disney tricks???

newmami

Well, not sure if you will call them tricks, but there are couple
All parks have this baby changing stations that are the best!!! they even have rooms for Nursing, and tons of changing tables. And if you have a baby you can always go there to cool down, or use the restroom, instead of the regular ones.
There is a phone line where you can call and make reservations for meals (priority seating) so you don't have to wait 2 hrs for your table
Some rides will allow you to be on line, have Daddy go in the ride while Mommy waits with the baby, then when Daddy is done, they switch babies and Mommy can ride.

Wow thanks Claudia we go to Disney every year. My mom and dad are snow birds so we go stay with them for our vacation. Last year we went with my DH's parents and a cousin and stayed a week in Disney. I can tell you Zachary loved it and asks all the time if we can do that again.
I have a cousin that lives in Cocoa Beach and my aunt and uncle live in Mims, and a cousin in Orlando.

Heheh... I'll save you! This can't die at 51 pages... it has come so far.
What's the grossest baby moment you can remember???
Mine was a combo of a blowout diaper and plenty of spit up when I came to get C from his bed in the morning. He sure was happy about it though... all smiles. I, on the other hand, was less than thrilled. Stinky!

oo thanks Claudia...ill have to remember those tricks!!!
i think my grossest baby moment was when Madi was about 2 months old and it had been 2 days since she pooped...well i set her in her bouncy chair in the living room to walk into the kitchen to get something to drink and when i came back she had poop from her knees to her EARS...inside her ears, in every crevis...it was so gross....

My all-time grossest baby moment was a blow-out diaper, on a plane, when Bianca was an infant. Add poor ventilation on a cross-country flight, and the fact that their were more blow-out diapers than outfits, in the end.
With Ciara, it was the only time she's had projectile vomiting (hey, you asked)....Nothing like having it everywhere.

I think my grossest baby moment was when Caleb was about 2 months old. He woke up for his morning feeding, he ate and then I set him on the changing table to change his diaper.... like I did every other morning. I took his diaper off and he shot poop EVERY where.... all over my hand, the changing table, everything. It was so gross!

Hmmm, gross moments...I'm sure I have a few tucked away in my mommy brain, but nothing comes to mind right now. However, I have to say, Donovan had his first turd this week  He hadn't gone in a whole day (and he's a once-a-dayer and often a twice-a-dayer). He was a bit constipated. When he did go, it was a orange wedge-shaped turd that rolled around in the diaper when I took it off. Gross but so funny. I'm the worst...I took a pic of it to show DH when he got home. But, I immediately deleted the pic. I'm sure Donovan doesn't need that pciture popping up when he's running for president
I'm sure Donovan doesn't need that pciture popping up when he's running for president
:D lol
I honestly dont think Ive had any gross moments with Pey YET!! :D But that could be because I went through them all already with Marissa. :D
Grossest with Marissa. Christmas Eve we celebrate with DHs family. Marissa was getting over the flu. She was 16 months old. She was in her pretty Santa dress and I was carrying her through the living room. Everyone was sitting down to eat. I had my plate of food in my hand. She threw up EVERYWHERE. She had been running a fever earlier so it was curdled milk. (Sorry, you asked :) ). I was soooooooo embarassed. Thankfully, it didnt bother anyone else. I guess with that many kids in the family, theyve seen it all. :D

Gross moment... one time I was changing Danielle and she decided to poop when the diaper was off.... and I swear it was a shot of poop that went EVERYWHERE!!!
Yuck!!! can we talk about something nicer??
I have an idea... what is your baby's latest achievement?
Danielle can sit on her own and she is trying to stand up, and she learned how to clap her hands
Latest achievment:
Pey's laughed before. But just little giggles. Yesterday we were all driving to my moms. Marissa was sitting next to her talking and singing. All of a sudden Pey started LAUGHING hysterically. DH and I were cracking up in the front. And Marissa could barely continue singing to her cuz she was laughing, which of course got Pey to laugh even harder. SOOOO cute!!
YAY for Danielle sitting all by herself and getting ready to pull herself up!! How cute she claps her hands!!

actually my dogs are really protective over madi. she loves my mini schnauzer, Cooper. everytime she sees him she lights up and he will lay his paw on the palm of her hand when shes eating and has her arm outstretched! hes a really sweet dog...
my scottie has this thing where everynight before i go to bed, he HAS to "peek" in her room...just stick his nose in and check on things...
its kinda cute!

My dog loved Ms. M until she started crawling! Poor Jade! She will crawl over to her and then grab ahold of Jades hair and pull herself on top of her. Jade looks at me like PLEASE get her off! LOL If Ms. M is upset and crying then Jade is right up in her face or running to find out where I am and why am I not taking care of her.
My dogs really could care less. I think cuz shes little still. When Marissas outside playing my one lab wont leave her side.
My moms dog though, has to be by one of the kids all the time when we're visiting. He gets frustrated when they're in different rooms cuz then he cant be w them both. When Pey cries he runs around the house to get me or my mom. And when Marissa spends the night, he sleeps on her floor.

I love how dogs are so protective with babies... too cute!!
Sarah, I think your son will really enjoy Disney now... if he is adventurous, he is old enough to do rollercoasters and the whole deal! and still young to do the kids rides

sgoethe - its so funny your sphynx acts that way - we always thought our cats with hair referred to the baby as "the hairless cat." Our cats since day one have just wanted to cuddle up to Stella and even now that Stella tries to rearrange their body parts, they still seek her out. Yeah, she tried to ride Diva the other day. Not a peep from my little kitty.
Keeps me from killing them and their excessive hairballs lately.
Grossest moment is also one of the most amazing. I never ever knew that poop shot out of a baby's butt as though it was coming from a hose and could shoot across the bathroom as a velocity regularly reserved for noncivilian aircraft. But I do now!!! Boy what a mess that was to clean up...

I just got done re-arranging my whole room. We bought a new computer desk for the main computer. And I brought the desk from downstairs up to my room. Well I thought I would save DH some trouble and put together the new desk. YEA RIGHT!! That thing has so many pieces. I got the legs on before I gave up. Now its all sitting on the living room floor. So much for saving him some trouble.

I gave up putting things together... between my stupidity for those things and that I don't understand half of the instructions, it is best for me to stay away!!!.... besides it is something DH enjoys doing!! (we just put together the grill, I held the parts and pass him the screwdriver... that is all I can do!! )
Ok, so this weekend DH was supposed to go out of town for work, I was SOOOO excited about being alone with Danielle, and had plans to go shopping for her.... then his stupid boss cancels.... he asked if I am happy he is staying, I told him I was disappointed b/c I was looking forwards for MY weekend, and he got all mad...... don't I deserve some time for myself????? I told him I don't like shopping with his son.... I made him feel bad enough that he will go with his son, and I will have my shopping day!! woo hoo!!!!!!!

Pam, I LOVE the pics and the new siggy pic. Morgan is adorable!!!
Im usually pretty good at putting things together. Plus DH barely has time to have dinner with us, so Id be waiting forever if I waited on him to do things. But man, that desk is just ridiculous. I called DH and asked him if they offered to put it together for an extra $20 or something. He asked "Why, would it have been worth it?" Um YEA!!! He got off early last night. DH? in the computer!!!! so I had to hold her while the broccoli was cooking, and handle to finish dinner while holding her.... and then give her a bath while food was in the oven... gotta love those helpers!! :x specially after the argument we had Monday about him not helping..... men are so useless!!
Pam, Morgan is a DOLL!!! I love her

I just hand C to my husband and say, "here you go, he's yours while I go make dinner." If C starts fussing while he's on the computer and I'm busy I just say, "could you grab him please? I'm busy doing _____." It's to the point now where I rarely have to ask anymore. When it's dinner time my husband just grabs a blanket, some toys, and they play on the dining room floor while I make dinner. It's a fun family time. :D
And YAY for some adult time Aly! I hope you enjoyed every minute of it.

Dh is usually pretty good at helping out with Caleb, unless it involves a poopy diaper, then it's another story!! But, if he's home and I need some help, he'll play with Caleb while I do whatever. He likes playing with Caleb and he can get Caleb to laugh hysterically. It's so cute!!

Thanks Claudia! Maybe its some thing to do with men who work for Coke? DH does a fine job with her when he does help. In the 15 minutes I was in the shower he changed her diapper and put on her PJs but I found it funny that he thought that was so stressfull that he had to go to bed at 8:30 after only 15 minutes of being with his DD. I think I may start being more pushy. I have talked to him about it in a nice way several times and its just not working. I hate having to be a B to get my point across!

My husband is terrific about caring for Stella - he is the only one I'll leave her with for a project, and they love the time together.
Except yesterday when I went pee, came back and Stella was eating cat food... all my husband said was "she's getting fast..."

08-16-2006, 01:42 PM
 Jennifer!!!
I just have this theory that DH thinks kids don't need attention, that they do fine on their own... his son can spend 4 hrs on his room watching TV non stop, and DH will not blink!!..... then he says he loves to spend time with his son..... HUH???
Monday with the big argument he admitted he needs to rethink his priorities and that he doesn't understand how I can do all this things... well, b/c DD is my priority and then I go from there!!
we will see what happens, b/c he already said that before, and obviously nothing has changed!!
Good Luck Claudia, I hope things get better. And DH realizes he HAS to change.
DH is USUALLY pretty good with the kids. Better with Marissa since he can actually DO THINGS with her, but he still gets in his ruts sometimes. Where he thinks watching cartoons is quality time. I hate that. Play a game, go outside. Ya know. Him and Marissa have been working on cleaning the garage for about a month now. About twice a week they go out to clean it. Yea, clean it. But somehow they end up playing with the stuff in there. lol

Claudia... I hope your husband gets it together finally! Seems like he's needed quite a few talking-to's since sweet little Danielle arrived.
Ok...update on that computer desk. (If ya'll care :D) DH and I were out running the whole time he was up today so he didnt have a chance to get it together. So it was still sitting all over my living room floor. We were gonna do it when DH got home at 5 am when he got off work. Well my friend came over to drop off the car she was borrowing. Another friend of our (male) came so he could take her to her house. He seen the desk, and decided hed put it together for me. :D He got the whole thing done in 30 mins. :D:D So now, I have my living room back and Im off to hook up the computer downstairs. Whoo_hoo!!

4th DH did some really bad thing and indangered my and Morgans life and distroyed my house. We had to seperate for a while until he got help. I love my mom and Dad but living with them with Morgan wasn't fun. (Good note is DH is better than ever and has kept it up for 3 months now!)

I just wish I could have felt comfortable about talking to you all about it. I couldn't tell in one in my family really because I didn't know what to say. Oi Pam, that doesn't look good!! I am thinking maybe you are sensitive to the venom or something... hope they give you antibiotics and whatever else you need at the clinic
I am very sensitive to all bug bites, a mosquito bite will turn into this HUGE thing, so maybe you are the same!!!

There are spider anit. V but not one for the brown Recluse. They must have given him the spider Anti. V. just in case he was bit by some thing other than a Brown R. I have researched this to the ends of the internet and I wish they did have one.

im dancing around the room...
we just got a security system installed. i had a strange man come to my door last week and demand that i open the door, he was beating on my door and ringing the bell...i was hiding in the garage (he saw me drive up and i couldnt get in my garage and get the door down fast enough, cause i saw him come into my yard) so i had to call the police...i was REALLY scared tho!!
anyway...our house is wired for an alarm system, we just hadnt gotten it going yet, but that episode was enough to get me on the phone to get one...
so we are safe and secure!!!
YellowRose
08-22-2006, 06:53 PM
oh my! That sounds soo scary, Christi! I'm glad you got the security system now!!! I think I'm going to have Dh look into getting one installed in our house once we move.
newmami
08-22-2006, 07:20 PM
Isn't it sad that you don't feel secure in your house anymore?? House is supposed to be YOUR place, where strangers are not invited.... I hate the insecurity!!!
YellowRose
08-22-2006, 07:52 PM
I know what you mean, Claudia. I hate that too. I'm a little scared about living in a house. We live in an apartment now, so it's not that bad being home alone at night while Dh is at school, but being in a house is a completely different story. I've always hated being home alone at nigt.
MarchMommy
08-22-2006, 08:12 PM
YES, Aly...get one! we got one with the "real time" monitor where if the alarm goes off the security office can come over an intercom that they installed and hear whats going on. and if its a false alarm, then i can give them my verbal password and name and stuff over the intercom, instead of them calling me. the idea is that it takes time to call, and if we arent home, call our emergency contacts. and if someone is REALLY in the house they can hear it. youd be AMAZED at how far you can go into the house and they can still hear you...its crazy!!! that way if there is a struggle, they can hear it and call the police.
yea that man creeped me out...i did go to the door (didnt open it) and tell him to get off my property....and he left, but i still saw him wondering our street. i think he was selling something, and there is a sign at both entrances to my neighborhood that says NO SOLICITING
YellowRose
08-23-2006, 09:50 AM
What company did you go with, Christi? I know absolutely NOTHING about home security systems so I don't know which company is best. My MIL has one, but I don't know what company. I'm going to have to talk to Dh about it tonight. I'd really like to get one.. especially since Caleb and I will be home alone at night while DH is at school.
MarchMommy
08-23-2006, 09:54 AM

Another one, my boss apologizes when he makes me work....
Christi, I would have been so freaked out. We have an alarm with ADT. Its not as cool as yours though. Id love to have the kind where they can hear in the house. They have to call us if the alarm goes off. It totally sucks that you HAVE to have it. We have ours since DH works nights and he doesnt like us here by ourselves. Makes me feel much safer though. ALL the doors and windows are covered.
Claudia, Your BOSS apologises when he makes you work? Thats nuts!!

ok debt questions...
me and DH (the terrible spender he is) have approximetly $7,000 in debt..total...its kind of spread out at a few different place..
so do we take out a personal loan and consolidate everything to make one payement (what i want to do) or do we continue to pay on each?
my DH sucks with money..grrrrrrrrrrrrrr i had like $300 in debt before he came around..
DIVADLX
08-24-2006, 10:55 AM
If your personal loan will have a lower percentage rate AND you close the other accounts (so that you avoid having the loan and new debts) it might be a good idea.
Are you looking to buy a house in the near future?
sunshine
08-24-2006, 11:01 AM
Just make sure you do your homework...a lot of times personal loan APR's are much higher than some credit cards. Can you consolidate all the debt on one card with a low rate?
MarchMommy
08-24-2006, 11:04 AM
can you get like one credit card with a high limit and low interest and throw it all on that?
i dont think i would get a consolidation loan, if i could help it...cant those put a mark on your credit???
newmami
08-24-2006, 11:10 AM
You can get a home equity line and payoff the credit cards, you will get a lower APR.
The best option would be find a new card with a lower APR, or a promotional one with a low APR, and transfer all the other cards to this one, and make a plan to pay it off.
Careful with those personal loans, they may end up having fees and a higer APR
MommaAvoidinDrama
08-24-2006, 11:21 AM
Speaking from personal experience here, My DH got a consolidation loan to cover some of our debt. With this loan our APR skyrocketed to a whopping 23%, when all of the APR's prior were 15% and under, now we pay $210 a month and only about $75 goes towards the actual loan payment. I know it sounds really confusing, but they basically make you pay all of the intrest first and then finally you start to pay on the loan itself. We tried to get it all lowered, but with the company we have it is close to impossible.
By the way I would love to be working right now, but I live in a basically nowhere place where jobs aren't too easy to come by. Claudia- I think your boss must be really awesome to work for.

Labor day plans...I was asked out for a date by DH (first time since getting married 3 yrs ago!!) I was so excited I have a hair appt, plan on getting a pedi and mani and maybe buying a new outfit (money willing) BUT MIL was to babysit and she really pissed me off so i am thinking about canceling the date.
The growing up husband... I will let you have my DH for a week then you will beg for yours back. LOL!! Every night he stays up until about 3am, normally sleeps to about noon, depending on his work. He invites his buddies over and they arrive at about midnight to play games and on Firdays it is poker night, they stay to about 6am then DH wants to sleep all day while i tend to Katie. Of course the guys are so loud I don't sleep when they are here either! And the reason I am pissed at MIL is because she wants to take over our finances because DH can not stop spending money and even though I fuss I get told by his family that it is HIS money and until I get a job I have no say. GRRRRRR.... by I let DH have it and told him he better grow up!!! A 36 yr old man whos mommy has to pay his bills cause he wants to spend it on junk!!!! (sorry didn't mean to rant)

Dh doesn't play with the videogames anymore... his way to get rid of stress is building legos, but ONLY after Danielle is asleep, and mostly when I am in bed... whatever he does with his time, is fine with me!!
OK, so yesterday we were driving and saw an accident that just happened (the cops passed us)... we saw an upsidedown car, and then I saw a woman holding a baby (probably from one of the other cars involved in the crash)... I told DH "there is a baby" (and they were obviously OK) and started crying like a maniac!!
Has anyone became more sensitive about this things since being a mom, or I am losing it???

Me too! Babies and mamas I don't even know! I cried the other day because this 44 year old man died in a car crash leaving a 6-month pregnant wife. I cried the other day when I heard my cousin and his wife were getting a divorce and she didn't want custody of their 8 year old son.
I'm getting to be such a softie!
Legos! My husband LOVES legos! He doesn't really have time to play with them, especially since theyare such a choking hazard, but in Hawaii there was another grown-up lego-maniac that he would go have "play dates" with where they would build these lego cities.
Labor day plans? Oh jeez.. another wedding anniversary that we'll probably not really do anything about...
:D

My husband is a lego lover too. He still has all of his legos from when he was a little boy. I bought him a Star Wars fighter jet thingy for his birthday last year.
For Labor Day C and I are flying down to Nevada to visit my mom for a couple weeks. Yay! I can't wait. She hasn't been able to visit C for 4 months and is aching for a chance to pinch his chubby cheeks.
Happy Anniversary Jenn! How many years will it be this weekend?

Happy Anniversary!!
YES... I do relive G's day of birth ALL the time.... in fact, so much that it's scary. I've often wondered if I were the only one....so glad to know I'm not alone in that one.
Yes, I have become WAY more sensitive since becoming a Mommy... it's weird...I cry at the drop of a hat over everything...maybe those hormones haven't gone back to normal yet...doubt they ever will!

I think of C's birthday often too. It's such a happy memory that I don't want it to fade. I figure if I revisit often I will be able to have a clearer vision of it for longer.
Anybody wanna go for a spin in Caiden's new ride?

Yikers! I had no idea about all that until I just read this post. But, by then the original post was gone. I don't venture to that side of the boards much so I was so out of the loop. Well, that's a little disturbing, but like MM said in one of her posts in Random, I'm not changing a thing either. Too sad. I think I'll stick to this side of the boards (and BF'g section).

I don't know, I guess I'm weird, but I don't see the concern if someone "steals" them. I mean, Kari has the right to feel upset. But, I don't know that I care enough NOT to post pictures of Oscar. So they say Oscar is their baby. So what? He's not.

08-29-2006, 07:50 AM
um i think (just my opinion) but theres something MUCH deeper going on there.....like some kind of weirdness (not with Kari, but with the other party involved). i kinda followed the story 75% cause i wasnt on yesterday afternoon, but i have my opinions about what happened....
i hate that made some of you take your pics down....im going to miss seeing them.....

08-29-2006, 07:59 AM
I know I'm going to miss posting them too. Maybe I'll post again when things settle down a bit. This is a wake up call for me though...cuz I think I share too much about myself and post pics of my house and such...I have to be more careful. My opinion of course.
Anyway, going for a pedicure today and can't wait!

I feel the same way you do, Debbie. Maybe I'm just computer illiterate, but I didn't even realize that all you had to do was right click on a picture, any picture, to save it to your computer. I'm not going to be posting pics for a while... maybe once things die down again, but still.. I don't know. It's sad because I love sharing my little guy and I love seeing all the APA babies.

I hate all the drama too, that's a main reason I tend to stay out of random and stick to the mommy boards. I love that we can all get along peacefully like grown women without all the drama here. Out of curiosity I visited Random (which I seldom do, b/c I prefer to spend my time here when I have time to read/post and also b/c of the drama) and the whole thread(s) is just confusing. I guess I'm not really sure what happened but I won't stop including pics in my siggy because of it. I got me a cute baby and I want to show her off! LOL. Seriously, it's sad that people are so bored and heartless that they have to make trouble on great places like this.

I just wanted to say, i don't get to get on here alot through out the day so when I saw in this thread about someone stealing pics I didn't have time to read it. So at 3am after feeding DD i tried to read it but of course some was deleted. Well when I went back to bed at 6 I couldn't stop thinking about this and my first thought was I LOVE POTW and now because of this we will have to stop. My mom told me when I first started posting that people can find out where I live and come kill me and steal my baby. Well I laughed it off and she is mad I participate in the swaps but we have alot of great people on here. And I love seeing all the babies.
Happy Birthday Sarah!!!!!
And I want a romantic man also. I am with you Sarah we finally BDed for the first time since I was 7 months preggo. It had been alomst 5 months. Can I steal your stories and show them to DH when he complains "we haven't had sex in 2 days!!!"???????????
As for the other drama in Random.... whoever did it was obviously trying to hurt one particular member, unfortunately he/she was stupid enough to involve another person, and that is when it got ugly. I don't think that troll is here to steal pictures, his/her issue is completely personal... but I respect if you don't want to post pictures!
