We had a great church wedding without all the church talk LOL
We got married in the UU church I attended as a preteen/teen. I was so proud of DH because he could barely step foot in a church at that time but he knew it meant something to me so he did it. He was raised Catholic and hated it and literally felt uncomfortable standing in a church for quite some time--but he was fine that day. It seriously went off without a hitch. We were supposed to do passed hors d'oeuvres (ok i never spell that right) outside, but it poured. We easily moved it indoors.
Small wedding, only 40ish guests, but it was great to actually know everyone and make the rounds to all the tables during the meal. It felt good to have places at the tables for the wedding planner, DJ and photographer.
I was kind of a PITA about the music because the DJ was weird and not playing what we wanted. LOL So I went and bugged him a couple times.
After the wedding we went to my mom's house where a chair that's been in the family for a long time was passed down to me. We hung out, had a great time and headed off to the casino for a comedy show and some fun before heading off to Vegas for our honeymoon.
Great day though.
On the way down the aisle my dad joked "We can still get out of here" LOL

I have prayed for people.. but not to a god. But too all things good, for strength, etc.. I got this from my mom during her buddhist phase. Like think positive thoughts for others, etc...

I do this, too. Can't hurt.

I confess that part of me is tempted to do a bunch of research and send it to my sis to prove to her that this late term abortion hysteria is just unfounded backlash against Obama by sore losers. (She's posted about 4,000 links on FB.)

I confess that I know it would do no good and just be fuel for my family to pray hard for my eternal soul even more.

I confess that sometimes I get so angry at my family for their chosen ignorance that I can't talk to them for a few days.

I also confess that it's taking all my willpower not to go into the kitchen and eat the rice pudding I made for DH's birthday.

I confess that the minute I wrote what I wrote above, I was filled with remorse. I love my family so much. We are all passionate people. It's too bad that we're passionate about conflicting things.

I wish I could share things about myself with them without it being hurtful or causing an argument. I get jealous b/c I feel that they're free to talk about their political and religious views ad nauseum in front of DH and me, but if we bring something up, it's the end of the world.

I think people DO realize it but I just think they don't give a crap. I think they think since most Obama lovers bad mouthed bush for the last couple years of his presidency that gives them the right too.

Because they sometimes post here? (And when its, um, inappropriate, it quickly gets deleted).

I also felt VERY uncomfortable with the amount of God talk on here. I was here a long time before I came out of the closet, and I was scared to do it. I wonder if I would still be around the APA if the Secular forum hadn't been created. I'm not sure.

I confess I've only posted in there a couple times, and those couple times were to tell someone I understood their stand on something. I think it was prayer at the beginning of a game or something. I always bow my head during prayers and moments of silence, just out of respect for everyone else. Not to pray/

I confess that I do lurk, in the other religious forums, but also in FF, Traditional, the TTC forums, everywhere I don't particularly belong. I don't post though, except a very few times in the Christian forum, but not to say 'na na na na boo boo' or anything. Mostly I find it very interesting, sometimes my head nearly explodes (and then I stop for a while).

I confess that I do too. Someone broke into my car last night and stole my Ipod. They busted out the front passenger window and I have no money to get it fixed right now since we just had an emergency trip to Iowa so I will now have to drive my car with a frickin trash bag over the window!
