Its only supposed to be 70 here today, but the humidy in my house is so unbelieveable I had to give in and turn on the AC. We were all so sticky. :( I turned off the air after a 350$ electric bill I just got.

So I am having trouble mattress shopping. When we first moved in together, we went furniture shopping and found a Grand Majesty Cal King mattress in the As Is pile for only $250. It was mis-marked and was actually a $1000 mattress, but they honored the price. When we moved we sold it. So now we need a new mattress and I am having such a hard time paying the $1000 for a good mattress...

Dang me for finding such a good deal the first time!

How funny Sunshine! My husband just asked me last night has Stella ever just fallen asleep anywhere and I thought hard and the answer was no. Unless she's in her car seat, she never ever just falls asleep unless she's in her bed or in my bed or on the boob or being rocked or walked. The girl can be ready to pass out but she just won't crawl up on the couch and fall asleep.

In fact the other night, she was SOOO tired and my husband tried to just walk her to sleep, since we knew she didn't need food, but she just wouldn't go! So I sat back down and said, ok fine. I took out the boob, she laid down with a huge smile on her face, put it in her mouth, smacked ONCE and then spit it out, closed her eyes and nuzzled her chin in with the sweetest little smile on her face. She just needed that final snuggle.

Okay.. I have never been in on this post and it has been going forever so I finally have decided to chime in!
First off, my husband and I have been married 6 years and happier than ever! :D Having a baby really makes you closer..

Also, Jai I just had a 25th annivesary party for my parents in March and it went so well. We went all out and my parents appreciated it so much, and it was so enjoyable! We had a beautiful wedding cake, dancing, and a tribute to the last 25 years with a picture slide show with music playing in the background. We couldn't have made it more memorable for them!

Stella is too cute. Is she wearing tights? I was looking at that car seat the other day also. It was onsale and wanted to buy it but $250.00 is alot of money for us right now to spend, hopefully katie will not out grow her car seat until after Christmas.

Someone said something about Amandas post about the Britax carseats at discount prices??? Please tell me where.

BTW Katie is getting to where she has to have a bottle to go to sleep. I thought something was wrong, so is this a faze or something? She just started about 2 weeks ago. Even when i know she is not hungry I still have to give her a bottle. Normally I just put water in it and after about an oz she is alseep.

Divadlx---Austin rolls into the weirdest positions when he is asleep. We put him to sleep in his back and by morning he is on his tummy with his face pressed into the mattress and up against the bumper as close as he can get. I get really worried when I see him like that, but he keeps finding his way back to that position.

Jai

It depends on the day/time/attitude where Pey goes to sleep. Most of the time though she only likes her swing or crib. Very rarely does she fall in my arms, and only sometimes in her car seat. :)

Stella is too cute!! and I love the bedding too
Dani sleeps on the most uncomfortable positions, I swear the times she wakes up crying is because her arms or legs are numb!!

About the Britax carseats, yes they are pricy, but if you consider you will use them until 65 lb, that is the ONLY car seat you would need... after that they need a booster seat that maybe is about $20. If you buy a carseat that is good until 40lb, then you will need another one between that and the booster... that was our main argument to buy the Britax (I have the Decathlon)

Every morning after Peys bottle, I lay her on her bedroom floor on a blanket with her toys while I get Marissa ready for school. She loves it. when me and my sister were probubly 17 and 20 we were driving to another city to look at tattoos...well as we were leaving town we saw thsi guy onthe side of the road thumbin it...so my sister who is the biggest straight laced girl in the world says "he doesnt look so bad" i laughed and said "shoudl we turn around and get him" she said "sure"

ok so i flip the car around and we pick this guy up..he was clean cut and had this black duffle bag with him..welll holy crap i was a nervous wreck the whole drive which was an hour..it turned out he was a wrestleing coach from Oregon and he had his high school boys there for a meet..he has rented a car to go visit his grandma and it broke down so he was trying ot get back to the wrestleing meet. he offered to take us out to eat and asked us to come to the wrestling to meet the team..well we declined but he was super nice.

woudl i do it again..NO WAY..it was so nerve wracking..everytime that guy woudl reach into his duffle bag to show us something i thought for sure he was going to pull out a gun..i kept leaning closer and closer to the door wondering what would happen to me if i had to jump out..

It was scary at first, but this hitchike system (called sluggin) has been around for about 25 years and some have been doing it for just as long. Since we're all commuters we see the same people everyday!!

So do you stand out there with your thumb wavin' at passing folks? Do you then share gas money?

Wow. Who'da thunk it.

Nah, no thumbs. And it's free!

How it works: There is a line of cars waiting for passengers. You walk up to the car, ask where they're going. If they pass within 2 blocks of my office then I get in! I have two rules - I only get into cars that have atleast 1 other female in them, and I don't wait around in an empty parking lot. I also note who is a bad driver, or a talker, or who listens to really bad music, and I make sure to never get in their car!! Always an adventure getting into work....

So anyway, can someone share a good, easy recipe to make for dinner tonight? I have absolutely nothing in the fridge, and have to go to the g-store on my way home.

This is like my SIL. Her brain works faster than her mouth -- she talks SUPER fast, and gets caught up on her words.

A friend of mine had a son who was tongue-tied. He was 3 years old and had great difficulty expressing himself - couldn't understand any of his words. Got an operation - now I think he's in 2nd grade and is super smart, quite eloquent.

I love this fall weather too. It's fabulous. It was mid 70's today so DH and I took Caiden for a nice long walk for a couple hours. We played in the shade under the trees, walked around the lake, played at the park. This time of year makes me happy.

I guess I had a very caring DH that night. TMI - ok? I was getting ready to "O" and he didnt want to stop and ruin it for me, he thought he could hold it. But then realized he couldnt after he already started. See, told ya it was TMI.

Im partly wondering if it was a little of a slip up on purpose. Since now hes tellin me he wants another one and is excited. And doesnt really want to wait til next June. And since hes known Im ready again now. Of course, he wouldnt admit that. :D

DIVADLX
09-26-2006, 12:11 PM
Yes he is.. but he is patient.

Well. we didn't monkey around from 3 weeks before Stella was born because we didn't want to make her come early. Then for about 2 months PP I was still healing and not sleeping and really, the last thing I wanted was sex. Then we hit a rough spot in our marriage and I didn't want any... then that was worked out and we decided to move so between packing, working and caring for Stella we were both totally pooped. Actually sex in Hawaii was not all it cracked up to be. Its so hot that before anything even gets started you're both sweaty and gross. I HATE sweating and feel my least attractive covered in sweat.

BUT the biggest problem has been birth control. I have always had a very tight hold on my fertility and ALWAYS have a minimum of 2 pieces of protection in place, and one of them was that we would abstain during the fertile time. But since BF'ing I don't know when that is anymore. I don't want to mini-pill or anything else because I am SO afraid of milk supply issues. Anyway, I am getting more regular and also a little less control freakish about the whole thing.

So now we're here and things are looking up. I think nookie is near.

My mom likes to tell me that he's a handsom man and if I don't give it soon, he'll find it somewhere else. Thanks mom.

PS - not in a million years would he... he is my best friend above everything and I am his, and that's not the kind of thing best friends do!

Yeah, after Stella was born, my drive was negatory. It's been kicking up since the move, but not nearly what it was before Stella.

I don't know about you girls, but a little part of it for me is that I worry about having a let down in the middle of it.

I think part of it too is that my whole body has been redefined since Stella. My breasts are now food sources, and the rest just doesn't seem like mine really.

Oh and while I type this Stella is kindly unpacking the soda cans from the carton. She is surrounded by cans of diet Cream Soda and diet Root Beer.

geebee
09-26-2006, 12:43 PM
ah ladies, I just had to chime in here! I am in the "no sex drive" club too. Didn't have any nookie last 3 mos of pregnancy, that almost killed my DH. After Lia was born, the last thing I wanted to do was have sex. But really, taking care of Lia (or children in general) requires your entire devotion - something's gotta give, right? In my case, it was taking care of my & DH's physical needs....

MarchMommy

Jai
09-26-2006, 01:03 PM
LOL, No I dont think anyone has ever died from lack of sex.

I dont get it either. I can understand the want for it, but how in the world it becomes a need is beyond me. And Dh "needs" it like twice a day. Although, he has to get it from himself.

I have this thing where I only like to at night. Not in the morning and not during the day. And with DHs work schedule the weekends are the only time its even possible.

Stella is so funny and just the cutest thing.

Well my Dh is backwards. He is the one who doesn't want it. We went through a really rough spot and I did and sometimes still do think that he lost his drive since I have gained weight. Who knows he anit saying why he lost it. I on the other hand could have sex at least 3 times a week (yes i know that is not alot but still).

The last time we BDed Katie woke up during it and we had to hurry up while she cried. LOL!!! Not so romantic huh??

I have a stupid question. So the pull out and pray method means exactly what it says right??? During sex before he 'shoots' you pull out and pray nothing leaked right??? The reason why I am asking is because we did this and normally always do this. I didn't think about being able to get preggy this way. I guess I better buy some protection huh??

I don't see what is the point of doing something just to get the release that an orgasm brings... what about the "making love" part??

Either way, what creeps me the most is that I have to understand that he has "needs".... but he cannot understand that I have no sexual desire... ugh!!!, and then he says "I want you to have a good O".... hello??? not interested here!!!

At night you've just brushed yur teeth, you're relatively clean, often freshly showered and smelling nice... in the morning you're all full of funk!

I think men just get it in their heads that its a "need" to get us to feel bad when they don't get it. I feel bad for hubby because he doesn't push, but I know he wants it - it makes me want to give it to him.

If he pressured me or made it my "duty" - forget about it.

MM - they used to beg him? Oh what a line!!!! Did you laugh at him? :)

well i have bad news....my grandfather died this morning. he had prostate cancer a few years ago, and it ended up coming back and spreading. he had a heartattack two saturdays ago, was in ICU, and we all went up to say 'goodbye' to him last sunday. they wouldnt let him see the babies (my brother also has a 2 year old) so we were going to take the babies down this sunday to see him because basically he went home to die, but he passed away this morning. he was in alot of pain and basically begging to die..

so ill be on and off, cause the funeral/visitation is two hours away.
i think the visitation is tomorrow and the funeral will be friday!!

say some prayers for my family...he was a very highly respected man in his community, he was a pastor, ran a battered womens shelter and gave alot to the underprivledged kids in the community. he was a good man!!

Christi - how long were your grandparents married? Is your grandmother healthy too? Must be hard for her - I mean on the one hand she has lost her life partner, but often in situations with long illnesses, there is an element of relief - relief that the person is finally out of pain, but also a personal relief that the wait is over AND also it is exhausting to take care of a sick person.

Anyway, I can't imagine losing my husband now, and we've only known each other for 9 years. In 50 years he'll be such a part of me, that I don't know that there'll really be a distinguishing line between us.

Claudia, just curious. Since you grew up in Mexico and now live in FL, have you ever experienced winter? I had a college roommate from CA, and until she moved to DC she had never even felt snow before. She was in total amazement. I've always lived in the NE, so I totally take the cold weather and snow and ice for granted. Heck, I HATE the stuff by February!
