could I be pregnant?
Hello I'm new to site and wonder if someone could give me some advice. Earlier this year I had a miscarriage. After my miscarriage I was put on provera to regulate my cycles. After 2 months I stopped taking the provera because my cycles started occurring every 28 days. Now I've missed 2 periods and have been spotting for the last couple of days. I've also. had 3 negative hpt. I was wondering is it possible that I could be pregnant?

the best thing to do is call your doctor

You could still be having irregular cycles due to the miscarriage and you were taking Provera continuously for 2 months? That would likely mess things up, too.

Thanks so much for responding. I took another hpt on the 30th and it still came out negative. Then the next day what I think is my cycle started, but it was heavy and lasted only a few hour. So Monday I'm calling my doctor. But again thanks for your responses,I really nneeded someone to talk to.

sad face
I thought that I could have been pregnant, but doctor doesn't think so. I have to start taking provera again :( I also have to go and get a pelvic ultrasound to check for poly cystic ovaries. Plus I may have to get back on birth control to regulate myself:( I would have ever though it would've been so hard to conceive. Has anyone ever had trouble ttc after taking birth control for a few years?

It is fairly common for it to take some time for your body to start having regular cycles after taking any hormonal birth control. If you do want to conceive, I would not go back on birth control as that prevents ovulation and there is no guarantee that you will resume ovulating after you stop the birth control pills. Now, Provera is not birth control pills. It is just a high dose of progesterone that is used to induce a period once you stop taking it in hopes that you will then ovulate and have a regular period after that. But, there is no guarantee that you will in fact ovulate after taking it.
It is possible that you just need some more time for your body to get back on track after a miscarriage. It can take awhile. Did you have trouble conceiving that baby?

miscarriage in February
To be honest with you my miscarriage was in February. I went to the doctor because I was going into a second week of bleeding. At first I thought it was my period because the bleeding started at the time of my normal cycle. But I went to get checked out when the bleeding didn't stop. That's how I found out I was pregnant. I had to take 3 blood test to check my hgc levels, which were decreasing each time. So I was told that I had a natural miscarriage. I actually stopped taking my birth control in January.

How long do you think it can take for my body to return to normal? The birth control pills are supposed to make my cycles regulated. It's frustrating to hear that especially since I'm ready to have a child. My doctor also suggested that I see a fertility specialist. :( But I know I don't wanna keep getting off and on hormone pills either.

It can take months to get back to normal. Some women go right back to ovulating and some women take a long time. Sure, birth control pills regulate your AF but they are supposed to prevent ovulation. So if something is regularly suppressing ovulation how would that then help you to ovulate later?
Edit: A fertility specialist would try to diagnose whether you are ovulating, the quality of eggs and help you to ovulate regularly. If all your OB wants to do is put you on birth control pills, I would definitely see the fertility specialist.
