Thinking about your Aunt, Jess.
I am so ready to go home!! the office is pretty much empty, and I got my morning Grrr with the morons at the branch!! they are so rude it is unbelievable!! and we work for the same company!!!
I made a simple email about the coworker's Dad.... most people seem not to care... I am not surprised, she is tough to deal with (I am being nice here!!). Now I have to wait for the funeral arrangements so I can send flowers.... lovely day huh??
I wish I had a BK close to work, if I want to eat fast food, it would take me about 20 min just to get somewhere... the beauties of working Downtown where everybody eats at the same time!!
We are having our Christmas pictures done this weekend, woo hoo!!! I need to get Dani some thights... it is going to be COLD!!!

I should have Morgans Christmas pictures back a week from tomorrow. Boy I hate waiting!
All this BK talk has my craving french fries and a Hershey sundae pie! There are NO fast food restaurants around here (which is probably a good thing! LOL). I have to drive 30+ minutes South to go to BK or McDonalds and 40+ minutes North for a Subway or Taco Bell.

OK girls it slipped to page 2!!!
I need you all to talk me down from doing some thing stupid!! I have 4 weeks of vacation saved up and well.........with my luck I need to save it incase a safe falls on my head and I have to be out for a month in the hospital. LOL I so bad want to tell my boss I am taking 2 weeks off before or after Christmas. I just feel like I need a break. I know I need to save the 4 weeks for the next bad thing to come along because bad things seem to fallow me this year but its hard not to take the time off when you know you have it.

12-07-2006, 08:29 AM
Pam, I would say take the time. You need a little vacation right now. Let's hope and pray next year will be better for you.
Katie had her 6 month check up yesterday. No shots since she is sick. The dr said she had drainage and he didn't ant to add to her feeling bad. She is 17#s and 12 ozs and 26 1/2 inches. She has been 17#s for a month now. Do you hit a growth spurt around 6 months?
Ok my child just threw up and is squealing in delight. :? She is one happy baby. I did luck up. We only cry when she is tired or hungry or I am not in sight.
I'd say take a week for yourself.
haydensmom
12-07-2006, 08:59 AM
Pam, I would take some vacation time - even just a week! You deserve it!
I'm glad to hear that Katie's appt went well even though she's sick. I hope she gets better soon! I do believe there is a six-mo growth spurt, but what do I know
I got my BK yesterday! Yummy!
Also, dh got his plasma... He's so happy and he totally deserves it... to me it's just another bill, but it's worth it!
YellowRose
12-07-2006, 09:05 AM
Pam, I think you should take some time off too, even if it's just a week. If you take a week off, you'd still have 3 weeks left. Go for it! You definetly deserve it!
newmami
12-07-2006, 09:43 AM
Take the time off Pam!!! spend some time with your family and with Morgan, and take care of yourself
You will see, now that you are planning on saving vacations, NOTHING will happen next year!!! so you will end up taking days off here and there, just for the fun of it
OK, that was my Christmas wish for you, a WONDERFUL 2007!!!
No BK yet, DH wasn't in the mood for it... but we had steak n shake, and Dani LOVED the meat patties!!! I swear that child will eat ANYTHING!!
It is getting cold here in FL, the cold front is hitting us, woo hoo!!

I hope Katie gets to feeling better soon.
I may ask today if I can take some extra time off. Even if its just a few days. My secraray is taking 3 weeks off starting the 22 of Dec. So maybe I could take the week of the 18th off just for the fun of it.
Morgan will try any thing and there is very little she wont eat. I did find out last night she doesn't like spicey hot dogs. LOL She likes plane ol jane ol hot dogs but not the big $ spicey ones.

I am not a picky eater, but DH is, so I want Dani to try everything!!
LOL Aly, Dani tried Dh's son Mac& Cheese (kraft) and frowned, but we went to this southern restaurant with REAL M&C and she ate it happily!!
Dani LOVES hot dogs too!! and corn dogs!
Christi, don't give up yet!! it takes them a while to develop taste for food.

Do we have the same child!! Morgan will not eat spaghettio's and she sucks the cheese off the mack and cheese and spits out the mack!! Some times she will refuse to eat some thing and then the next day she will eat it up like there is no tomorrow!

LOL Pam, Caleb wouldn't even suck the cheese off. Just spit it out and made a face like "mom, WHAT are you trying to feed me?!!" It was funny!
 Poor little guy just fell and hit his face on the floor, now he's stuck to me like a stick-tight. He wont let me put him down for anything! I don't even know what he did, was crawling towards me and just fell flat on his face.

ok i was thinking last night as i lay in bed and talked to DH..waht if he never gets feeling below the waist..does that mean so hanky panky..i mean will he stil be able to function? it didnt hit me untill last night or i would have probubly asked the doc about it..OK That should be the last of my worries but i am srue its on his mind as well..we joked about it last night but man he has to be worried in a way? ya think? hmmm..

Sarah, try not to torture yourself with those things. I know with Therapy things can get working and fine (my Dad's face was paralyzed and the therapy put him back to normal)
As for sex, I know the girl who has MS does enjoy it... as much as you can when all you do it missionary with the lights off!! but you get my point!!
Will be praying and holding my breath until Jan 3, and hope you can get some positive answers!!

12-07-2006, 12:04 PM
I will be praying for you and your DH!! Its not a silly thought at all. Sex is one of those great gifts a husband and wife share and even though its not the only thing they share it is a great part and would be a great loss. I pray that this is not the case with you all and he gets better before you even have to see the DR in Jan!

i will have to talk more with DH tongiht and see whats going thorugh his mind...sex was naturally the farthest thing from our minds when we head the results but it is a big deal..its not like we are 90 and sleep in separate twin beds...
so ok i need to get back in the christmas spirit...it kind of went down the crapper this last week...i need to go out this weekend and get DS some heelies..those buggers are like 60-70$ for a pair of shoes with wheels..my i wish i had invented them..he also saw a commercial on tv for a rocket fishing reel..i guess it shoots out of the end of this rocked out into the water  hmmm kid these days..what happened to color books and crayons.

Sarah, check the Sports Authority store, they sell those heelies for cheap! DH's son also wants some... that just smells like disaster to me!!
So I realized I was getting too ambitious about all I wanted to do for this Christmas, so I decided not to make the ornaments and ordered them from Personalizationmall... I feel better about it!. Now I just have to finish some frames I started (THANKS HOLLYJO FOR THE TIPS) and I would be done!!
Reading all this babies sick, in NICU, DH's sick and all that is making me sad.... I wish NO ONE had to endure all this things, specially during the holidays!!!

Mac N Cheese - Stella LOOOOOVES the Aunt Annie's Organic M&C! She also loves whatever they make their M&C with at The Outback.
I want a pair of those wheelie thingies! I think they look like so much fun.
Ok I am almost done with Stella's invitations! I wish some of you lived closer so that you could come too! That and her invitations are so darned cute!
Sarah - What I have heard is that a) men can often become aroused even without sensation in the actual area - it can become a conditioned reflex and b) once a person loses sensation in one area, it is often compensated for in another... I knew a woman who had lost sensation below her belly button and so her shoulders became very sensistive and well, a new erogenous zone for her. There is hope!!!

Katie loves looking at the other babies also. I can keep her busy for about 20 mins just playing my screen saver which is pics of her and family.
Sarah, I really am so sorry you are dealing with all this at all, much less during the holidays. *hugs*
Christi, the thought of you being freaked out by those heelie things totally cracked me up. I could just see this suprised  look on your face with 4 or 5 kids on them things coming down the street.
We got Marissa a kareoke machine that she will LOVE. And she wanted the 7-11 slurpee maker, so she got one of those. Im getting excited now that I have bought some stuff.
Oh yea, and we got Pey this leap frog table thingy. Got it home, and seen it was recalled. I was fuming. I called leap frog and got told it was the old model. They corrected the problem. Man, I felt like an arse.
Jenn, I would LOVE to go to Stellas party. :( Can we see her invites?
I dont think theres any particular baby that Pey likes the most. But she hits the keys when she sees the siggys. :D Marissa STILL loves sitting with me and looking at POTW.

I just had a girl ask me for 50 cents and when I told her I didn't have it, she asked how I got the soda I was drinking (brought it from home) and what I was going to do about lunch. I am just hoping to get enough outside orders at this point to be able to make $150 (um, Mom? Aunt Bonnie?) If not, oh well. Next time!
So I give myself 1 week to put together all the Christmas cards. Not only am I sending off 150 of them, but being the Emily Post that I am, I must hand write all addresses and personally sign each one.
I am LOVING the APA cards I have been getting! Stella sees them and gets so happy! Your babies are just so cute!
Hey - did I mention that our commute car got stolen? And my DH in all his wisdom for some totally random reason had Stella's handmade baby quilt made by my aunt (who had rheumatoid arthritis, so every stitch probably hurt) in the car. When I think about whomever stole it just throwing that quilt away, or using it as a rag or something I cry.
Whatever about the car. I want the quilt back!

Pam, Morgan is a doll. i love your pics.
I have recieved several APA cards. Twania, Ali, Claudia, and Christi. I am trying to address mine now. Mine will be the one you get after Christmas because I am so lazy. LOL!!! I ordered 50 cards of the whle family and 50 of Katie. You all are getting katie. No need to scare Santa with my mug hanging around.
Jen, that is awlful about losing your quilt. Maybe the car will turn up with the quilt in tack. We can hope right? I would order from you if it is still open. I love papmered chef, even though I don't cook. I know all about those stupid parties. I had a Premier Deigns jewelry party and had 3 people show up. My mom, pastors wife and pastors daughter. i also need 150.00 to get free stuff and I am sure I wil lack. I left the party open and am going to hassle my mom into buying something. LOL!!! If not oh well I did a good deed by throwing it.

So sorry you lost your quilt Jen! And the car of course... but that really stinks!
Had a little scare... when I was pg, I could not STAND the scent of coffee - not anything resembling coffee... made me nauseated like WHOA! It was like this until I was about 7 months along and then it went away.
Three mornings ago, I came into the kitchen - coffee pot on - and I felt nauseated like that... I also had the dryer on, so it may have been a combo of the smells. I have a SUPER sensitive nose, so many things like that can set it off, but it was exactly like when I was pg.
I don't know how I could be. Dh and I have only done the deed twice and we haven't finished (Sorry tmi) because it hurt me so bad. The first time, though, we didnt' use a condom (on the mini-pill) but we stopped almost right after we started...
I've smelled the coffee every morning since then and it hasn't been as bad, but it's still there a little.
We also changed coffee types, so I'm really hoping that is it. I don't see how I possibly could be... unless of course a few little ones jumped the gun? :? I feel normal otherwise...
Just scared me! I'm tempted to take a test just to be sure. But I really don't think there's any way...
Do you?

I hope they find your car and her blanky is still in it!

DH and I agreed we wouldnt buy each other gifts this year, but I figure since I got the fleece for his from my mom Im not technically BUYING anything. I have to have something for him to open under the tree. :D

How was your weekend? we had our family Christmas pictures taken, it was FUN!!! and Dani did awesome (it helps when Mom is making a fool out of herself to make her smile  )
Then we went to Disney and had pictures with Santa... Dani was NOT happy about it!!!. We ate at one of the hotels, and Dani eat same I did! chicken, green beans, carrots, spagetti squash!! it is amazing how she will not reject food!! on the other side DH's son is so picky he almost freaked when he saw the broccoli in his plate!!

I can't believe how fast Christmas is coming!
We agreed not to get each other presents this year too. We had talked about giving each other "a day" on our trip to Europe (plan the activities, etc.) but since we are postponing it most likely until next Christmas so that we can buy a house, we just decided to save our money. DH would really like a better TV and I love to shop, so we'll both actually be happier if we just save our money for those things.
So my mom has an Elmo TMX at her house and was so excited to show it to Stella yesterday... it scared the crapola out of her! She did not like it at all. I was secretly pleased because boy, I can't stand Elmo!

Thanks ladies for all your well wishes about the car!
Pam - after Stella was scared by Elmo, she was newly afraid of all other stuffies that I made "talk" but this morning she seemed ok when her giant turtle "talked" to her.
The Elmo TMX is very loud and the movements are pretty sudden.
Oh man, so sad. I sent an invitation for Stella's birthday to my sister, and my nephew opened it up and said "I think they sent this to the wrong address, I don't know these people!" Sheesh!

My mom bought Caleb a teady bear that plays music when he was maybe 3 months old and for the longest time it scared him so bad he'd cry! Any time the music played he'd wrap his arms around me as tight as he could and cry. But now, he loves it! I don't know why it scared him so much.. it's not loud or anything.
Jenn, I'm so sorry to hear about your car and the blanket! I really hope they are able to find it with the blanket!
Dh bought Caleb his birthday present Saturday! It's the coolest thing! It's one of those riding toys... but instead of a car it's an airplane (Dh likes planes), it sings and talks. It's got Tigger on it. It's so cute! And the great thing about it is that is was only $22!!! I can't believe it's time to start planning for his birthday already!!!! This year has gone by WAY to fast!!!!

Yay for birthday presents!! and I agree, I cannot believe all our babies are turning 1!!
We went to Toys R Us and DH went a little crazy buying stuff for Dani... he also got her some Legos on Saturday... he he he!! Daddy's little girl, totally!!
So today is one of my coworker's birthday... how pathetic it is that she pretty much begged her Account Manager (she is the assistant) to get her a birthday present??? come on!! that is something you do for someone, not something you request, right ??? I mean I don't even demand a present from DH!!!
Anyways, he was like whatever and got her flowers, and she was all excited like it was a big surprise.... some people are just too needy and weird!!
The only good thing is that we had chocolate & cheesecake cake... OH SOOOO GOOD!!!!

Sooo... tonight at work someone came in with their son... and he was wearing the same pink fleece hat and mittens that I bought for Stella. He was cool - father didn't get mad when I assumed he was a she... but you know, we sell a blue and grey one that is exactly the same and I am curious why they chose the pink one for a boy?
Not that I think there's anything wrong with it at all. Its just... different.

"Real men wear pink???" maybe the dad was trying to make a statement, or he really doesn't care about the pink=girls!!!
Sorry your little ones were terror yesterday... Dani has days like those, where she refuses to sleep and it is obvious she is exhausted!!
Can someone please send me some motivation to work?????
So I was looking at bedding for the new baby, and decided I will change Dani's bedding too, so both of them match (they will be on the same room)... is that a little too corny or what??????? I saw couple of sets at BRU that are lilac and white, and I LOVE THEM!!!

It's cool when you're old enough to make decisions for yourself and decide to wear pink (if you're a guy)... but that's just weird on a baby. That kid is gonna look back someday and say, "What the H*LL were you thinking?"

Caleb just wanted to be held last night, so I'd rock him until he was dosing off and as soon as I walked back into his room (the rocking chair is in the spare room) he'd wake back up. Finally, I just had to let him CIO because we were both soo tired. It didn't last long, maybe 5 minutes of crying and than another 10 of whining, but he eventually feel back to sleep.

OK I need to vent and fess up about some thing really DUMB I did.
OK so H comes over to visit DD last night and we had to be at my Grandma's b-day party so I knew they wouldn't have long but said yes any ways. Mistake number 1! So H lays around on the sofa the whole time he doesn't play with DD he just flips through the TV looking for some thing to watch. So its getting about time to go and I put DD in her high chair for her sanck before her bath. I gave her some pairs out of the fridge. She hates her fruit cold and wouldn't eat it but I was in a rush and forgot to sit it out so that it would be room temp. by the time snack time rolled around. Well H says "She doesn't like pairs why do you keep trying to feed her things she doesn't like?" Ugh!! She loves pairs she just didn't want them so freaking cold! I don't say any thing I just get her out of her chair and take her for her bath. H goes back to the sofa to lay down and watch more tube. I have DD in her bath and the phone rings ( here is where I start piling on the mistakes) 1st I forgot to bring the cordless phone with me into the bath room 2nd I should have just let it ring and let the answering machine get it but nooooo. I yell for Grant to come sit by the tub for a sec. while I grab the phone mistake number 3. In the sec. it took me to get the phone and walk back into the bath room he had let her slip and go under the water head and all sucking in a lot of water. She was hacking and crying. I wasn't even gone a full minute. I pushed him aside and got her out of the tub. Soap still in her hair. I didn't want him touching her. Come on how hard is it to sit by a tub and watch a 10 month old take a bath. She has never slipped like that before and that got my mind to wondering what really went on in that room as soon as I turned away! I have heard stories about people who try to kill there children because they don't want the other spouce to have them. I feel bad for what I did it was stupid of me but its hard to get into the habit of not trusting him with any thing.

The good thing is that nothing happened and that Morgan is fine. Now, if his visits consist on him laying on the couch watching TV and avoiding contact with Morgan, maybe he should just drop them and leave you girls alone!! I know you want Morgan to have contact with him, but if he is not interested, why bother???

My problem at work is that I took the place of another girl who was supposed to be the assistant to the FL manager, (I am the assistant to the Central FL Mngr), but her boss quit and he would not be replaced... so of course she is holding for dear life to her old position (my current one) and pretending that she is my boss's assistant, and the worst thing is that my boss lacks the balls to tell her stop it, now Claudia is my assistant
But hey! at least I have a job, right????
I also think the idea of having 2 kids on daycare is killing me... I wish I could work from home, but DH's insurance is crappy, so we are sticking with mine at least until next year, and in the meantime, I will see if I can find a nice stay at home job

Speaking of carseats, I have a question. We're going to my grandparents for Christmas, they live about 5 hrs away, Caleb will be 2 weeks from turning a year old when we leave. Do you think it'd be okay if we turned his carseat around for our trip? It'd be so much easier if it was facing forward, I'd be able to reach back and give him paci, toys, or whatever. Of course I don't want to do it if it's not safe....I'm not really sure whether it is or not, so I wanted to ask you girls!

I was a little too hesitant to turn the carseat even though Dani was already on the weight limit for Forward facing... but I don't think couple of weeks make a big difference, it would be more fun for Caleb to see the road, and we know Dante is a careful driver!!!
YAY Pam that the insurance company is helping with the seat!! I called mine and apparently I gave them a good laugh with my question :?

I am sure he is Aly, I wasn't implying anything else... sorry if it came out the wrong way!!
The main reason to keep babies rear facing has to do with neck development, in case of a crash, their necks are not strong enough to resist the impact from the front.... so if Daddy is a good and careful driver, you know the chances of getting into a crash are less, therefore it would be safe to put the seat face forwarding... that is what I was trying to say!!

Pam, that stinks about SDC being closed. If we had a little extra cash, I'd come down there a meet you while you are there. I'm just in Kansas City! Was that your car insurance or health? I so want to hit up my insurance, see if they have anything like that! We have one convertable seat, but could use another for my DH's pick-up...especially if I have to go back to work :(
Aly, that is a hard spot. I would probably turn him around, but, like you mentioned, I'd feel horrible if something happened.

Well, thing is... the longer they face backwards the safer they are... I know I have been been DYING to turn Stella around, and have from time to time been very tempted, but I guess what keeps me from doing it before her 1st birthday is that if I did get in an accident and she was hurt I could never forgive myself. BUT only you, his mama, knows what is right, and no one could judge you for turning it around 2 weeks early. Except if you got pulled over - the cop might judge you to the tune of a big fat ticket!
I cannot wait to turn her around! I am hoping all our car woes will melt away.
And by the way - my little turkey who hates the car did rather well on a long trip - we just left at nap time so she fell asleep and would sleep for very long legs of the trip.
Have a great time!

I got my whole living room and dining done today. Vacummed, dusted, carpet cleaned, all decorations up. It looks so nice sitting here now by the pretty, glowing tree. :D
I was supposed to wrap some presents today while Marissa was gone, but all that took up all of my dad.
Oh yea, then I went and picked up Peyton from MILs and had to stop at Meijer on the way home for formula and diapers. 10pm mind you. She spit up (ALOT) all over her snowsuit, me and the floor. I was so embarassed. I decided no time to look around, just grab and go.

So I thought I bought all these gifts for Stella for her birthday and Christmas, but we just separated which gift was going to be for what, and she is only getting four small things for Christmas and 3 for her birthday.
Does this sound like too little?
Unfortunately none of these comes in a box that she can play with for the next 4 weeks.
:)
I think that sounds like a perfect amount!! :D I got Peyton 3 things for Christmas. I figure this year while shes still young, Id spend the most on Marissa. Since she comprehends whats going on, and next year will have to come up with a number to match their gifts on.

I know that the longer they face backwards, the better. That's why I'm a bit hessitant to turn him around! I'm not worried about him being fussy or anything, he LOVES going on car rides, and usually goes to sleep. It's just that, his carseat is behind my seat, it wont fit behind Dh's, and it's such a hassle for me to try to give him his paci that way. If we turn it around, he'd be able to go behind Dh, making it easier for me to give him his paci. I just don't know. I haven't decided what we're going to do yet.
Do you guys wanna know what I have to do tomorrow? I have to clean the dreaded toy room. I am soooooo not looking forward to that. Marissa has to get her toys ready to take to the donation center (we do this every Christmas) and then we have to clean clean clean. Its a disaster right now. We're having the New Years Eve Party this year, so it has to be spotless so the kids can dirty it back up again. And Ill be gone the day after Christmas until the day before New Years eve.

Jes, was you on the Christmas list? If you were then mine should be on its way. I was late (as usual) in mailing mine.
Well i went over board on Katies Christmas. I was only going to buy 3 or 4 things but I think I have about 6. Not to mention what everyone else bought her. I just keep seeing things that I think she will ike and compared to Dylans list hers is soo cheap. (Dylan wants a pool table, PC, skateboard, etc.)
Aly, Several people in my church was turning the ca seat about amonth before the 1st bday. As long as the weight limit was met. I turned Katie once. It was such a nice ride but I was so scared since she is no where near her 1st bday.

Speaking of cleaning, I need to clean my house before we leave, so we can come home to a clean house, and do laundry... and come to work... ARGH!!!
On a fun note, Dani is officially walking, she has been giving couple steps before falling, but last Saturday she decided to show off at my work's party, and she was moving all over the place!! it was awesome!!
My parents are going to DIE when they see her walking!!
Christmas presents for the babies... Dani got a set of legos, a little piano, and a phone that teaches numbers and colors (Fisher Price)... my IL sent her barbies and something else... HELLO SHE IS ONE!!!

Ok, so I am having kind of a bad phone day... I think I am just not going near it anymore today...
First call of the day:
Ok this requires back story. I have a side of my family that is... well... hmmm... Ok, I hope I don't hurt anyone's feelings here... imagine if you will the welfare poster family? The stereotype of white trash? And mix in there a gaggle of child molesters, a splash of drug addicts, and some alcoholics and there you have it. This is my sperm dad's family. Anyway, I invited my dad to Stella's 1st birthday party, and he called back to say he was working (he is hte most industrious of them all) but can Aunt Bootsie come. Um. Sure. Then this morning I get a call from an aunt (who's name I can't even remember right now) and they are visiting from Texas or something, and she wants to know "can yer uncle Wally and me come to Stella's birthday party?"
Oh. My. Goodness.
Sure. Of course. So now, when all I wanted was to include my sperm dad in this day, I am now having 4 people that I really really don't want there at all. And there are some people like my brother who aren't coming! I should have just taken her to Canada for the day...
Call #2:
Since DH has become a permanent employee of his company and we learned that his insurance won't kick in for 90 days, we applied for insurance through BRU. We finally got all the paperwork faxed to their insurance company on Friday. I called this morning just to make sure they got the fax and she tells me "I won't know if we got the fax for 7-10 business day." WHAT? So I explain that my concern is that I am going to wait for 7-10 business days, call back, only to have them tell me that they didn't get the fax and start the whole process over again... in the meantime, my daughter is uncovered. And that is a situation that makes me very uncomfortable. Grrrr..
Not to mention the fact that I really need to go to the Dr. because I suspect I may have PPD.
Oh my gosh. This was so long! Sorry ladies!!!!

12-18-2006, 12:01 PM
Oh my goodness! Both of those situations totally suck! I'm sorry you have to deal with icky people for the bday party and I'm waaaaaaaaay sorry about the insurance deal! That's a load of bull!
I'd call back and ask to speak to a manager. Waiting 7-10 days to find out if they even received your fax is absolutely ridiculous! I wish I could do something to make it better!

Ugh Jenn for unwanted visitors!!!
And sorry about the insurance thing... 7-10 days with a fax??? do you work for the mexican government or something??? I don't understand why people are so oblivious to the urgency of medical insurance... GRRR I hope it gets resolved soon!!
Do you or DH have Employee Assistance Program? you can call and they may be able to help you with the PPD... I called mine and they paid for a psychologist for a while!! That usually kicks in immediately and it is free!!
Hope things get better!!! they HAVE to, it is Christmas!!

Cuddle. Caleb was such a cuddly baby..... he LOVED to be cuddled all the time, he'd sleep on my chest or in my arms. I loved it... and now, he rarely ever wants to cuddle. Forget about him sleeping on me. Although, occasionally he'll want to be rocked a little bit before going to bed. Like last night, I gave him his bottle and a snack and laid him down... normally he'd put himself to sleep, but he wanted mommy to rock him for a few minutes! It was so sweet! I love rocking and cuddling with my baby!

We got kicked out of story-time today! I didn't know it was "16 months and above"....Anyways, the lady was coming around and passing out flyers, and she was telling my friend Sue (who was next to me) that we needed an apple (a pass), so Sue went to go get them at the front desk while I minded Ciara and her little boy, Nathan, who's about a week older than Ciara...Meanwhile, the lady says to me, "How old is she? It's 16 months and older". I sort of hesitated and said, "She's almost that age"--it's not really a lie, is it? What's 2 months? The lady gives me the evil eye, and says, "She looks young", and I replied, "She's really little for her age"(100 % true). The witch then says, "Well, how old is he?", and I say, "He's about the same age". Sue comes back with our passes, and we're busted b/c she didn't know I was fudging the truth in her absence, and the lady asked her how old Nathan was. Sue answered, and the witch says, "They really need to be 16 months". Of course I was bent, b/c it shouldn't have been a big deal. I said to Sue, "I guess I'm going to have to bring her birth certificate for proof of her age when she IS 16 months". And I really don't see the big deal with the 2 month age difference. So, then, sarcastically, I had to say that maybe they should segregate girls and boys b/c girls develop verbal skills sooner, and boy develop motor skills sooner. :?
OK, vent over.
Sherry, that really sucks! I cant believe actually getting kicked out of story time. Who cares if there is a little bit of an age difference. As long as your taking care of your kid and he/she's enjoying youd think they would be happy! I would have been POd.

I guess it's just a case of a librarian on a power trip  Sue says she's been to others, and they let her sit in on it. Well, I guess it's a case of if you make one exception you have to make an exception for everyone.

What if a child isn't the right age number-wise, but has developed mentally slower or faster than normal and the story time is appropriate for them?

I would have been too upset to go and complain... I don't see what difference it makes when kid behaves well...... GRRRRR
Today is my last day at work... woo hoo!! then off for 10 days!!!
Oh, as I am getting fed up with my current "job"... if that is what I have... I am opening new doors inside the bank, I offered myself for a position that probably will be available next year, and I LOVE the idea (Financial analysis). I spoke with the person who will be the manager, and he is happy I am interested... we worked together on a progect, so he knows how I work!!!
YEAH!!!!!!

Evandal - I guess you could kind of think of it that way - the big difference between this post and any post over in General is that no one here is going to flame anyone else, cause trouble, or be generally stinky.
Oh Claudia - I hope you get it!!! I almost asked if he knew you were pg, but then remembered HOW pg you are... :)
Storytime - that is SO lame. Honestly. If your baby is being good, I don't see any reason to reject them. Or to be so rude to you. A reminder would have been ok, like "this storytime is intended for 16 months and above, but if you babies are as good as they look, they are more than welcome. We just ask that you..." A librarian of ALL people should have been happy to see little ones there!!!
Christmas is coming! Yahoo!!!

I find December to be the fastest month of the year... and January always seems soooooo long...
So the more and more I think about my relationship with DH, the more and more I resent his mother for being such a horrible woman. I mean, my mother had her share of mistakes, but the more and more I learn the more I realize this woman had no right to be so selfish. So not only was DH an only child, but apparently she never talked to him. And I totally believe him too. Becuase I have tried talking to this woman and she is impossible to talk to.
It is going to take all control in my body to not go off on her next time I see her.

Aww Jenn, I am so sorry your DH had such a horrible relationship with his mom... I don't get it either, why on earth do you have kids if you don't want to be a mother???
Thank God DH had a wonderful relationship with his mom, but his ex is the worst egg donor ever!! so bad I refuse to put her on the mother category!!
No big plans for New Years, we don't do much anyways... we are flying back from Mexico on the 31, so maybe something quick for dinner, and a quiet evening at home!!

YES!!!! I'm SO excited about Christmas and seeing Caleb opening all his presents!!! I'm also excited about spending Christmas with family this year..... and I don't have to cook!!! wooo hooo!!!
No new year's eve plans for us. We'll probably buy a bottle of sparkling grape juice and some munchies and sit up and watch movies. Than we're having some friends over for a BBQ on new years day... hopefully it doesn't snow! But, Dh has already said he'll grill even if it's snowing!

I can't wait for this weekend. We're going home either tomorrow night or Saturday morning. My dad has a big day of baking planned (which was a tradition when I lived at home)... I can't wait!
No New Year's plans for us. We'll probably just watch some tv/movies, drink some wine and relax.
So, do you remember me talking about my mom giving me her massage? Well she decided to... I get to have a hot stone massage at 4:30. I'm so excited. I've never had a hot stone before. Should be pretty nice! :)
I think each of you should have dh give you nice long massages after the kids are in bed! Can I just make that a mandatory plan for the evening?

I am a total and complete massage whore. No ifs ands or buts. A perfect stranger comes up and starts massaging me? Cool. As long as its good! :)
Ok, so I exaggerate... but really. Sometimes when Stella is feeling violent, I'll just sit with my back to her and let her beat on me. Ahhhh... shiatsu!
My DH is a reeeeally good massager. And he does it for a really long time too - mostly because I ask him while we are watching tv or something so he forgets he's doing it. About 4 years ago he told me my massages were "pinchy" so I have used that as my get-out-of-massaging-free card since then.
Girls. I loooooove me a massage! I'll take it anywhere, anytime...

Oooo, massages.....if only my DH would do that. I just had to ask when pregnant, now...HA!
I have been sending out my resume for different jobs lately. I really DON'T want to go back to work, but finances are starting to force it. I don't want to put Manda in day care, so thought about either nights or weekends (DH works Sun-Tuesday and every other Wednesday). I have had no return calls or anything until yesterday. Lady emailed me, asking a number that I could be reached on in the late afternoon. I told her the number and that I'd be available anytime after 2. She emailed me back, saying it would be closer to 4. I had my parents watch DD and I sat around the house until a quarter to 6. NO CALL. UGH! I'm starting to take this as a sign. I know many businesses are looking at my resume and thinking I'm over qualified (I have a college degree, but the jobs I'm applying for generally don't require it), but geeezzzz.

Happy holidays to my favorite mommies!
Tomorrow will be the first Christmas I have gotten to spend with my family in over 3 years. I am pretty excited. Oh yeah, and cause my mom is making buffalo wings (she does an open house with appetizers.)
What are you ladies up to?
We're just hanging out today. My mom asked if we had anywhere to go and I said "well, we weren't invited anywhere and she started crying. It was so sad!! This is our first Christmas apart and I think she's really feeling it. My mom and I are really close, I miss her a lot.

I'm lazy...still lounging in my PJ's. The havoc will begin soon enough.
My mom's making Prime Rib....now there's a new twist on Christmas dinner.
As if any 'massage' given by a significant other ever qualifies as a massage (in my experience, anyways). The massage end of it lasts 5 minutes, top out (and most of that's below the waist)....

I feel so bad... my grandmother is about 82 years old, and everytime she comes near Stella, Stella cries. She doesn't make loud noises or anything obnoxious, but Stella cries anyway. I can see how much my grandmother wants to hold her and I feel so bad!
Well, apparently Stella is not allergic to chocolate... yeah... I come into the living room on Christmas eve, she is surrounded by adults and walking around munching on a chocolate covered marshmallow santa. Yeah. Good thing I fed the kid only organic foods for her first 3 months of solids.
Oh well. Sometimes they get the bad stuff.

Oh Sarah - its not like Cy is growing up in a household when it happens all the time. I think that kids need to see that even people in good relationships sometimes have heated arguments. As long as he understands that you've worked it out, in the long run it could be beneficial.
I grew up in a household where my parents never fought in front of us - my mom just always acquiesced or left. So I felt ill-prepared for dealing with conflict in my relationship.
I got sick too! What is with this holiday season and folks getting sick!
I hope Stella doesn't get it! 5 days until her Luau!

Sarah I hope you feel better. And you are one of the most worthy moms I know. Fighting in front of the kids is not something i like to do either but sometimes it happens.
I hope everyone had a great and safe Christmas!
Boy did Katie and Dylan rack up. I need a new house just for all the gifts. LOL!!! I also got a laptop (which I wanted when I was preggy and too sick to leave my room) and a beautiful necklace with the kids birthsones and names on it. I will take a pic and post later. Bought DH a WII game system and satillite radio. Did anyone else get baby first Christmas clothes for Christmas? Katie got a dress and 2 sleepers on Christmas day. :? uummm she can't wear them now. It seems like a waste of money.

I just came across something weird. My cousin is a missionary in Turky and the first Christmas away from us. So they sent us pics of the kids opening gifts, etc. Well I had to download them to see them well and I wanted to save them, so i download the first pic and it had an arrow to go to the next pic so I did and guess whos picture it was. It was a baby from here. So I kept going through the pics and I saw at least 10 pics from this site, some pics i never seen before (a naked man saying merry christmas) and then finally i got the other pics from my cousin. That is so strange. I have never saved a pic from here or even downloaded a pic from here. So why was I able to pull them from my email?
