So today's 5 minutes of searching for baby yielded nothing.... Slightly concerning because I should not have a problem at this point. My stomach was really gurgling from lunch though so that was pretty distracting...I'm hoping it was a fluke. The kids are all asleep so I think I may try again. I don't want Shaun to get upset though because earlier he said I shouldn't hold so much weight on the Doppler this early and wants me to be calm and relaxed for Fridays apt. Don't know if I can resist though.
So I resisted last night.... Sort of tough, I tossed and turned a lot. My yorkie is sick so that didn't help. I really feel like I need to check again today. I hate being sneaky, but DH leaves for work at 10a today so maybe I will get a few minutes before or after lunch. I hate questioning things.
I say do whatever puts your mind at ease <3 !!
I'm sorry you're not at ease at the moment. I would do whatever you need in order to try and feel better. But, that's kinda also how I became overweight ... ;)
I've had several moments of panic when I couldn't find baby's hb. I've looked for 20mins at 9+ weeks and had to put the doppler away without finding it...I tried again later that night and found it right away. Just a couple days ago it took me 10mins and I was over 10wks. So sometimes I think baby is just not in a good position. When you consider they are an inch long from crown-to-rump at 10wks you can imagine how tiny they are at 8-9wks and their heart is an itty-bitty little thumping dot in that itty-bitty half an inch body so it's practically a miracle for us to be finding it at all!!!
I know it's nerve-wracking though :conf:! Praying you get loooots of consolation on Friday :cheer:, but hoping you find the hb before then...I know a couple days can feel like forever!
Okay! 10 mins, and like 4-5 flashes of baby hb I finally was able to pin point it for 20-30seconds. Still no sound, but I am pretty confident this reading is baby. Also, I was surprised at the position, 2 inches above pubic bone pretty much centered between my hips. Uterus is moving up!
I feel so much better now!
Okay this might sound weird, but I mention pubic bone in the pp and then look at the picture and I notice this puff of hair next to the Doppler...............................
:P it's my Yorkies ear! She was laying on my stomach! thought it was a funny coincidence!
Glad you were able to pick up the heartbeat. That is too funny about the dogs ear. I didn't notice at first and of course had to scroll back up to check it out. LOL😄
Our Mocha has been hiding behind some veins and making it so hard to find a good angle without deafening me with my own pulse, lol (I use earbuds) :D! A few times I've gotten baby's hb *and* mine which sounds absolutely crazy (ha, of course I panic for a second :eyeroll:). I've never had a baby cozy down so low before...lol, going to be a snuggler .
Awe, double heart beats! How special Kelly! Snuggle baby snuggle!
Yay! 1 more day!
I just realized that I'm 7 weeks today. I'm gonna have to break out my doppler soon. :)
Yay! Break that thing out!
I'm getting stressed out now. I finally talked myself into trying to find the hb this morning and couldn't find it. I am 8 weeks 1 day. I always find it before now. I know it's possible the baby is snuggled deep in a weird position, keeping me from finding it, but it doesn't calm my nerves any. I do have an appt next week with my new dr so I will just wait til then to be checked. In the meantime, I'll keep trying myself.
That is so unnerving, I'm so sorry you couldn't find the hb this morning...really praying your LO gets in a better position the next time you pull the doppler out :hugs:! If my my little Mocha is snuggled up on my right side I can't find her hb unless I put the doppler probe at the very top of my uterus pointing straight down to where it's almost laying flat on my tummy...even then, it's very faint.
Thinking of you !!
Thanks ladies. I guess not finding the hb brought back memories that I never wanted to experience again and I just panicked. I'll keep trying.
Even though I can feel baby moving and have reassuring symptoms I still panic a little if it takes me a while to find baby's hb...a silent womb is just not something you ever get over
And stories like these are why I don't own a doppler! I don't think I could take the panic it would put me into.
Cindy, I am certain that you'll find the HB when you try next. :hugs:
So! I was able to find two different baby heartbeats last night, in two different areas. One more on my right and one on my left. I am like 99%certain it was two separate babies at least. I was having a hard time finding anything, then I added a lot more gel and started hearing right away. I guess I need to be more generous with my gel use lol But needless to say, it has put my mind at ease for a few days ;)
Awwwww !!! That has to be so reassuring :bellyrubs:!
