I'm doing well. Extremely busy. I started nursing school two weeks ago and in two weeks we are moving into a smaller place to offset the added expenses of the school I'm going to and daycare. Oh yeah, James is in daycare (a certified in-home provider) now! AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH! Bitter sweet I tell you. He's adjusting fairly well though.

Seriously, though, I figure I'm the odd one out a lot of times and probably don't even realize it. Luckily I have a great combination of being somewhat oblivious and having self-confidence, so I don't notice and it doesn't bother me.

Katycat, I've been doing so much with eggs the past couple of days I've been thinking about you a lot. Is this a busy time for you?

OMG, it's nursing school. Well, accelerated nursing school.

Thursday was our fourth pathophysiology class and we had a test over NINE chapters. If that tells you anything.

And now, I'm going back to studying!

Congrats on nursing school Janeen! It's a lot of work, but it'll be worth it in the long run. I'm glad James is adjusting well to daycare.

Kate, I consider you one of my best secular friends. You always seem to notice every post I make. I hope you feel the same way. I also hope that the cruise will be an opportunity for you to really connect with the girls. At least a couple of them. Sharing adventures is one of the best ways of really connecting with other people. Try not to worry. Just be yourself and have a great time.

Lydia, I think of you as someone that really has it all together. I enjoy your posts and your perspective on things. You've definitely given me a lot to think about. More than just pterodactyl porn too.

I do notice you Chrissy. I feel like I know you and your family pretty well (except Conner's been relatively staying out of trouble I guess, because we don't hear a lot about him ) I'm interested in what your girls are up to because they seem very intelligent and independent and I wish the best for them.

I don't talk much about Conner because we're still stuck on the same problem--he will not poop on the potty. He's obsessed with playing games on the computer, dinosaurs, and playing ball outside. He also likes his sandbox but it hasn't been warm enough for him to play in it much.

He did yard work with Grandma last week. He's really good about pulling weeds and putting stray sticks in a pile and loves that kind of thing. He also says b@st@rd isn't a bad word, it's Spanish.

Yes, I do think he and Josh would get along. When Josh was sick I let him play on the computer a lot and he's very disappointed that he can't do that on a daily basis.

Oh Chrissy, about the pooping in the toilet...it just seemed to happen for us. One day something clicked. I know that doesn't help, but try not to stress out too much about it

I know...I was tearing my hair out when it came to potty training. I didn't think it was ever going to happen.
edit to add he still forgets to flush and wash his hands and sometimes he misses the toilet entirely...so we have our issues too.

I do know that I'm nuts but I am addicted to Pepsi, I think.

Chrissy, what worked with Travis was telling him that we didn't have any more diapers, so he had no option to poo in them any more. He didn't like it; he even held it for a few days but he eventually just went and never looked back to diapers. I tried a few times with this approach and when it got too stressful, I did just end up giving him a diaper to poo in but I think it was the third time of telling him no more diapers that it finally worked.

I saw a picture of my 6th grade English teacher in my local hometown paper (I read the online version) and I wondered what award she'd won or what the article was about. When I read it, it was her obituary! She was only 46! She lived with lung cancer for 8 years. I could not believe it. She was only young when she was my teacher and pregnant with her first daughter. Her daughters are only 18 and 15 now. It really stunned me and made me feel so sad.

Hmmm, well I haven't had to potty train a human boy...but my girl Cosmo has recently started pooing outside. LOL She used to wait until she came inside and went in her litter box....outside was only on walks. But now with being outside a lot more, she has been going out there too. It's almost easier to pick up inside in her box though!

Kate, I am not going to be any help in the make up thread....I don't wear any and haven't in years. Dh doesn't really like it and since I wear glasses, it wasn't really noticeable when I used too.

I confess that I spent over an hour in Michaels today just being overwhelmed. I ended up walking our with $42 (but got 10 off) in freaking paper. I still need a whole bunch of things like scissors, cutting board, some kinds of glue or something, and maybe ribbon or something. And I need to head over to Shopko and starting making copies of pictures. I don't think that I will really get going on this scrapbook (or scrapbooks since I need two identical ones) until probably end of May.

I won $20 in powerball last night.

Normally I avoid it too, but I'm wondering if putting him in a diaper and telling him he has to wear them till he's pooping on the potty would encourage him to actually use the potty. ??? I really don't know, and it's not something I'm too keen on doing.

the scrapbooks are the portfolios for the adoption agency. So they need to show us as a couple, our family and friends, our pets, our interests and hobbies and our home. Basically who we are....and I'm not a scrapper or artistic or creative in that way. It's going to take me probably a couple of months to get these done. At least now I have some paper and I have started pulling out pictures from albums to scan as potential ones to use. Still haven't gone through the computer....know i have some good ones that I just never got around to printing out (I was doing good but got distracted last year and got behind). And I hope that eventually the weather turns to spring and we can get some better house pictures and yard pictures! I hear something about more snow this week.......

I scrapped for a while when Josh was a baby...haven't picked it up in years but I used to do something really simple with cardstock behind all the photos. Like if I had a picture of Josh in an blue shirt I would put it against a piece of blue cardstock. You can even get adhesive cardstock.

I typed my text on the computer and printed it out in pretty fonts and also would glue that onto a colored piece of paper. I wouldn't get too overwhelmed with embellishments and stuff if you don't know much about it. Maybe some cute stickers, rub ons or stamps.

If you want I can take pics tomorrow of some things I've done...it's nothing fancy but might help.
I'm sure they're not expecting anything wildly artistic, just something that looks nice.

I'm pretty busy! Had a show last Thursday (that was terrible - they did NO marketing and sales were dismal. I'm so mad at this place, but it means that I never have to do shows there again after trying to get out of it for the past couple of years). Then Saturday morning I gave a four hour workshop. This week I have a local TV interview on Friday morning, then a four hour workshop to give on Friday afternoon that is at an event and people will wander up and leave when they want so it will be kind of nerve-wracking I'm sure. Then Saturday I have a demo/sale at my gallery. Also, my in-laws are coming in town on Friday and we are having Easter dinner for everyone at my house. I'm just eternally grateful that my husband does all the cooking in this house so I only have to worry about getting the house clean by Friday.
