Seriously. I'd just say, "I'm having major stomach issues and can't be far from the bathroom if you know what I mean. And then throw in that you're sorry they have to know that information but you don't know how else to put it.![]()

I'm SICK of freaking snow. We got record snowfall here, my street still isn't plowed and not thinking that DH will make it on time to work tonight...no way would either of our cars make it. I hurt my back shoveling the front porch and stairs...drifts were over three feet tall. And the stupid snow blower is having issues....it was a nice idea as we got it second hand for free but I wish that we would have just bought a nice big brand new one. Course would have known we would get snow like this...in the four years we lived here, we never saw more than 8 inches at once and that was a rare thing. I think that there is probably 18 inches on the street at least.
So yeah since Friday night we haven't left the house except to be out front doing snow removal several times.
I don't ever recall snow like this where they shut down the interstate, basically told people to stay home, tow trucks were pulled, ambulances were not going down side streets....what a mess.
I hate snow.
Yikes, it sounds scary Jennifer! We haven't had snow here yet but practically everything stays open...the only thing is schools sometimes are a little nervous and they close when they really shouldn't have, but it is hard to predict these things.
One thing I will never do again is drive to work in a snowstorm.
We did not get nearly what they predicted here. A lot of snow blowing around though. I like it. I love hunkering down at home and being stuck. But then again, I have a job that doesn't require me to drive. Today I just read books and cooked with the kids all day. I did attempt to take them sledding in the back yard but that was ridiculous, the wind was blowing the snow like ice in our faces. So we came in and made maple snow ice cream.![]()
Exclamation marks are good, though, since they show more emotion. LOL.
So like I was afraid of, basically everyone is sold out of snowblowers. But DH said that two neighbors were out and they felt bad for him and came and helped clear out the end of the driveway! One guy used to live in the country and has a John Deere thing that had a blower attached...a riding snowblower cool! I think that I should send them a thank you and some cookies or something. Hopefully they got the mailbox too so we can get mail delivered (snow was over the mailbox when I left this morning).
The snow sucks and it's even suckier because it's below zero out there. Uggg. I don't mind the cold so much but HATE the snow. And I really hate that it came this early in the season because we likely will be stuck with it until March. The snow banks are about to the roof of my car so it's not all that easy to see if traffic is coming at intersections.
So tonight DH and I going to look at Sears.com and order one. I want a really cool looking expensive one but he will probably go for a little cheaper one because well we normally do not get more than 6-8 inches at once, usually more like 3-4. Looks like even ordering online we will probably not get it for 9-11 days.
So I decided, I don't like being snowed in for over two days. I like staying at home and we fairly often have weekends where we don't leave or get dressed. But I'm sort of claustrophobic and I don't like not having the option of leaving if I wanted. And there is nothing within walking distance....at least when we rented, we were a block from a gas station and video store and burger king.
I wish we were snowed in. That is the only thing I miss about snow, no work/school on some days.
We got some flurries, which is VERY rare. Ky got REALLY excited and hurried and put on his coat and ran outside faster than a lightning bolt.
He was happy to get one snowball off my back bumper LOL!
Elle just said "it's cold, I go inside" and didn't want to even look at the snow. No accumulation occurred but it was rare to even get this cold during December here in Atlanta.

It think we were 13 below zero with windchill this morning. My crazy cat was meowing her ever loving head off at the door wanting to go outside at 4am.I opened the door and just held her out there in my arms for about 10 seconds so she could see how cold it was and then pulled her back in. She stopped meowing at least until I got up this morning.
Kate, you said Chrissy but I assume you meant me when you asked about the ice cream snow. I just scooped up some fresh snow in a bowl and added milk and maple syrup. It was more like a slushy but pretty darn tasty.
Our furnace keeps going out. It went out Friday so we called someone and then no sooner did we set up a time for it to get fixed it started working again and worked all weekend. Now today it stopped working and dbf has been messing with it all day and finally he gave in and called them to come and now it's working. How weird.
Furnaces are weird like that. My mom's does that on occasion as well goes off or blows cold air, then starts working the next day. Very weird.
Luckily we have a home warranty plan so any time anything goes wrong we call them and they come out and check on it and we don't have to pay a service charge or anything. We mainly got it for our AC system because it was ransacked before we moved in here and is unreliable in the sweltering Atlanta summers, but oddly enough we have had to call about the furnace more than the AC.

We had to put down one of our kitties today. We'd noticed he was getting slower than usual, but figured he was just getting old. Over the last couple days we noticed he was getting skinny fast and he wasn't eating much. We took him in this morning and they told us he was in advanced kidney failure and that even with a few days of IV's and stuff he would not get much better. We decided to let him go. DH and Josh waited in the car and I stayed.
We've had him since DH and I had been dating for only a few months. He leaves his sister and one other cat. We'll miss him very much. He was extremely friendly to everyone and was very patient with Josh.
The weird thing is, when I was in there with him I kept talking to him about kitty heaven. I have no idea why I believe in kitty heaven and not human heaven. Heh.
RIP George, we'll miss you!

I confess that I give up on trying to eliminate the gun play around here. Kai can't stop. He's not trying to be a jerk. It's just what he wants to do. The peace love happiness hippy in me is being driven totally insane by it! I can't even figure out where the hell he learned it since we don't watch tv and I regulate every movie. The only thing I can even think of is this boy I used to care for over a year ago that was all guns all the time.
But it is what it is and I'm checking myself and just letting the kid pretend. I actually decided it about a week ago and then I read a little section in this John Holt book on homeschooling about how one of the biggest mistakes parents make is trying to be too directive about their child's fantasy play. Since I have agreed with much of what the author of the book said, this made me feel better about my decision.
I figure if I'm cool with Savana being a cheetah and tearing apart her "prey", I need to be cool with Kai "shooting the bad guys".![]()
Kate, I am sorry. It's hard to lost a pet.![]()
Sorry about your kitty, Kate.
That's very interesting. We had another cat that we only took in for a little while who was orange and also very loving. Back when we lived in Tennessee we took in an adult cat we found wandering the apartment grounds and two kittens we found in the middle of the road, but we didn't keep them. We would have had 6 cats. We gave them to friends when we moved.
