Hey Girls,

So its for real.....So I went yesterday to get my hCG blood test for pregnancy. I could not wait until my first OB appointment next week.

Results: POSITIVE; hCG quantitative count is 6,881.

Hee hee....its for real and now I am getting nervous...I have butterflies :eyebrow:

Good for you! My appt. is Oct. 17. I don't know how I will wait! I'm already nervous because I don't have any symptoms at all (except missed period and a BFP, of course!). Maybe exhaustion, but it's hard to say cuz I'm a law student and generally tired anyway.

I guess I was nervous for the lack of symptoms also. I think I have them in my head :) but not really. I feel great. But I am much more emotional than normal...not sure if that counts because I can be a softy at times already not being pregnant.

IF YOU CAN'T WAIT and IF you are in Baltimore, MD just an FYI. You can go to MD General Women's Healthcare Assoc. (410-225-8991) or to their off site at Mt.Royal Medical Assoc. (410-225-8855). They don't even care if you have insurance or not; they don't even ask you about it.

It's FREE. And I was in and out in less than 15 mins. And then they give you a telephone number to call the next morning after 10 am....AND BAMMMMMM you get your hCG levels and have your confirmation. JUST AN FYI :)

If you aren't in Baltimore, MD, maybe they have the same thing in your city...won't hurt to check it out.

Wow, that's cool! I don't get a blood test until later!

I didn't have any symptoms with my first until 6.5 weeks and then BAM, I was sick and wishing I still didn't have any symptoms, LOL. Just wait, they are coming!

I just could not wait.... Even though it was not at my OB's office, I still wanted to go. I will get a hard copy of the results and take it next week to my 1st OB appointment on Wednesday just in case they want it.

BTW: I have been praying for little to no horrible symptoms. Also I have asked for no thick nose, or thick ankles and feet. Hopefully, I am not miserable when the symptoms pop up. If so, you know I will be sharing with everyone on APA :) However, I will take a little bigger breasts :eyeroll:

So, my appointment with my OB isn't until Nov. 7th. I've got an appointment with the nurse practitioner October 23rd though. Is it normally so long a wait?

Also I have asked for no thick nose

What?!! Does pregnancy make your nose grow?:shocker:

At my appointment, they do 1st appointment between 6-10 weeks. Of course, I wanted the earliest I could get.

How far along are you? Whats your LMP?

My DH keeps saying my nose will get HUGE. I am a size 4 now and not big anywhere on my body presently. And my nose is an average size, so I hope that symptom bypasses me.

And yes, I have heard others tell me the same thing...I have even seen it in a few of my friends and family members. A huge nose is not all that cute :ohno:

I think I'm between 4 and 5 weeks. I wasn't keeping careful track of my periods and of course I don't remember! I remember I was finished with my period by Memorial Day, but only recently finished. I'm picking Thursday August 28th as my LMP, but it could be earlier. That's ok, first babies are usually late anyway, right?

Oh ok. Well, you should be fine.

I don't know if they are usually late. This is my first. My sweetie better be on time, because I am anxiously waiting :)

I'm fairly sure it's Last Menstral Period.

Would one of you wanna give us a list of common shorthands? I'm new to this pregnancy and especially pregnancy forums stuff!

LMP is last menstrual period. That is what is used to calculate your due date even before you have an U/S. You should use the 1st day of your LMP to do the calculation. You can go on google and look up "Due Date Calculator". Just plug in the numbers and it will do all of the work for you.

Not a problem. I was like WHAT!? with some of the responses when I joined last week. Don't worry you will pick up fast. It only been about 1 week for me since I joined.

For common shorthands-----Go under the main part of this forum and chose at the top: Read First, User Help & APA Information. Then look at Acronyms and Abbreviations. There are a lot of them on there. Other ones that are not, I usually google if I am unfamiliar :) I am a google queen :)

Thanks! I checked it out. You think with a title like, "Read First" I would've, but I was to excited to meet some other mommies with similar due dates!

Wow! I read somewhere that only about 5% are born on their due date! That's cool. Almost everyone I know was born at least a day late. Or a month early--go figure.

I did not read it first either.

I just starting racing through the other forums to see what I could find. Hee hee. I was definitely excited too.... still am.

Actually, when I am on the phone with my DH and he hears silence on my end, he quickly asked if am on the "pregnancy site". I giggle and say yes

I love this site. Everyone is so nice and I truly believe this site is helping me through the process....esp since its so new for me.

My nose grew with my first, but I didn't even realize it until I was looking back on pictures. And then it went back down.

But my feet- UGH! They were so swollen and terrible. I'm not looking forward to that, I could only wear one pair of flip flops!

I love this site, I got hooked on it with my first pregnancy.
