There were no dolphins when I tried to watch the dolphin cam :( They're my favorite at Sea World too. I can't wait to go back to Sea World this summer. DH's parents bought us season passes and we went when Abby was 2 months and we'll go again this summer and play in the water park some too. :)
Abby started crying as soon as I passed her off to my grandma when I went to class yesterday. It's only for 2 hours every Tues/Thurs and I can't imagine leaving her all day every day. I'm sorry for you ladies that have to work. :(
My grandma is driving me insane! Every time I come back from class(never more than 2 hours later) she is in a bad mood because Abby fusses for her. She apparently doesn't grasp the concept that babies do more than eat and sleep and gets all upset if Abby doesn't eat for her. She'll try to give her something in her mesh feeder and a sippy cup of BM and Abby hasn't taken it. (She's just not hungry yet!) Plus Abby loves her momma and will fuss a little for anyone else but she takes it so personally and is acting mad at me because of it.

Oy, I hate when my grandma does that. "He wouldn't stop fussing." Umm, sometimes baby's are fussy!! Then when he's sick (which he is now) she tells me like a million times, "This baby is sick." Over and over again!! I know grandma, that's why he's on meds!!
Do ya'll go to the Sea World in San Antonio? I LOVE IT!! :D We're going to try to go this summer! I'm so excited!!

My grandma started telling me at 3 months "she's teething" every time we were there.... I know teething is a long process and they start some symptoms early but she just got her first teeth 3 weeks ago. That's a long time to here "she's teething" every week.
Yeap that's the one we went to! I can't wait to go back. My in-laws moved there last summer. We may move there this summer which would be cool. (Or we'll move to Charlottesville, Va; Williamsburg, Va; DC, Boston, Austin, or Norman, Ok) all we know is that we are moving.

AW! thanks pam. im a big volunteerer in my community. its just something ive always done! you are very sweet to say that....
im really upset at my girlfriends...one is married, no kids. two are single (there are four of us) two were college friends and one is from highschool, but we were all roommates in college and we are all 4 close. but i feel like they are casting me out because i have a baby. like one of them invited the other two to hang out tonight and they totally left me out. really hurts too.....
i know that things change, but she could have at least invited me. DH would have watched Madison so i could hang out with them. they never return my calls and its like we are just drifting apart. one of the girls is my very best friend (the married one), and shes the one that told me that they were all 3 hanging out tonight..and its like she wanted to hurt me. i know i should just let it go, but it still bothors me.......

First off I second what Pam said, you are too cool :)
My sister is having the same issue with her friends. Only a few are married and none of them have kids and she feels like she has the plague or something.
We moved right before I found I was PG so I don't really know many people here so I don't have that issue. Although I know if I still lived in Daytona I would have the same problem. DH & I only had one couple that we were friends with that were married the rest were single party people. No way I would be able to be at the club until 2am now  Not that I really did then either HAHA

you know, its NOT like i DONT go out with them. my DH watches madison so i CAN go and do things and vice versa. i just feel like they are outcasting me. my best friend of the 4 of us has moved around alot with her DH, and is now settled back here in Charlotte....and i feel like shes rubbing my face in it that SHES the one they are inviting. and they cant use the excuse that they are all single, because she isnt single...they just dont have any kids.
i just feel hurt and betrayed by them. i mean, i NEVER blow them off...i return calls and emails...i really dont think they even know how much it hurts me. when i talked to my best friend (we asked them to meet us for dinner,) and she said they were "thinking of going over there to hang out" i told her "well tell katherine thanks for the invite to hang out" and my best friend goes " you REALLY want me to tell her that" i told her that i didnt care what she did. its like she took a big poop and is rubbing my face in it...

With my sister, she started a book club with all of her friends, they would meet once a month on Wed. night....well after she had Aliyah she asked them if they could move the meet to Saturdays (since she works her nigths are her time with her DD) and maybe only meet every other month and they all Said NO! She was the one who created the group!! So she told them to kiss A$$.
She still talks to them but she said it's not the same.

okay I have something I want to complain about! I usually don't whine about DH but he really ticked me off tonight. I have been working really hard on Scrapbooking for John and I want to have as much done as possible to show my Family when we are in FL next week...anyway, I redid his birth pages today and I show them to DH and he was like "this is how you are leaving the pictures? It looks sloppy, I don't like it" I kind of layered them some. I think it looks fine but it just made me made that I had just spent hours on the pages and he thinks they look like crap

MM that totally stinks about your friends! All of my college girls live far away or else I'd have the same problem. We don't speak nearly as much as we used to, and it really makes me sad because they all talk to each other. It's not the same situation, but I know how much it can suck! I felt like that a lot, even in college, because I was the only one with a bf/fiance.
Alison, I'm sure your pages look great!!! Sometimes guys just don't get it!! It makes you happy and you're creating such awesome family memories! That's what counts!

MM - about your friend situation... as a person who, while in hawaii was not only the only married person, but the only person in a real relationship and THEN with a child, there isn't really a good excuse or reason for anyone to stop seeing you or to be like that with you. Has she been competitive with you for a long time? Because it sounds like she is jealous of you - your life, your great relationship with your Dh, your marvelous baby - and the only way she can regain any superiority over you is to make you feel like pooh.
And that is not being a good friend.
You deserve better than that. But also, we all do stupid, petty things and are blessed with patient people who wait for us to get our heads out of our asses and forgive us... perhaps just take a break from them for a while. I think someone suggested a mommy group? Honestly, after I had Stella and was surrounded by people who were wonderful, but didn't understand, I sought out mommies. I even answered an ad on craigslist for a mommy group and met two really great mommies who then introduced me to more mommies... it was just what I needed.
Anyway, I am sorry that she treated you like that. You are too wonderful for that.
And as for Alison's DH... that was rude. How dare he demand you redo it. Lets see him make a nice artistic record of your son's early years.
Butthead.

YES, sadly she HAS been like this with me our whole friendship. over things like engagement rings, and cars, and houses....stupid non important stuff. even with GRADES in college she was like this. she always HAS to be better than me at EVERYTHING....and thats exactly what she was doing. she didnt HAVE to tell me that. the more i thought about it last night and this morning, the more i KNEW thats what was going on. i really think that subtly she tries to hurt me.
she says that she lurks here and reads the postings (i never gave the the site, nor any info about the site, i always called it "my friends on APA" so she found it all on her own)....which bothors me. so im sure she will see this..but i dont care. this is a long time coming, and i just need a break from them. they are nice, good girls...we have been friends for a long time, its just there is something running deeper here with the one that i call my best friend. and she KNEW she was going over there last night...she said "oh Kat said something about hanging out tonight over at so and so's place"....what was the point in telling me that? to hurt me? yes...
there is no reason for them to do this...and i dont even think the other two meant to hurt me. it was HER that was trying to hurt me. and she knew what she was doing....

You have such a wonderful life, family, outlook and at least you realize that! I kind of feel bad that she has to spend her whole life competing with you instead of realizing the great things that she has! Sounds like a "glass is half empty" sort of situation!
This type of stuff makes me wish that all of us lived close because I sometimes feel so much closer to you all!

LOL - and the neverending race for the penis begins... such an early age for a lifetime obsession to begin, but what are we to do.
Girls are so different. I mean, Stella isn't totally unfamiliar with her hoo-haw, but she in no way races to it. Its probably as exciting to her as her knee or ankle.
Man, I had a hard customer today. She came in to register and approached my desk and the overwhelming smell of cigarettes was so thick that it was kind of gagging me. It was really gross. I swear, nothing is grosser than a PG woman smoking. Anyway, then her boyfriend comes in and he smells like pot! Sheesh. This poor kid has no chance at all. Oh yeah, and then she put breastfeeding stuff on there. Its kind of like ordering a big mac, a supersized fries and a diet coke.

Christi....I'm so sorry about your friends. I've never met a good group of friends here and I moved here 11 years ago, while in high school. It stinks. My DH is my best friend, and sometimes I just really need a girlfriend, but it's never happened. I know a few women, but they are more like aquantances (sp?)
My DH totally doesn't get scrapbooking. He says he understands keeping a book of pics and momentos, but all the decorating???? I just smile and tells him to leave me alone. It's my thing. I had to do one my senior year of high school for my comp class. I still don't get the connection with composition, but it was so cool to have. It totally got me into scrapbooking and now I have everything from my senior year to look back on.
Got a small problem...I always go to my parents on Sunday (DH works). Last weekend DD was sick and she is again or still this weekend. Yesterday I went by there for a minutes and mentioned that I would not be over if she was still sick. They gave me a huge guilt trip and made a big stink of it. My mom is going through chemo and shouldn't be around anyone sick, but she says, "oh my white blood cell count it up for another week!" I need to stay home to get things done and I really don't want to take Amanda out, she needs to stay home. Why can't they just understand that????

We are now home, so we didn't spend the entire day there. So, I'll be busy for the next two days getting stuff around here done...I don't know how full time working moms do it...my hats off to them!
Poor thing, if this cough isn't a little better by tomorrow, I'm calling the doc. She has been sick for over a week....I think it's been two colds back to back.

Kelly, I hope Amanda gets over this cough soon. I hate to hear when littles ones are sick.
Christi, I say it is thier lost. You are a great person. I wish i had a friend like you to hang out with. I lost all my friends with my ex-DH. He was so controlling that I couldn't have friends then now with this DH I have his friends which are all men. My friends are on here. I do have a neighbor and some girils from church but they do not know half of what all of you know. Aren't ya'll the lucky ones?
Jenn, I seen someone about a month ago smoking and drinking and she looked about 8 months preggy. How sad the women are dooing these things to the babies.
Claudia, Have you figured out which bedding you are getting Christi?
My Dh does not get scrapbooking either. I get out all my pics, books, etc and then Katie needs me so I think ok I am ready when I get another moment but go into the kitchen and he has put it all back up.
I had to babysit 4 other kids last night. Boy the people who have 5 or more kids has my respect. The whole night someone was fretting someone. And the baby (19 months) kept hitting and pushing Katie down. No matter what Katie tried to play with Emily (the baby) had to h ave it and would about attack Katie to get it. Emily has to be tough because she has 3 older bothers, but she doesn't have to hurt my baby. :(
on a lighter note (I am making a thread to ask about this) Katie has been letting go and standing without falling for about a min at a time. The last few days she has been pushing herself up and standing. For example she has a Leap frog Tad stuff animal, well she will place her hands on his stomach and push herself up to a standing position. And she took a very small step Saturday night while I was babysitting. They have hardwood floors and she had on her sleeper but she got one small step and tried to move her left foot but fell.

Sorry about your friends Christi! One of my friends has no time for me anymore b/c I don't fit into her way of life. stephie, you are so right. DH and i were talking about that on friday night after all this happened, about how selfish people are. and i dont even think talking to my friend is going to change anything. she will just tell me that "as long as we are there for each other...blah blah blah...." like she always does, and thats not what i want to hear.

I take Manda to the doctor this afternoon. She sounds like a little monster. Poor thing. I called to see if there was something I can be giving her and the nurse said, "Oh no! With those symptoms and as long as this has been going on, we NEED to see her." At least there won't be any shots.

Christi, about your friends, it is their loss. I had 2 friends married with kids, the rest of us (4) were single, and we managed to get together with the married ones... if they are your friends, you will make the time to do kid friendly stuff with your FRIENDS!!
I also wish we lived closer (all of us), we would have a mean mommy group, it would be wonderful!!!
Ev, sorry about DH's comment, he didn't had to be nasty!! specially since he is clueless about scrapbooking!! Dh is not crafty, so everything I do (and I am not that creative) looks wonderful in his eyes
Kelly, sorry about your mom and Manda being sick!! hope she feels better soon, and hope your mom is a little more understanding... HUGS
YAY KATIE for standing up!! soon you will be chasing her Tracy!!
Moms who smoke while PG.... I have no words, cannot believe you will do that to your baby... ** sigh **
So we went out for lunch Saturday and Dani was eating caesar salad like it was applesauce!!! it was too cute!!!
And she cried this morning again when I arrived to the daycare... I don't understand what is going on, the lady is so caring and so much fun!! as her DD is there, she gets involved and do TONS of things with them. I cried as bad as Dani when I left the daycare... GOD I HATE MY LIFE SOMETIMES!!! I was already having a hard time getting into the coming to work mentality... I wish DH was a little more understanding and would be willing to get a second job... but I know it is unfair for me to ask him to work all day so I can be home... I WANT MY MOMMY HERE!!!
This is the bedset I am getting, I LOVE IT!!! and it goes well with a natural crib. http://www.babysupermall.com/main/products/cci/cci2053094.html
We will get the crib soon!! I am having a shower at work sometime this week, we are waiting on what we get before we buy stuff. For now, I have some shelves for the closet, so I have TONS of room for Christi and Dani's clothes, and I would go shopping for homecoming outfit & all the extras one of this weekends.
Hope everybody has a good week... I am playing hookie on Friday, and spend the day with Danielle!!! I NEED IT!!!

Katie is very tired today. ??????? She was in bed for 13 hrs, she slept for about 10 hrs, woke up at 10 and now wants to go back to sleep (its 11 here) She is not eating more like a growth spurt and not acting sick.

Jess, I also get excited to hear about babies' milestones!! specially the important ones, like rolling over, sitting down, walking!!

I'm here! :D I've been a verrrrry lazy poster lately. I read everything, but then I don't reply. :? I should start replying more.
It's such a pretty day today, feels like spring! I wish I could be outside with my 2 Chris' instead of inside "working." I haven't wanted to do any work today...blah, I want to go home!! Is it Friday yet?
Speaking of home, I really need to clean mine. Don't feel like doing that either...I need some motivation!! I hate feeling so lazy!! If I was at home right now, I really think I would be napping.
Chris, poor little guy, still has diarrhea. :( I feel so bad for him, but at least his rash isn't so bad anymore. I can't wait for him to be through with this antibiotic so that the poops will stop! Last night, he got it all over our brand new sheets!! :yuck: He was playing on our bed and I felt something wet, it just flew out the side of his diaper! I guess his diaper was a little loose around the leg, but man, it was bad! I hope it doesn't stain. DH put it to soak last night, now I just have to remember to Spray & Wash it.
He was playing with his brand new Weebles when it happened. He loves balls, so I got him some Weebles 'cause they look like little balls but with faces and stuff! They're really cute, and DH kept singing, "Weebles wobble but they don't fall down." I think well have to get Chris some more when he turns 1. Which just so happens to be right around the corner! Where does the time go? It's almost time to start planning his 1st Birthday! I'm both excited and sad about it. It's kinda bittersweet, ya know?

Amanda's doctor's appointment went okay. She has an upper respritory infection and a touch of broncitis. We are watching her really close for the next few days. If her cough doesn't get any better by Thursday we will do a chest x-ray. For now, Tylenol and Benadryl will be our friends.

Did anyone watch the oscars? It was one of the best years I have ever seen! Ellen is the best hostess!!!
We were at an Oscar party and the hostess had hired a babysitter to keep an eye on the little ones which was awesome!!! I think I will do that next time I have a party... once I meet a nice girl like the one who was at the party.
Also, we went and looked at one of those new housing developments - called Kentara, and walked the houses on the inside... then the lady gave us a price sheet... minimum $503,000. I mean, this was what i would call a family house, not a super fancy (a little fancy, but not super) not huge, not a mansion. Makes me wonder who are these people? they are going to have about 25 houses in this complex, and I just have to wonder what jobs these people have that they can afford a half of a million dollar houses?
It was beautiful though. sigh.

Morgan keeps waking up at 4!!!! Ahhhhh!! This is driving me nuts. OK vent over
I have a worry.....
Morgan has alway been a skinny littl thing but I noticed last night that her belly sticks way out! I mean she looks like she is about 9 months prego. Is it normal for babies to have this beer gut looking thing. Do you think I am feeding her to much?
newmami
02-27-2007, 08:40 AM
I almost watched all the Oscars, but I get bored easily. I like Ellen too, she is hysterical!!!
 at the house prices Jenn!!! are they insane???? Prices here in FL are also high compared to the median income, and houses are mostly CRAP!!! Now people are complaining because they had an increase in Insurance (b/c of the hurricanes) and property taxes, and there is a proposal to increase sales tax and other taxes even for people who rent!!! DH and I are upset, so he said if this happens, he will consider moving out of FL! (keeping my fingers crossed)
We have a friend who is a realtor in CA... the median house is about $500k, median annual income about $60k, and YES people buy this houses!! how?? interest only mortgages, and then after a year they cash a Home equity line, as the equity on the house goes up (even though they have paid ZERO on the principal!!)
Pam, Dani also has a beer gut!!! specially after she is done eating :P . She is not fat, because when she is lying down her tummy is flat. I think it is still part of the baby fat and their bodies growing, so don't worry about it!! as long as Miss M is eating healthy and getting some exercise, she is fine!!
Poor Amanda with bronchitis :( I hope the medication does the trick and it goes away!! babies sick make me want to cry!!

I used to live in one of the fastest growing areas of California. When we first moved there the average house was about $150K. When I moved, it was about $350K. Insane. TRAILOR HOMES were going for well over $100,000.

All of the house prices aren't that high, but I was just shocked because this is NOT an affluent or fancy neighborhood, and the houses were really nice, and brand spankin' new, but the lots were small, and they were close together and meant for families - not executives. I think that's where I go huh? What normal family can afford that?
I loved Iron Chef - but only the original one with the dubs. I don't like the American one. I actually have a friend who was the dubbed voice of the fortune teller woman judge.

I hate rude people!!!! My teacher this evening had to take over for another teacher, it's the same class. So there were 40+ in this classroom and these people were soooo rude. I hate rude people as well Amanda, specially in school
I had an incident yesterday that reminded me of the Costco post from Jenn. At lunch we were talking about car accidents and this lady said that she witnessed a bad one where a teenager was killed, and then said that the one who survived got all messed up after the accident, because he was into tatoos, piercing, etc... I GOT SO MAD!!! so I said in a very rude tone "that has nothing to do with it and it doesn't make you a messed up person"..... WTF????? I should not be surprised considering this is not the first time I hear intolerant and ignorant comments coming out of her stupid mouth!!
So I thought one of my coworkers was just sloppy and distracted about work, but I am starting to believe she is truly STUPID!! she asks me the dumbest questions... I AM TIRED OF HER!!

oh man i realized just now that tomarow is the 1st so we go to get luceas ears rechecked...i decided that i am standing my ground..NO MORE antibiotics AT ALL! she had her 4th dose of them in 2 months and i have had it..either they can refer me to the ENT that cy went to for tubes or find soemthing that will help her..the dumb meds made her butt so sore, she ran through all her clothes all the time..she hurt when we changed her, when she sat down, crawled, her poor bottom was so raw..I love her pediatrician but honestly we need to do soemthing if her ears are filled with fluid not just put her on meds.
OK DONE VENTING! THANK YOU THANK YOU for listening

I don't blame you for saying no more medication!!! babies can become immune to them after taking them for a long time, and why risk poor Lucea with a bad rash in her bottom???
I hope the ENT has a better answer for you!!
So they organized this babyshower for me at work, but I have NO CLUE when it is!! I have my suspicions it is this Friday, but I already decided to call in sick and stay with Danielle.... should I change plans or let them deal with the disappointment???
I got a little tired of not doing anything for ME TIME, so I want to make growth charts for Dani & Christi... the ones you mark every time you measure them. I found couple of ideas on the internet (yeah I am working hard today) and I cannot wait to get all I need to make them!!

Although my doc said she wanted to see how things were going and determine at the end of the month whether she wants me to be on the Wellbutrin for 3, 4 or 6 months. 3 months would be end of April, 4 end of May, but 6 would be end of July! Went to Sam's Club when I got off work (to buy formula) and they had Carter's Onesie/Dress Combo things for $5.47! I bought four of them!! They are so cute and SOOOOO cheap!

Luceas went crappy..ears are still filled with fluid..so the doc said we have one last attempt to clear them up..a shot everyday for three days of a heacy antibiotic..she said its our last attempt to try avoid surgery.. :( gal darn it...so i held lucea tight and they stuck her.. mama cried..lucea cried..DH has to take her in the morn for the next one and i have to take her again saterday..i am just so sad..i feel like i am doing something wrong with my kids being sick..cy with his tubes, tonisils and adenoids oout and now poor lucea faceing possible tubes..i feel rotten..
but lucea was a trooper she cried and than the nurse gave her a sucker and she gave her a half a$$ smile..

I hope little Chris and little Lucea get better! Darn it Sarah - breastfeeding is supposed to cure all those ear issues! Does she have really small Eustachian tubes? I did and that's why fluid wouldn't drain well from my ears and I ended up with tubes in them.

YES! when he doc was looking in her ears she said OH MY she has tiny tiny ears and tubes...she had to cleana bunch of wax out because it sticks in here..she said that to coudl be from the small ears..so i am guessing tubes are in the future..which honestly is fine wiht me..i just want to get it over with..cy had to suffer for so many years before we got his done..

I work for a healthcare staffing company, as a staffing coordinator. I basically staff nurses in hospitals nationwide at all hours of the night (I generally take care of 1st shift). Some nurses are hard working and will do anything for you and a shift, but there are a large number of lazy, crappy nurses. Makes me think twice of going to the hospital for anything.

Meatloaf, spinach and mashed potatoes sounds DELICIOUS!!! hope your dinner was awesome!!

I can't think about how Johnnie Depp smells... I know that I would probably gag, actually, because I have read that he is a pretty heavy smoker... but I just can't think about that because, well, he is SOOOOOO hot!
Not as hot as Antonio Banderas... sigh... but hot nonetheless.
I cannot help but recognize Tom Cruise's handsomeness, but I no longer think he is hot. I guess its the whole "brainwashing a 25 year old girl" thing...

Tubes update: Chris still has some fluid in both of his ears, but they look considerably better than they did 10 days ago, so we're going to prolong the antibiotic for another 10 days. If at the end of 10 days he's all better, no runny nose, no congestion, than we're good to go. If he's not all better, back to the dr we shall go. He said it's good that the antibiotic is working, so maybe we can get the ears cleared without the tubes. Crossing my fingers!!

On a side note I was thinking.... On craigs list if you go to Rants and Raves it says this
craigslist > rants and raves > warning & disclaimer
unless all of the following points are true, please use your "back" button to exit this part of craigslist:
1. I am at least 18 years old.
2. I understand rants and raves may include offensive content.
3. I agree to flag as "prohibited" anything illegal or which otherwise violates the craigslist terms of use.
4. By clicking on the links below, I release craigslist from any liability that may arise from my use of this site.
rants and raves
Maybe we need to be able to put that as a disclamer in case we are posting some thing that could cause "Drama"
but on the other hand some times you can post about some thing that you wouldn't think could cause drama but the subject gets changed and bam drama!

Yogurt - I get a kind here that is local that is sweetened with fruit juice, which I love. I'll bet you could find that too! Unless you are less of a sugar nazi than I am. I don't know what it is. I just hate hate hate giving her sugar. Its not going to kill her!
When I interview whomever I select to be my OB for our next baby, one of the criteria that she will have to be aware of is that I will refuse the 3 hour GD test. It was the single most miserable thing that happened to me through my whole pregnancy and labor. And I won't do it again. Why? I am intolerant to sugar. So I avoid it most times (not always) and when I don't, I pay for it. So when I take the 1-hour screen, of course it says - guess what! Sugar intolerance! Anyway, unless I feel like there is something different about my sugar intolerance, i cannot do that test ever again. You are a brave brave soul!

I'd like to think I could live without APA, unfortunately I'm not sure I could do it on my own. Say if it were to be down, I'd be fine, but if it's there and I am bored I just fidget and come back and back and back. I really should be doing other things.
I think/hope we are going to take Kenny-Ray to the snow this weekend. He hasn't been since he was about three 15 months old and I know he really wants to make a snowman. I hope the levels have dropped so we don't have more than an hour drive. Other than that, I guess we'll hang out at home. I did buy Flicka a week ago and still have not watched that.

I joined the forum to say hi to Traci because she's my weight loss pal, but I don't like how they are all trash-talking APA and the mods (especially). But the funniest thing is that Traci (kellar) is doing the least amount of bashing... she's actually the one who is saying, don't go making trouble - that's not why I created this site. Actually, she has kept up the request that it not be an APA bashing site, to a point where she has requested certain posters to remove their post.
I believe that she really wants her site to fly, so she doesn't want it buried in negativity.
Unfortunately a lot of the people who 'hate' all the drama are the ones who are most likely to cause it...and some of them are on Kellar's site.
I don't envy her, she will find it difficult to control the site's integrity.
...but so far so good.

oh really? is that why she repeatedly said that APA needs to "dump" the mods? or that she lets people on her site call members here "LAME" or "B******"? (all these are direct quotes) also she has said that certain members are "liars" in fact THAT information is in a thread called "Im sick of the liars"
so i KNOW there is APA bashing over there...ive seen it.
i do agree with you on the "drama" thing tho Julie. and IMO her site has NO integrity...BECAUSE of MOST (yes i said MOST) of the members. (there are exceptions...you being one of them, among a few others)
im not going to banter with you or anyone else about that site. it came up in this thread. this thread is 250+ pages long and not one stitch of it has DRAMA in it, and im not starting that now. this conversation is OVER, and CLOSED. i wont speak of that site in this thread anymore, and taint this good natured conversation with stupidity like that....

Amen sista!
So my dad is finally coming to visit today. He hasn't been down once since Hayden was born. We've been to visit them a few times, but he just kept putting off coming down here. Finally I told him that it really hurt my feelings that he would go somewhere else that's the same distance, but always found an excuse not to come down here. It's only 1.5 hours away!
They're (he's with sm) late already, but at least they are coming. They haven't even seen Hayden's nursery!

Did you do anything special or just wait for her to be ready on her own time?
MarchMommy
03-03-2007, 11:26 AM
i worked with her...once i dropped the daytime nursing sessions....it all kind of came together. it was weird. cause shes always been a boob girl to fall asleep. so that worried me...but she shows signs of being tired, i would say "night night" over and over again. put her in her crib, tell her i love her, and leave the room. she would fuss no longer than 5 mins, and if she did i would go in and console her. today was the FIRST day that ive set her in there and she laid right down.
this is SUCH a blessing for us, now that im not nursing...i guess i should have put more faith in the people who told me that "she will get it down eventually" and she has come FULL circle! its awesome, and im proud of her!

but the nap thing is AWESOME.... guess it just took her a while to understand what "night night" means. and now when shes getting tired she will tell me "ni-ni"
and into the crib she goes!

Boy I have missed alot!!
I have been so sick! I think i must have bronchitis. My thoart hurts and I have drainage but I cough and cough. I feel fine in the morning but by the end of the day me head hurts, my stomach hurts and my chest hurts from coughing! I pray Katie does not get this but she has shown signs of feeling bad. Christi I hope you and Madi are not sick. Remember me saying my thoart hurt after eating the salad? Well I have been getting sicker since. PLEASE tell me I didn't get that sweet, pretty baby sick. I am gald I didn't ask to hold her or even touch her.
Well I have to say DH is starting to be better with Katie. He stays in the floor playing with her and tonight she is playing with the remote and he was watching a ball game but just laughs when she changes the channel. He will say "well now we are watching....., is that what you want to wach sweetpea?" I think losing his job has gotten them closer. Of course now she crys when he leaves the room. Mama is not good enough anymore. No matter who leaves the room she cries when she is left with me.
So since we have taken 3 steps the other day she will not even try to walk again. I guess this is normal?
haydensmom
03-03-2007, 07:16 PM
I've heard that it's normal for babies to take a few steps and then stop for a week. Soon enough she'll be running around! I bet it'll only be a few more days!
Hayden seemed to hit a developmental milestone today. He figured out that it was GREAT fun to throw something and have someone return it. He also started standing while holding onto something (we stood him up, but he held on tight) for about 5 minutes. Also, he's started going from a sitting to a crawling position, but only holds it for a few seconds. I'm not sure if he'll walk or crawl first. Either way, I'll be chasing him around soon.
Can I just say that I can't WAIT for summer!!!! It will be so fun to take him outside and run around - we can go to the playground - the park - play in the grass. I live in an apt but I'm SO getting a little kiddie pool! It'll be so fun to have him at the crawling/walking stage! I'm psyched. I'm sure you all are too! They're getting so big!

03-03-2007, 09:17 PM
Yay Hayden!! Before long he will be pulling himself up to stand. It is so cute to walk into the room when she walks from a nap to see her standing and smiling. Of course it is not too cute when she wakes at night and is standing talking to me.
I can't wait until summer either, I took Katie outside for a few mins earlier in the week.

I've lost another 2 pounds this week, so I'll need to be shopping for me before too much longer

So dh and I had a fight this morning. We almost never fight, but it was a pretty bad one. We're acting normal, but I'm pretty hurt. There's a recurring issue (don't worry - not cheating or anything) that he has lied to me about in the past. Well I just found out last night that he's lying again about it. This is the fourth time. The carter's outlet by us is having a huge sale as well! I went on Friday and got some really cute summer stuff for Hayden! Also, if you spend $50, you get a $10 check for use there... and it's not like, you have to spend so much in order to use it... just spend $10 and you owe nothing but taxes! :D
Bells614
03-05-2007, 08:30 AM
Yup, I got $20 worth of gift cheques...just another excuse to go shopping again! I'm pretty sure all the stores are having the 50% off sale...but only on baby stuff (up to 24 months). The toddler and kids sizes aren't included.
I bought a wedge to put in Amanda's crib last night. While she has been sick, the nights have been rough, almost like a newborn again. She slept through the night last night (thank goodness!) But, she woke up with the awful cough still. She also had some blood in her snot. I feel so bad for her! I can deal with being sick myself, I just wish she would kick this.
I'm sorry Jess! I found out about a lie my DH had been telling be for about as long as we had been married. I struggled with it, he says he doesn't do it anymore (just like you, not cheating or anything), but I'm not 100% sure. He hid it from me for 4.5 years, he could be hiding it still. I know how much it stinks (((HUGS)))

Wow!! this thing grew 3 pages since my last visit!!!
Sorry for all the sick kids and mommies!! hope everybody feels better soon
Walking, Dani did that, couple of steps for Daddy, then NOTHING for some days, then walk again, now I am wondering what is the hurry on having them walk (I just chase her around non stop!!!)
Yay for the weight loss Kelly!!!
Problems with Dh... I really hate those!! when are men going to understand that lying makes things worse?? we get upset of whatever they do PLUS the lying... if they just tell us, it is one less Grrr!!!
Too cute Christi that Madi says Ni ni! it is awesome when they start talking and understanding words. Dani will tell me that she is hungry, and if I tell her bath time, she says agua (water) and goes to the stairs... As Jess said, it is amazing watching them grow!!!
The "baby shower" was a fiasco  ... nothing major except a cake... I should have taken the day off!!
So it seems like I am convincing DH to move out of FL... not in the near future, but at some point.. YEAH!!! we are concerned with the bad schools, traffic problems and insecurity!!! if he could transfer with Coca Cola somewhere else, it would be great!! I can honestly work anywhere!!
We went to Disneyworld on Saturday. Dani has been all excited about a little plush Mickey Mouse that she has, so we took her to see the real deal... she gave the biggest smile and was all excited, it was PRICELESS!! until MM decided to play peekaboo and freaked her out!!!
And I just want to say I am upset and sad that my Thank you Mods post was locked..... I would leave it there!!!

So is this any inkling of what my week will belike..Got a call from cys school at 9:30..he got hit in the nose and bled all over his pants, shirt, neck everywhere and was feeling lightheaded..so matt had to run get him for awhile..PLEASE maybe this is the one bad thing for the week and the rest will be easier..

That sooooo sucks that there weren't any presents at the shower! Obviously you don't need a ton of stuff, but they could've at least gotten you a gift card or something. You still need diapers and wipes and stuff!! Maybe that's materialistic of me, but I thought that (and cake) was the whole point of a "shower." To "shower" you with gifts??? duh!

Pam, I hope your date happens. You deserve to be happy! How's Morgan doing, new pics please!!
Claudia, sorry your shower was lame. That's no fun! I want to see new pics of Dani too!!
In fact, I want to see new pics of everyone's babe!!! I put a new one in my siggy. I love it!

The room is awesome Sarah!!! I like those letters, what did you make them with?
Oh Jen, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you and the opera job! I sooo want to go to Hawaii. I've been thinking of starting a little savings project for a nice trip like that. I get a bonus each week, nothing big, like $20-$45, I've been putting it in Amanda's savings account, but I might start a trip account with it. Though Manda does deserve it more.
I got my computer back!!!! The motherboard went out two weeks ago...some how everything stayed on the computer...**** $135 we spent to back it up wasn't needed  BUT, I'm so happy we have it back.

I love Bonuses...we should all ge tmore of them..i think a trip account is a good idea..thast what i did...my DH doesnt even know it exists..isnt that horrible..but he is such a spender htat if he knew i had $350 he would find something he needs..
I made the letters out of fake flowers from hobby lobby..i picked out some fun colors and flowers and went wiht it..i had seen it in a magazine but didnt want to pay $50 bucks so i made it for probubly $10
i will take a close up so you can see how i did it

I love that room!!!!
Hawaii - air tickets $350 per person ($700) and I put an ad on Craigslist with all the things I wanted in a place to stay, so we'll be staying in a three bedroom house with access to a pool, laundry, with a full kitchen and a huge plasma TV for only $80 per night! We won't have to pay for parking either. And it is on the quiet side of the island in kailua where Stella was born. So... doing the math... 80 times 4 is $320, so $1020 so far... our rental car will be around $40 a day so $160 for that... and then food - but since we are there for a wedding 3 out of 4 dinners are being paid for by someone else! And with the kitchen, we can just make breakfast. So really we're just looking at lunch.
Man that was long. Sorry. Anyway, you can go to Hawaii on a small budget - all said, we're looking at $1500 total for the trip for all three of us.
Yuck. I have to go to Walmart. I hate Walmart, but I need some fabric for the mei tais and they have a bunch of good fabrics for much less than my fabric store. Soon as Stella finishes her lunch...

Wow Jenn, you made that trip so affordable! So you just put an ad on Craig's list? I would never think to do that!
Candice, your new siggy pic is ADORABLE! He's getting so darn big!
Sarah, Lucea's room looks awesome! Those flowers are so neat and very creative! You rock!
Dh bought me flowers, which is surprising... he usually doesn't buy into the whole "guys buy flowers when they've messed up" cliche... he usually just buys them randomly, but it was nice. He also sang to me and attempted to get me to slow dance, but I'm just not in that "lovey" place with him. He's trying, God Bless Him.

Jenn, I hope you have a great trip and I am just a little jealous. Ok who am i kidding I am sooooo jealous. LOL! I think I will talk with DH and since it sounds cheap maybe we can go. I am glad your interview went well, I hope you get a job there. BTW I am planning on ordering, I just haven't had alot of time to get online so I haven't gotten a chance to look at your page. I will get to it tomm morning I promise (maybe if miss priss goes down soon I wil tonight)
Jess I know how those fights go. I was not in the lovely place for about a month with Dh and it happen to be over Valentines day, I just gave him money and told him where to go. hehehe Hugs to you. At least he is trying, my DH just acts as if he did no wrong until I get over it.
Carters sale, I am so glad I dont live closer to the outlet. With DH not working I would have spent the bill money.

The airline tickets are only $307 right now! Shnikey I wish I could buy them tonight!!!
I would love a surprise too, but I want another girl so badly that we are going to have to time it perfectly so that we can do the fast sperm/slow sperm thing again.
Craigslist is a beautiful thing. If I am ever rich, I am going to donate a large sum to Craig.

Tralynn,
I fed my dd yogurt from 5 months on because I went back to work and she wouldn't take any type of bottle; so she got regular yogurt and water or juice in a sippy cup while at the daycare.
She survived very well, and never had to have any penicillin until she was four years old.

ok so im making this picture montage DVD of a bunch of madisons 1st year pics from my digital camera to play at her party. i just want it to play continously and give people a focal point and something cute to look at because we have TWO divorced families coming, and various other people. so i made it last night...nothing special...just 7 seconds per pic, and they were all random. worked on it for 3 hours...and i could NOT get it to burn onto a DVD...  my stepbrother is going to try to get it done for me, but im like freaking....

Christi, are you burning it onto the right kind of DVD? When I was trying to burn a video to a DVD and having trouble I learned that I was trying to burn onto a "+" (plus) DVD when really I needed to be using a "-" (minus). It worked out to be a simple solution, but took for freakin' ever for us to figure it out.
Good luck!
I won't even bother replying to all the other exciting and cool stuff going on with everyone... I'm so behind in this thread!!! :P

Yogurt is OK for a 9 month old Tracey
I love those letters Sarah!! I need to put up the ones I made for Danielle, they are not fancy, but would light up her room!! I also need to make some for Christi and arrange the nursery to make room for her stuff!! we bought this racks for the closet and now I have TONS of space, I love it!!!
Christi, the DVD idea sounds wonderful!! grandparents always appreciate pictures of the little ones!! My parents print the ones I put on Dani's website, and have a whole display in their house!! too cute!!!
Hey Jenn, next time I want to travel, I would hire you as my travel agent!! $1500 for a trip to Hawaii sounds WONDERFUL!!!! I am jealous too, and DH has no interest in going to Hawaii (hates beaches).... I would need to find him a photography tour to convince him to go there!!! :?
The chinese calenda was correct with Danielle..... it says Christi would be a boy...hmmm.... who should I believe, the U/S or the internet information?????

NO!! I freaked out too!! I was already devising a plan in my head about what to do. We would have to start a new one and title it the same thing, so we could still find it and maybe even get Pam to start it...etc... I was scared too!!

What a cutie Caiden is!!! We thought Amanda was going to have curls, NOPE! Straight as a board!
Am I nuts? I just reserved a shelter at the park for Amanda's first birthday.
Little Vent...for school we have to do a group project (more like pairs, but still). It's a FIVE week class. We don't have time to be doing a GROUP project. Add to it, my partner is anal retentive about everything. We just need to pick a movie, that is all that needs to be done by tonight (we have had three weeks to do it) and we still don't have it done! AHHH!!!!!
Thanks!

According to the chinese calendar, Stella should have a penis... YIKES!
I had every intention of making a DVD like that for her birthday, but between the holidays, the teething, the party and working 6 days a week, I couldn't do it. I still intend on making a "Stella's first year" video, but probably when I get my laptop back.
I HATE group projects at school. It always drove me nuts because I always felt like i was the only one doing the work.
And as far as this thread getting closed? PAH! We have other ways of keeping the peace here than just locking and closing. If you ladies just ignore any bad comments, they will go away. Just like y'all did!

Thanks Amanda! BTW, I liked Amanda's floppy hat I sent for the swap so much that I had to go last week and get a boyish camoflauge version for Caiden. :P
I hated group projects. I'm the type of person who likes to do it all myself and all my way. I always took school very seriously, especially college where I had my own money invested, and it stressed me out to have people influencing my grades who didn't care as much as I did.
Yeah... people probably hated being in groups with me. Or they loved it because I did all the work.

Yeah, people love that, they get a good grade for free!!!
I agree the picture of Caiden is precious!! love the little curls and the blond hair!!!
Dani also has some curls to show off... hope you can figure them out on her messy hair!!!

Ugh, I hated group projects too. I didn't like having to meet with people I didn't know outside of class. I'm very shy  so I had issues.
What did everyone have for lunch? I had Fazoli's (fast food Italian) and there special was a triple sampler for $2.99!! So I had spaghetti, fetticini alfredo, and a piece of pizza! It was delicious! I ate like a cow though!

I hated class projects because I insisted on doing all the work because I didn't trust anyone else with getting the grade I wanted.
