I am from OKLAHOMA
I was born and raised in the Dominican Republic, lived in FL for 10 years and have been living in Ontario, CA for the past 2 years.
Oh, by CA I mean Canada, I know there is an Ontario, California as well :)
I am from Kentucky! I am not like the rednecks that they put on TV though! Haha my family doesn't marry their cousins, we have all our teeth, and my husband and I are tattooed and pierced.
From Kentucky here also...and would have to agree that the TV shows make us look horrible...Especially TURTLE MAN...lol really?
Wow, I'm the only new yorker here... I feel lonely :(
Right? I grew up in a southern and country family but I'm definitely not redneck or country. My twang does creep out if I'm afraid family with it as well! Lol I grew up in Louisville. =)
We drove through New York to get to Boston...and some parts were SCARY! And traffic was awful up there but better than what it was in boston thats for sure! It was so cool to see the bridge and the city though.
Oregon.. am I the only West Coast girl?
LOL I'm a redneck DH and I have lots of tattoos though we've given up our piercings. We have trucks, quads, horses, chickens, ducks, dogs, and our kids rarely wear shoes in the summer  we have a creek and loads of tree covered forests in our backyard, we don't hunt but we do fish and love to crab on the coast.
We don't live in a trailer but we camp in one!
I am from Colorado, born and raised. And I have never skiied a day in my life.
Lol yeah I grew up shooting guns, hunting, and fishing! Just lost interest. Other than shooting. I love to shoot as well as much husband. (He also grew up in a country background.) my dad is the type of guy that has a man room with over 25 different dead animals on the walls, 30+ fire arms, and a deep freezer full of meat. I always have to ask what kind of meat they're fixing because you just never know over there! Haha although I do have to say wild boar and elk are pretty good =)
My family hunts, my brother is an avid bear and elk hunter. DH doesn't really he's been on trips with friends but I'm a vegetarian anyway and I hate the smell of game meat cooking. My boys love deer but they eat it at the grandparents or aunts lol. We do like to fish, even though I don't eat that either it's fun and crabbing is a blast and turns into a family get together.
^we sound so much alike. I will only eat certain types of wild meat. Elk is good, wild boar sausage is good, and I hate deer...although it tasted really good last night. They try to trick me when I go over there but it has an odd and nasty smell when cooking and has a different taste that's for sure! I miss being vegetarian honestly but was told the high intake of soy products wouldn't help with my infertility issues...so I started eating meat that same day and I sat in my car and cried as I ate mcds chicken nuggets lol it was heart breaking after 4 years of not eating meat. (Which I got so much crap for coming from a family who hunted and had meat and potato kinda dinners!) poor Dh had it rough. I wouldn't cook meat while vegetarian and he was so excited when I started eating meat. But I would forget to make it most of the time for dinner until I got in the habit of it. Even now I will only touch raw chicken if its not in the bone and bacon. Everything else he has to prepare and then I will cook it. And I refuse to eat anything with a bone still in it. It freaks me out so much and just reminds me that I am eating a helpless animal lol (I'm sure that sounds so silly!)
LOL that's funny! I don't eat vegetarian because I'm an animal lover or anything, though I am. And I do believe that the treatment of food produced animals needs reform, I really just dont like meat that much, mostly beef and pork though. I eat chicken maybe a few times a month hidden in casseroles mainly. I also eat tuna and other ocean fish like halibut, rockfish, and other snappers.
I don't eat soy either. I get my protein from beans, legumes and I still eat dairy but not so much actual liquid milk. I prefer almond milk. I hide black beans or lentils in just about anything that would contain ground meat. I used to use tempeh, but with all the controversy about soy I gave it up.. IMO soy has become just as bad as meat, it's crazy.
I'm really not strict about foods I just know what I like and it rarely contains meat. I think that it's the choice for me but I don't push it on anyone. My husband is a huge carnivore and my oldest son won't touch a bean. My youngest is a lot like me and very adventurous when it comes to foods, we usually eat the same meals and DH and Corbyn substitute stuff. When I'm not pregnant I don't mind cooking meat for them, but at this point I can't stand the smell of it and usually have to go outside for awhile while they cook it lol.
When I'm pregnant I get cravings for high fat foods.. this time around I can't seem to resist a quater pounder! lol normally I can't even walk into a Mcds without feeling nauseous.
