Josh was really sick again last night. He made it to about midnight and then he was throwing up and having diarrhea for a couple hours. He's taking it well but I'm worried about him. He won't drink much water. He asks for food he can't have yet but he won't eat what I can give him.
Plus he's coughing and his eyes are watering and I don't know if that's part of this illness or a cold on top of it.
Later on we're going to buy him more things he can eat.
He got a kick out of taking a bubble bath this morning. He smelled like poop and vomit and I couldn't take it anymore.

Kate, the first time Claire got a GI illness she had vomiting maybe 0-2x a day for 7-10 days. It dragged on forever, and it is really really hard to get the smell of vomit out of hardwood floors, I found out. Some of these illnesses just take a really long time to clear completely. They're not the 24 or 48 hour bugs you hear about. Diarrhea illnesses are frequently a week in duration as well. I hope Josh feels better soon.

Travis was crying from coughing through the night and Cash was just restless. I feel like they tag-teamed me. LOL. I'm not as tired as I thought I would be now. But I do think I'll treat myself to some pizza or something tonight to perk myself up. LOL....I love food.

About the complaining thing, I rarely complain, too. People tend to observe that about me. One of my friends said to me, "you are always happy." Well, I'm not always happy but I try to not be so down like some people tend to be.

There's a lady that rides the shuttle bus to/from the same area as I do and she's such a happy person that it's infectious. No matter what mood I'm in, she's just so bubbly and happy I can't help but feel good inside. I've actually thought about telling her so.

Hi Bean! That sounds like such a blood-boiler of a conversation you had, esp with that first woman who asked if you'd used during your pg. Ugh. I'm sorry that they were so awful to you. And all you want to do is get your little Bodhi (awesome name, btw ) some help. I hope you don't have to deal with any more ay-holes from now on. I would probably complain to the supervisor there too in that situation.

As an aside, if it's alright with you, I'm going to start referring to your little one as "Bodhi Beans" so I can differentiate between yours and mine, ok?

Chrissy , what a let-down. It sounds like you're looking on the bright side of things, though...formulating a plan and such. Who knows? maybe by the time your girls leave the nest, you'll have renovated your old home to be your dream home and it'll be just the right size for you. It does stink when you start getting your mind set on one course and then have to move the goal.

kate, yikes, I hope Josh starts feeling better soon! it's so hard to watch your kid be sick.

And you too, AmeriAsh. I hope you get some rest today. I'll lie low with you. I, personally am "working" today, but lying in bed while I'm doing it, and chilling for most of the day. I have been in long meetings every day this week and I'm sick of hearing myself talk. I am also tired of having to fix my face so it doesn't look like I think I was just asked a stupid question.

molly, I hate it that my phone ran out of batteries last Tues just when we were starting to get to talking about our sisters. I've been trying to call you back the last couple of nights, but your outgoing VM is one of those robot voices, so I'm not 100% sure I've been getting your #. Which is probably just paranoia on my part because it's the same # you called me from and I'm just hitting call-back. Isn't it funny that I'm trying to get a message to you here because I feel more certain you'll see this over a voicemail, text or e-mail? LOL.

Speaking of robot voices, I've already started planning Bodhi's 3rd b'day party (next Jan 2012). Inspiration struck me this morning. It's going to be a robot party, and the invitations are going to say "Bodhi 3.0". I want to find cheesy stills from robot movies to put on the cards and make cartoon bubbles coming out of their mouths saying nerdy things like "Be there or be an icosikaioctagon". Ah, the things we think about when we're recovering from too much work...

Awesome party idea! You have to use Johnny 5 from Short Circuit in a piece of it. I'm absolutely in with that robot. He looks similar to Wall-E, ironically enough. Or visa versa actually.

It's been a week today since Josh threw up. When we were at the grocery store, he had to poop, but we made it in time. I got him everything he needed, except I didn't realize he was supposed to drink 1-2 of those pedialyte bottles per day, so I only got one. Well we can run to Target if I have to.

As for looking on the bright side of things...I kinda have to. What's done is done and getting worked up and upset about it will change nothing. I have to see where we are and ask myself, "Where do we go from here?" So far, moving back seems to be our best option.

Michelle Pfiefer said in that movie where she played a teacher in an inner city school (can't remember the name and I have to go help someone so I can't google it), she said, "You always have a choice. It might not be a choice you like, but it is a choice." Or something like that. It's always stuck with me.

Cass! I'm sorry, I didn't read back far enough. What a horrible experience. It really chaps my hide when people who hate people are put into customer service positions. Unprofessionalism of any sort just bugs me to no end, actually.

Myles, your birthday idea totally reminds me of this group of MIT grads I used to hang out with. They used to throw parties like that, only for adults. And there would be appliance wrestling contests and stuff.

I've been meaning to update y'all on my BSG viewing. I nearly gave up on it after watching about 5 episodes and being like 'huh?' but I watched it til the end of season 1 and now I'm hooked. I'm currently on episode 4 of season 2. I really, really like it now.

I confess that I got out of bed and decided to finish putting a layer of primer on the kitchen walls. I had only about a half hour to do, so I took off my pants so as not to get paint all over them. (What's the point of wearing a different outfit to paint if it's only gonna be for a half hour?)

My DH scowled at me when he saw and - as this won't be the first time I've painted in my skin rather than coveralls - said "Jeez, honey, why don't you just put some pants on for cryin' out loud? C'mon!" I don't know if he's bothered by some old-fashioned idea that being undressed has to be sexual, or if it bugs him that I don't look like a Victoria's Secret model when I'm half-naked. In any case, now I'm annoyed with him for not seeing the practicality behind my thinking.

And so I take my top off too. He asked me if I'm "some sort of nudist". Whatevs. The wall's done, I'm clothed and I didn't get a whole other set of clothes dirty.

So...Idol last night? I'm watching it now and I don't know a lot of these songs. What is this song Casey sang?
I watched a really creepy/sad movie last night called The Orphanage. It was very good, I want to say it was at least up for a foreign film Oscar when it was made, if not the winner. But I cried like a baby at the end. Yeah period + having a child of my own = really sad ending. Did any of you see it?

I married a closet traditionalist. It's so funny, actually, because to his family back home he's the wild one who moved off to California.

I'm pretty much a nudist, but my dh would prefer it if I didn't walk around naked, too. He's not a prude - I can happily send him a link to pterodactyl porn or whatever weird thing I stumble across and he'll be happy to see it - but he's just proper and likes to preserve the mystique. He's never gone so far as to tell me to put pants on, though, unless the occasion demanded it. I just know that's how he feels, so I try to minimize the actual amount of time I walk around naked in front of him.

I see painting in the nude as very practical. I do have a bunch of paint-spattered scrubs to give to you, though, if you want.
