Good news Pam, I am glad he called and that the mom is OK....
See??? there was a good explanation for him not calling!!
Now don't freak out if he doesn't call you often, I am sure this was a BIG scare for him, and it is natural that he wants to check on his mom (which only shows he is a keeper if he is so concerned about his mom)
Are you breathing now???? 8-)
I have to open 30 checking accounts and our software SUCKS... why oh why do I work here???? oh yes, the salary!!!:chinscratch:

Bleck.. claudia I hate when I have to work! LOL And yes I am breating a little more easy it was nice to hear his voice. I just hope his mom is ok. And I am a lil pissed at my mom and dad now.. hind sight and all! Ugh!
I need to think of some thing heathly for dinner! I have to groom so I will be tempted to cook a dollar pizza.

Pam, I think your parents are only trying to protect you from another heart break. They just have a very very poor way of showing that they care and they are concerned about you

Hey all, just checkin in to say hi so you all don't forget about me. Work is crazy and we are going out of town tomorrow to spend the weekend with Tara's folks because her mom's bday was this week. Hope you all have a great weekend and maybe next week will be a little slower for me.
Glad all's well with Rod and his Mom!
Loved all the pics Bel and Sarah!
Ash, please eat some thin mints for me....:hissy:

well well, you Lynn dont call me party animal, but I have a bday dinner of one of my GF tonight at 9pm, and is my BIL´s bday as well (thanks God we confirmed first to my GF so I dont have to go to his if I dont want, hate that man...but there will be a bbq at his LOL) and tomorrow, I have other of my GF baby shower! nothing to do at night but O is almost convincing me to go to the movies (tomorrow the sitter stays home, she goes out every other weekend) and sunday juan, andrea, stefi and enzo come for lunch, so I always cook for the entire family a fancy meal...eekkk Ill go home by noon today, since is friday and saratu makes me jealous:laugh:
Is gonna be an interesting week end YAY!
Momto3
02-22-2008, 07:34 AM
Yay for partying Bel! Sounds like fun.
I'm glad its Friday as well. Been a long week for only being 4 work days....
Oooo I have a question. I have a coral colored suit and I don't know what color shoes to wear with it. I know its early yet but Easter will be here at the end of next month and I can wear spring colors after that. (I don't wait for Memorial Day, I live in Fla.)

I'm here with you, Pam. My mom called me with the flu last night all upset that we're not coming down. Dad won't let me. He said the baby doesn't need the flu.
Lynn~ You could wear coral, lol, or ivory/taupe, or black. That'd be my guess.
Have fun at all those great parties, Bel!!
You HAVE to try the lemonades, girls. Find a girl scout and buy them out.
I realized I had forgotten to pay lex's tuition on the 10th. Paid it this morning. They were so nice aobut it.
My cousin and I are throwing her sister a shower on march 29th at their mom's house. I'm making a diaper cake with all the leftover size ones I have. Any ideas on what to do?
Dude, Quaker Simple Harvest is sooo yummy.

02-22-2008, 08:00 AM
Lynn, I am the worse when it comes to shoes... what about some beige or light brown shoes????
YES IT IS FRIDAY!!!
So I had a conversation with DH about that post from the NPR article (about kids not having make belief time nowadays) and he pretty much said "well that is how it is"... I told him "wow, you are so negative!!".... it still amazes me how much of a :dunno: oh well attitude he has, and how little he is willing to change things :eyeroll:
Then my FIL called to confirm our tax return, and DH's question was "where do we spend it?"... ummm HELLO?? what about SAVING money???
I am going to get a toy thing for the kids and that is it, everything else that he wants me to "spend" will go to a savings account...
when this things happen, I am always left thinking if I can live with someone whose goals in life are so far from mine???
So I just got the news that the other assistant is not coming today, yes I know she is sick, but a phone call to me would have been appreciated.... guess I am wearing the invisible cloak again today :eyebrow:

OK so I am trying to think of ways to keep my mind off Rod. Its been almost 24 hours since we talked and I know thats no reason for me to freak! He said he would call last night and didn't  seems to be a bad habbit of his but then yet... maybe he was with his daughter. I am not wigging over it but still I do miss him! I hate not knowing when I will see him next. So I wrote this... LOL
The Phone
It sits there taunting me
Teasing me…
Never ringing
Yet I know on the other end is a voice
A voice I want to hear
Yet it never rings….
The silence of the phone is killing me!
24 hours it has been since I have heard that voice on the other end.
To look at the phone it seems so innocent black and silver
Who could guess that this little object could be so cruel?
Sitting there taunting me
Teasing me….
Never ringing!

Hey ladies!! it is Monday again :crossed:
I have 2 kids with runny noses, great!! I wish I could stay home with them.... Dani was so sleepy this morning she didn't wanted to get up, she climbed back to bed and started saying "no"... it broke my heart because I could tell she was tired, so I started crying and apologizing to her.
Chris is Ok, he is getting 2 more teeth, so that makes 4 on top, 2 on bottom... he tried fish this weekend and he really liked it
Weekend was blah!! I got to play with my kids, so that is always good, but things at home are not so great, DH is back to his old self, and I cannot even talk about it because all he does is get upset about my feelings... yeah I have a wonderful DH
But we called my parents and Dani was talking to them, and they are ready to come in April, with my sisters, to celebrate Chris' birthday!!! I am excited
In another note, this next weekend is Sk's bday, so Dh is throwing him a party on a park, and he hasn't involved me on ANYTHING, so guess what I am going to do at the stupid party??? YUP, NOTHING!!! I will take care of my 2 LO, and let him deal with everything else
Pam you talk to me in Im when you feel alone, I dont like to come here and feel lonely, so I just work all morning lol
Clau Im sorry about the babies and DH again! but :yeehaw: about aprin you will have a blast having your parents AND sisters there!!! how fun!
Sad your DH doesnt ask you to be involved in his DS b-day plann but is a relief in the other hand LOL
newmami
02-25-2008, 09:22 AM
Oh I am not complaining about not being involved... it just sucks not being acknowledge...
But hey, I made breakfast AND lunch Sunday, and didn't got a Thank you either... so I am getting used to the being invisible
So the jerk at work had a talk with me on Friday and gave me this SUPER LAME excuse on why he is so neurotic about things.... he NEVER apologized for the comment, he gave me an explanation on why I NEED to understand the way he works and pretty much suck it up :wtf::crossed:... so yeah, this is how much I care about him and his crap....
Good Lord, men just bring me headaches... maybe I should stay away from them for a while!!

Where is everybody?? this place is dead :(
A Holiday no one mentioned to me??
Ok so I am going to run this through you ladies:
I was thinking about all the holidays that you crazy americans celebrate, and all the traditional things you do, like the Easter Baskets... I am not used to doing those things because we don't do them in Mexico... so I kept wondering if me not doing them meant depriving my kids from something?? are they going to compare notes in school and be teased because the Easter bunny hates them?? I told DH and he said it was best to do "when in Rome..." but I am stuck on the reason why some things are done (Easter is my biggest issue, what is the meaning of the bunny and the egg dying and hunting??) and would like to understand...
So, am I depriving by not doing things the American way, or is DH wrong again????
God, I need a "Living in the US for dummies"8-)
Jenny
02-25-2008, 01:25 PM
Many of our traditional holiday's have religion tied in with them. Like the Easter basket. I am not religious, so I don't call it Easter basket, or Easter Bunny. It's the Spring Basket, Spring Bunny, etc...
I love celebrating all the little holiday's with my kids b/c they enjoy it so much. I still am in awe at how much Haley loved Valentine's Day this year. She was more excited for V-Day than she was for Christmas.
Momto3
02-25-2008, 01:26 PM
I wouldn't describe it as you "depriving" the kids of anything. I don't think they will be teased but they may question you when they are old enough as to why we don't celebrate this or that. Make sense?
I recon the Easter Bunny, eggs and baskets to Easter as Santa Clause, Rudolph and presents are to Christmas.
There is a religious portion to both holidays but I think these are the more secular celebration of it.
ETA: I love that it is just another way to celebrate with the kids!

I wouldn't describe it as you "depriving" the kids of anything. I don't think they will be teased but they may question you when they are old enough as to why we don't celebrate this or that. Make sense?

See that's my point. It honestly annoys me how everything is comercialized, and mostly take the religious side of holidays to replace it with "buy buy buy".
In my house, Easter and Christmas were about being with family and ALWAYS the religious meaning, specially Easter...
I am doing the baskets as a spring thing, but I REFUSE to tell my kids about the Easter bunny.... and to compensate, I will also have them celebrate "my" holidays, like the 3 wise men day!!!
Thanks for the input... now how do I get rid of DH???
yep I think that too, but I dont get what would hurt? as Jenny I have so much fun celebrating stuff, even if we dont have as many holydays as in the states...but I love to, what the heck I even celebrated Hallooween :D

Claudia, I was raised in the US and my parents NEVER got us an Easter basket. Now we did get to color and hide eggs but that was just for fun and because we loved to do crafts with my mom. On the other hand.... I will be getting Morgan some thing special for her Easter basket to do with her eggs this year because I love to shop LOL.
Rod and I just talked. He got the job he applied for. Its a good and bad thing. Its just 4 miles from his house (good for him bad for me LOL) and it does pay better good for us both. LOL His mom is in recovery right now and he hasn't talked to the DR so he doesn't know if they did stints or not but he should know in about an hour or so. He seems to think she is doing much better and will be just fine. On the other hand I can tell by the way he was talking that he is really tired and emotionaly wore out. He said he is ready to be off this emotional ride! He is coming over for dinner tomorrow night. Sh.... Morgan is spending the night with my mom. :)

Ugh! So Katelyn is STILL in our room for lack of any place else for her to sleep. She is in her own crib. But especially on the weekends it is usually just the three of us cuz the teens have places to go and people to see.
Do you know how strategically hard it is to have sex with a baby in the room without her being aware or seeing anything? If I wait until she is asleep at night...I usually am too. Poor DH. :ohno::eyebrow:
AND I'm getting my hair cut on Saturday...really short cuz I can't stand this mop! I can't wait!

So what is one supposed to do when Dh is not available for talking regarding the children? every time I want to talk to him, he feels like I am accusing him and he gets all upset and argues, or then he thinks he has the whole truth and doesn't allow me to get my point through... or then he told me "I don't have the right to complain" about certain things (and I would not anymore, it is useless....)???
We don't talk anymore unless it is stupid stuff, and it is usually me starting the conversation... isn't it weird??
Now I understand why people go and have affairs.......

Bel, I'm so excited!!!!! I just brought the slip to work today and I was going to call the post office and yell at someone. Please let me know asap if you get it and what you think!!!!!

Claudia... have fun teaching Dani the happy birthday song! And the dinner was supposed to be tonight.
Rod and I talked on the phone for like 30 minutes last night. For him to talk on the phone that long is a big deal. We talked about tonights dinner and how we were both looking forward to it blah blah blah then today when I got to work he was waiting for me on IM and this is how that went
Rod Wallace: I'll have to play it by ear today. I can't leave today until mom wakes up
Pam Scott: the time by ear?
Rod Wallace: They may rush her into surgery in a little bit if her bleeding doesn't stop
Pam Scott: What did she have done?
Rod Wallace: She had bybass surgery
Rod Wallace: But there is bleeding from somewhere
Rod Wallace: She has already had several blood tranfusions
Pam Scott: Wow... I didn't know. You never told me
Rod Wallace: I just didn't want to worry anyone
Pam Scott: I feel kind'a lost right now So I know you must feel a little crazy
Pam Scott: I think this is all making me feel a little guilty
Rod Wallace: Yes/I have to pick up my sister this afternoon
Pam Scott: OH,,, Rod
Rod Wallace: As long as we are all there we can make it
Rod Wallace: I will pick up Holland from school after I pick up Rhonda from the airport
Pam Scott: I don't know what to say ... and what I want to say is the wrong thing to say..
Pam Scott: WAIT!!!
Pam Scott: hold the phone
Pam Scott: if your picking up Holland how are we going to get together tonight?
Rod Wallace: I don't know yet/Not sure if I can yet
Rod Wallace: I'm sorry
Rod Wallace: I just can't leavve until I know she is stable
Rod Wallace: I just don
Rod Wallace: t want to leave if something happens
Pam Scott: Rod ... I know! I am just torn between my fear for you and your mom and my want/need to see and be with you. Your family comes first I know that 100% but it doesn't ease the hurt. I don't know if that makes any since at all
Rod Wallace: I just have to play it by ear. I would feel distraut if I left and something happens
Pam Scott: I know. I really do... and things would be a little different if I knew your family and could come up and see you and support you
Rod Wallace: I slept at the hospital last night and I am exhausted
Rod Wallace: I know but that will change soon
Pam Scott: I am so sorry
Pam Scott: I feel helpless
Rod Wallace: THey brought a bed in so I could rest
Pam Scott: Thats still not good rest
Pam Scott: What time does your sister get in
Rod Wallace: She gets in about noon and then we are going to take Holland out earl
Rod Wallace: y
Pam Scott: I am glad she is coming in so your not alone
Rod Wallace: I know buy it brings back bad memories
Pam Scott: I am sure.
Rod Wallace: Thad is feeding my dog and fish so I don't have to worry about that
Pam Scott: Now I so wish I hadn't come into work
Rod Wallace: Why
Pam Scott: I wish there were some thing I could do
Pam Scott: I am heart broken for you
Rod Wallace: Nothing we can do but wait
Pam Scott: I am 100% girl and now feel my emotions so torn
Pam Scott: and if I am feeling this way... then I know you feel bad
Rod Wallace: Chris, Clint and Judd will be up today when my sister gets in
Pam Scott: Rod... your telling me your not comming without saying.
Pam Scott: Go ahead and tell me...
Pam Scott: Its OK
Rod Wallace: I just don't want to leave her/It hurts too much
Rod Wallace: I have cried too much
Pam Scott: Well... if it were not for the fact that your sister is coming in I would come to you so at least we could get away for dinner for an hour or so
Pam Scott: Rod I really don't mind
Pam Scott: I need to feel like I am doing some thing for you
Rod Wallace: I appreciate that but I don't think anyone will want to leave but I will let you know. I am using a internet line in the hospital. Hope I don't get in trouble
Pam Scott: I'll just call the baby sitter and call it off. Its hard but its life...I care for you enough to wait until you are ready to let me in
Rod Wallace: I will stay in touch today
Pam Scott: thanks please do
Rod Wallace: Ok/I need to eat breakfast. The nurses brought me in a tray
Pam Scott: k I am here when/if you need me
Rod Wallace: Thanks and I will talk to you later
Pam Scott: k
Pam Scott: bye sweetie
Rod Wallace: bye sweetie
Part of me is holding on to the hope he is coming. but I know he isn't! I am torn hurt and feeling guilty for being a little upset about the whole thing! I hate feeling like I am about to burst into tears and I hate it that I will have to call my mom and tell her I don't need her to watch Morgan.:hissy:

Pam, I don't know him, but it seems to me that he is very very stressed and concerned about his mom... you mentioned his dad was sick and passed, right? I am sure he is having horrible flash backs and he cannot deal with them... from the conversation, seems that his mind is ONLY with his mom and him being there for her... was he away when his dad passed?? I sense a little bit of guilt of him "not being there if something happens"... maybe he was not there for the dad and he cannot forgive himself???
Seems to me that he doesn't have a brain for anything, not even to think the logistics of picking up his DD and sister... he is not thinking clear, his mind seems to be clouded with the mom being sick and maybe other internal demonds
Please don't take it personal Pam, this is beyond him... you have NOTHING to do with it, he is dealing with the situation in a weird way, but only God knows exactly how he is feeling.
I know it is hard, but try to give him some room, let him be the one who contacts you this week.... he obviously needs to be with mom, and he NEEDS to be there for her 24/7, it is important for him and you have to understand or at least respect that, he will appreciate you for that
So, my guess is probably he would not be there for dinner, and YES it sucks big time!! but again, it is not you, it is whatever demonds he is dealing with his mom being at the hospital. Make a yummy dinner and have fun with Morgan, and keep yourself distracted... if your mom asks, tell her that Rod's mom is not well and he needs to be at the hospital, AND DON'T LET HER TELL YOU HE IS GIVING YOU THE SLIP!!
HUGS

I agree with all claudia said..when someone goes through a tough time like this their brains are alllll over the place..so i would let him contact you next and go from there..when this all clears over you both can focus on yoru relationship again..
LADIES 3 more days and i start my HEALTH KICK!! i am actually pretty excited..my mom called me last week and said I HAVE A CHALLENGE...and we are going to eat better adn excersize and at the end of the month have a weigh off and whoever lost more weight gets treated to lunch by the looser.. :) i would like to get toned before summer and knock off my extra 15 lbs

Besides, who would like to read my daily rants???????
As for the scrapbook class, I would say it depends on the audience. Are this new people or experienced one? for new people I would go to the basics and explain how to start scrapbooking, and tell them how you fell in love with it... I have wanted to make scrapbooks forever, but 1) I don't have time and 2) I am not very creative, and I get stuck on what to do, meaning ZERO IDEA when I am standing at Michaels on the scrapbook isle!!!

EEK!! Can I brag for a second!!
My professor nominated me for an ALA award and just sent me this little snipet that she wrote about me :)
Jennifer enrolled in my face-to-face course, LIS 6544 Organization and Administration of the School Media Center, in fall 2007 where she blossomed. Her written assignments and thought provoking questions and comments demonstrated her intelligence as an independent thinker, yet her kindred spirit manifested itself positively with other students and her professor. Such characteristics are vital for a potential leader and I personally see Jennifer as a future pacesetter in the library profession.
Currently, Jennifer is enrolled in LIS 6564 Materials for Children, a course I teach in blended format – a combination of face-to-face sessions and online instruction. After grading her first major assignment and reading her initial weekly responses on the discussion board, I am again aware that Jennifer has set lofty educational goals for herself.
What has impressed me most about Jennifer, however, is her ability to manage time wisely and to face daily challenges without complaining. She is the mother of three small children, all under the age of five and not once has she requested additional time to complete an assignment or missed class because of her demanding responsibilities. She often shares with the class her enjoyment of reading many of the books to her children that she has selected to include in her reading project. Jennifer has promise and she is a model for other students to emulate.
I envision Jennifer as a person who will be among the top graduates of our program and I believe she exemplifies the characteristics you are seeking among scholarship applicants. It is my hope that Jennifer will be given the highest consideration during the selection process and that she will be announced as one of the worthy recipients of an ALA scholarship.

Then a bag full of candies, jewelry, a bottle opener and other little things. And then there was this gorgeous paper cutting. She said it takes half a year to make one and it's all done by hand. dh's so beside himself that he got such a beautiful gift. I'll have to take pics tonight for you.

Morning ladies
Stacy, sorry about the car issues... :wtf: I hope it is not too expensive to repair
(I also need to take mine to service, waiting on the tax refunds!!)
It is cold and windy in here!! I had to bundle my 2 little ones.... what hurt the most was waking them up, both of them were dead sleep... maybe it is because they decided to wake up and chat at 3:30 am :eyebrow:
DH and I were talking yesterday about a mini vacation for the 4 of us, and he asked me if things were getting better... so I spilled EVERYTHING out, and told him I was frustrated about the whole situation and the vicious cycle we are stuck in... he got scared because he thought I was telling him "this is it", he actually asked if I wanted him to leave.... so we had a very long conversation about how I feel and how it hurts me that he is not very sympathetic or caring with me... he made comments that made me feel better, and next year we are switching to his insurance, so I am free to leave here if needed. He also told me that he admires me as a parent, and that I am doing a wonderful job and the kids are well behaved because of me :gome:... almost as nice as that letter Jenny got!!
Anyways, things are better now and we are both going to work on the relationship, not just me... add that I am about to hire a maid to come clean my house... life is getting better!!

02-27-2008, 10:51 AM
Thanks for asking Claudia... I am feeling a little hopless and negitive but its just because there isn't any thing I can do right now but sit and wait. On the other hand ... I have been honest with myself and realized even if its over between Rod and I (and he really hasn't said that at all) it has been worth the heart ache! He tought me so much about me and he reminded me what its like to be loved and adored by some one. I had almost given up on myself and her reminded me I am worth fighting for. So for now... I am just waiting to see how it plays out. Its all I can do. I go through waves of sadness as if I am morning his loss but it is getting much better and I keep telling myself think about how happy you will be the next time you all see each other because of this absents. :) I hurt but... it was so worth it!

02-27-2008, 11:05 AM
Pam, I am saying this will all the love in the world because I care for you and don't want you to ruin a good thing......
You have to chill out with Rod and give him some space right now.
I am a very needy and clingy person and have driven a few good people away because I want to smother them, especially in the beginning. Fortunately for me, Tara was so patient and put up with my crap until time passed and I knew I could trust her and had nothing to worry about.
From what you've told us, Rod hasn't done anything wrong, so until he does, you've got to trust him and give him the benefit of the doubt. Just because he is caught up with family issues now doesn't mean he has forgotten about you or is going away. He's just stressed and I'm afraid if you put too much guilt or pressure on him he's going to run. Just please talk yourself down and trust that the feelings between you two are real and once his Mom is better, things will be back to normal. I'm sure he loves talking to you, but if he feels guilty everytime he calls and hears it in your voice, he's not going to want to call anymore. kwim???
You are a wonderful person Pam and I know he's not going to want to lose out on that. Just try to continue going on with your life with Morgan and keep busy until he gets freed up again. We don't every hear you talk about the diet anymore or posting about your calories. Every post is about Rod and while we love hearing about him, we also love hearing about your success also. Don't lose yourself and the things that are important to you because you're busy with him. You always come first sweetie!!
I hope you are not mad because you are like a little sister to me and I just want whats best for you and I believe that will be a long term thing with Rod if you can "relax". Big hugs!!!
sarahlynn

Your all are right and I don't call him al the time any more. I know he needs his space and I am OK with that. I am doing much better this week. Really. But I would think I would be unhuman if I didn't miss him and wish for an update. Some of its just breaking the habbit ya know. I mean we went from spending 2-3 hours a day talking to nothing or maybe 10 minutes every other day. I'll be fine. Sorry I know I have dorned on and on to you girls about this. Its like beating a dead horse it won't get me any place new. Sorry

I just don't want you to write him off because you haven't heard from him. It's okay to miss him alot and I know he misses you too. I'm just saying try to sound upbeat when you do talk to him because he's under alot of stress right now without feeling guilty about letting you down. kwim?
We definitely want to hear when he does call and how it goes.

I haven't writen him off. I just feel as if he needs me to be here for him when/if he calls but doesn't need me calling 4 times a day. He is a gental sweet man and I know he wouldn't just up and leave me with out talking to me about it. He needs his space and I respect that. Really it boils down to ... me not him. I hate being alone.. He gave me hope. Now its time for me to give back to him when he is ready. Thanks again

Sarah - Did you read that in Ohio a kindergartener was suspended for having a mohawk! bahahah His mother refused to cut it so she enrolled him in another school. I can't believe they would suspend a child over that!
Claudia - No news on the job hunt for DH. Obviously it doesn't look like he got either of the other two jobs that he had already interviewed for. The first application that he put out for one of the Cities (about 4 weeks ago) called him and he has an interview there on March 11. It will be like 2 months after he applied. Only the government waits that long to hire. Keep your fingers crossed.
