I confess I just went to Papa Ginos. I love the way they do subs, and I always order the Italian sub with just salami and cheese, pickles and tomatoes. It's like a 50/50 chance they will screw it up. I got home and it was an Italian the way they normally do it, with two other kinds of meat I really don't like.
I really wish there were more places that have good French bread and do cold subs. Most of the places I order from have crappy bread or heat up their subs and ignore it when I ask for it cold.

I hate when places screw up my order like that. Last night I went to this Mexican drive-through we have here. They mostly sell pollo asado (Mexican-style roast chicken) but they also sell other items with chicken like chicken quesadillas, tacos, and burritos made with the same chicken meat. I ordered the chicken tacos and I could swear the woman asked me something about a quarter white meat, so I assumed she must have misheard me but I couldn't quite understand her. So I asked her what she said, and she said she asked me if there would be anything else. That sounded nothing like what I thought she said, so I asked her again what she said and she asked again if I wanted anything else. Then when I drove around to the window she was didn't look at me or speak to me - she was talking to her friend the whole time. She did get my order right, though. They usually have excellent service there, so I was a little surprised.

I'm sorry, Gwenn. It sounds like a rough night.

Sorry Lydia, this is hilarious! Probably just the wording, but I wasn't expecting it. If it makes you feel any better, I was in the shower the other day washing and I thought to myself, "D*mn, my snatch is fat and furry... like a little woodland animal." HA!

ITA. I was horrible to my mom, and regret it so much now. Though she did deserve some of what she got , in general, I was just a sh!thead to her. Poor mom!

Lately she's crawling under the chair in the family room, then under the end table, and hiding in the corner between the sofa and chair. She can only accomplish this by lying flat on her belly and scooting as she's way too big to fit under that chair. When she first tried this she then tried to crawl up onto the back of the sofa and I wouldn't let her so I was relieved when she just stopped in the corner.

Last night after a big clap of thunder, she somehow managed to knock the lamp off the end table, breaking the light bulb inside, and knocking over a half-full cup of lemonade. Which meant I had to move all the furniture, mop the floor, clean the furniture, and change the lightbulb. By the time I'd done all that it was after midnight and still raining with the trash pick-up in the morning. I then took numerous bags of trash out in the rain. Then came back inside to find that my internet, cable, and phone had been knocked out by the storm (we get them all from one company). I was furious.

I confess I screamed - not just yelled, but screamed - at the dogs the entire time I was cleaning up that mess. The poor little one was shaking. If she wasn't afraid of storms before, she will be now. I'm not proud.
Hugs to you, Gwenn. I think anybody would be at their snapping point then.

One time my dog found my pump stuff while I was at the nicu visiting Robbie. I have no idea how she climbed up to find it without killing herself. When I came home and found her with the tubing I yelled at her. She still was confused about me being gone for so long, leaving all the time, and she was always wandering around the house really nervously and looking for my missing 'litter'. So yelling at her really freaked her out, and she was terrified. I felt so bad for yelling at her. So I totally understand Gwenn.

I confess I have been thinking about my screen name change, and am not quite happy with it... Not quite different enough from the old one, and it leaves Charlie out...

Who do you talk to about changing your screen name, anyway? I'd like mine to just say "Bridget".

I confess Savana had her 2nd swimming lesson today. I am so relieved that she did it. Last week was a nightmare. She wouldn't go near the water where her teacher was. The teachers and the woman running the program were trying to help and I really appreciated their gentle nature and patience. The problem was that they assumed Savana was afraid of the water and really she's just hesitant about adults she doesn't know. She loves the water. They kept telling me I could take her to the play area where the slides and fountains were so she could get used to it but I wanted her to stay near her class, watch what they were doing, see how nice the teacher was. I'd have her close to wanting to join them when someone would come over and say, "Honey, do you want to just go splash around with Mommy for awhile" Noooooooo! And I felt like they all thought I was this mean ole' mom. I just knew if I took her to the play area, she'd never join the class because, well, the play area with mom is more fun!
Well, we talked about it all week and today she bravely walked right to her class and sat down and did great the entire time. What a relief. I have such a fear that because my kids are with me 24/7, that starting any activities where I'm not involved will cause them a lot of anxiety.

Glad it went well this time. Sounds like you handled it exactly right.

About changing the screen name, I PM'd a mod about it but she had to forward it to Admin.

I confess I was TOTALLY looking forward to having the next two days off... ( I can't remember the last time I had two days off in a row...) and then about 20 minutes after I got home one of the girls I work with called... I ignored it, but she wants to switch her mon & tues, with my wed & thurs...

I'd still have two days off in a row, but not for another two days....

Things there are kinda crazy right now... a bunch of people left to go back to college, our store manager got fired, and we just got a new scheduling program and its leaving TONS of shifts vacant...

Evie is pointing at A's "boobies" and giggling about it. I don't know who taught her the word but she has been pointing everyones out.

I could've written that card too. I remember a post secret from years ago, somebody wrote that they put bibles in the religious fiction section of bookstores.

I would post that card to my fb, but than I'd be attacked by an angry mob. Too many rabidly religious friends and family.

    Hi!

Getting back to normal after a long weekend away. Got to relax in my parents hot tub with my sister, went to the casino (we didn't win but the two others we were with won (one pretty good!), got to visit with various family members......AND the best part of all was on Saturday night we got to see Bill Maher live!!!! We were like 10 rows back. It was so awesome.
We even had decent weather and decent drives both down there and back up.

It feels great to be home though!

Fantastic! We went to Waukegan...worked out that it wasn't a weekend DH works and my family is in Kenosha so we got tickets a few months ago. My dad decided a few weeks ago he wanted to go so he came with but just couldn't sit by us. Show as about an hour and 45 minutes....some material we heard before on his show on HBO but of course much was new. Lots of stuff about the Tea Baggers....and of course he got into religion!
Tickets weren't cheap....we were going to go see Wicked in Minneapolis....but I went with Bill instead.

I confess that Kai has really been testing my patience. And I feel like I used to have so much more of it.
He's been daytime potty learned for months and suddenly he just won't go. I can tell he needs to go because he starts wiggling around but when I tell him to go he starts this massive whinefest "I don't waaaant to" and "Caarrryyy meeee to the potty" Um. No. By the time we finally get there, his underwear is wet and when I ask him why he didn't go he tells me he was too busy playing. Yesterday we went through 10 pairs of underwear.
Today is better. I put a sticker chart in the daycare bathroom. Every time he walks himself to the bathroom and his underwear is completely dry, he gets a sticker. He's got four today and has been in the same underwear all day. Please let this keep working.
Added to that he doesn't like anything I make him to eat, he refuses to help clean up at transition times, he's pushing a little guy I take care of and all he wants to talk about is poop and butts. Today he asked for more grapes at lunch. There were 3 left. I gave him 2 and 1 to another little girl. He freaked out, stuck his hand in his noodle soup and came out with a fistful of noodles and pulverized them. I had to ask him to leave the table and deal with the tantrum that caused. Oh, Serenity Now!! Who is this crazy child that has taken over my sweet Kai?
