i never go by poundage on ANYTHING...cause something that says it will fit up to 11 lbs is still fitting her....

I just had to switch Sophia to size 2 diapers. The size ones were sitting really low under her belly button and just were getting harder to put on.

I buy the bix box of diapers from Sam's....well she grew out of the 1's and we have 3 packs left so I am giving them to a friend.
Isn't it exciting to think they grow that quickly! Amazing

Gavin is in size 3 diapers now. It is exciting and upsetting at the same time how fast they grow.
I know what you mean, MM, about the poundage... Gavin can still fit into some 3-6 month things that say they go up to 16 pounds and he's 19 pounds. It's weird.

Ciara's in size 3 diapers...she always looks like she has a load in her diaper b/c they're big, but 2's are low-riders and she looks like she's getting a wedgy after awhile
I have a couple of pampers points if anyone wants them. Just PM me. You would just need the code, I think?

I too go by 'the fit'. If they look too tight around her chubby little legs, then I bump it up a size (of course when the pack is finished) :D
We are in size 3's now and she's about 14#. Technically, I think, size one's are up to 14 pounds (I think it's on the box). We've already been through 2's and are on 3's!

I find that diapers are sized too small... Stella moved to size 2 far before she was the weight they said... when she's done with these. she'll move up to 3's!
So I had a mover come and estimate our move for us yesterday... apparently we have over 1500 pounds (over 30 boxes) in books alone. So today, with a heavy heart, I will be going back through them to try to part with ones I absolutely don't *have* to have.

Jennifer, 1500lbs in books???? WOWZERS!!! Sounds a lot like my MIL. She has sooooooo many of her books stored in pir attic. Plus shes got a ton at her own house.
Peyton is still in size 1's. I actually had to use about 3 packs of NB diapers when she was born. Marissa wore the newborn diapers in the hospital, but as soon as we got home had to switch her size 1's.

Here is what I have checked out right now
Book
Boundaries in Marriage
An otter book (can't remember the name its Morgan’s)
Movies
(best thing about the movies is you get to keep them for 2 weeks when you rent them you only get them one night! and its free!)

We have TONS of books too, DH bought those for his son, but he is too old for that... the only thing is I like to read to Danielle in Spanish, she gives me a funny look if I talk to her in English, and I don't have that many in Spanish....

There's a great big library here... about a 5 min car ride from our house. For a while Dh was borrowing movies from there like crazy! It's great because they're free. The only problem we had was our DVD player wouldn't play the DVDs. We have a VERY picky DVD player.. it's quite annoying actually. But, the lib puts this alarm thing ON the DVD and for some odd reason it wont play in our dvd player. We were borrowing the VHS's but... they told Dh that they were getting rid of all the VHS and only using DVDs... soooo.... we can't get movies from there any more. *sigh* It really beats PAYING to watch them.
I wish Caleb and I could walk to the lib... it'd be nice to check out books, but it's too far of a walk... and I don't have a car while Dh is at work! Ah well!

You can take babies to the library???
The libraries here have story times for all ages, starting with one for 'birth to 24 months' which is really a huuuuuge age group. I used to take Lucy to that. Now she goes to the 'Twos and Threes" which includes a craft. It's great, and it's free! We take Truman and he gets to play with the musical instruments and stuff too. I don't take him to the baby one because I think Lucy would be way bored. When we go to the small branch library on the end of our block, about once a week, the ladies that work there just take over Truman, cooing and speaking motherese and he just eats it up!
Is it weird that Truman has been in size 3 diapers since 3 months old??? My boy just has a bit bootie I guess? :)

Might be the same author - she always tends to have at least one larger-than-the-average-bear woman in her books (and she always tends to be the best character and have a really terrific guy - about time!) Part of the reason why I like her...
Book club - perhaps after I get off this rock! Otherwise this book club will cost me an arm and a leg in shipping!
Oh yeah, and my lack of reading isn't due to not having books - its that my every waking hour seems to be filled with something that is not reading. Once we get moved and settled, maybe I'll find the time!

Yep...it looks like a bookclub is forming :) LuMo suggested Eudora Welty so we're going to read something by her. Any input as to which of her novels we read?
The Robber Bridegroom was suggested and it sounds good.
The Robber Bridegroom (1946), Welty’s fairy tale set on the Natchez Trace, spins the story of a highwayman, Jamie Lockhart, who masquerades part-time as a gentleman. He kidnaps a planter’s daughter, and she falls in love with the thief, whom her father knows only as a gentleman. The tale has plenty of indigenous horrors taken from the history of the Trace—wild creatures and men of various states of savagery—but Welty cut her teeth on Grimm’s Fairy Tales, so it should come as no surprise that she injects some of Grimm’s gothic horror into the tale as well. The Robber Bridegroom contains all of the virtues of a good fairy tale: mystery, magic, poetic description, and in general a sense of the inexplicable.

You know, Italian women don't shave their pits?!?! It's actually quite gross!!! A lot of the younger girls do, but the older ladies don't. Shortly after we moved there, we were at the open air market buying veggies and this older lady had on a sleeveless shirt and lifted up her arm, I'm not kidding that woman had a BUSH under there. Oh it was sooo gross!!!!

I have gone two months! Right after having Morgan I had surgery on my back and had to stay face down in bed for two weeks. The only time I could get on my side was to b/feed and that hurt so bad! I took another month just to be able to bend over to shave.

I'm an up to the knee shaver too. I have barely any hair above my knee... and I what I do have is light and fine. It's great!
I shave my pits daily though. I don't think I could skip that part.
Do your husbands shave their faces daily? My husband always whines about how he wishes he had legs to shave instead of his face. I think we have it easier too.

Yep, my Dh shaves every day...except Saturday. He says his face needs a "break". I'm glad though... I don't like facial hair, at least on my Dh, he looks much better (and younger) without it!
Yup, Im a "knee shaver" too. When my mom taught me how to shave she told me to stop at the knee so thats what Ive been used to. :)
I wish I could shave my legs every day. I sometimes barely have a chance to shower. And I cant shave my legs in the shower. I cant balance myself. LOL. BUT I ALWAYS shave my pitts daily. Lord help us all if I dont. I get so mad at DH. He doesnt even have to use deodarent but I have to re apply like 4 times a day.

The older I get, the HAIRIER I get....((sigh))...Random facial hair( I found one under my chin, and it was so long at that point, it was curling!), something of a mustache(yuck!)....Oh, so I used a hair remover on my upper lip, and burned my skin. If you like I'll be the thread killer. But I think, if the thread goes on too long, admin will close it and make a continuance thread. :? I think that's what they used to do on the old board. There were three members that I KNOW most of you never talked to or don't remember, from back when I first joined who had a thread 30 pages long. They did that because there were so few members and that way they could keep talking without making new threads. And admin stepped in to say they could make a new thread, but that one had to be closed.
So this is the longest anyone REMEMBERS, but not the longest in the history of APA.
Well, I guess we should keep it going to see how long a thread can get before someone closes it down.

We lived in an Italian house and italians don't have central air. Anyway, the average temp. during the summer is at least 100. He is still heart broken over it. Of course insurance only gave us like 4,000 dollars to on the truck and it was only 3 years old. The insurance Company took us for a ride. (Pardon the pun)

Last night was unbearably hot. It got up to about 95 during the day and our apartment building traps heat year round so it never cooled off. I came home at 6 p.m. and cranked up the AC. We only have one AC unit in our 1 bedroom apartment and it's in the living room. I swear it took until like 5 in the morning for the bedroom to cool off. I don't know what we'll do if we stay in this complex and get a 2 bedroom. We'll have to rig up an AC in the baby's bedroom.

I seriously cannot live without a/c in the summer. I would probably kill someone. Fans just won't do the trick. I have to have it on 76 all day long to be comfortable. And when I visit my parents' house I always feel bad because I think to myself, "If I were home right now, I wouldn't be so miserable in this heat." :?

I LOVE Coconut! DH and my dad both hate it so mom and I NEVER get it! Some times I can talk mom into making a coconut ceam pie (hers are to die for!). The bad thing is she and I are the only ones who eat it so we eat the whole thing just the two of us. I have no selfcontrol when it comes to coconut!

Holly - my mom and sister want some so I have to go up there anyway. It will actually be nice to get out of the house (if you can call it that - I prefer hazardous disaster zone) and go up to the North Shore for some R and R.
We did the maze too when my sister and her boyfriend visited. And had some Ice Cream. Yum Yum!

Well Jenn, since you're already going to be there, then I definitely can't refuse! ;)
Am I the only creature of habit here?? I'm so used to going straight to the New Moms section first thing when I sign onto APA. Now with all the new categories I keep clicking on a TTC section because it's where New Moms used to be. Someday I'll figure it out! :P
I do the same thing Holly!! So many new sections. Great idea!! But will take some getting used to. :D

Yeah, I always go straight to new moms... then Breastfeeding then I'll peek into General. I seldom post or look in "random" though.
I almost think there are too many now - its going to make it harder for one post to reach a good amount of people for support.
But you know, I don't pay for this privilege and will take APA in whatever way it comes.

No...I need to clean out the pantry closet, and start moving some things around b/c they're going to start tiling my unit in the next week or so. The carpet's pretty ratty, so it's a good thing, but I'm not really looking forward to hauling things around :o Then again, it will force me to organize things.
Claudia Good Luck this weekend!!

Ugh. So would I. It would be heartburn city for me.
Diva, I know how they win the contest. They are those "pageant moms" who are CONSTANTLY bugging people with, "Oh, isn't my baby perfect?" And they hound people to death to vote for their baby, and aggravate the crap out of their friends and family for votes. Plus they're on several message boards and online groups hounding those people to vote too.
I'm not jealous either, as you can tell.
