Glad you are feeling better.
So what is laptime? I have heard of story time, is it the same thing? We have it on Tuesdays here and have not thought of taking Katie since she was so young. Maybe I ought to try it.
As for that baby running over Madi...I would have been mad too If I was MAdi. Walking on her knees??????? Did her mom say why on earth she was doing it? Thats seems strange to me.

Jen...i totally attribute the weight loss to nursing. for the first 3 months i hardly lost anything, then it all just kinda melted off. now that im weaning (i just started on tuesday) im nervous that ill gain some of it back!!
laptime is storytime...they have it here at the local library for 9-36 months then they have one for older toddlers too. its fun, madi is usually the youngest one. there is a little one that comes that i swear could be stella rubi's twin. shes SOOO adorable. she just turned one and she is just so cute!
its also strange to "compare" my child to others. there is one little boy there who is 14 months old and hes still crawling on his tummy (the army crawl). i hope that going gives madi some motivation to start walking.
but its basically storytime with songs and a "theme" today was the letter "B". (i assume LAST weeks was the letter "A", but we missed it cause madi was sick, and taking a nap)
its pretty fun!!! madison loves it!!!
im not sure why the girl was walking on her knees, but it was apparant that she had some issues with her legs. she seemed to have on "special shoes" too. but her little legs were bowed out some, and she walked on her tippies!!

We have lapsit at our library too and I took Abby last fall regulary (from 2 months to 5 months) but I can't now because it's Thursday mornings when I have class. Abby really enjoyed it too. She was the youngest one almost every time. It usually was lots of nursery rymes (Baa baa black sheep, black birds, open shut them, good morning, twinkle twinkle - each song had its own prop to look at as well) and every baby got a book to look at. They never actually read a book to the whole group because it wouldn't keep their attention. Ours from from newborn to walkers. Then they had another group for older babies.

she always sounds pretty loopy .. but IMO i think a lot of it is a show she puts on to make herself look like an idiot...from the documentaries i watched her son meant the world to her and i am guessing her daugher did as well...i hope they find otu who that babies dad is so she can maybe maybe have somewhat of a normal life..
my husband just called and his friends mom died in her sleep today..she is young i am assueming..DH was gonna take the day off to drink with him..umm no your not honey...i told him to invite him over this weekend to hang out that sounds much smarter to me..
well i made it through both my seminars..got home last night at 10:30 and was wound up till 12:00..i had to pry DH away form his xbox to come to bed..can you imagine that..good lord..i kep telling he was gonna have to hire me a boy toy if he couldnt keep up
well lulu starts another round of antibiotics..i guess her ear is still pink..both antibiotics before mad eher butt terribly red and sore so i quit them early..yeah probubly not smart but she hurt so bad..so now we are gonna go through it all over agian..10 frickin days of pain..AHHHHHHHHHH

I just keep thinking there is a little girl now without a mom, and it makes me so sad. I am not a fan of ANS, but she was a mom, and a little girl needs her mom. I just hope that the men vying for fatherhood of that little girl do right by her.
I'll take her! No support needed - nothing. I'll do it!

My doctor prescribed a nystatin cream when Morgan got a rash from her antibiotics. It seemed to help quite a bit. I'm sorry if you have already tried this.

I keep telling myself a bfp isn't possible because I had a period, but dh and I did bd when I o'ed last month (with a condom - obviously didn't know I was o-ing)... Also, my cat's been super lovey - he was only like that with me when I was pgy with Hayden..
My mind is running away from me... eep! Just tell me it's not even possible! It's soooo highly unlikely! Right???

All i keep thinking today is that ANS's little girl is without a mom. It is so sad. Then it freaks me out because I think what if i die early? Where will my baby be. Drew is sooo not capable of taking care of Katie and Dylan is too young but would do a better job then DH.
Ok so i need to rant a little..something new huh?
So the last 2 times I went to the grocery store I have had to hurry up and leave so I would not punch the lights out of this mom or cry my eyes out. So this is probably going to sound mean but for goodness sakes if both parents are present then why cant one take the misbehaving child to the car or better yet being it was 8pm tonight (and around the same the other time) couldnt one parent stay home with the kids!!!! Dh works 2nd shift so I so understand having to take the kids..heck I normally do anyway because I dont trust Dh with my pride and joy. But being so late wouldnt you expect small kids to be tired!!! Tonight I just wanted to scream. This mom had 3 kids, two small enough for the red car grocery cart and one about 10. Well the little girl wanted stuff, chips, drinks, cookies (uuummm she is a kid) the mom kept screaming at her saying i dont care what you want shut up and stay in the cart. Dad was there also fussing at the little girl. The other small child was not even talking. But the 10 yr old was putting drinks and chips in the cart for herself. The little girl was saying mom such and such got some chips and i want some. The mom still said no to the little one. I soooo wanted to buy some chips for her and telll her mom off. Well I move on quickly and bite my tounge. Before i got out the older child also bought doughnuts saying it was for her class tomm. and the younger one was crying by now, well the dad said if you dont shut up I am going to bust your a$$. I started crying and left. Why in the world, even if she was bad that day you cant buy for one and not the other. Maybe I am just soft but I would never treat my children like that. Heck I spent 5 dollars on babyfood and was trying to pick out something for DS just so I would be spending the same and my kids were not with me.
Ok sorry for the ranting!!

I heard about ANS... wonder if the pain of losing her son + PPD had something to do with it... either way, I feel bad for her DD, I am sure the 2 men would be fighting for custody and the $$$$
Sarah, sorry about your DH's friend!! I agree, having him home is better than going out to drink!
Tracey, that episode in the supermarket is SOOOOO wrong!!!! the parents should be more tolerant with their kids, even if they are tired... then go to the supermarket earlier!!! We go grocery shopping in the afternoon and I ALWAYS bring a snack for Dani, so she doesn't get cranky... and for crying out loud, they could have come to an agreement on what to get those kids... cookies are a nice treat if you don't abuse them!!
I would have been crying too... people who abuse their kids make me want to scream!!
We were at the mall the other day and saw the paramedics there, walked by (they were on our way to Radioshack) and saw a guy kneeling, so I assumed he was the one feeling bad... kept walking and saw the gurnie with a little girl (about 3-4 years), with oxygen... I almost started crying right there!! I assume the guy was the dad and he lost it when something happened to his little girl

I told my mom the same thing last night! I couldn't help but feel like some one needs to give this girl a normal life.
So to you think Howard K. has any thing to do with the deaths of both her and her son?
newmami
02-09-2007, 10:13 AM
I don't think he had anything to do with the deaths... I guess the son was just depressed and OD, and I honestly believe ANS couldn't handle everything at the same time!
Someone please slap me and tell me to go back to work??? I have been fooling around ALL morning looking at baby bedding (sometimes I should NOT look at certain posts here  ) and letting my mind wonder on the things I need to do for Christi... and the WORST part is that I DON"T CARE ABOUT WORK ANYMORE!!!!!

I love that - I envision you sitting there with your feet up on your desk, popcorn in lap, watching.
I can't WAIT to watch Ugly Betty!!! I was too tired last night after work, and Stella was still up (late afternoon nap).
I get SO frustrated at situations like that Tracy. If they couldn't be kind to their kids, why did they have them? They are probably the poster children for "my mama beat me growing up and I turned out just fine" people. I see it in BRU too, although not a whole lot (I think most of them register at walmart here.) I just don't understand why it is so hard for parents to understand that their kids are little people who deserve respect and kindness.
Today is pay day! Yesterday was so pathetic. I had to drive about 25 miles with my gas gauge needle resting on the little peg waaaay below empty, then stop at a gas station, scrounge up all my coins and put $1.49 into my tank. It would have been $1.48 had someone not dropped a penny right outside the door of the gas station. But on a good note, its 2 in a row now of pay periods where we haven't overdrawn our account!

Oh I can so relate!!!!!
Dh just got a new job and we are actually making it from one payday to the next without going in the hole. There was a little while there where we had NOTHING and were going in the hole 200 bucks every month. We had to go to our church and get a food box or we would have gone hungry.
Now, we still pretty much live hand to mouth, but we are living and things are much better.

I am just praying my tax return comes in before Ms. M's day care is due or we are in trouble. Last month I thought grooming would be slow and BAM I was up to my ears in dog hair! This month on the other hand people make appointments but don't keep them. "its to cold" "its to wet" "i want to go out of town" I have heard every thing this month. At least those people call to CX there appointment! I hate it when I am paying a baby sitter and then they don't show up and lose money.

I don't even want to go into the money issue, because I get depressed... the SAD thing is that DH and I make good money... we are just up to our neck on credit card debt!! (it went up when DH's hours were cut for almost a year!!!)... if we didn't had to pay credit cards, we will have plenty extra per month (about 1500 if you are curious)
That is why when they opened my eyes about "you may get fired", it didn't sounded like a bad idea. We rent a house and my car is still being paid for, so we were thinking about filing BK (irresponsible, I know  ) clean all that debt and start all over again!!
Which reminds me, lottery is 42MM here... if I win, I will share with my lovely friends from APA... 529 for all the kids!!!!
Pam, Morgan and Dani wore the same hat for their birthday party!!! too cute!!
I had 2 chocolate cakes slices today.... OOPS!!! no GD test for me tomorrow!!

filing B/K isn't fun but...... I did it about 7 years ago and I am fine now. I bought a home I have a nice car and most of the time I am able to keep my head above water. Then only reason I am having some trouble now is because of the whole EX DH thing. Like I said its not fun but some times you just can't help it and you have to do whats best for your family. :D

So what are your thoughts on ADD, kids and meda..etc etc etc..blah blah blah.
CY had his 1st grade teachers conf last night and he is doing great in all the subjects but she said he is really really having a hard time focusing and staying on task..she gives him a worksheet and it takes him 20 mintues to get rollin on it..and by that times its time to be done with that so he ends up missing activites because he is finishing his work.. :( so he feels bad..
i want to cry..i am not a big medication fan but i do not want him to feel bad and struggle when there could be something that could help him wiht these things..i know kids who have had such good luck on medication.but i hate the thought of altering who he is..
i have an appt with his doc on monday to recheck luceas ear inf..so i think i am going to ask her for a referral to somone ot have him tested for ADD..i think it would be a child psychologist ?
i feel bad for him..i know he loves to learn and to have this problem makin him struggle..
and i notice things at home..like when we are reading he will be upside down. backwards. sideways. hanging from the ceiling fan..all while reading.. :( he just has a har time sitting still and focusing on what he is doing..

OMG Jai!! I hope everything ends on a happy note and that you don't have to stress about this anymore
Christi, try the Danactive yogurt, it should help you with the stomach pains... antibiotics are the worst for the gastric system!!
So I have been feeling very down lately, and I was wondering if I could have PPD, or would it be Antepartum depression?? anyways, I have an appointment with my OB this Friday, will have a word with him.!
My problem is that WORK SUCKS and I am sick and tired of it.... and feel guilty that I have to take both girls to daycare instead of being with them..
On the other hand, DH and I had a wonderful talk yesterday about finances. He agreed to use some of the tax money to payoff credit cards, and make a plan to payoff all our debt without ruining our credit... it may take a while, but we are commited to make it work!!!
No offense taken from the girls who want to be PG again... been there, done that too!!! :P

:soapbox:
I would say 75% of what my clinic does is testing for ADD and ADHD. Please have him tested before they medicate him!! I am sure you will but you would be shocked to see how many people out there will have the doc. give them and RX without them ever being tested. Sigh OK OK off my soap box now!

My dd was sent for testing in grade 1 for ADD. The teacher thought that she should be on drugs for the same reasons. Thank goodness the doctor agreed with me that she did not need the drugs!
Unless your child is acting out uncontrollably and is ruining your homelife as well as getting in a lot of trouble at school, I am against fixing the problem with any meds. Even then, I would be using trial and error with different foods first to change his behavior. (There are books on this)
The drugs will almost guarantee that your child will be a drug addict when they get older! (One friend's doctor advised her of this when she put her son on them) Another incident with this same friend...Her son was in grade 2, on meds, and was sitting at his desk. He pulled a plastic bag over his head and tried to commit suicide at his desk! They had to put him on antidepressants as well as all the other drugs.

I agree with the other ladies Sarah. Definatley have him tested. It could be any number of things, other than ADD. Some doctors get a little drug crazy and will prescibe anything, just to get you out the door, it's so very sad. I've read so much about this topic in my Education of Exceptional Children class, it really could be any number of things.
Claudia, I really hope you start to feel a bit better!

Sarah - I think that there are some incidences of ADD and ADHD, but I think that it is WAY over-diagnosed, so I would encourage you to tread with caution (sounds like you are anyway.) As far as the drugs go, although I don't believe that my niece is ADD/ADHD, my sister does and has her on medication. When she takes her medications it doesn't change who she is, it just makes her a little mellower.
On a sidebar, it POs me because when she chooses not to take her medication and does any misbehaviors, her parents blame it on the drugs and get pretty snotty about it. I hate that. Well, that and i don't really think she has been so bad.
Claudia - I hope its just situational and now APPD.
Jai - we are waiting on pins and needles! If he did lose his job, would he be able to collect unemployment? What is the job market like where your area?
Stella has been climbing... and Stella has been falling. Poor thing. But she is still determined to keep climbing and I am proud of her for not being afraid!

Sarah, my only advise would be to have Cy tested and maybe more than 1 opinion before giving him any medication
Maybe he is too smart and he gets bored at school.... or maybe he is just one of those kids who cannot sit still for more than 5 min. My SIL was like that, nothing wrong, just antsy
DH's son was like Cy during 1st and 2nd grade, he would have all this bad notes about moving around, hitting, yelling, etc. He was never tested for ADD because his mom was in denial, but all the sudden he stopped.
This issue with Cy is it new or just started? I wonder if it has something to do with Daddy's MS, and he is acting up because he is confused/scared about Daddy????
Poor Stella falling over!!!! I agree it is amazing how tenacious they are. Dani roll from the stairs on Sunday afternoon, yesterday she was already climbing again!!!
Thanks for the good wishes girls!! DH is concerned about my bleh! attitude at work, and is concerned that at some point they will fire me... well I am doing my job, I just don't have the energy to fight on daily basis with someone who is on a power trip, and feels the need to prove to everybody she is the one running the show!! (I think she is scared of being fired, so she is making herself useful)

Sarah,
I hope you don't think I am not for the medications. I think they are great for the people who really need them. We are having a big problem with doctors in this area just giving the medications out with out even testing to see what the problem is. Some times its like what one of the other moms said.... the child is gifted and bored out of there mind so they can't sit still and can't stay focused. I know you are a GREAT mom and will make the best choice for your family and didn't want you to think I thought other wise. :D

 I just had to give you some gruff... :D
I would never medicate without complete and thourough examination and maybe 5 more after that...i think drugs are prescribed WAY to often adn just to make active kids sit still..heck you even hear of preschoolers on them..sad sad sad...i am going to google some alternatives and ideas and see what i can come up wiht..the good thing is i really love his pediatrician and trust her so i know she will have some good info for me..he has been having this for awhile..kindergarden was the same way..but i hated his teacher so i wasnt receptive  she was so negative and sent him to the principal everyday and sent bad notes home all the time..way to make a kid feel good...so this year since i liek his teacher and know she wouldnt tell me this if she wasnt really concerned for cy i listen a bit more..
so any news from Jai yet?
what is with miss stella fallin down? what is she climbin on?
lucea watches for the gate to be down and heads immedietly upstairs..i caught her at the top the other day and felt horrible..god if she had fallen i would nevr have forgiven myself.

Jai, thinking of you. I think I had to wait 2 weeks for unemployment here but it was ok since our pay was on a 2 week delay. Of course with unemployment you dont recieve as much as you normally would get paid.
Sarah I hope they can just give Cy some excerices that will help him focus then giving meds. I am not a med person either so I know how you feel. Of course Dylan was like that when he was younger but ADD was not really spoke of that much 10 yrs ago. He still takes forever to do something due to distractions but he doesn't bounce off the walls. I think it is more he doesn't want to do school work so he doodles until the last min for us. I think DH has ADD, can you get adults tested and put them on meds??? He needs something, he drives me nuts! And does it run in the family, Lord please don't let Katie be like DH. If she is lock me up in the mental hospital.
So now katie can tell me what she wants. It is so cool how just 2 months ago she was not even crawling. And now she will point and say um when she sees something she can't get herself. She is into everything. She knows the word no and knows whne she is doing something that is a no-no. And just the other day she threw her first temper tantrum. The changes they go through is pure amazing and I am so happy that I am able to enjoy, watch and learn from her.

Ah Sarah, I'm glad you have such a good head on your shoulders! Doctors often get a certain amount of money for each drug that they prescribe, which is why I think you see sooooo many people on different ones nowadays!
There are a lot of alternative therapies out there that can really help if he does have ADD. You may not hear this from your doc, but check into music therapy and art therapy. I majored in music therapy and I worked in a school for one semester with children who had Autism and ADD/ADHD. It can really help them focus and do well if you have a registered (very important) art or music therapist!! Just an idea!

Hey Sarah, I think I only read part of the stuff about Cy, but is it that he can't focus/sit still in class? My friend's kid had that problem, turned out he was having a minor hearing problem and sitting too far back in the classroom to hear the teacher clearly, so he'd get distracted easily, fidget, and not "listen" to her. They tried to medicate him before they even knew what the problem was.
Just a thought.
Thank you all so much.

Pam - newspapers! She won't care that there is already stuff on there...
Stella - what ISN'T the girl climbing on? She climbs to the top of her toy chest, she climbs on top of the computer chair, she climbs over the back of the sofa (after climbing atop my hope chest,) climbs into and out of the tub, climbs up on the dining room chairs... so inevitably she falls off of them. Often. I guess last night under papa's care, she fell and bonked something in her mouth because she bled. Poor thing. I hope either her balance improves or she gets tired of climbing soon.
Yeah. Right.

Hey Stacy..i was thinking this to but we just had his hearing tested over the past few weeks...his teachers exact words were it takes quite awhile for him to get focused..but once he does he is fine..but by the time he is focused its time to move on..so she has to move him to a place by himself or hold him back from other activites to give him time to finsish which is making him feel bad..he is very distracted in class..when he works one on one he does much better..he needs that constant attention almost to make him stay focused..i am going to PM kate and see if she has any herbal ideas...

On the fun side, Dani found this little Mickey Mouse plush animal I got couple years ago, so she takes it to me and I sing her the M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E song... well she grabs the Mickey and makes noises just like spelling the name!! and this morning I started singing it to her when I was brushing her teeth, well she went to her room and got the Mickey!! I told DH and he said " we need to get better jobs to put her on Private school, she is way too smart and Public school will ruin her".... I played the "let's move somewhere with better schools" card again, so I hope he is considering it.... He said he would love to, and we are waiting to see if once his son is old enough, he can request the Judge to stay with us full time ( not that I want to, but if that is the price to pay to get out of here I will)... if not, I am not sure what would happen, but you can add that to the "Reasons why I dislike SK list"

Ugh Pam... tell him that the black hole in his head (where the brain should be) is too big for you and tell him to go eat dirt WITH worms!!
If a man is worth giving a try, he should love you for who you are, not how you look!! GRRR because most of the times it is the ugly men who are the demanding ones!!! does he look like Pierce Brosnan??? if not then he has NO RIGHT to complain about looks!!!
I have another one, tell him his stupidity is TOO MUCH for you to handle, and maybe he should start using his brain instead of letting it just sit down!!!
Christi, I put this on Mandie's update thread, but do you think we can send her some of those Sierra bears??? From what I've read in other posts, it makes the mommies feel good to receive a bear when they lose a baby.... I am so devastated about her twins I just want to cry!!!

LOL The funny thing is it didn't really bother me. I have got to the point where I know I need to take off 10-15 pounds but at the same time I know I am not the uglest person on the face of the Earth and by cracky I am a nice person! I am not changing for any one but myself and right now I think I am darn toot'n OK. LOL

Yay for you Pam. You are a beautiful person and if he didnt see that then to heck with him.
And i missed Mandies post, i need to go find it. I have been thinking about her and was so hoping all 3 babes would make it just fine.
Claudia sending her a bear sounds sweet.
Jenn I am glad they are letting you work 3 days.
And BTW I always hear also about how cute HE is, even when Katie is in pink and a dress.
Ok so I am supose to give Katie like 32 ozs of formula daily, well so far she has had 3 ozs, the bottle she has now she drinks a few sips then throws it, a few more sips then throws it. If she doesn't finish it (6 ozs) in 30 mins I need to throw it away. According to the 2 hr rule, I am throwing away way too formula. Any ideas on getting her to drink her bottle? Now she will drink one when I out her down to sleep but other then that and sometimes if we are eating she wiill drink a little, other than that its pulling teeth to get that formula drunk.

What an arse he is Pam! You were saved IMO....I've seen your pic, and it's his loss!!!
It especially ticks me off that he was picking on weight...
I've been up and down the scale in my time, and had trouble with perpetually gaining when I was 25 (it was a hormone issue)...I had a hard enough time with self-esteem, than to have a guy I dated tell me he was breaking up with me ("but it's not b/c you gained a few pounds, Sherry")...
Yes, go tell him to go play in traffic. Play under a green light....

I need to try spagetti for Dani, she likes pasta, I am afraid of the mess!!!
So I had the Working Mom's worst nightmare yesterday!!! I picked up Dani from daycare, and she started crying when we were leaving, she wanted to stay!!! :( my heart broke and I just started crying in the car... I told DH and he said "you know it is not that she doesn't want you, right? she wanted to stay there to play with the other girls"... yeah I know that, but it still hurts!!
A man breaking your heart is NOTHING compared to what I felt yesterday!!!!
Anyways, today is Friday and I am off Monday, so I have an extra day to spend with Dani. Dh is cleaning the garage on Sunday, I will clean the house so I have the day open to spend with Dani (I am going to look for cribs for Christi, still debating if I want a white one or natural....)
Happy friday to all my lovely friends here!!! I am off to the OBGYN!

OK do you girls remember when I was sick a week or two ago and had to go home from work early? Then the next day Morgan got really sick and I missed work and took her to the DR and he said that the fever and pain she was in was just gas? Well guess what....... I found out today that... Its our stink'n Peanut butter thats been making us sick! Seems I got one of those jars that are bad and they are recalling! Yay Sarah for paying off bills!! DH and I talked about our tax return money, and we are doing the same!! we have a whole plan to get all this stupid CC debt paid off without ruining our credit!! I wanted to put the money for savings, but paying off the debt is more important right now!!
Sorry Pam about the PB!! I have been eating PB like there is no tomorrow (and I don't like it!!) but we buy the Skippy one... I will stop my addiction as of today because I gained 6 lb and I am upset!! Dr said not to worry but I am, so I am sticking with the apples without the PB.
That mei tai is adorable!! if I wasn't waiting on one from Trisha, I would call dibs on the girly one!! LOVE IT!!!
I think I will go with the natural crib... I have this thing about white furniture, cars, clothes, etc... I am weird!!! besides Dani's room is all natural wood!!
Monday after I get my haircut (finally) I will go baby shopping, and get the homecoming outfit for Christi!!!!

Oh I know.... I just want the safety of having a savings account (mine is looking pathetic)... but I also know if we payoff CC, we can afford to save quite a chunk!!! our monthly CC payment is $1500!! (don't ask  ), so once it is paid off, we will have more than enough for savings!!

I had a dream last night that my mom was shipping my cat (died at 17 years) to this heavenly shelter in Hawaii, so I peeked in the car and got pulled in. I grabbed Stella's hand and she flew along for a moment before I could get her in the car. I asked the driver to stop because she didn't have a car seat, but they wouldn't. When we got there, it was amazing - a hotel, spa, and animal shelter in one and it was heavenly. I was on my way to my room (244) and had to get on an elevator. When I got to the bottom I realized Stella was not with me. I had gotten on the elevator without her. A man who was helping me look came up to me and said he had found her playing with an elderly couple who thought he was a kidnapper and wouldn't let him have her to bring her to me.
Then she woke up.
I hated that feeling of losing her. Even in my dream.

02-17-2007, 08:08 PM
Yay Jess, I am glad you are down a pant size. Way to go. On the bad side I think you gave me the weight you lost. I feel huge these days. Even worse when one of DS's friends called me fat. I had money on the counter and he wanted Ds to steal it so they could go to hardees. DS (my sweetie) said no I needed the money, well that little punk said "she doesnt need it she is fat enough". These kids, i could choke quite a few. If I was only under 18 I would kick a few tales around here.
Well Dh worked his last day Thursday. I was happy that he was being forced to quilt that no-end job but since he hasn't found anything else I am so stressed out. I know things will work out but we have so many bills and he thinks money grows on trees and blew 300 dollars just last night. GGGGRRRRR Not to mention I had wrote bills out on that money, which will bounce. I would have been a millioniare by now if DH would stop spending. I swaer I pay more in NSF fees, i should own a bank by now. Well I guess I will be calling daddy once again. I so need my own account and a job. If daycare wasn't so high.
Anyone want a dog. That stupid dog just peed on Katies rug. I just chased her down the hall and under the bed. I am never mean to Buffy but tonight she got an earfull. She pees in the hall for spite. Well I bought a baby gate to keep Katie in the livingroom so she will not get into the dogs "mess" and I bought a rug that is just for Katie to play on. I will not even allow anyone to walk on it. Well that darn dog was in the livingroom with me and peed right on the rug. She has never done this. I know she is jealous and I try to give Buffy lots of loving. I am so ready to give her away. My problem is she hates people. She is scared of everyone but me, DS,DH and my neighbors (which already have a dog). I would hate to take her to the pound because I love her. I keep thinking 'if' I get a house where we can have a fence and she go outside all day then maybe she would do better. Until then I am at witts end.

there is no toilet paper, so i grab some wipes and pick up the poop. and flush it....but the poop is everywhere....on her legs, her bottom, on the mat, IN the holes..gross...
so im like almost puking...so i grab the nozzle to the shower, and try to hose her off, and shes screaming....ugh...

Tracy - my cat Diva pees on my things when she is mad at me... could be your little dog is jealous of the baby, or mad at her... And by the way, it is always my clothes. Not DH's. No one else's. Just mine. And if they are all mixed up in a pile on the floor, she will pee in the worlds weirdest position to make sure that just my clothes are peed on. So anyway, I am wondering if a little loving might help the pup? Also don't forget to spray the area where she peed with vinegar water to get the smell out before you wash it.
Christi - Sorry... I know it was traumatic... but it was hilarious. One for the baby book... and I can see you tomorrow at the store buying a new tub mat.

Take the html link and you shorten it. This is an example of what you look for:

YAY Jess for fitting on smaller pants, that has to be the BEST ego booster ever!!!
Sorry Christi, but I laughed so hard after reading your bath fiasco!! poor Madi and Mommy
Tracy, sorry DH is being such an idiot about money, what is up with men and why are they so against SAVINGS???
Jenn, I do believe kids have growth sprouts when everything new happens in 2 days, YAY Stella for counting!!
I had the day off yesterday, so I spent it with Dani. We had a wonderful time shopping... got me a boppy on the consignment store ($12) and Dani loves that thing!! it is her newest toy. We had lunch at Boston market and she ate potatoes, spinach, chicken and corn bread, it was great!! then went home and spent almost 3 hrs cooking veggies for the month, so now my house smells like squash... oh yeah! she learned how to say Peek-a-boo!!! Like Jenn said, I LOVE THIS CHILD!!
It was tough coming to work this morning, Dani's daycare lady is on vacation, so she is going to another house. The lady is WONDERFUL and very caring, and she has a 2 year old, I was a mess this morning, but Dani was very gracious about it, and stayed without any problems.... My friends dd, 14, is being put up in foster care
My friend has had enough of being spit on, cursed at, lied to and tired of waiting up until 4 a.m. for her to come home on a school night.
What she doesn't know is that her dd is sexually active and drinking alcohol :( I won't tell her because I am not breaking my dd's trust and I couldn't see things changing if I did tell her mom.
The sad part is, this could have all been avoided if the kid had been given rules when she was little. Even at age 2, my friend would say 'Julie, will you do something with her? She won't listen to me'

Who on their right mind will pick carrots over cake???????????
Julie, that is terrible about your DD's friend!! I just cannot imagine the feeling of your parents giving up on you **shudders**
If you cannot count on your parents, who would you trust?????
Well, SK was with us this weekend and he told us that he hates his Mom's DH, he is a little ******* and he hits the mom!! DH is seriously thinking about going to court to change custody... I have mixed feelings, of course I don't want his son to be in danger, but I don't want him in my house 24/7!!!!!
So why do I have to pay for the mom's stupidity??????? BTW, the stepdad has NEVER touched SK or his son, just the mom... yeah that is refreshing and calming.... the funny thing is, I KNEW IT!!! I told DH I would not be surprised if that was happening, and now I have confirmation!!
SK asked us what we fight about (me and DH) and that is how the conversation began
....... so the only good thing if this happens is that we will have custody and we may be able to move out of this stupid city!!!

WOW! Claudia, I don't know what to say. I'd definately be stepping in to do something and if it means the courts, then so be it. If DH does get custody, do you think the situation with SK would be any better at your house? Would he be such a terror?
YEA Sarah!!!! I kinda know the feeling. I went of BC Pills, tired of AF coming every ten days. Now we are just using condoms, and DH "forgot" one time....so it was a pull n' pray. I haven't had AF since going of the pills, so either I'm pg or my cycle might have straightened itself out. We shall see..........

Well, my friend phoned the social services (and the police to go to her dd friend's house to pick her up. She had refused to come home because her mom took her computer away).
Social Services told her that unless dd was in trouble with the law, they wouldn't be able to place her in foster care; they did set up some counselling with both mom and daughter separately and together to sort through the mess before it becomes unreconcilable (sp?) and when the police picked up her dd, they informed my friend that they got the impression that dd didn't think that her mom was serious until they showed up at the door.
She is paying attention now though. I really hope that they can work it out. The love is there, but respect for each other needs to be improved.

02-20-2007, 01:17 PM
Julie, I hope that girl and her mom can work things out!!! the girl obviously needs attention and the mom is not getting a clue
Sarah!! I am glad you got AF... I remembered you were freaked out about the OOPS!!! BTW, how was your time as a single mom?? had tons of fun with Cy and Lulu????
If DH does get custody, do you think the situation with SK would be any better at your house? Would he be such a terror?
I know in my heart SK will be a better person if he didn't had to deal with the horrible influence of his stepdad and his loser I-don't-do-nothing mother!!! It is sad that he has to witness fights, arguments, physical fights, and deal with people teaching him that being rude, impolite and a pig is acceptable and the way to be raised. DH may not be the best parent in the whole planet (he gets lost easy on "his stuff", but at least he cares about his son, and wants to help him be a good person, and does not promote violence or being raised like a pig. A real family environment would do WONDERS for SK, and probably we could even develop a civilized relationship.... I know how he looks at me when I play with Dani, or when I kiss her after I buckle her up, and I can see a little bit of "jealousy" in his face because his mom doesn't do ANYTHING for her... oh wait! she got him a Wii.... I guess that compensates for all the crap she puts him through!!!
So I am having second thoughts about the bedding set I want for Christi... I was thinking getting her something girly, but found couple other ones more neutral that would go well with the room and with Dani's theme (Classic pooh!!).... THIS IS SO HARD!!! :hissy: with Dani I didn't had to chose because I already knew I wanted Classic Pooh... I just cannot make up my mind!!! ARGH!!! :?

newmami anyway you do the nursery will be adorable..
the weekend as a single mom was good...lucea has been sick with a yucky cold since friday so that kind of put a damper on things she was up quite a bit at night and also clingy..but it was nice to be able to give her the mama time she needed before daycare today..
DH keeps calling crap i finally got short with him..ya dont need to call twice a day man..for one i am fine..two i dont want to hear about your fun vacation, sking, weddings, hotels, golf..BLAH go away..
so lulu was back at the doc yesterday..her ears are still pink and fluid filled from christmas..yeah months now..poor girl..we are on our forth round of antibiotics and this is it..if it doesnt clear in 10 days she is heading to Cys ENT to check on tubes.. :( poor girl..but hey i woiuld much rather she get them and be ok and not have to fight years of EI like cy had to..
i painted one of my rooms this weekend..i will have to post pics..
Yeah i am pretty stoked about getting AF but sheet i feel like i am bleeding to death  i guess that is par for the course when you arent on birth control or anything..that is one thing i like about the pill..i am thinking of getting that little umm is it IUD> that goes inside you for 5 years..but it scares me to have something stay in me..am i the only one who feels that way..
stupid husbands dog got into the garbage and puked crap up on the kitchen floor.. he hurled a baggie up and god only knows what else..i wanted to leave it for DH but it was pretty nasty to leave laying there..so i am going to charge DH for watching HIS dog..sound mean to you>

Christi, I am so sorry about the bath. It was funny but I dont want to laugh too hard because i have a little monster on my hands and I am sure it will happen to me also.
Jenn, It is so cool that Stella is already starting to count. I love how much they learn and change in the first couple of years.
Claudia, maybe if SK does move in and gets attention then he will turn completely around and be a great kid and great older brother for Dani and Christi. Sorry about the bedding. I had the same problems, then after getting the one I finally picked out I was not happy and wanted something else. I am glad we kept it though because the moblie is bunnies and she loves bunnies and she still loves her moblie.
Jullie, Its sad that your friend would want to just give her kid up because she was bad. I just couldn't imagine being on either end. What about the dad, can he not step in and help? I hope getting counseling helps.
Sarah, I am glad you had a nice weekend. Yes I would make Dh pay for watching his dog, especially if I had to clean up throw up.

Sorry that Lulu is sick :( I hope she doesn't end up needing tubes in her ears.... why do bugs have to be so brutal with babies??
Well, Dani survived the first day on the temporary daycare, the lady said she was very sweet and well behaved, she played outside and had a blast with balls, and then when the older kids were eating, she sat down and played with the books.... Mami survived the day too!!!

The only thing worse than dog thorwing up is when your grooming a dog and you turn the high powered dryer on them and they get so so scared they release there anal glands! :yuck:
No shockers that Dani was so good at day care she has a good mama.
So I went to get new tires on my Aveo yesterday and.....they have to be special ordered! They cost an arm and a leg! Thank God for parents.
Morgan played out side with the other kids at day care yesterday. When I came into the play area to get her she looked and me and said nu nu and ran away from me crying. Boy that makes a mom feel good.

Pam,
She's just making friends and having fun. I sometimes have the same problem with my Morgan. I just found out last week she has a best buddy named Valerie. They are like 2 peas in a pod. It seems unreal to me that they are actually developing friendships at this point.
I was kind of bummed thinking that Morgan will be upset when they move Valerie up to the 3's. The teacher told me yesterday that they will move as a class in August when the school year starts. It's exciting to think they might get to stay together through school as well.

I took C to Toddler Time at the library yesterday...It sort of ended up as a "baby swap"...C decided she would go sit in my friend's lap--meanwhile, her little boy took off back between the bookcases. He found the back corner where a little table is set up, and carboard blocks are on a shelf. he wouldn't let me take him back to the area where the class was being held (well, I would pick him up, and he'd kick and scream b/c he wanted to play with the blocks, SO--I spent story time in the corner with him)....

Awww Pam!! I know the feeling of having kid crying when picking her up!! Dh told me it is because they are having so much fun they don't want to leave, it has NOTHING to do with being with Mommy.... heartbreaking I know!! it made the Men breaking your heart felt like NOTHING!!!
Look at the bright side, Morgan is happy at the daycare!!!
Have you ever felt invisible??? I swear to God, I could come to my office, turn the light and computer on and disappear, and NO ONE would notice (unless they need help with their stupid computers  , because apparently I am the expert (scary thought)). Makes me feel soo good and appreciated at work, I could just puke
So I was thinking, maybe I should bring my scrapbook things and do that while in the office.... no one will notice or even care, right?
I am sooo overdue for another job!!!

I am very happy that she enjoys her day care so much! Most the time she comes running but yesterday she was having way to much fun kicking the ball around.
Claudia I am not a good person to ask! I watch abc.com and eat pop corn at my desk! I bring in photo books to work on all the time. Right now I am planning my SIL's baby shower.
BTW that reminds me UPDATE my brothers bab that was born on Dec. 28th weighing in at 1lb 2 oz is now up to 2lbs 1 oz! They have tested her heart and looked at it and all looks fine. She won't have to have surgery. She is having her eyes tested today and if that goes well they are going to fly her back to our local hospital!!! I wish you all could see her!!! She is so tiny!!! I mean she really does fit in the palm of my brothers hand!!! Its so sweet! I wish I could share a picture but for now my brother and SIL are a little worried about posting pictures of her and I understand that.

LOL Sarah!! if you are not Catholic, you don't have to know, ok????
Pam, how awesome that your niece is doing so well!!! no doubt some babies are fighters!!!
With the situation at work, at least I know I am not the only one who gets a salary for doing almost NOTHING!! there are couple of us here in the same situation.... I should take the time to update my resume, right????
Where is everybody??? are they actually working today??????????????
So I got all fueled up in this argument at work. This lady said she couldn't believe her son's friend didn't knew how to give grace at dinner, and accused his parents for being Bad... well in my family we never said grace before dinner, and DH and I don't do it either.... so I told them that didn't made you a bad parent, that is just a choice and not everybody is brought up with a specific religion.... GRRRR to ignorant people!!!
I am Catholic and I have my beliefs, same DH.... we do not go to Church because we don't agree with the way they handle certain things, but that doesn't mean we are bad parents!! we try to be good with people and do well.... I guess my conception of religion is too messed up for other people's standards... and I guess I am going to hell because I didn't got married on the Church, I married a divorced men, and my DD is not baptized!!!!

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent. The ash in your forehead is to remind you that you were made from ashes, and when you die you will become ashes again... Lovely I know!! Technically you leave it there for the day, and can wash it up at night
I know.... we Catholics are weird!!

I dont say grace before dinner either. Heck if we even eat as a family it is a good night. Normally either Dh or DS has to go somewhere so it is just Katie and I which she eats first then I try to find myself something.

Well, I spoke too soon about Dani being ok in the temporary daycare, today she cried when I left, and yesterday she had a bad day as well... my heart is broken and I cried all the way to work :( The lady who is babysitting is so nice, and the other 3 girls she takes care of adore Dani, play with her and make sure she is ok, but Dani is having a hard time getting used to the new place... SUCKS!!!
If I wasn't 2 months from taking maternity leave, I would have taken the time off and stayed with her, or if I had more time, I would have called my mom and have her come stay with Dani

i was in jacksonville NC once..when i was young and crazy i was visiting a guy i was dateing inthe military..
soooooooo get this... i rented a carpet shampoer this weekend and cleaned the carpets ... WELL my dear lovely wonderful son gets a bloody nose this morning .. i am in the bathroom getting ready for work and i hear him scream and freak out..he runs head down caughing and spitting from the couch to the bathroom..there was blood on the couch, carpet, his breakfast, lucea, bath room rug, ..AH HUH all over i bout lost it on the kid..why couldnt he have just walked to the bathroom with his head tilted..would have been much easier and less stressful than freaking out like he had just cut his hand off. :x
so that was my morning..lucea was clingy i couldnt barely get ready .. i look like crap..DH was sleeping trying to catch up on sleep after his vacation..yeah does that make sense .. i wanted to dump a cold glass of water on him..GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

I know what you mean! It was nice here this morning, but I had to get ready and go to my weigh in... and now there are 50+ mph winds... not so conducive to taking a baby for a walk. I'm disappointed. Just makes me want summer more. I feel like I'll be more inclined to work out if it's nice outside!

Jess come on over. Of course our warm weather is going away and it will be winter again soon.
I had a great time today and I posted some pics.
Candice i loved your dress and the Church and boat are so pretty. I can't wait to see pics. Are you stressed out? I wanted a nice big wedding and I would say over 100 is big.
Well I am missing Greys and Katie is fussy so I need to answer all the rest later.
