was good. Apparently being a vegetarian goes against the reason God gave us animals. Alex does not like cherry pie. I now have a sewing machine and a Christmas tree to put up!!!! Complete with decorations!!!!! Yeah I'm a spoiled brat!

Nice! It all depends here. Sometimes we're building snowmen, sometimes we're all outside without jackets.

lol... please tell me you are not going to be one of those "soy turkey" Thanksgiving people? Your mom does have a point, I believe part of the reason God gave us animals was to eat them. However, its a stretch to say that someone who doesn't eat them is going against God. I bet the cows don't think you are.

You are most definitely a spoiled brat! lol Thats awesome though! Any ideas on your first sewing project? As for the tree, knowing your mom the decorations were probably all color coordinated. Am I right? lol

    Speaking of sewing machines....

I got one for free from a friend at church. All I've done so far is make some wipes (I use cloth diapers ), but my first big project is going to be to make Nathan a super hero cape. I hope it turns out well!

Oooo! That's an awesome first project!

I seriously contemplated doing cloth diapers. But things were pretty hectic at the time so I decided to wait that out. Good thing I didn't go for it, since we don't have a washer/dryer in our place right now! Good for you though! How do you like using them?

I like them a lot. I have a decent sized stash and the washing/drying/folding appeals to my obsessive compulsive nature.

I actually just did a whole series on my blog about cloth diapers. You can find the links on my fb.

My first project will be an apron! I get so messy in the kitchen! I like the snow, but I prefer to go visit and then come back home!

I didn't do soy turkey this year because it was REALLY expensive. Maybe next year. Yes God did give us animals to eat..doesn't mean I need to!
