I cant get into details, but it was AMAZING! all this after I came from the club, we went to watch Jose´s volley final. He lost :(

Mike and I are talking and hanging out. I talked to him about the little tiff his EX and I got into where I told her to mind her own business! And asked him if that had upset him. I told him that I wasn't trying to be rude but I don't play high school games. He said he wasn't upset and could care less what Carla thinks of us going out. He also said he still wanted to go to dinner and a movie some time. He was honest and said the only reason he hasn't asked is because he is having a hard time learning how to juggle his time now that he is a single dad. I know the feeling. LOL So even though things are moving way slow ... I don't mind waiting to see where this is going.

haha... very funny Pam. Holiday in the Pines is a huge fundraiser in the area for the Junior Forum. It's a lot like a Junior League, if you have one. It's the week before Thanksgiving, and vendors from all over come and set up booths. You can almost do all of your Christmas shopping there.

We had an u/s yesterday because Tara's OB wanted to check the size of the baby and position. Well, Tara has lost alot of weight and doesn't have much of a belly, most people don't believe she's very far along. So we go in there expecting the baby to be underweight because her belly is measuring so small and the baby is already 5 lbs 9 oz at 33 wks!!! Not only is he big, but they moved her due date up to Aug 4th from the 19th due to his size! That part freaked me out a little but I mean we know the day we conceived for goodness sakes. Since I had a c-sect I'm an idiot about this stuff. Does that mean since the baby is large they are predicting he will bust out early? Or are they just playing with the due date based on the size and it means nothing? I'm still trying to figure out if we are still on for our due date of Aug 19th which will be exactly 40 wks.

Stacy, this baby was measuring really big at that time too! He is still predicted to be 8.5-9 pounds and they will not let me go past 39 weeks. So, technically, my due date was moved up a week and I'll be induced at that point if I don't have him sooner. Sounds like Tara and I have had very similar pregnancies. I've only gained about 7 pounds total. It's confusing and complicated. I tried to get more info out of the doc on Monday, but she didn't want to talk too much about an induction until next week, and which point we will set a date. AH!!!

I had a realization yesterday about daycare... DH wants to switch the kids to a preeschool, but I had my over protective reaction and wanted to keep them where they are (to avoid the stress of change). But yesterday I was thinking that MAYBE I am depriving them from learning more, because they are in a home daycare (specially Chris)... so we are going to sign them in at the preeschool the week we are on vacation

Okay Gals, need some input. SORRY IT'S SO LONG!!

My parents are driving me insane. For some reason, they seem to think that EVERYONE needs to be at the hospital when I have this baby. With Amanda, I felt like a circus act. There were so many people in my room. They were luckily ushered out just a bit before I hit 10cm. With this one, I've made it clear that my daughter does NOT need to be at the hospital, in fact, DH and I want her schedule and general routine left as normal as possible. My parents think she needs to be there, even if it's 2am. NOT!

So, we are hoping to circumvent this entire fiasco by calling MIL asap and she will be on the first flight in...it's about a 2 hour flight. Plus, DD would be able to stay here at home and hang with the Grandma that she only sees every so often.

I finally broke this news to my parents and they are now arguing that MIL needs to be there too!!! ARGH! I know I need to grow a backbone and just tell them how it is going to be (BTW MIL thinks this is a great plan) but I'm having such a hard time doing that. Both of them are in poor health with my mom just having finished a stem cell transplant to battle cancer and I hate to just let them have it, I would feel like total crap if something happened and the last thing I did was go off. But, talking with them like normal civilized people just isn't working. HELP!!

What do I say? I'm pulling my hair out and it's really making me miserable. I know there are some major control issues at work here.

Ugh Kelly...... can you tell your mom you appreciate her wanting to be there, but you are concerned about Amanda freaking out at the hospital (my DD did big time) and it would be best for AMANDA if she stays home with her regular routine, and go visit on decent hours?

We did that (of course it was easier with a scheduled c/s). My parents flew on Wednesday, so Dani would get used to them.... Friday early morning Dh and I went to the hospital, called my parents when Chris was here, and they brought Dani in... she freaked out to see me with the tubes and everything, she didn't wanted to get close to me.... anyways, they took her back home so she could take a bath and go to bed at her regular time.... it worked perfect for us and for her.

Ash, I think a Dentist who handles people with fear of dentist is a wonderful option!! :winks:

I think you're totally in the right, Kelly. Keep her routine as normal as possible, and tell them whatevery ou have to to make it as easy as you can for YOU. Amanda needs to be at home on her regular routine. You don't have to freak out on your parents but you are going to have to be firm. Tell them you are thinking of Amanada and want what is best for her and that is NOT to be hanging out for all hours at the hospital.

Its a tough decision Sarah. You are right. I am so practical, I always think of the "what ifs." I need to know my bills and insurance are covered. But very sweet of him to think that way. Moron DH... I sent a lady here a box with baby clothes, for some reason the box was returned back, and it came back today... Dh was at home and told the USPS person to get rid of the box as we will NOT pay for the shipping cost.... UGH!! so I had to call the USPS and tell them to hold the box and I will go get it... My parents are driving me insane. For some reason, they seem to think that EVERYONE needs to be at the hospital when I have this baby. .

All that people with us in the hospital would have been soo stressful for me. No way. But everyone is different , my SIL Andrea has 100 people there, all her family, sisters, cousins aunts :shocker:so my mom and dad went too, Juanma called them saying wont you come? lol they where like, yeah, k will be there in few...when enzo was born I went too since my brotehr forgot his camera, she broke water at a restaurant and they went straight to the hospital :eyebrow: so once I arrived there I just waited ten mins and saw him behind the glass. (at the nursery, dressed up in daddy´s arm)

Thanks for your input ladies. Last time, it was a zoo, and I really, really don't want that again. Luckily, they were all escorted out before I began pushing, but that was 24 hours after getting to the hospital. I'm sure them all staring at me for that entire day did not help my stress level.

I just want DH and I in the room. Period. My dad keeps saying I'm a total pain in the a$$ while pregnant, I guess I'll live up to it.

You guys I need to share this. I have received wonderfull news my family have been waiting for 13 years. I never talked about this here, ever.
My dad was a very important manager of the bigger bank in the city, they didnt want to sell the bank to the goverment president (for cheap) so he ended closing the bank, accusing them from stuff they didnt do. The owners said they only had the owneship in papers and told the attorneys the managers were responsible from every action at the bank. So my dad was accused of been responsible for everything, amoung other managers.
Took his 13 years to prove he wasnt.
Today finally after a zillion tears, prayers and very hard work the judge declared him not guilty.
He lost all the money he saved all his life. And was depressed, thinking he might go to jail someday if he couldnt prove it.
Im crying like a baby and cant express how I feel. How happy I am for him. How blessed I am to have him.
But today this are happy tears.

Hi Ladies! if you don't know already from watching the news or checking the Internet, California is on fire again. I know we are always on fire during the summer arn't we.
Well the latest fire "Gap Fire" is just up the hill from me. Yesterday it was 300 acres, 5% contained and now it's close to 2,500 acres, 5% contained. Yep no typo, it's 5% contained.
We lost power around 7 last night (while I was bathing DD) and didn't get it on till close to midnight! The whole freaking town lost power- that's 150,000 people! :shocker:
Pray that the winds don't change, right now we have the ocean breeze pushing the fire back up the hill but last night it was coming down the hill like hot lava - and I can see it all from my bedroom window!

Well the fire continues to burn and it so smokey around here with all the ash - gotta remember to wash the car once this is all over.
They have cancelled two 4th of July celebrations in town due to the fire. We only have one left - and that might be cancelled too.
To bad for all the tourists that are coming! I heard all the hotels are sold out right now.
DD is at my Mom's house right now out of the smoke at least.

Ok so Thursday we were evacuated and have been at my folks house ever since. It was pretty scary evacuating with no warning. I had just bathed and put DD to bed when I heard the Evacuating message on the radio (battery powered) Our power went out when I was bathing DD. Then I heard the Police on their Bullhorn saying "Manditory Evacuation" in our neighborhood. DH had just gotten home from the grocery store and I told him to get all our important documents (which luckily are all in our fire safe in one place) I was getting all of DD's items and then started on ours. My parents call in the middle of all this and I told them we were being evacuated and were going to their house. We packed the cars in record time, DD was just standing in her crib watching us and didn't freak out a bit! DH put her in my car and said he would see me at my parents house.
I said goodby and prayed that we would all be safe. Ash was falling down on us like snow as we were leaving. I got to my parents house, DH got there a bit later (he had to help some elderly neighbors) and he even remembered to bring our meat that I was marinating!
Things are better now but I'm staying with my folks till most of the ash clears from our area - Don't need DD breathing in all thoes ash particles. The fire is 26% contained and still burning. I went to our place today and the ash on the ground was all over and so thick!
We did have a decent 4th of July though!

We grilled out and let Lex play with sparklers. The wooden ones. Yes, I let him play with fire. I held his little hand the entire time. Scared silly. He loved it, and he kept trying to light the cement... Yesterday, he got to go out on a boat. He had a blast!

I start my technical writing and human sexuality online classes in the morning... Yay.

And I'm having one HECK of a time putting together the both presentation for Heather and my HIP booth. They want it totally set up and photographed. Dh almost told me to call it off last night bcs we don't have any of it bought or anything. Well, come to find out, his grant is up on his certification, and he's still got a class to pay for. He's a nervous wreck.

We didn't had fireworks this year, if we want to see them at the park (the ones sponsored by the city of Orlando) we need to get to the park like around 4-5 pm, and wait until 9:30 pm... that is a lot of time to keep LO under control!!! besides it was raining, so I am not going anywhere when there is rain AND thunder

We went to the pool Saturday, it was fun but only lasted a little bit as a storm was getting close... UGH! I hate the summer weather! Sunday we just cleaned the house (DH vaccum and did laundry:shocker: ) and had a lazy day... ok sort of because the kids were terrors!!

Today is a yucky day, people are getting on my nerves and I just feel like screaming!! the other assistant is on vacations (thank you for letting me know BTW :pokey:) and I am getting all this calls from her customers asking for stuff... her desk is a MESS, piles of papers everywhere, so I cannot find anything (not that I am trying THAT hard :shocker:)

Afternoon ladies! I read all the posts. Nothing new on this end. Spent Thursday running around getting Shelly's car insured and registered. Friday went swimming at my parents house but then it rained in the evening so no fireworks. Ate like a pig all weekend.

Little Shae Lynn is doing amazing her mama doesnt know what to do with such a good baby, Sam was just a miserable baby had ear problems from day one and honestly cried and fussed and was miserable the whole time :( poor little man, had to be rocked bounced and held upright allll the time wore mama and dad out big time so she is sooo thankful little Shae is easier .


Ok just got a call from Dh he had a neuro appt today..she is takin him off ALLL his meds he is on..the chemo and the daily shots (copaxone) i guess he is having lost of aches and muscle pains (thanks for telling me Dh) she is saying its the chemo and wants him off all things and onto Tysabri.. http://www.tysabri.com/tysbProject/tysb.portal its a monthly IV treatment..i just dont know you guys she is doing constant big huge changes all the time..like we cant stick to one thing to see if it works for any amount of time without her jumping on something new ij ust dont know if she knows what she is doing< DH seems to be her guinie pig in all this and it really scares me..i offered again for him to have a 2nd opinion he didnt say yes so waht can i do..i worry so much..

Sarah, I would be concerned as well... I want to believe that it takes the medication a while to set in and show some results, and I don't think I would be comfortable if my doctor was changing me from one medication to the other....:chinscratch:

Hi Gals....I'm still here and still preggo. Ugh.

I woke up at 2am on Saturday with good, solid contractions...really thought I'd be in the hospital by morning. They didn't get any stronger, so I just waited and waited. MIL came into town and they continued. I walked and walked, went to the zoo yesterday. Finally started having lots of pressure on my tailbone, so went on in. Nurse tells me I'm at a 1 and 50% effaced and baby is putting lots of pressure on the cervix, so he is engaged, but no progress, after 40 hours of consistant, good contractions. ARGH!

Went in to see doc this am....(we tried EVERYTHING last night, short of castor oil) and I'm finally at a 2 and still having contractions. She is giving me until Friday at 6am, then it's induction time. I so don't want the pit. DH and MIL went to the store to buy pineapple. Anything else I should try??? I've done the eggplant preamesean (SP?), DTD, walking, raspberry leaf tea.....everything.

Sarah, I would push for Matt to get a second opinion....how hard.

The booth presentation is just a photo of what we want it to look like. I've got some things together, but Michael thinks we shouldn't have to do pictures just to apply. He said, "We can go ahead and do something small and change it as time gets closer, or we could find ones that look like what we're doing and photoshop."

Emily and I are still at my parent's house, DH went back home and took some of our stuff. We will probaby go back with the rest tomorrow or the next day and be back there for good. The fire is about 36% contained and most all the evacuation notices have been lifted.

Yeah the ash was unbelieveable!
DH's early family came from France actually.
My Grandfather and his wife when to Spain recently and brought back the little dress for Emily - It's so cute! They were going to wait till next year to give it to her but my mom convinced them that she will be to big next year and she needs it for this year's Fiesta.
In case you don't know, Santa Barbara has a 4 day party to celebrate our towns spanish roots - known as Fiesta or Old Spanish Days and held the last weekend of July. There are Mercados around town where you can get awesome food, there are parades down our main street - a Children's Parade and the main Fiesta Parade - it's the largest horse parade in the country, there are parties all over town, lots of Dancing (spanish, ballet, flamenco etc...) at our historical buildings, rodeos, etc.... The whole town is in party mode and confetti from the cascarones are on the streets everywhere! It's a huge event.
If you ever come to SB to visit come during Fiesta!
I used to dance (Ballet) down at our courthouse when I was younger, and we always hit the mercados and search out the best tamales.

Yep, I've got a BS from PU. Kinda funny, in my sick, twisted mind. Mine is in social psych and I seriously considered grad school for counseling....changed my mind and went with my heart for education.

I'm feeling okay, I've been contracting since Saturday morning at 2am. I've tried everything to get them to become stronger or something and no luck. Hoping something changes soon. Induction is already scheduled for Friday and I'd much rather do it on my own.

I work in education, so there's no way on the big old green earth that I'll work in it from the other end. lol. I think a counsleing license may work a little better. lol. We don't get to choose which branch of psych we want. I just chose the non-grad track, since the grad school doesn't care. Much easier. Human sex is going to be a good lower level elective.

I hope that things go quickly for you. We need to meet that adorable little one!

Ciara was a week late, and my doc scheduled a c-section. Thank God for Hurricane Wilma and barometric pressure, b/c I had her that day and evaded the c-sec. I tried everything you've listed, and none of it worked. My doc said barometric pressure was a myth...glad she was wrong!
