Sorry, I don't have time to catch up with everything that has been going on. I have a sick baby in the house! :(
Pam, I am SO glad that you didn't go over to that guy's house! He kinda sounds like a creep! I would be careful with that one! You sure do get lots of guys for not being hot!! You must not be telling the truth! :D Just admit you ARE hot!
Debbie, I hear ya I am on AF too and last night I had a complete meltdown. Trenton has been so sick and then I have been sick with AF and just felt like crying last night, so I did! AF makes me soooo emotional I can't stand it! I flipped out on DH last night about something so stupid and we ended up in a huge arguement all because of hormonal me!

I put up our gate today to keep Hayden away from the cat food that he wants to eat  He is in front of the gate yelling right now. He's not very happy with his new restrictions. Poor kid! :(
That's funny...
Ciara goes for the dog food dish at my mom's constantly. I'm sure she's had some, at this point.
Look at it this way, they'll have shiny coats--er, hair!

Brooke, sorry to hear Trenton is still sick. Poor little guy. Hugs.
Awwh, poor Hayden! I love the new siggy pic of him with the mac and cheese though...right in front of the gate...too cute!
Ok, why do I love the show the Bachelor so much!? It's so funny...DH and I sit in front of the TV and laugh at these chicks like gitty school girls...I love it!

Pam, be careful.
Poor Trenton, Hope he feels better soon. I hate to hear babies are sick.
Debbie, i love your siggy and Chris's hair.
Jess, Katie hates her gate also. Of course she can now get out of the gate.
Sherry, i totally forgot about the swap.  I will get on it tomorrow and get it mailed out. I very seldom go to random. Mine will arrive on time if I have to overnight it.

Poor Trenton! Give him a hug for me. I hope he gets to feeling more like himself soon.
I felt so bad for the girl on the Bachelor who sang! The Bachelor for me is like a wreck that you just can't turn away from! I didn't get to watch the whole thing. (Silly me thought I needed a shower) I didn't get to see who was kicked out. I would have hated to have to give a rose out on 1st impression before I got to meet every one.

Oi poor Trenton!! I hope he feels better soon Brooke!! :(
So my parents called yesterday, they will stay with me for 13 days, to help with Dani & Chris!!! then my mom is staying for an extra week... woo hoo!! My dad is so excited about babysitting Danielle it is not even funny, and he is just going NUTS knowing he is having a grandson, it is so adorable!!!
Jess, Dani wasn't crazy about the gate either, she LOVES to climb the stairs, but doesn't know how to get down... we put the gate on the third step, so she can play on the first two.... she loves to sit there and drink her milk. Hayden will get used to the gate, don't worry!
Where are Kelly and Jenn??? I MISS THEM!!!

I DID IT........... I called my friend last night..and we talked for 2 1/2 horus..it felt so good we have 3 years to catch up on..we are both so excited to get together again and see each others kids after so long..i am so happy i was so thrilled when i got off the phone..it felt good to hear we both missed each other so much and were ready to reconnect.. :D this is how i look now..i missed her so much..
so along with the good news..i woke up to inches of snow this morning.makes me sad easter will kind of suck big buttocks with all the snow..no hunting outside i guess...ugh makes me angry..oh well..we head to fargo in a few days..i am so excited for my mini vaca..
on a side note..i love you guys..your such wonderful friends..  sorry feeling all sappy today..

Yay Sarah for calling your friend!! and I am glad the outcome was so positive!
Boo for the snow... it is cooling down here too.... ok 75 IS cooling down Vs 88. I hope you can still do the Egg Hunting
So my boss apparently thinks I am an idiot (like the other people who works here) because he sent me an email stating not to send files for review if they are not complete... do I look THAT dumb????

Yay Sarah for calling your friend!!!! Sorry about the snow though, that stinks! Hopefully you'll still be able to do your egg hunt.
I hope Trenton feels better soon, Brooke. Poor guy!!!
Af is a day late, I took an hpt this morning... BFN. Now, I'm really crampy and feel like Af is coming, but still nothing. I just want to take a hot shower and relax, but Caleb is refusing to nap AGAIN! I don't know what is up with that boy! He's been acting tired all morning, but wont nap!

04-03-2007, 12:16 PM
Yea Sarah!!! New friends are so hard to make so its always good when you can recycle an old one!
Aly, sorry your having napping problems again. Morgan is doing this but its because she wants to be out side playing all the time. She doesn't want to come in for nap.
YellowRose
04-03-2007, 12:26 PM
Well, I figured out the problem. He was still hungry! I gave him an egg and applesauce for lunch (he LOVES eggs) and just last week that would have filled him up and he would have gone right down for his nap. I got him out of his crib and asked him if he was still hungry, he nodded his head. So I took him to the kitchen and he got excited, like he always does a mealtime. Well... he ate ANOTER egg!!!!  Now, he's sleeping. I can't believe he ate TWO eggs plus applesauce!!! I guess he must be going through a growth spurt................ either that or my little boy has turned into a little piggy!!!!

Guess I spoke too soon... he's not sleeping. He's in there making noise!
newmami
04-03-2007, 12:58 PM
Ugh! sorry Aly!! I hope he lays down and gets some sleep!!
Dani doesn't like to nap when she is home, because she misses all the fun. The only way she would nap is if I take her to my bedroom and lay down with her.... I don't mind at all, specially now that I get tired of just being
Dani has days like those, when she would eat HUGE amounts of food, and then the next she is happy with just a little something!!
Have you tried making pear sauce? I steam the pears and just puree them with an immersion blender... Danielle is addicted to those and apple sauce
sarahlynn
04-03-2007, 02:12 PM
Ah Aly Lucea has those days as well where she just doesnt want to give in..lately its been at night..we have been up past 10 for days now..i amnot used to that..

Christi, I am sorry you feel so bad. I was not that sick when I was preggy with DS but with DD I couldn't even get out of bed some days. I would crawl to the bathroom and stay there for hours. Maybe it is a boy this time.
Sarah I am so glad you finally called your friend. And we all love you too! :D
Aly, did you get that nice hot bath?
I miss Kelly and Jenn also. Where are you ladies????

Christi, I'm sorry you're not feeling good. I hope the morning sickness passes soon!
No, I didn't get a hot bath, just a quick shower while Caleb played in his crib. I didn't think he was going to nap today, so I took a power shower.

Oi Christi! I am sorry m/s hit you full force!!
I thought because my PG with Dani was so nice and uneventful, this was going to be the same.. HA HA!!! this little guy is determined to prove us wrong from the beginning!!
Hope the m/s goes away soon!!
So people at my work are starting a cash poll on when I am going into labor... I don't want to have unnecessary labor!!! :hissy: so I told baby he is not allowed to come out until the 20th (as scheduled), just so NO ONE here wins the money!!! maybe I should state that if I don't go into labor, the money is mine... hmmmmm
So I hope you lovely ladies don't mind, but most of your addresses are on my list to mail birth announcements!! now I just need to decide if I want to make them, or just get them from Costco
Weather is miserable here as well, hot and humid!! Dani goes to daycare wearing shorts because it is sooo hot, and for some reason the daycare lady doesn't like to use the A/C!! last time I saw it was 86F... are you nuts??? 1.5 more weeks, and Dani is out of there for good!!!

so does everyone have good friday off? we are heading out of town on friday morn when lucea is ready for her first nap..the drive is only 2 1/1 hours so as long as i can keep cy and my nephew quiet she should sleep the rest of the way..

Hey everyone! I've been reading all the chatter, but I'm still being a lazy poster...
Christi, I'm so glad you're back! Your pictures are amazing and you are totally glowing. :D Looking at your pics made me realize that Madi looks a lot like your DH! Who is very good looking, might I add. Sorry about the m/s. That's my worst fear for when I get PG again. I never had any with Chris, so I'm afraid I'll get it really bad with baby #2.
Tracy, I looove Katie's Easter pics! She looks so cute! The one in your siggy is my favorite though. I love the sibling love.
Sarah, that sucks that your Easter is going to be snowy! You'll have to take pics of the kids trudging thru the snow to get to their Easter eggs! I hope you have a good time on your trip. Be safe!
Claudia, I can't believe that Chris (I still want to say Christi) is almost here! I remember when you got your suprise BFP and then you went to the Dr to confirm and left us hanging alllll weekend! I hope you make it to your c-section date and win all that money!
Aly, sorry Caleb is being such a difficult sleeper. Chris goes thru these phases too. It can be very frustrating. Just last night, he was exhausted but was still trying to play. He cried when I made him lay down, but then he was out like a light. Crazy kids!
As for me and Chris, he is turning 1 tomorrow! :D  It's very bittersweet, but also exciting! We had his birthday party this past Sunday, and it was great! I will try to post pics ASAP. He was so funny, he had his own cake to tear into, but he was very timid about it. He would only stick one finger in it at first. Tomorrow, we also have a pre-op appointment with his dr. I'm excited and nervous, but so glad he's getting the tubes soon! Next Monday, we'll be in surgery!
One last thing, Chris now says Momma!!!! I can die happy now! I could listen to him say that all day! Hopefully after the tube surgery he'll start talking a lot more. 8)

Christi... your pics were awesome from your trip! It looked like you had an amazing time! I am sorry that you are having so much m/s.. I had this terrible with Trenton but never threw up. Just nausea and tired all the time! I hope it passes soon for you!
I wish that it was hot here... it is still in the 50's and 60's here... I am so ready for summer to begin. I want to take Trenton outside and play but it has been too chilly and he has been so sick I dont want to make it worse.
Can you believe Chris and Trenton will be 1 tomorrow!! :D I can't believer how fast this year has flown by... I miss him being little! Now it makes me ready for another one! :D Let me know his pre-op goes with the doctor because dh and I are seriously considering having tubes put in Trenton's ears. He has had one after another and the meds are not healing them... he does not react well to meds and has been on three different types. I am just ready for my little man to have some relief, ya know? Why did your doc decide to give him tubes?

Wow!! Chris & Trenton are 1 already???? hope they can spend their birthday feeling ok and not sick!!
Brooke, I hope Doctors can give you an answer about Trenton being so sick :(
We didn't made a big deal on the first birthday either... no point when family is not around. We had a cake that I made, and took tons of pictures... besides Dani was fighting an ear infection, so she really wasn't in the mood for a celebration. Once she is older and can play, I will make bigger parties for her
OK, so I am starting to figure out things to do with Dani while I am on maternity leave, so she doesn't get bored... it would be a fun change to be a SAHM for 10 weeks!! I read about yogurt paint, and I thought it was the BEST idea!!! she also likes to be out playing, so once I can drive I will take her to the park, and I got her some chalk to draw in the sidewalk... what else do you do with your kids???
So I was thinking about sending DH some cookies when Chris is born... with Dani he got me flowers, and he LOVES cookies... is that a good idea??

I know, it's crazy that they're turning 1! I'm happy, but sad...
As for the tube question: Chris went thru the same thing it seems that Trenton is going thru. He kept getting back to back double ear infections and the meds weren't working. :? We would do the 10 days on the antibiotic then go back for a follow-up and there would still be fluid. Chris I think tried 3 different ones too. My dr explained to us that some babies just have smaller ears (on the inside) so they have trouble keeping the fluid out of them. He referred us to an ENT, (Ear Nose & Throat Dr) and they did a hearing test on him and it wasn't good. The ENT said it's like he hears under water :( That broke my heart to think that's how his every day hearing is! Ask your dr if he can refer you to an ENT. Or maybe his regular pedi can do a hearing test on him and see if it's affecting his hearing. To me, that was the worst part. He doesn't talk much, and we think his ears may be why.

Yesterday afternoon DH spent all the time playing with Dani, while I made dinner... she is now oficially climbing the couch!! they had such a fun time it melted my heart!! When I took her upstairs for bath & bed, DH was carrying her and she gave him a kiss in the nose!! first time EVER she has done that!! DH was teary eyed and in cloud 9 the whole afternoon!!

RRRRRRRRR....I'm sooooo annoyed! I just went through 4 pages of this thread and replied to everyone's posts and then the friggin computer froze and I lost it! how annoying...anyway...sorry ladies...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRIS AND TRENTON!
Sarah, glad you got in touch with your friend and that you are going to meet up soon. Hope you have a fabulous time with your sister this weekend on your mini-vac! Keeping her in my thoughts and hope that her ttc battle will be over very soon and that she's blessed with a healthy pregnancy. She's lucky to have you by her side through this...it must be so tough on her.
Christi - Sorry you are having bad m/s. Get as much rest as you can, hon. Hope it goes away quickly.
Brooke - hope Trenton feels better really soon. He's been through it lately, hasn't he? Poor little guy.
Pam - have fun egg coloring with Morgan. Have you decided what's going on with your ex seeing Morgan for Easter? How are things with James going?
Claudia - How awesome that your parents are coming! I'm so excited to get a birth announcement of Chris' birth! How exciting...it'll be here before you know it!

Pam - have fun egg coloring with Morgan. Have you decided what's going on with your ex seeing Morgan for Easter? How are things with James going?
I don't want her to be all stained up for her Easter pictures on Sunday so I have not decided yet.
I told him he could see her Easter morning but he told me last night he might be hanging out with some friends. :x He just does things like this to get me worked up and then he never even showes up. Stupid head! But I am glad he isn't coming by.
Right now I am playing hard to get with James. He wasn't showing me the respect I thought he should. I think he got used to me being there any time he called but wasn't doing the same for me. This week I decided I wont rush to pick up the phone when he calls and I wont text right away. In fact I made him wait from Sunday until this morning before I called him. LOL I told him I just had so much to do. I just wanted him to see how it felt. LOL
I had a date set for this weekend with a guy named Mike who couldn't stop saying how "smok'n hot" I am. I broke off the date. Call me a big chicken but he was putting up some red flags and I would rather spend the time with Morgan.

As for James, it is his loss, not yours.
And tell Grant to stop being a moron and to grow up!! I hate that he is playing games with you and Morgan!
I read today on the parents magazine a suggestion to put the kid on the bathtub and let her dye the eggs... that way the mess is contained and then you can give her a nice bath afterwards!

Candice- Thanks for letting me know about his ears. It sounds like Trenton may have the same problem! :( He doesn't talk much either besides mama, dadda, and dog. Mostly just jibberish that we can't make any words of. I guess he really shouldn't be talking too much quite yet but it concerns me. I mean poor little Chris, was hearing like he was under water? How frustrating for him! I hope the surgery goes well. Trenton has his one year appt on Monday and I plan on talking to the doctor about tubes and I will ask to see an ENT.

Just to bring you some peace girls
Danielle is not talking a lot yet, she babbles a lot and we can sort of make some words, but not sure if that is what she is saying (she is 16 months)
She understands LOTS of things, so I know her hearing is fine!!
It could be that she is learning 2 languages, but still, the Pedi has no concernes of her not speaking!!
So you would think people in this office are a little thoughtful about a PG woman... right?? HA HA HA!! we are sending some files for review, and guess who is the one responsible for taping, moving boxes and taking care of everything??? YES ME!!!! Chris and Trenton! It's the Big DAY! I can't believe they are a year already! That means Hayden is getting closer and that's not fair.
As far as the crayon thing, do the crayon before you dye them - that way that have neat designs. The oil in the crayon makes it so the dye doesn't stick to that part of the egg!! We aren't coloring eggs this year.
Dh just came out to the living room and asked me if I was coming to bed... I guess that means he wants me to get off of APA and come snuggle. Can't say I blame the guy! I am soft.  LMAO.

I bank at RBC. Do you think before you leave you can fund my account with millions. I use to work for a bank...First Union and quit because it was a boring job.
I love the egg dyeing tip for the tub. Not sure we will dye eggs this year. I wanted to do the egg hunt but most places say 2 and up. I guess next year we can get into the Easter events.
Haven't seen Jenn around, anyone know how she is? And where is Kelly? I guess I need to venture out of this thread more huh??

haydensmom, Ahhh... I wish I had a DH that was wanting me to come to bed! I noticed last night that my bed is full of crap! With me being the only one in the bed most nights it has all kinds of stuff in it and when its not full of crap then it has Morgan, myself, the cat and then the dog at the foot of the bed. I guess I just don't have room for a man!
OH!! Morgan said Night Night last night!!! When she was getting sleepy she was saying night night over and over. I asked her if she wanted to put on her jamies on and she said yes. It was so cute!

Well, I hurt my back yesterday so no more moving boxes for me!!!
Pam, how cute that Morgan said night night!! I LOVE when kids say new words... Dani's newes word? iki... meaning Mickey Mouse!!
The city of Orlando should be proud of her, she LOVES Mickey Mouse!!!
I took Dani to daycare today and there are 2 new kids... she usually wonders around in the house like she owns it, but today she just put her fingers in her mouth (the sign that she is unsure), and looked at me confused... so she stayed in the dinning room to eat breakfast, while the other kids were on the playroom
And we have an egg hunting today at daycare!! Dani was practicing with her basket yesterday... I was making a basket for DH, and she got couple of the eggs and put them on hers, along with a tub of playdough and couple of magnets!!
HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYBODY!!!!

Claudia, that is so lame about them not helping you! And then you hurt your back?!? WTH? You should sue! :?
Pam, Morgan is sooo cute! Yay for her learning new words!
I've got bad news...we had to postpone Chris' tube surgery b/c they wanted $500 yesterday and we didn't have it. It sucks not having tons of money. We can have it next week, but that's a no go for them. I feel sooo bad like I've let Chris down and now he has to suffer because me & DH don't have any savings. So, we rescheduled for the 23rd (the earliest they had available) and I'm counting down the days...

Candice,
I am so sorry you didn't have the money right now. I didn't even know they could refuse to do any thing to help our children because of lack of funds! Seems like any normal human would let you make a payment plan :!: Poor little guy. Don't feel bad your a great mom and you are doing a good job. Things like this come out of no where and have no way of forseeing that we will need that money! Hugs to both of you!

Candice.. I am so sorry about Chris' surgery! :( You didn't let him down..so don't worry. At least he will be getting it done on the 23rd which is not to far away. Doctor offices always want some kind of money that they dont warn you of in advance! :x

Don't worry, the 23 is not that far, and Chris will be ok. Then surgery would be farther from his birthday, which is not a bad thing!!
Well today one of the gentlemen here brought me a box that I got from the courier... he got scolded for taking it because it was not on his name!! FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!!!!!
The picture of Morgan eating brownines batter is making me crave brownies really bad!!! sucks because I have to be careful with sweets.... the funny thing is if I wasn't dealing with the GD, probably they would not sound that yummy....... we will always crave things when we cannot get them!!!

Jenn, I think I prefer Mrs. Federline. Ms. Spears isn't doing it for me. I'm glad Stella is all better now. I hate when our kiddos are sick. I love her Easter pic, I think she looks a lot like your DH these days.

Jenn, After I left this thread I seen another post of yours. Just jump in with a small hey. We worry about you when you go missing in here. I hope Stella is feeling better. Did she have rotovirus and what is that?
Christi, How do you feel these days?
Candice, I am so sorry that they wouldn't do Chris's ears. They should have told you before now that you needed to pay that kind of money up front. I would send money If i had it also. I wish I was rich, of course I could never be rich because I would give it all away.

I found this on the bottom of the second page!!! I have panick attacks if I don't read this thread!!!
So how was everybody's weekend? Dani had an egg hunt at daycare on Friday, which she didn't cared for... she just wanted to play outside. Add too that that the other kids were a little too excited and noisy, she got anxious and stayed with Mami & Daddy, while Daddy took like 60 pictures of her!!
Saturday we had a calm day, I took a nice nap with Dani and we went out for dinner. Dani eat the tomatoes on DH's salad  and shared my salmon, rice & veggies, and of course the chocolate cake DH & I chomped on!! Sunday she got an Easter basket and she was thrilled with the bubbles!! I love how something so simple can make her so happy!!!
We had a quiet weekend and I loved it!! gave me time to do things at home, and I am rested for MY LAST WEEK AT WORK!!!
I decided I am going to take it easy this week, make sure things I do are taken care of, and really not care about work... HE HE HE!!!
Sarah, how was your weekend away????

My weekend was so busy that it wasn't much fun. Next year I hope it is a little more relaxing. My house is a wreck from all the cooking and I didn't get any laundry done. Morgan had fun and her dress turned out great! I will share pictures tomorrow but I don't know that I got any good ones the girl is so hard to take pictures of because she is always on the move.
Pam, put down the brownies! Or at least pass one this way...Do you and your dad always check your sugar? What for, just cause you like to?
Dads and I both have trouble with our sugar but dads is much worse than mine. We both do a pretty good job of controling it with what we eat but dad I think is going to have to go on medication soon if he can't get his back down. My problem is my sugar swings so fast. I will have low blood sugar and feel as if I am going to pass out then 2 hours later my sugar will be so high that I am having hot flashes. This doesn't happen a lot if I watch what I do and eat.

Yes he came over at 8 and didn't get in the way. So I wasn't to upset at it. It worked out pretty well. I just have to keep reminding myself that he is her dad and I can only protect her but I can't keep them apart if he wants to be in her life. I just wish he would get in or get out and stop just wanting to see her if he thinks it will mess my day up. It never fails if he hears I have a dat then he calls me up and says... I am going to come see Morgan at 5. Ugh! Its like he wants me to tell him no so that he can say "your mom wouldn't let me see you".

We had a pretty quite weekend as well. Saturday we went shopping, Caleb got 4 new shirts, 2 pairs of pants, and a pair of shorts, all on sale! I love finding sales!!
Yesterday Caleb opened his easter basket from his Grandma and had his first taste of candy. He LOVED it. He kept asking for more all day. He also got some bubbles, which he loves. It was so cute watching him get so excited over the bubbles  I got some cute pictures that I'll post later today.

Awwh, too bad it was cold and you had to cut your trip short, Sarah. But glad you got to get away and enjoy yourselves for a few days.
Claudia - Don't you be moving anymore boxes...relax at your last week of work...it'll be there when you get back or someone else will have to do it...forget about it.
Candice - sorry to hear you had to postpone Chris' surgery...the 23rd will be here before you know it though...so it's not like you have to put it off for months.
Our Easter was nice. We stayed home until 1:00 and just let Gavin play with his toys we got him...we didn't do a basket this year, we just bought him a bubble blowing lawn mower, some toys to play with in the sandbox, and a Go Diego Go chair he refused to get out of in the toy store! We then went to my Grandparents house and had a big egg hunt. Gavin found 16 eggs! It was so cute seeing him get all excited to find an egg in the flower beds. We had a nice ham dinner and then went to DH's Grandparents house for dessert. Didn't get home until 10:00. Gavin was soooooo tired and slept all night without a peep...I had to wake him up this morning at 9:45 am!

I was looking for some birth announcements, and I cannot find any that I like!! I want to do them at home, and add a picture like we did for Danielle... ugh! gotta go to Target and see if they have some available... Joanns & Michaels have NONE!!! :?

I made a list of things I have to do before Chris is here.... OMG I have been slacking big time!! the bassinet is still in the garage, and I need to wash the carseat cover and all the bedding.... good thing I am off 3 days before he is here!!! at least we already made room in my bedroom for the bassinet
I brought some salad for lunch and I forgot the dressing... so I am heading out to get some soup to eat... it is kind of cold today and salad just sounds yucky!!

Hey all! We had a GREAT Easter Sunday! :D I got the cutest pics of Chris "hunting" for eggs. DH had to carry him around, but he was such a ham for the camera! This weekend was crazy because it snowed allllllll day Saturday! I live in Texas, so that kind of thing is unheard of. It was really cool though. We snuggled all day in bed and watched Nip/Tuck on DVD. 8) I love that DH has the weekends off. It was great!
Ok, jealous mommy warning: a little back story...my cousin had a baby boy 9 days after I had Chris, so they are very close in age to say the least. I've always felt a bit of a competitive vibe from cousin concerning our sons accomplishments. Like, who sat up 1st (Chris) who rolled over 1st (Chris) who got the 1st tooth (Kaleb) Whatever, Chris usually "wins" so I'm over it. But today she called me at work to tell me that Kaleb (her DS) took his 1st steps Saturday. She knows Chris doesn't walk yet. That was it, she just wanted to let me know that he had starting walking. Ok, thanks for the info...I know I shouldn't, but I had a tinge of jealous feelings trying to come thru. It's really hard not to compare our kiddos sometimes. "IN HIS OWN TIME, CHRIS WILL WALK IN HIS OWN TIME." I will continue to keep that in mind, although I wish he would get on with it already.

Claudia - I totally understand the craving brownies because they are off-limits thing. When I was pg I wanted Coke like never before. I don't drink it ever (too much sugar, too much caffeine) but when I was pg and REALLY couldn't drink it (no caffeine for the pregnant lady!) I wanted it SO badly! I had Stella and that night DH brought us some food and he had a coke and I was like "Oh I gotta have a sip" and it totally wasn't good anymore.
We went to my brother's for Easter because it was his birthday too. It was fun, but I always feel so judged and fat when I am around that side of the family. Oh well, I definitely had the cutest kid there. ;)
We had eggs all ready for an egg hunt for Stella, but we ran out of time and then it was raining when we got home. So we are going to cheat and do it next weekend... she won't know the difference!
She had the getto-est easter basket ever, but she loved it. I went to the dollar store and got her some cars, a coloring book and crayons, a fluffy monkey, and a horse. She of course, loved the cars and crayons the most...
it was a fun day though!

It sounds like everyone had a terrific Easter! My mom, stepdad, brett's parent's and his sister were all in our tiny apartment. It worked out, though. I have to admit that I'm glad dh's parents are gone (mostly his mom) because she overstimulates Hayden like crazy! Dh is glad too!
I totally don't feel like doing anything today - I worked hard this weekend.
Dh and I went out and looked at neighborhoods on Friday. We found houses online, got directions, and went to see what they looked like. Most of them were awful. :( Brett makes good money, but housing around here is outrageous. We did find a few things we liked, though. It's hard to come from our parent's houses which were nice and not expect to move into something like that. We'll get there!

Hi Girls!
Sorry I have been MIA for a LONG while. I miss you all so much! Things are just a little nutty around here. I'm doing a practicum for school (5 full days spent in the classroom with a mentor teacher) and it's killing me. I just have too much on my plate. I have two weeks left of going to practicum on Wednesdays, plus 4 weeks left of my semester. I'm counting it down. Luckily, my summer classes are all online (I am so super happy about that, you just wouldn't know!).
DH is not handling the whole thing very well (he works 3 or 4 days each week and I work three, plus school). As a result we are not doing too well. I'm seriously considering talking to work about going down to two days a week, rather than three. I have to do something...I'm not about to loose my marriage over all this.
Add to it, Amanda has decided to resist naps. Night time is generally not a problem, but 12 hours of Amanda is a bit much.
Other than that, life is okay. Easter was interesting...major family issues, but it was good for Amanda. That is all that matters.
Housing is ridiculous no matter where you are. I'd really like to know how soooo many people make enough money to own the $550K homes just starting off. We spent mid 70's on this one 5 years ago...we are hoping to make a good profit off it in a few years and move up in house, but we will just see. It will work out for you Jess...I'm sure of it.
I'm lost on this thread, but I'll try to catch up!

Aww, Sarah, that's so sweet!!!!
Dh and I had an AWFUL time looking for a house. We live in a suburb of Chicago and NOTHING is cheap here... houses are ridiculously expensive. Just when we were about to give up and stay in our apartment, a friend from church decided he was going to sell his house and asked Dh if we'd be interested. It's nothing huge or spectacular, but it's a fairly nice house with a nice fenced in yard, 3 bedrooms, 1 bath. He sold it to us for $160k, which is GOOD for this area. It does need some work, for example, I want to totally re-do the bathroom, but it doesn't need that much done to it.

Candice I understand about when people compete with you and you baby.. I too have had this problem with friends. It is very annoying because then it makes me feel like I am not doing something right because Trenton is not doing what that baby is doing. Trenton just started walking more on his own... but he is still way more interested in crawling! Chris will walk when he is ready! Trenton is such a speedy crawler.. walking is just too slow for him! Don't worry our boys will be walking very soon!

We have until tomorrow to decide if we'll stay in this apartment or not... yikes!

Jess, sorry about the house hunting... I agree it is frustrating and stressing when you cannot find something within your budget. We pretty much gave up looking for a house and decided to rent... the options on OK neighborhoods were expensive crap
My only hope now is that we can find jobs out of FL, and then find a decent house!!!
YAY Stella for being PT!! I would not even attempt to do it with Danielle right now... although she is starting to be bothered when she has a poopie diaper, and acts up until I change her
Ugh to the comparisons!! when are people going to understand that babies are different, and each of them develops at their own pace?? if someone DARED to compare Dani to their kids, I would make a rude comment.... like Dani is not talking clear yet, but she understands 2 languages, so.....
Any one has a child who is a veggie freak?? We were eating hamburgers yesterday, Dani was sitting with us (she was done eating dinner) and she saw me putting tomatoes on my hamburger, she started whinning and pointing at the tomato, so I gave her a slice and she ate it like I just gave her cookies... same thing with the corn... so today she is having meat patties with tomatoes on the side!!!
I went to have a NST today, Chris is doing well, he doesn't move as much as he did before, so I assume he is running out of space.... aaah!! 10 more days and I will be holding him in my arms!! :D

I'm lucky to live in an area with decent house prices, but when a nice house in a nice neighborhood comes along that isn't half a million dollars, it's a bidding war and ends up going for a great deal more than it's worth. I'm so NOT looking forward to house hunting next year or the next. I feel for you gals going through it now.

Jess, hugs on the house hunting. I know all too well how frustrating how it is, expecially in this area. It'll work out though...trust me! We've been so lucky finding new construction and a good neighborhood within our price range, or slightly above, but made it work.
Candice, hugs. Don't worry, Chris will be crawling all over the place soon, or he may be one who just goes straight to walking! I know this isn't going to make you feel better, but my neice didn't crawl until she was 14 months old, but was walking at 15 months. Every little person is different, but I've learned through experience that they're all doing about the same thing at age 2...walking, talking, etc. Hugs, it'll come!
YAY Stella on the pt! That's awesome! She's such a smart girl!
OMG, Claudia...10 more days...no way! That's crazy...seems like yesterday you were telling us about expecting! I'm so excited for you, DH, and Dani!
A veggie freak...I WISH! Gavin eats salad occassionally and that's really all the veggies he'll eat. I make veggies everynight for dinner and he throws them all on the floor! Oh, well...I just keep trying!

Kelly, I forgot to say that I am sorry things between DH and you are tense... Dh went through the same thing with his ex, when he was working mornings and she was working nights, to keep their son out of daycare... he believes that is when their problems started, so when I suggested doing that, he said NO!
I hope you can arrange things at work so you have less hours, and that things with DH get better
Sarah, snow again??? I hope the cold front moves out so you can have some real spring weather!! it is cold here too, specially at nights, Dani is back to sleeping on flannel PJ!!!

Thanks Claudia. I know it will get better...last night was the best night in a long while. But, Easter Sunday was hell. Anyway, I know once school is done for the semester it will get better. Not only am I working strange hours, I am also going to school Tuesday nights and have Practicum all day Wednesdays. I might as well be working 50 hours a week.
I'm amazed by Stella and the potty training!!! Go Stella Go!!!!
DIVADLX
04-10-2007, 01:31 PM
Oh don't get me wrong! She is not potty trained in the least! She is just interested in it so I am accommodating her... today was amazing though. She came running to me saying "shi shi, diaper, shi shi, diaper!" and we went to sit on the potty. then she asked me to put a diaper on her and she shi shi'ed in it. I then found a little puddle where she had been sitting. So she started to go, felt it, stopped it and came to me.
Wow. I can't believe kids sometimes and how much smarter they are than we give credit for.
But she has not gone on the potty. However, she does not like to sit on her potty - she likes for me to put the potty stuff on the big potty and sit there. I have some pretty cute pictures of her being just like mommy...
But alas because I am still stuck on DH's frickin' computer, I can't find them. I'll post them later.
Sorry ladies that I haven't been able to catch up. I feel so selfish to just pop in here and talk about myself! I am a horrible APA friend!

You are not a horrible APA friend Jenn, you are a busy mom!!!
See that us who supposedly work are the ones who spend more time here!!!
Wow. I can't believe kids sometimes and how much smarter they are than we give credit for.
I hear you on this one, I am still amazed how well Danielle handles silverwear, she almost doesn't make any mess when eating (depends on the food of course) and she even knows how to gather the remain food on the plate!! they are so observant, we really need to be careful with what we do or say.
Tomato soup is one of my comfort foods.... I wish I had something better for lunch, I had caesar salad with chicken, and of course now I am hungry... and tired
I dropped Dani early today on daycare (OK like 20 min earlier) because my Dr's appointment was at 7:30. I got to daycare 7:05, and it took the lady FOREVER to open the door, then she complained that it was too early... WTF? if she says she opens at 7, she should be ready to receive kids at 7am, right?? I got so pissed, but I just left thinking "4 more days"

Claudia, you are changing to a different day care lady once you go back to work, right? Geez....she is the one getting paid!
Just the fact that Stella is interested is impressive!!!!
newmami
04-10-2007, 02:30 PM
Yeah!! Dani and Chris will go to the daycare we used for 4 weeks, when the regular one was closed. I am thrilled because the lady interacts a LOT with the kids, and promotes a friendly environment between the girls! they play along together, help each other, wait for turns, etc, and she also takes the time to teach them stuff, as her daughter is one of the girls there!
But for 10 weeks I will have toddler and baby at home!!

zAWWWW JEn your a wonderful APA friend..i was the same way after the easter weekend..i couldnt catch up at all so i had to just pop in and throw down stuff about me
Ugh you guys i am a mess...DH just went to CY's pediatrician and picked up a prescription for meds for himto take before school...we dont have to fill it she just said to come by and get it if we wanted it..now i am sitting here once again completely lost on what to do..there is such an urge in me to try it and see if it helps him..but on the other hand i just dont know..UGH GRRRRRRRRR! why do these dumb parenting choices have to be so hard..
MarchMommy
04-10-2007, 08:09 PM
Im sorry sarah! i know that has to be so hard......whatever you decide to do, it will be the BEST decision for CY. What does your DH say?
sarahlynn
04-10-2007, 09:38 PM
DH is oblivious  he is like ...yeah cy i had to take this stuff to cause i was all messed up when i was a kid  thanks honey!!
he doesnt think its a bid deal either way.he figures he took it and is fine so its not a big deal if cy takes it..and on the other hand he isnt pushing it either..he pretty much leaves these really EASY choices up to me (note the sarcasm)
:( i guess i just need to follow my heart and my instincts and do what feels the most right!
Bells614
04-10-2007, 10:00 PM
Sarah, I've probably missed it, but what exactly did they tell you about Cy? Have they given you any other options?
sarahlynn
04-10-2007, 10:10 PM
Well we talked with the psychologist about schedules, reutines, consequences, charts, meds, all sorts of options.. i have tried most of them..
the doctor didnt push meds on us..many peopel told me that most doctors just try sell you meds rigth away..he said cy is borderline..he doesnt see him in dire need of help but does think he can benefit from all of the things we talked about..we do charts at home, vitamins, reutine (as much as i can) and he is still struggeling in school..he cant focus, has a hard time completeing assignments, staying on task, he looseing things constantly, very clumsy and gets hurt often, he is most of the time wandering around in his own world  the good thing is his grades are great, he istn behind in any work, he is very smart..but he feels bad when he has to miss out on things because he cant get work done, when he has to sit alone because he cant focus..
so i am torn..in one instance i think if ther is somthing that can help him to feel better and do better than why shoud i deny him this..and than the other side says no..ugh who knows..i get more and more lost :(

04-11-2007, 05:04 AM
That is tough Sarah. Sounds like you got a decent doc too. SOOOO many push drugs (it's easier for them, they get paid the same and the work is minimal), it's nice to hear of one willing to give you options!
I feel for you. Not sure what I'd do in that situation. Have you talked with anyone at the school about accomodations? They should be able to help with that. I'm searching for things here. I wouldn't want to do the drugs either, but when your out of options, you are out of options.
I'm thinking about you!

Christi, yes I will have help with Danielle for the first weeks. Both my parents arrive April 18, my dad leaves May 1st and my mom around the 10th, willing to stay longer if needed (I already told my dad he better pack the house and sell things, so they can move to Orlando!!)
Sarah, sorry that the charting, routines, etc are not working wih Cy... I am completely anti medication, so I understand your dilemma
I have a friend whose son was diagnosed with ADD, she said he always had good grades and he was a good kid, but had a hard time sitting still and focusing, and that got him frustrated... School tried to help him but it didn't worked, so she opted for the meds... she said the change was AMAZING!!! he wasn't dopped or anything, just able to focus and be happier in school.
He is currently in college and is working as an Air Traffic controller, he is an ex Army and works with the National Guard
If Cy decided to take the medication, is it easy to wean him off if needed???
You will do whatever works for Cy.... I know your mom heart knows what is the answer to the dilemma... just follow your heart!!

Sarah
I know we have talked but this is what I was saying. My son is exactly the same way. And you wouldn't even have to wean him off the meds they are take it and get use from it and don't take when you don't need like weekends or holidays and the summer. I am sorry if I sound like I am pushing the meds, by all means you have to do what you are comfortable with, but all I can tell you is my son has the same stituation as your son and I wanted to make him not feel different or left out of what the other kids were doing. You could always try and if you don't notice the difference or it makes him not feel good, stop cold turkey.
Hugs!

Cy is exatly like you listed above to a T....
Well  i gave Cy his medication this morning..he was so excited..i explained to him what we hoped they would do..so after i gave them to him he says "ok mom i am gonna do this and you ask me something lets see if they work" in a way i just hope hope hope they work and he can be happier and more productive at school.in a way i feel like i failed..but i know thats not the case..i just am doing what i can to help him out..
he has such a wonderful teacher that helps a lot with him and trys her best to work with him at school so i know she will be honest and let me know she thinks of him on/off the meds..
the dose he is taking is very very small like 5mg he takes it just once a day at 8:00am..i can give him another dose at 4 if i choose to but i wont because at 4:00 he is done with school and in his afterschool program where they are kinda more relaxed and less work related..the doctor also said he doesnt need to take the meds on weekends, holidays, summers..so its a very easy one to go on and off of w/o any issues.

Sarah, in your heart you know you made the right decision when it comes to Cy... the medication is hopefully going to help him be more focused, and when he starts seeing the results, he is going to be excited and be a better kid (if that is possible because I think he is already wonderful!!)
We don't have any right to judge you, we are not Cy's parents and we don't live with the situation, so I promise all you will get is support, OK?

Good Morning ladies!
I need to rant for a bit..last night my aunt calls me..out of the blue..we dont talk much but get along great..she tells me her daughter (who is a junior in high school 17 years old i assume) is pregnant! at first she was unsure if she was going to go through with the pregnancy but in the last few days she decided she wants to have the baby..so i told her all the congrats and it will be hard but you can do it and hang in there call if you need anything..you can do it...ya know the whole cheerleading act..i guess i was all positive because i remember being pregnant and unmarried at 20 and i know how hard it was to deal with everyone..
so i go to off the phone and i got really upset..why does my sister who is married, has a great home, job, husband, and son have to struggle so hard to have a baby and a 17 year old girl just OH WELL I AM PREGNANT I GUESS I WILL KEEP THE BABY!!! :( i feel like a bad person feeling this way but it sucks things go the way they do sometimes..and another hting i wanted to shout at my aunt is WHY THE HECK was she not on BC??? sorry but when i have even a single thought of my daughter having sex she is on BC thats it..it will be like a hospital..me administering BC every morning..here hon take your pill..mom not ready to be a grandma yet  oh well just had to get it out..it made me feel rotten for my sister who is in the 2 week wait after artificial insemination..
OK i am done now
and if you made it this far and read this...

Ah Sarah, I know how you feel. Situations like that really do suck. I hope your sister is able to get pregnant on the 1st try! As for hair, well look at mine. I had it down to my butt and chopped it all off! It feels sooo good to have short hair. I just got a hairstyles magazine and flipped thru it until something caught my eye. I have Sandra Bullock hair. 8)
Guess what? Chris is walking more! Last night before bed, we were practicing standing up on his own and I got him to walk to me! Several times! We've always done this thing where I stand him up with him holding on to my hands for support and I say, Ready (he stands up) Steady (he gets his balance) Go! (he lets go of my hands) Well usually go just means he stands unsupported, but last night he walked instead! It made me cry when I told him to walk to mommy and he did it! :D He didn't want to walk to DH though, I would face him towards DH and he would turn back to me! I kept at it until he went to DH though because I didn't want his feelings to get hurt. I AM SOOOO EXCITED!!! And so PROUD!!!
P.S. Sarah, I posted pics of some of the toys Chris got for his birthday in my Birthday Pics thread.

Hi ladies. I haven't posted in here in a while, but I'm still a lurker.
Elliot's teething, 4 teeth in 10 days and working on at least 1 more. It's so hard to look and feel around his mouth without getting my finger chomped on. No wonder his good sleep has been out the window and he's still waking up to nurse once at night. I'll be so glad when he has them all and I don't have to keep running after him to wipe his snotty teething nose.
Sarah - I know how you feel. My dh and I were talking about that this weekend. It makes no sense to us. Hope your sister gets her wish.

YAY for Chris!!! He'll be walking in no time!!! Just a few days after Caleb took his first step, he was walking all around like a big boy!! It's so fun to watch them grow, isn't it?!
Sarah, I'm sorry about your sister. I really hope she gets pregnant. Situations like that really stink. I often wonder why people who don't want a baby get pregnant so easily, when they aren't even trying yet those who REALLY want a baby can't get pregnant. :(
As for hair... I had mine permed in January. I really like it.. it's soooo much easier! I just have to put a little mouse, scrunch it and put some hairspray in and I'm ready to do. It takes 5 minutes to do my hair! Before I'd have to blowdry it which seemed to take forever because I have VERY thick hair!

I will come back to work for the same bank, but apparently the position that was offered to me "informally" has been approved. Haven't heard anything concrete yet, but the Real Estate Manager made a comment of me coming back to work for him... which is WONDERFUL!!! he is a little neurotic, but he reminds me of my dad (in the working ways), so it would be easy to deal with him.... Candice- How exciting on Chris walking, and you were all worried for nothing! Don't you just love how excited and proud of themselves they get when they are walking? I love it!! I can't wait until Trenton is fully walking so it will be easier for him to walk around because he hates being confined!
I still have long hair which is a surprise since Trenton pulls it out on a daily basis! I just got some blonde highlights, because I love to go lighter in the summer! :D Just get some color Sarah, it always helps me feel refreshed! :D
I am usually the one that gets in trouble when it comes to spending the money! I love to spend money on Trenton and the house but I am by no means frivilious.. I just like to enjoy myself sometimes! Now dh buys all the big expensive stuff .. so he will go blow the same amount of money in one day as I would in 6 months!

We don't fight about money too much - just DH gets mad when I suggest he come home and eat instead of go out yet again. He likes to eat out... fast food for lunch on MWF, a run to taco bell some nights when he closes at the restaurant, and wants to go out when he has the night off.
We never fight unless its about money but its my fault too  I go to target way too much. I am about to start staying home so we'll probably just eat ramon noodles
I have a bad Target problem too... I can't go in without spending money. I am generally much more frugal than he is but I occassionally have a shopping problem (like how I want an Ergo right now which isn't cheap) or clothes for me and Abby or just random stuff at Target that somehow ends up in my basket.
So between DH's food problem and my shopping problem we can't really blame the other person for spending all the money.

Sarah, I totally agree that it's not fair who gets pregnant and who doesn't. But I'm glad you're being supportive... I'm sure a lot of people won't be.
WTG CHRIS!! That's totally exciting! :D He'll be running around you in circles in no time. Even though it's shameful to admit it, I'm sure it felt good that he kept wanting to go to you.
So I'm ovulating today girls - keep your fingers crossed for me!

Go Chris Go!!! Now he will be running through the grass this summer. I love that KAtie is walking because I am so ready to play outside.
I am so happy I could bust, Katie loves books!!! She plays with her books more then anything else. I have some cute pics I need to download, tonight she was walking around in a sleeper with her legs out so it looked like a cape and carring a book. She just walked all over with this book then during my time with Dylan she handed me the book so I gave it back because DS and I were studying and she got mad and threw the book back at me. We did this until I finally picked her up and read it to her. :D Dylan hate to read so i am so excited that she loves it!!!

Oh god you guys last night was terrible to say the least..
when cy had his docs appt they said when they come off the meds they can either have a real high or a real low..well cy hit rock bottom last night..
we got home from school and he went to his friends house to see if they were home..noone answered so he got so upset and he fell apart and started crying..i told him it was ok and continued to make dinner thinking it woudl pass..he kept crying than every little thing made him cry worse and get more upset..he got a terrible headache from the crying, his stomach began to hurt be began to throw up, than he cried till he couldnt catch his breath so he was hyperventilateing..i took him outside, i gave him a warm bath, i talked to him, everything and nothing owrked to calm him down..this went on not for 10-30 minutes but for 2 hours...finally i got him to lay on the couch and he says "mom i am just just just gonna close my eyes" and he fell asleep
i immedietly called my family and said NO MORE MEDS!!! i called his pediatrician and left her a message on what had happened..its so not worth it..my mom said maybe its normal and will only last a week while his body adjusts..I said I DONT CARE..i couldnt handle another hour of this let alone 5 more fricking days..he isnt a bad kid, he isnt terrible in school, he isnt suffering that bad..we are gonna just try other things at home..more diet/vitamin/reutine things adn see what we can come up with..
OMG, poor little guy! And poor momma, too. :( This: "mom i am just just just gonna close my eyes" broke my heart!

Oh no Sarah! You must feel awful, but please don't beat yourself up over this too much. You were trying something new and I'm so sorry it didn't work for Cy. My cousin takes med for his ADD (he's 16) and my aunt told me that it sometimes makes him very emotional and sometimes if she says something even the tiniest bit smart alecky, he'll get his feelings hurt and cry. ((BIG HUGS)) I hope you can help Cy work thru this obstacle in his life.

OMG, poor little guy! And poor momma, too. :( This: "mom i am just just just gonna close my eyes" broke my heart!
it was so awful...there was nothing i coudl do or he could do to calm him and get control of him..and i was getting scared and upset and sad because i couldnt do anything nothing i tried worked..i ended up saying in a pretty stern voice when he wasnt breathing right "CY YOU NEEd TO CALM DOWN" which now i feel rotten about..but i was almost at a panick..thinking what the hell is happeneing to my sons body..he said mom when you get upset i get more upset..which totally broke my heart so i explained to him that i was getting scared and i didnt mean to upset him i just didnt know what to do..
i love his pediatrician so i hope she doesnt call and give me the oh thiis is normal crap..cause its not normal for my son to act that way...

Oi Sarah! I am sorry about the whole episode with Cy... it would have broke my heart as well!! maybe he is adjusting to the medication, but I respect you for saying NO MORE!!! we are not the ones seeing our baby sobbing and hyperventilating, so again, we are here to support and encourage your decision, ok dear??
Don't feel bad about the way you talked to him, he needed to get out of the crying episode, and I am sure the firm voice helped
** HUGS **
Money fights with Dh... I married a spender as well :? . But finally he saw the light and realize we cannot keep living like this, so now he is obsessed about paying off the credit card debt... WOO HOO!!!
So I went and had another U/S... still a boy!! he is doing great, and so am I.... ready for next week! Now I just have to return the pink stuff and exchange for blue things... And FINALLY this weekend I am going to the farmer's market to get veggies and fruits for me and Dani... and my parents arrive on Wednesday!!! And today is my last day at work!!

Well, Jess, I'll cross my fingers with my selfless side... but the selfish side that wants some cool mommies to get PG in my month isn't - HA!
Aw, man. Just kidding. I'll cross all fingers. Dang it. ;)
Sarah - oh my goodness - how awful. I hope he is back to his kookie hooty self soon. As far as the stern voice - it was probably what he needed. You know how sometimes when you are in a tizzy it is that person that says "Hey slow down!" that gets you back? You were that voice for him. I am sure that there are other ways to manage it than the medicine.
I accidentally scratched Stella today! I feel so bad. We got home to ants on the floor on a discarded cracker and Iw as trying to clean them up. I sprayed them with the natural ant killing stuff, and was keeping Stella away... then I had to toss some of them into the toilet (2 feet away) and kept watching her, but of course the second I took one step she got curious and went to touch it. I lunged forward and pulled her hand away (and the scratch happened) and said "No stella, dangerous." She stood there stunned for a moment then she burst into hurt-feelings tears. I felt so horrible. Not too guilty because I was doing the best I could and I didn't mean to... but just so sad that I hurt her feelings.
Have a great weekend you guys!

Sometimes saying no is so hard as a mommy! But you were protecting her and she won't even remember tomorrow (doesn't make it easier, I know). Give her a big hug for me, though. She's such a sweetie!
You know it's funny... if I gave Hayden a hug once a day for all of the fabulous women on here, he would never get a breather.
We're going to look at houses tomorrow morning. I'm stealing Debbie's (sunshine) husband away! He's our realtor. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. There are some in our price range and some just a little over (I'm hoping they'll fall - that's the trend right now)... But I'm nervous that the ones in our price range now will be crappy. Is it so bad to want a decent home??

Also, I have the worst cramps and I'm only 2dpo... honestly at times, they feel like braxton hicks. It's probably all psychosomatic, but I swear they are there. I'm even a little nauseated from them right now. Am I crazy? Honestly, tell me if I am.

I was just wondering about your house hunting Jess! Sorry you didn't find anything. BUT, it is spring and that is when the houses hit the market. I'm sure you will find just what you want...in time.
The house we looked at a few months ago is still on the market and they dropped the price another $4K....while it's not the house I want to retire in, it would be so nice to have all that extra room. But, we really need to wait a little longer....we need a bigger down payment and to sell this one (and it's not even on the market).
haydensmom
04-16-2007, 07:27 AM
Kelly I hope the price of that home you like keeps going down! We're hoping that prices will continue to fall in our area as well! We found one home that we really loved, but it didn't have a basement or an attic. With kids, you need that for all of the stuff, imo.
Bells614
04-16-2007, 08:56 AM
You aren't kidding! My basement is a MESS, but all the outgrown baby stuff goes down there. I need to take another few things down there.
Most homes are not dropping their prices around here. This particular one just needs some work. People don't tend to buy houses as big as this one and want to do a lot of work (they generally have a few kids). It's been on the market since July of last year. It was a foreclosure. I'm dreaming...and cramped in a two bedroom house!!!!

Ok girls, tell me I'm crazy, ok? As most of you know, dh and I are ttc. I'm 4DPO. I've been cramping since 1DPO, been VERY bloated (it's ridiculous - I look 4 months pregnant), and I actually spotted a very small amount in the middle of the night - nothing since then. I'm wondering if this is implantation bleeding. I never had it with Hayden and I know it's rare, but I don't have any other explanation. My fingers are crossed.

I have a few minutes so I will fill you in on my weekend but I feel rude for not posting about what every one else is talking about.
Friday night Michael came over for two hours and it was nice we set and talked and what not so I figured I had him all wrong and asked if he would come over for dinner on Sunday night.
Saturday night I made dinner for James and though we had a good time and I didn't leave his house until late and he seemed to not want me to go he also said nothing about how nice I looked (even though I was cooking I was decked out from head to toe even wore high heals!) or even held my hand. Then when I go to leave he kisses me sevral times and hugs me as if he doesn't want me to leave but he waits to do this until we are standing out in the cold. He says next time he will cook me dinner but doesn't set a date or time. He always makes me feel as if I am his fall through girl. Ya know like if his plans with Jane fall through then he'll call me. I don't like that.
Then on Sunday Michael comes over and ....he watches TV the whole time not paying much attention to me at all. I hate it when me become TV zombies and thats why I don't have the TV on most the time. Also I know it sounds mean but he didn't smell very good. On Friday he smelled so good I could have torn his clothes off and on Sunday (even though he had showered) he had a funky smell. Now he is a really big guy but I just don't feel as if being over weight is a good reason to smell bad being over weight just means you have more spots and folds to wash so it takes longer.
*note here that Michael and I have yet to be out on a real date (just him over at my house)*
Monday
I am sitting at work and its 8:30 and I have been here about 2 hours and I get a call and its Michael and he has run out of gas on his way to work and he is on the interstate. Can I come get him and take him to work? So I go pick him up and ask if he needs to go to the gas station to get gas and he says no because he has no money. My gosh! The guy is going to be 35 in aug. and he doesn't have enough money for gas??? So I take him to work and give him 30 dollars and tell him to get gas after work.

Pam - your stories of the single life give me renewed energy to stay married to DH. ;)
Sarah, we have done it a few times and it really sucks. First the IRS takes 20% right off the top. Then next year you will do your taxes and claim it as income. THEN they send you a bill for the 10% penalty. I guess if you are paying really high interest rates it might work out in the long run, but if at all possible I would keep it in there. BUT I don't live in your checkbook, so I don't know what is best, really.
I have made a decision that this is the last pack of pills I am taking for BC. So far I have had breakthrough bleeding or spotting pretty much every month, I feel fat and bloated, my hormones are crazy and make me SO cranky... Since next month was our last pack anyway before TTC in June, we will just have to be careful. It will be good too so that I can get back on track to prepare to TTC.
Jess - I hope it is because you are pregnant! Well, you know, except that i want you to get pregnant in June with me... ;)

First off I am sorry I have not caught up in here. I now know why people are intimidated to just jump in, I have waited a day or two just because I didn't have time to read and still don't but I need to talk tonight.
I did see something about Jess may be pregnant???? Jenn going off BC, which I guess you will be TTC also.....YEAH and good luck to both of you.
And then something about men watching tv...mine is wrestling  and playing games on the PC.
I have been thinking about Claudia alot today. Can't wait until the 20th!! Does anyone else get excited when one of us has a baby?? Or am I just a dope? :D
Ok no I need to get this off my chest and who else will understand me but you all. I was such a bad mom today and I feel so guilty, I tear up thinking about it. Katie was up hourly last night and I didn't think about teething until about 8PM tonight but she has been aweful today. She was into everything, cried for 20 mins because she couldn't chew on wires. I just had my limit today. I think I have PPD, I have been back and forth with wondering this but I really only have one 'good' week a month. I am not really unhappy but everything bothers me. DS has made several comments on how I have changed since Katie. I put it off to lack of sleep but I am soooo moody. And I yell for no real reason all the time! Ok back to today, so I have had no shower, heck I can't pee without her screaming, all day she has cried, I have forced her to eat and putting her down for naps and to bed was h3ll. Tonight I rocked her, feed her, sang to her anything I could think of and she refused to go to sleep so I put her in her crib and hid in my bathroom (her crib is in my room)
when she started to cry I went to her and tried rocking again and once again she threw a fit so I told her she was going back in Katie's bed if she didn't quit. Well she just got worse so before I lost it I put her back in her crib with paci and hid again. She played so I snuck out of the room to get a drink and waited and listened for her to cry. She didn't, she went to sleep. My child went to sleep knowing I was upset with her. (I am really crying writing this) I feel aweful. I have never put her to bed without her falling asleep first, I always rock her. I do want to change this habit but not like this. Plus during bath time I think I felt a tooth breaking through. Of course the way my day has gone it could have been my imagination. I want to go pick her up and hold her and rock her and let her know mommy loves her. It's not like I hit her or anything, it's just my tone was not very loving and when I put her in her crib she gave me this wild look like what are you doing and I keep seeing this look she gave me. Ok since I wrote a book I will stop complaining, sorry it is so long but I needed to talk about it.

Tracy - pick one woman on the website whom you think is the very best mother you have ever heard of and I am pretty sure she has had moments like that too. Tomorrow you can remember and love her extra, and she won't remember. I think none of us remember babyhood because it is filled with moments like that - our infancy amnesia is a wonderful thing!
If you think you have PPD go see your doc. Ask them to give you a depression test, or talk about what you are going through. If you want to PM me feel free.
We won't TTC next month because of the antidepressants, we'll just use rhythm to avoid. But the month after - yahoooo!
TV - men have such lame taste. I can't believe that I am about to admit this... but my husband LOVES Star Trek Voyager and Star Trek Enterprise. He DVRs all the old episodes to watch again. Geek! ;)

Tracy, I'm so sorry you had such a rough day. I've had a couple days like that with Hayden where I just feel so frustrated and tired that I need to walk away. You actually did the right thing by doing that!! If you had stayed and she had kept crying, it could've been a worse situation (you being more frustrated, etc). She definitely knows that you love her - no matter what!!
If you're worried about PPD, go see a doctor. Just remember that it's not something wrong with you - it's a chemical in your brain that's faulty. Big hugs girl!
Temps are soaring. :vibes: Keep your fingers crossed ladies (my chart is in my siggy if you want to peek).

Tracy, I feel for you sweety. It all sounds all too familiar. Are you on BC? I was very moody on the two different types they tried me on. A couple months ago, I stopped taking them and BOOM! The moody, screaming crazy woman disappeared. But, if you really do think it's PPD, talk with your doc.

GGGRRRR It is going to be another one of those days. Katie is soooo cranky and I have to drive to Greensboro an hour away for a quick errand. I have put it off and now I have to go, Katie hates to ride so this is not going to be pretty.
Thanks for reassuring me, I cried on and off all night. Of course these days I cry all the time anyway. :(
Pam, the dating sence is brutal!! I don't know what to say. Maybe James will realize how great you are and just have eyes for you. I know I missed it but who is Jane? Another woman he is seeing?
Jess this will be the longest 2 weeks of your life. fingers are crossed.
I am not sure about implantion bleeding or cramping. Did you have cramping with Hayden? I can never remember my 2WW, excecpt for the pure torture of waiting. I hope these next 2 weeks go by fast for you.

I use to walk with the bank I worked for, we did MS and March of Dimes. We always sold doughnuts from KK.
I need some advice about my dog. Buffy (my choc coker spaniel) does not like Katie and she does not like people. She is a loving dog, when I cry she lays her head on my shoulder, she is a lap dog and always wants loving. I think she is jealous of Katie. She has started using the bathroom in the house again. :x I give her attention all the time, i take her out for walks at night so it can just be us, and am always buying her treats. Katie loves Buffy but when she gets near the dog, Buffy growls. Not showing teeth mena growl just a growl. And most importantly if Katie tries to teach her she will snap at her. Buffy could bite Katie but thankfully dosen't she just snaps. So I know Buffy knows what is right. Anyway my baby is more important and I need to get rid of Buffy. Again she hates people so how do I find a good home. One where she will be spoiled and loved and where she will like them????? I love Buffy, we have had her for 4 years. So I don't want to take her to the pound.
Well off to spend the day with Dilly.
BTW Jenn I will send off the check this afternoon. And if DH kills me when he sees the checkbook just give my stuff to an APA mommy....LOL!!!!

thats a hard one..i had an old dachshund that we had to put to sleep about 2 years ago cause he was getting a bad back and cranky...i toyed with the idea of trying to find him a home but i was to worried that he may bite someone cause he hurt off and on..so we had to put him to sleep.. ok that has nothing to do with anything but i miss him..
do you know friends or family that could take him.?? shelters suck..well they do their job but it sucks for the dogs..

I could never take one of my pets to a shelter. I couldn't live with the fact that I left them there and that they could possibly be euthanized. WAHHH! I'm gonna cry.
It's such a hard situation, ya know? You love your animals, but you don't want anything to happen to the kids. I'm sorry you have to deal with this stuff! I don't envy you at all.
Are there any older adult communities near you? Older adults like small dogs - plus no huge worry about children being near all the time. You could put up a flyer.

Aww I'm sorry about your dog :( I would have such a hard time if I had to get rid of my dog. I've had the shelter pick up two dogs before - DH found a German shepard and a Husky roaming on the busy street in front of our neighborhood so he got them to follow him into our back yard and then we tried our hardest to find a no kill shelter but the only one here had gone out of business. They were both big huge males so I didn't feel comfortable keeping them and my 100 lb female for a week or so while we put up fliers so we had to call animal control to pick them up and bring them to the other shelter. I felt so bad I couldn't find their homes.

Candice, you might look into getting one of those panties for dogs in heat. It would at least keep the mess off of your furniture. It's just an idea. I had to do that with my male (except I had to use a regular baby diaper). Do you supervise play between her and Chris? My husband forced me into giving up our female terrier after Morgan was born because she kept digging out of our yard and he didn't want to be bothered with her. She went to live with one of his friends, but I still hate that I gave her up.

DH called SPCA today but they have to call us back. As I was telling Michelle, today Katie slipped by me while I was making her a bottle (she can get out of the babygate within seconds now) and she stuck her fingers in Buffys mouth. Buffy just sat there and then she let buffy pet her while they was boh in my lap. I guess buffy knows she is geeting gone.

Tracy, dogs can really make us think, can't they? I hate that you need to give her up, but skin kids come first. However, if you think that you can work with her, then think about it. I don't know how much time you have to spend working with Buffy. You could put Katie on your lap and call Buffy to you and have her sit close and guide Katie to pet her gently. You may have already done this. I may have already told you this, but our poodle shied away from Morgan after he got bonked on the nose. She just happened to put her hand out and he leaned forward at the same time. They are the greatest of friends now. I only have computer access from work, or else I would try to post a pic of Morgan and Max taken a few weeks ago. You will make the right choice for your family and we will support you in any way possible.

That's a good idea! We already have doggy panties for when she's on her period! I'll have to try that, thanks. :D As for Chris playing with them (I have 2, a Lhasa and a Shih Tzu) he loves to chase after them and just touch them. Of course they go running in the other direction! It's really cute, but they have never been ugly to him. Once, Lulu (the Lhasa) snapped at him, but not in a mean way, in a playful way. I think this weekend I will dig out the diaper and also have play time with the dogs. Chris really does love them!

I am dying to hear from Claudia to confirm if its a Chris or a Christi... and to see how it all went... and now I am starting to get a little worried since we haven't heard BUT at the same time she always only APA'd at work.
Tracy - I gotta say, as much of an animal lover as I am, I am not so sure about that doggie and little Katie. I am not a big fan of the pound either - are there any no-kill shelters around? I used to volunteer at one and it was awesome. My first though was actually old people - just like someone else suggested. A nice quiet little old lady who needs company and doesn't have kids. I just would hate hate hate to have you gone for a week and come back and tell us you were gone because the dog had done something to Katie.
Jess - congrats on the house! Yahoo!!!! It was pretty... I was wondering who was making this page so weird... it was YOU! ;)
Tonight Stella was in rare form. She was a total weirdo - crying at EVERYTHING. I mean EVERYTHING. Mom put me down - waah - mom picked me up - waah - mom thinks its my teeth and tried to give me tylenol - waah - mom took the tylenol away - waah. My crazy little girl.
Today our apartment was a WRECK and of course, this is the day the maintenance guy comes. I was so embarrassed. It was like being in the proverbial car crash wearing dirty underpants. Why don't I listen to my mother?
