High Blood Pressure
So, the last 2 appts, I've had high blood pressure (yesterday initial blood pressure was 160/90 ... two weeks ago, it was something like 153/96). They had me lie on my left side for about 5 minutes and retested both times... 2 weeks ago, the number then came out to 120/60 and yesterday it was 135/53. So, clearly, lying on the left side brings it down considerably.
As of now, I don't have protein in my urine. So, I'm now scheduled for weekly appts to monitor it.
The Dr wouldn't say much at this point except she wants to keep a close eye on it....
Anyone ever experienced this? Dr didn't give much recommendations or anything... simply said it is how my body reacts to pregnancy.
I guess I'll have to wait and see what Tuesday will bring.......

Hope you get good readings on your next appointment. Try not to be too anxious because that will probably have an effect on your blood pressure too. I know easier said than done.

I agree with Paulett, try not to worry too much :) At least they want to keep monitoring you, so if something were to happen Im sure they would find it and correct it right away! Hoping all stays well otherwise!!!

I agree there is something called the white coat effect and can effect your BP, you might also try red rasberry leaf as this has magnesium in it and they is proven to lower your BP.

Thanks ladies! We'll see how it goes - in the meantime, I did buy a wrist blood pressure machine and I don't seem to be popping high numbers at all so who knows... I guess time will tell with this.
I just don't want bedrest as my job isn't very understanding... in the meantime, I'm simply trying to watch my sodium intake.
On a side note, I DO have a history of getting high blood pressure readings at Dr offices... I've always had anxiety with Drs :shocker:
