1/13 and 1/14 had unprotected sex, and period started that day but was a lot shorter and lighter then normal. 1/20 was spotting for 2 days. Took an HPT 1/24 (yesterday) that was negative, but not sure if that was too soon to test. Should I wait and take another test? Or is there no way im pregnant? I'm 20, just started night classes on top of a full time job. My husband and I want a baby, I'm just trying to figure out what I should do. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. :pokey:
I would wait to test until AF is due to arrive. Being that your period was just here, to me it seems to early. Fingers crossed you get the answer you want!!
When would your next AF be due? Was your last really light one on schedule? Never say never when it comes to pregnancy. I thought there was no way for myself b/c DH and I didn't DTD except 4 days before ovulation but we're expecting a boy in June! The likelihood for you depends on your cycles. If you are pregnant and it just isn't showing up yet, you should be fine acting normal. I maybe wouldn't go off and get drunk off my kiester if there was any suspicion, but even with that, my cousin was smashed at her wedding and gave birth to a healthy boy 7 1/2 months later.
Next AF should be 2/16. My last one(1/14) was actually a week late( one before that was 12/7), I had unprotected sex around 1/8, so I thought I was pregnant when AF was late. And as far as acting normal, I dont drink, smoke, or go partying. I even stopped drinking any caffeine which is killing me. I' been exhausted lately. Doing nothing but sleeping in my spare time.
For me, my cycle once got wonky and I was exhausted all the time, but it was from thyroid disease, not pregnancy. Your exhaustion could be from cutting out caffeine if you've done that recently. Cycles can get off track for so many reasons though.
If your last cycle started 1/14, I imagine (although there are definitely exceptions to the rule) that you are only getting to the point or have only just ovulated. It hasn't even been 2 weeks since your last AF. Do you track your ovulation at all? Quite a few here use fertilityfriend and there are other sites as well to help you track which might alleviate some wondering if you don't DTD around the time you think you ovulate.
I only had caffeine maybe once a week, don't think it's the cause. I know my cycle is longer then 30 days. But I've never tracked anything. Always been able to tell when AF is starting. Not sure it's related, was cramping when I was spotting as mentioned before. Isn't normal for me, only cramp when I'm running. Thanks for your help.
I've read that in general, most women ovulate about 14 days before the first day of AF. Extreme generalization and it can vary a lot.
In my opinion, you're probably just way too early to tell if you're pregnant or not.
If you had sex right before AF, then I seriously doubt you're pregnant. Even your timing with your last cycle (dtd on 1/8) doesn't have a high likelihood of producing a pregnancy. If your cycles are normally 28-30 days long, you're probably fertile somewhere between cycle days 11 and 18. (Cycle day one is the first day of your period.) Given the dates you guys dtd, it looks like it was way out that range. Of course, nothing is foolproof and sometimes ovulation is delayed due to stress or illness (which may have been why your AF was late this month) but it still doesn't look like your dtd dates match up with that either. :hugs:
