dishwasher cleaner
Does anyone have a dishwasher detergent that works well? I ran out of my store bought one the other day, and tried a recipe I had pinned. It was equal parts borax and baking soda and some citric acid. I used lemi shine since i had no citric acid. Lots of my dishes came out with stuff on them. This next time, I made sure my dishes had no residue on them. I sat them in the sink while I handwashed the stuff I handwash, so i didnt waste a ton of hot water, but more than usual. They still had a film on them. I also had some rinse agent already in the dishwasher.
Any recipes that work well for you?

I have a recipe that works pretty well, but would work even better if I did the white vinegar rinse (I dont to save $).

thanks! looks like it uses washing soda instead of baking soda, plus some salt. I'll try that next.
I read the comments, and someone said how their dishwasher smelled so muh better. I gotta say, that I thought there was something wrong with my dishwasher. I even cleaned out the filter and ran vinegar through it. It always had a funky smell. It took me a while to fill up this last load, and I just realized it had no smell! It was the detergent!
I also saw that they sell citric acid in the canning aisles of walmart. it's canning season, so i'll look for that the next time I am out there or my grocery store. until then, I'll try lemishine.
do you use the citric acid or lemonade packets? How do you store yours? I read a lot of comments about it clumping

I use CA that I bought from Amazon. This past tine I poured all of the ingredients in a bowl & used my whisk for a few min & so far no clumping...thanks for the tip about walmart!
