How are our feb babies doing?

Fletcher is a pretty mellow baby so far.

Big brothers love him and they get a nightly snuggle from their baby brother before bed.

We are having some gas issues, which causes some restless sleep and lots of holding, especially at night. He mostly sleeps on my chest because of it. I think I'm at the point of eliminating dairy from my diet.

I'm dealing with sleep deprivation way better than I imagined, but my husband is off and sometimes Fletcher and I don't get up until 10am! So spoilt and in for a shock when DH goes back to work next week.

How are the other babies doing??

Great to hear you have this time when your DH can help you out. I'm hoping for a stress free couple of weeks after labor also since DH is getting about 3 weeks off.

So glad to hear that Fletcher is a mellow little guy! Sullivan (Sully) is doing really well too! He came 3.5 weeks early and was a little guy at birth (6.5 pounds) and is now 9 pounds! My second daughter was 9.5 at birth so it's crazy seeing his birth pictures compared to hers.

Poor Sully got sick and was diagnosed with RSV at only two weeks old but luckily we didn't end up in the hospital. My Dr. gave us a nebulizer and that helped so much as well as the NoseFrida (tube that you insert in their nose to suction out snot)! It's so hard with four older sisters to keep germs at bay (especially a preschooler who seems to bring every cold home) but the older girls have been really good about hand washing and changing their school clothes when they get home.

I cannot wait for the warm weather to get here and the cold and flu season to be over!!

Lily is a sweet baby (of course) but we are having a hard time with breastfeeding. She doesn't want to latch unless she is getting something immediately. I have a pretty quick letdown so if she would just latch for 30 seconds, she would be happy. It doesn't help that my milk takes longer than the normal person to come in...so I'm pumping as much as possible and taking Reglan. I have been the most frustrated with this and she has had more formula in the first 11 days of her life than the other two had in the first 6 months. I'm trying really hard not to throw in the towel on this one...I don't think my pride (or my wallet) will let me do that though. I've used syringes, a SNS, feeding a partial bottle then putting to breast, but it's all so tiring. When I use the syringe or SNS, we struggle for about 10 minutes each time. We went to the pedi. on Wednesday and she was two ounces above her birth weight, so at least she is gaining. My dh was off the first four days last week and my mom was here Sun - Thurs. I'm kinda glad it's just me and Lily now but it was nice to have my mom here for a few days, cooking and cleaning for me!

That's scary! Glad he didn't need to be hospitalized!

So happy to see that so many of our little ones are here! Good luck and ELV to our Feb Mommy's that are still waiting for their babies.

Britton is doing GREAT! She lost a lot of weight after birth and ended up having to be hospitalized again for 3 days. Had to have an IV and a LP which was awful but the IV really helped get her energy up so she could eat! I stuck with bf'ing though almost everyone wanted her eating bottles (EBM) so we could see how much she was getting. I wanted to just trust that my body was making it for her! I mean, when I pump I get like 6 or 7 oz! Surly it was not a supply issue! Anyway, she finally started going up at about 2 1/2 weeks old (went from 5lb 1oz at discharge to 5lb 7.6 oz) and then at her 21st day of life she was 5lb 15 oz! So over birth weight finally! :) Now we are just nursing and sleeping and loving every minute. All of the big sisters just adore her too. :)

Elena is doing great. As you all know she gave us a scary start with her SVT which led to 4 nights in the NICU, but she hasn't had any episodes. They said as she gains don't be surprised if she does and it will just mean she needs her dose increased, though they will be monitoring her weight closely to try to be proactive about it. In addition she wasn't gaining her first week home and was having bouts of diarrhea so I cut out dairy and she has been gaining fine since. I'm not sure if the issue was dairy or a hindmilk/foremilk imbalance so I'll reintroduce dairy in a few weeks and see what happens. She finally passed her birth weight this week..she is 8 lbs 9 oz! Finally we had to take her in today and turns out she has an eye infection, probably from a clogged tear duct. She is on an eye ointment and I'm using breast milk as well. Hopefully this is the end of all of the drama for her!

Aside from all that she is such a mellow girl. She sleeps all the time! And she barely fusses or cries and when she does she soothes easily. She and ds are like night and day in their personalities!

Oh and she is 3 weeks today...I really should update my ticker haha

Harlow is doing fantastic. She eats and sleeps wonderfully. Much different than Piper. We have been snuggling non-stop. She's up past birth weight last week and is gaining like a champ. I feel like time is flying.

I am so glad our February babies are doing wonderfully.

Baby James is doing great! He's eating like a champ, big sisters are quickly adjusting to him and so are we. It is still so amazing and surreal to see him with us, we thought we would never have a son and every time I see my husband hold his son, I shed a tear or two because it melts my heart.

I am doing a lot better with the PPD, my OBGYN (a new doctor in the practice) tried to push antidepressants on me but I refused. Talking with my BFF in Peru made me feel a lot better and she's my remedy for the blues, better than any drug lol. I have some days when I feel super down but I try to shake it off and get busy to not get depressed. Cloudy and rainy days seems to affect my mood a lot. DH has been wonderful and he still helps me a lot. I do most of the night care for baby since I am exclusively BF but in the AMs, DH takes over and lets me sleep in an brings me breakfast to bed. Overall, we are doing just fine.
