Okay, I'm starting a new APA BF forum tradition. I want to nominate an APA Mama Booby of the Week :P

This week it's Christie070184 for sticking with her intuition about her little girl, having the chutzpah to get through a tough few weeks of learning how to BF and teaching her little girl how to do it.

I had to have a c-section and they dosed me so heavily I felt nothing from the neck down for almost an hour, and I could only move my right hand and wrist. DH knew how important it was to me to start nursing/skin to skin as soon as possible, so he arranged my arms as best as he could and held Eamonn to my breast. Thankfully Eamonn is a natural and Daddy has good coordination :D

These are not APA members, but I really have to nominate two Mama Boobies of the week. Jacob has been REALLY sick; suspected RSV, cough, cold, wheezing, pinkeye, stomach bug, you name it – he had it these last two weeks. He has been on nebulizer treatments for over a week now. The Thanksgiving weekend he cluster nursed, then all of a sudden Monday he REFUSED to do it. He went on a complete nursing strike. Since we have a hospital grade pump at work I opted not to buy a great one at home so I just have the Playtex electric double pump (It SUCKS and not in a good way) and it was in no way keeping up to having to exclusively pump for a few days, plus I didn’t know how long tis strike would last. The nurse at work (who has a 10 month old herself) went home and got her OWN PISA and let me borrow it! :shocker:Can you believe such generosity? She is still pumping and nursing but does not really need to pump outside of work anylonger. My neighbor also brought over her PIS and I can borrow it for as long as I want. She stopped pumping in August and just never got around to listing it on ebay. I am so amazed and so grateful! :wub:

And best of all last night he took the booby again! :silly:
