Megan's thread got me thinking about the convertible cribs/toddler beds.

If you have one, did you eventually convert it into a toddler bed?

yes... thats the toddler bed that Tristyn naps in. However, if I had it to do all over again I would have never bought a crib and waited till we needed the toddler bed since we ended up co-sleeping (she never used the crib version once).

We are still using ours as a crib but plan to convert it.

Does the converted version look as good as it does in the pictures??

We converted to the toddler bed when he learned how to climb out of the crib. I think it's pretty cute. It won't be long until we convert it to the full size bed. I love our convertable crib. It has really helped him transition easily through each stage.

The best hing about our crib converting is that we can side car it to our bed!

Okay, it's still cute.

We have to buy a new crib (I love ours, but it costs too much to ship) and I was wondering if I should just get the cheapest of the lot since she's 9 months old or actually invest in a nice one that we will definitely use to convert.

She looks really comfy in there, so we'll probably end up buying another convertible.

Aww that looks so cute and grown up *sniff* I don't want to have to do it...

she seems to like it. The only problem I see ahead is when we switch to night time sleeping there. Right now we lay down and nurse... I can lay in that with her, but its not easy or comfy. So im tempted to just put a twin on the floor... But Im also determined to get some use out of this crib that I just had to have (thanks to that prego brain way back when...) :silly:

we were going to convert it....but now looks like we just need to buy L his own bed, so we can use the crib for #2...
We'd buy another crib, but there is NWIH (no way in hell) we can afford it.

We have a convertible crib - Abby used the crib part maybe a handful of times for an occassional nap and to start out night time then we moved around a year and never set the crib back up since we've been co-sleeping. Now she just has the twin set up in her room that was in her baby room as well for whenever she moves into her room and the crib matteress is on the floor in our room.

ours does but we won't...new baby will be in the crib as long as possible and then we will just put her in a twin bed like we are going to do for PJ. I think toddler beds are kinda silly and just another way to get $$ out of unsuspecting parents!

We just sold Bella's nursery furniture and bought two new matching cribs for the girls ( I love saying that!!)...they are convertibles..Bella will still be in a crib for a long while I think, but I defniitely plan on converting it to the toddler bed at some point. We'll have to see when she starts walking and how soon she learns to climb out of the crib! She started being in her own room in the crib at 3 months old...the "plan" is to transition Gabby around the same time as well. So we'll get plenty of use out of our convertible cribs.

we didn't get the convertible crib cause I knew I wanted to get Landon a car bed. a friend of mine got the convertible and she hasn't switched it over yet but she notice that the part her daughter was teething on will be the front of the bed once they convert it!
