DH and i are going away on our anniversary trip next weekend. (the 27th is our two year anniversary) and we are going to the mountains. last year we stayed at the most precious little B&B, but sadly they wont take kiddos under 6. and we are taking madi cause im still nursing her, so we are staying at the comfort inn :( its sad, but id rather be taking her....

i know it sucks. we had SUCH a good time last year, so we are going back, and my mom offered to keep madi for the weekend, but i think it will tie me to my breast pump ALL weekend, and im scared that it will hurt my supply. so we are taking her.

next year (hopefully ill be preggo with #2) we will be back at the B&B!

sarahlynn
11-16-2006, 01:39 PM
oh a B&B sounds so wonderful..i have checked into them as well and the no kid rule is bogus :( if they new Cy they would change the rules to only kids under 6 :D

tell me if this sounds stupid..me and DH now split bills right down the middle..you know his money is his mine is mine..mainly because he is super bad with money and i got tired of his spending..

SOOOOOOOOOOO the other day our verizon phones came up for renewal..you know where you can go in and get a new FREE phone..he goes in and does not get the free phone he spends around $150 on a new phone, blue tooth thingy, cover, etc...so i refuse to pay that part of the bill and he hasnt given me extra to cover it so verizon calls today and says..we WILL shut off yoru phone if you dont pay.. i say to DH well the part that hasnt been paid is the extra of yours so you need to give me that money if you want it paid? so if they shut the phoen off i will need to go get a new verizon account in my name or i wont have a phone..

so should i just pay the frickin thing and be done with it and wait for eons till he pays me off or should i stick to my guns and teach him a hard lesson..

MarchMommy

Stella has been driving me cuh-raaaazzzyyyyy today and so I checked and sure enough... little molar on the back right hand side.

Poor thing. Wish she would sleep, but she just keeps waking up. Tylenol didn't seem to help, and when she chews on something she doesn't quite know how to get it back there. Unless its mama's finger. Ouchie.

Man, I hope the other three are right on the heels of the first one - I don't want her to hurt for too long. Plus she is not eating solids very well for the past couple of days.

Man, yesterday she and Caiden were in a race I think for slobberyist shirt!

I had to take Morgan to the DR this week just to have her checked out and make sure she is OK. With all the drama going on in my life right now I just wanted to cover my tracks and make sure. Anyways when they put her on the scales I was in shock  in the past month she has lost almost 1 1/2 lbs! She wont eat baby food for me any more. Is this a stage do you think she is OK?

Bean
11-17-2006, 08:05 AM
Hmm, that's weird. I'm not sure. Sometimes the Lola Bean doesn't show any interest in food, but it only lasts a day or so. I hope you figure that out. That picture in your signature sure is cute, though!!

11-17-2006, 08:19 AM
Do you think she could be getting more ready for "bigger" food... more adult food? I don't know if she has enough teeth, etc... but it's a thought. I'm hoping it's just a stage, for your sake!

without
11-17-2006, 08:35 AM
She has 6 teeth. 4 on top 2 on bottom. She will eat what ever I am eating but still doesn't eat much. She just wont eat for me. My mom said I should try giving her more formula but that didn't work. She doesn't want it. I just don't know what to do. She is little any way she doesn't need to lose any more weight. 10 months on Saturday and her weight is right at 15 lbs.

BBKCD
11-17-2006, 08:52 AM
I hope Morgan's OK...it could just be that she lost the weight b/c she's more active...It seems they have less interest in food when they become more mobile. Maybe just offer her food more frequently? Sometimes C doesn't have any interest in eating. She also didn't gain any weight to speak of between 9 and 12 months, but the doc seemed to think it was normal.

MM-have a great time....Asheville is beautiful! I'm green!

newmami
11-17-2006, 08:57 AM
Pam, I am sorry Morgan doesn't want to eat, I just went through that and it was hell... but Pedi said it is normal when they reach 1 year.
What about new foods? Dani doesn't want mushy food anymore, so I am giving her finger foods.... and when she is fussy, she will eat the stage 2 foods... apparently the 3rd stage are horrible!! try giving her some overcooked chicken, or turkey or ham... Dani was crazy about those

Have the daycare provider feed her... Dani will fuss with me, but she eats almost anything the daycare lady gives her!!

Christi, have fun this weekend, hope the weather is nice!!

Molars??? Dani is cutting her 3rd teeth!! lucky enough we haven't had any problems with fever or similar....Hope Stella feels better soon, and I second the toothbrush idea!!

sarahlynn
11-17-2006, 10:17 AM
aww i am sure she will get gaining again soon..

cy has always been a slow gainer and his doc always asks me "DOES HE RUN NONSTOP" he just keep running off whatever he eats

i would also try new foods..lucea had a blast shareing my spaghetti with me last night

keep us posted..

Stella's weight gain has really slowed down - which at first scared me, but then I realized that growth starts to slow a little bit around the 1st year, and she's become SO much more mobile, and I believe she inherited my husband's side of the family's tall and lithe body type.

I wouldn't worry too much. Keep trying grown-up finger foods (Stella was totally off baby food by this age) and she'll eat what she wants. Spagetti is a great one, cheese toast, fruits, Stella loves beans.. maybe morgan too!

:)

MarchMommy
11-17-2006, 01:39 PM
stella was totally off baby food by 9 months? when do you take them off baby food? im working with madi to feed herself small chunks of things, but when do you stop baby food?

newmami
11-17-2006, 01:44 PM
We started with table foods around 9 months, basically letting her try what I was eating (if it was OK with her). Now Dani doesn't want any more mushy food, and she really enjoys feeding herself.... so the answer will be when baby is ready!!

So I asked the Pedi about the flu shot, and he told me he didn't recommended it... WOO HOO!!!!

Dani was never cuddly, but now she is getting more into the cuddling stage. Actually at nights, after I put her in bed, she cries a little bit, so I pick her up, rock her a little bit and talk to her, and then she is Ok to go night night.... I LOVE IT!!!

madi is super cuddly with me....not DH. she LOVES to play with her, and she will crawl to me and cuddle with me, and she loves to cuddle with mommy in the mornings!!!

thanks for the baby food info...right now shes getting used to the more chunkier foods...hopefully we will transition soon. until then, i LOVE makin her food!

Jai
11-17-2006, 01:49 PM
Yea, Pey was never very cuddly either. She liked being around me, but not so much holding. She would start squirming. Now though, shes so sweet. I think because when she was sick she liked being held. And now that she knows when she wants to be held she can come to me herself, instead of me making the first step.

Jai
11-17-2006, 01:52 PM
Yup, Pey likes being cuddly in bed in the mornings too. ACTUALLY, dont no one be mad please, but I think Ive spoiled her. (I know I know you cant spoil a baby) But, lately she wakes up around 3 JUST to come in my room. Shes not even hungry. And after she wakes, so does Marissa. So in the mornings I have me and both them in my bed. While I love the cuddling, I miss my bed! I wake up with the worst backache since I cant move around.

I'm lucky that Hayden is such a cuddly baby... he holds onto me when I hold him... like a little mini-hug - I LOVE IT!

I posted this in a separate topic, but Hayden SAT UP on his OWN today! On the floor - for like, 1-2 minutes... then he got upset because he was hungry but I was so excited. He was a little hunched forward, but still! And then he was sitting on the boppy after a feeding and I let him go (with my hands around him, just not touching) and he sat up straight all on his own... I'm so excited!!!

We had to put locks on the toilets. Why? Because I was doing chores and heard "splish splash" and walked in and she was splashing around in the toilet bowl.

we learned how to wash our hands with antibacterial soap that day.

Sooo...yesterday was my birthday... my husband is so thoughtful.... but do you ever feel like they have such strong fantasies about what they would want that they think that you would like it too?

One of the things was a brunch at the Space Needle - so a $100 meal. I like to joke that today I will have $50 pooh. :D I would SOOOO have rathered to have spent $30 total at Buca di Beppo, but he was thinking I woul dlove it so it is still a nice gift.

OH and he thought I would like to spend 8 hours away from Stella! AKA - Stella spend 8 hours away from my boobies... when I am already SO concerned about my supply issue. I sound so ungrateful, but you know, it was his birthday fantasy...

Anyway, it was a fun day.

THANKSGIVING! I never ever looked forward to t-giving until I was pg with Stella. Now this year I am so excited for her first thanksgiving. Plus my mom is cooking so I don't have to! My sister is here visiting... it is just going to be so nice to be with family instead of being home cramming for finals for whatever.

I understand what you mean about them making themselves believe that WE want what in all reality they do. I got to say though, hes better than mine. My MOM had to come over on my birthday to make sure I had a cake. :D

Happy Belated birthday Jenn!!!
Sorry DH's ideas were not too close to what you like. They have the best intentions, but no clue... DH thinks I want to spend my birthday having sex... hello?? What about leaving me alone for the day??????

We don't expect any company this weekend, so basically we make food for DH and me... Dani doesn't eat that much yet, and SK doesn't eat that kind of food (read home made).... so we always have TONS of leftovers!!! we have a 7 lb turkey breast just for us!!

I hope they kick me out of work early, I have some shopping to do (it is getting cold, so Dani needs warm PJ, a hat and some gloves), and I have crafts to do at home.... it is so slow today, I am finishing some wood gift tags I made!! and I AM AT WORK!!!

Question Not Thanksgiving related!

Do they not make clothes in the 9-12 months size?? I can't find any! Morgans now were near ready for that size yet but I thought I had better start looking because she only has a few things in that size.

newmami
11-21-2006, 10:28 AM
Pam, get the ones that are 12 months. Dani started using those around 9 months!!
Carters have the cutest things! and if you have Kohls close, they also have a good selection, usually with awesome prices

I am not that ambitious, I wish I was out shopping for Danielle, and Christmas presents!! I was getting brave and wanted to go shopping on Friday (hoping for good sales), but DH is working and his son will be at home, so I will have to stay or drag SK shopping... not the best idea!!

I did some exploring in Stella's mouth this morning and she is cutting 2 molars! Poor little one!

I went through that too! I waslooking everywhere for 9-12 month clothes but couldn't find them. I guess after 9 months they jjust go by one month.

But I was thinking last night, as I was trying to fall back asleep with 2 cats trapping my legs, stella kicking me in the face and DH snoring, how weird is it that after 12 months, clothes start jumping by 6 months at a time - 12, 18, 24 months...

Pam - how is everything going? Are you doing ok?

newmami
11-21-2006, 02:45 PM
About clothes... why do they have 24 months and 2T??? aren't 24 months 2 years????????

So today I am in one of those horrible, leave me alone I am a b*tch mood, and this lady sent me an email letting me know I am the Fire ward for the floor... yeah thank you for asking!! so I got upset, and she said basically I don't have a choice.... so I said I would suck it up... she came back to my office and asked me if I was ok, so I said no but I would do it. don't have a choice, right???....... well, I am the WORST when it comes to emergencies!! I freak out and I am the first one to get out of the building, I don't care about other people, the only thing in my mind is GET OUT AND BE SAFE!! (specially now PG), how on earth does she expect me to be calm, parade through the office to make sure all this morons are moving their butts and leaving the office??? I DON'T THINK SO!!!.... so I got out of it!!
Hey, was it that hard to ask why I didn't wanted to be the Ward???
GRRRRRRRRR!!!!

So yeah, today at work I get to really use all my education, my experience, and my talents.. I get to fetch carts from the rainy parking lot, vaccuum, and dust... all this streeeeetched over a 4 hour shift. Yuck.

I figure, I'll be at TRU, but everyone else will be fighting over the crap I have no interest in, so my lego section, or the baby section will all be empty of crazies.

So... don't you hate it when...

I went to my mom's for thanksgiving so all I had was a baggie of turkey. I was just enjoying my final turkey sandwich... the very last pieces of turkey until next year... and I am about 1/2 way done and look at my bread a little closer and yep... MOLD. Dang it all!

Pam - it will work out. Gym membership contracts do seem to be iron clad. What about moving? I don't know if you own a house or are renting but most memberships have a clause that if you move a certain distance away from the gym you can break your contract.

How is Morgan doing?

newmami
11-27-2006, 02:20 PM
Pam, I am sure you can call your debitors and work something out. Tell them you are getting a divorce and cannot afford the bills, they should work out a plan with you... they rather get paid than losing all the money

As for the gym, I hope you can figure something out... try talking to them and tell them about the divorce... hope they are reasonable!

Yay Stella for trying to catch the snowflakes... where are the pictures??

so we went to Epcot on Friday and the US pavillion had an awesome set with Santa & Mrs. Clause.... so we decided to take a picture of Dani (Thank God SK said he was not interested). Dani was all smilies and they were delighted with her... you will see them on your mailbox!!!

The gym thing is going to be killer on me. I am buying my house so I can't move. They told me if I could prove I had moved they would let me out of it. Claudia, yay for another girl. I want another baby. katie is just so much fun right now.

Today as i was grocery shopping she kept pulling my shirt, she was pulling me toward her so she could kiss me. I probably looked like a fool walking around the store like that but I don't care. It was the sweetest thing.

Glad Stella got to see snow. Did you get pics?

Pam, I needed to get out of my memebership so I told them i was moving in with my mom and they wanted to see a bill with her address so I called my credit card company and changed my address to hers and then showed them and I got out of it. I know it is not truthful but it worked. You are in my prayers.

Katie stayed all night at my step mother-in-laws on Thursday. It was her first night away from me. I woke up all night thinking i heard her crying. My mom is so mad, she wanted to be the first to keep her but she lives over an hour away.

I need to go roll coins. I've been waiting for C to go down so I can do it unassisted. I was going through the house, and I have change everywhere; some already rolled that I found in a box. So far it's $52.50...It's like found money--yay!

I bought my wedding dress with coins my grandparents saved for me. They got a big water jug and put all the pennies, nickles and dimes in it everyday and gave it to me when I got engaged. It took a 5 or 6 hours to roll them all but it added up to over $700!

Every year I say that I'll have my Christmas shopping done before November.... it's practically December now and I've barely started. I've bought my mom's gift, part of my sister's, two things for Caleb and one thing for Dh. I have NO shopping done. Well, no... I did buy a thing of Holiday mints yesterday at the grocery store for dh's stocking  So yea, I'm real close to being done *note sarcasm please*...

I'm not buying Hayden a whole lot because the grandparents will take care of that.. plus, he won't really remember it! I think giving him something is more for us than for him. It's an excuse to shop, for me!!

And that makes it a lot longer and it's too long for your siggy! HTH!

UGH i hope its just the stress and craziness of the holidays but lately me and DH have been at each others throats about everything..i wish he would move out

our kitchen is so freekin cold.. the idiots that did the addition on our house didnt put heater vents in the kitchen so its REALLY cold in there..so i hung a blanket up in the door way so i could keep the cold air out of the living room where the babes play all the time..well he tells me the pipes might freeze (is it possible it could get that cold in the kitchen?) and that i need to keep the blanket down..so i say whatever the pipes arent goign to freeze but works for you hon..ok kind of sarcastic like and he hangs up on me :?

then his friend gets back from Iraq in september (i love his friend) and he wants to live with us for awhile .. FINE with me..probubly will be more help than DH is..but all of a sudden DH tells me his friend wants to get a dog when he gets back.. UMM i said not in my home..we haev one dog already adn not enough room for another..esepcially not a new strange dog around the kids..2 dogs turding in my yard is to much..so he got all pissy at me..i told him his families feelings and needs have to come before his friends wants..DUH!

UGH happy holidays honey..all i want for chrismas is my DH to get an apartment.

Sorry your going through this. Some times the holidays do make it hard! As far as the kitchen goes I would tell him if he doesn't want the pipes to freeze then he had better pick up a space heater on his way home because your not letting you children freeze!

Dh and I decided that since money is tight and space is tight that we would just get a small 3 foot tree to put on one of the end tables. That way we still have a tree, but it is, for the most part, out of Stella's grasp.

Something fantastic has happened! For a week now I have been able to put Stella in her crib for a nap. This is a brand new thing in our household and I hope it sticks!

I was ready to beat Dh with a club last night though... Stella's whole life she has wanted to take a nap at about 7:30 pm. We have thought in the past that maybe she was ready to go down, and have tried to do so and every time (no exceptions here!) she wakes up at about 8:30, recharged and ready to go until about 11:00 or so. So for some reason he thought that last night would be somehow different. So he puts her down at 7:45. I get home at about 8:45 and she wakes up... as of 11:30 I was still swaying her trying to get her back to sleep. Grrrrr.... dumb papas.

sarahlynn
11-29-2006, 03:30 PM
YAY for nappin in the crib..

lucea is similar...she wasnt to go to bed so bad around 7:00-7:30 some nights..but i know that it wont be pretty if she does..so our big thing is BATH TIME! when that time rolls around she is gettin tired i run her a bath an that keeps her up till at least 8:oo and than by the tiem i get her to bed its clost to 8:30 or 9:00 :)

Dh is going to show me how to light the pilot when he gets home just in case this ever happens again, I don't have to be without hot water all day!

Yay for Stella napping in the crib!!!! Caleb hasn't been in the napping mood today. I'm not sure what's up. He usually takes two naps, one at 9:00am and the other at 2:00pm, but he refused to take a nap at either times today. He did take about an hour nap after lunch though. I wonder if its about time to drop the morning nap?

We are under a WINTER STORM WATCH!!! The first one of the season. Dh heard that we are supposed to get 10 inches of snow!!! We're getting the same storm that dumped all that snow on Washington. It's supposed to move in tomorrow morning. Ick! I'm soo not ready for this kind of weather yet!!!!

haydensmom
11-29-2006, 04:24 PM
I want snow!! :hissy: Seriously, send some of it this way!!!

Hayden is finally semi-falling asleep on his own for naps today. Ever since we've been back from our trip, he's needed rocked to sleep and he had been putting himself to sleep for about 3 weeks prior. Well today I rocked him until he was drowsy and then laid him down.

But I swear the kid is conditioned... He has been gassy today and fussy. For his midday nap, he was fussing, so I got out the gas drops and gave him some - rolled onto his side and went to sleep... Same thing happened for his 4:30 nap! As soon as he got that in his mouth, it was like he knew it would help him and off to dreamland he went. Silly boy!

We're going to get our Christmas tree on Saturday and I'm super excited!

Jumping in here.

I substituted for a 2nd grade teacher today....YIKES!!! I have a whole lot of respect for Joni now! I generally do High school...only have to deal with them for 50 minutes and move on. I think my limit is 4th grade now. my whole body aches.

I put up the big artificial tree. If we didn't have that thing, we would not have bought one, money is too tight to splurge. Every one is getting pics of DD for presents (JC Penney special), I'll spend a little to frame them though.

The weather is CRAPPY! Can out of school to a car frozen shut, under a sheet of ice!

I would love to be a teacher. I have signed up to substitute but every time they call I am busy or can't find a babysitter.

Glad Stella slept in her crib. I laid Katie down with her bottle while I folded clothes the other day and she fell asleep. She put her burp cloth over her face and went to sleep. It was so cute and the first time I have not had to rock her. So i tried again and for naps it works ok but tonight i wasn't happening.

My baby boy is at Dusney world. His dad takes him every year and they left Sunday. Boy do i miss him. He called and is having a great time but I hope Sunday hurrys up so I can see him. Claudia I may have to get you to go get him and ship him home for me. LOL!!!

Dylan is gone and my mom is keeping Katie friday night. Dh is getting off work at 2 so we are all excited. We are talking about dinner, maybe the James Bond movie and some baby dancing. I put up a table-top tree yesterday....well, it's 4 feet, and honestly, it just looks sort of Charlie-Brownish, like the bottom of my regular tree is missing. Now I need to get some unbreakable ornaments....and since the tree's on top of a table, I dug out a brass container that used to hold firewood figuring I could use that to pile presents in.

*anyone know how you clean brass?*

Ciara hasn't been taking an afternoon nap anymore, and is impossible from 6 o'clock on. She's falling asleep between 7:30 and 8...got back up last night at 10 for about 45 minutes....I really think she just had a bad dream, or something. Probably dreamt she was being attacked by the Christmas tree, b/c she's really unsure about it.

And booo to DH for being so bad about bed routines :?

This morning I dropped Dani at daycare, and she was watching TV... I left her standing there on her own... well 2 other kids arrived (they are 3 & 2, siblings), and they went to her to say hi, and were holding her hand, helping her stand... it was sooo adorable!!! :)

So someone asked me to make a wish list for Stella's birthday - but I feel a little weird about it.

How do you guys handle it when people ask you what to get your little ones for christmas or birthday? I just feel weird about the whole thing...

Also last night I was at work and because of the ice and snow it was sooooo slow. So I picked up Baby Wise out of curiosity to look at what someone else had posted about and read some of the most ridiculous things! One chapter insisted that yes, worn babies cry less but it is because we suppress our babies cries by carrying them... HUH? And then another chapter said that babies only really need breastmilk for the first 12 weeks, then the nutritional value begins to become less important. And that after solids are introduced breastmilk becomes almost unneccessary. And that after 6 months, breastfeeding is only done for the mother's benefit and the baby really doesn't need it anymore, AND finally he says that it is inexplicable why the AAP recommends it for the whole first year.

What a crock of bull. I wish there was a way to keep every well meaning mother from reading that pile of pooh.

My tree is up...yeah!!!

Sarah, how di Cy's safari night go? I hope he had fun.

I am going to start Katie in Jan for the baby gym. I talked to a trainer from there at the baby fest in Nov and it sounds great. The new class starts in Jan here. Not sure about the cost.

How cute that Dani is already coloring. Hugs to you, they do grow so fast.

A friend of mine made a wish list for her sons bday. It was cool and different at the same time. At ;least I knew what he liked and also knew I wouldn't get a gift someone else got him. I asked my DH and DS to make one for me from Walmart so it would be esy to tell family but this year they don't want anything from there. LOL!!

I think my baby is sick. She has a runny nose and is cranky. Last night she just cried. I thought it was her teeth so i gave her some ice cream in her new mesh feeder and she liked it for a few seconds then cried again. She was also so clumsy she fell over twice so that didn't help things. The bad thing is I have so much going on today. I hate to take her out in this weather much less with her sick also.

Stella LOVES stairs. When my niece was here I would help occupy Stella for long periods of time just sending the two of them to the stairs at my parent's house.

I am so excited about the tree!

I am also getting excited about Stella's frist birthday party! We have the clubhouse, pool, and hot tub reserved, and just so happens that today pork shoulder is on sale - the Luau is on!

Any of you ladies want to come?

:)

Sure, I'll come :D

We don't have stairs...I'm glad we don't. C is just now learning how to get off the sofa, but sometimes just doesn't think--yesterday she walked right off it  I don't think I'd survive stairs! Time for a gate, Christi...

I'll be there in a heartbeat! I would love to go swimming! I'm so jealous!

Time for baby gates! I'm not really looking forward to babyproofing! :? I know that Hayden will be into everything and anything he can... I can tell already that he just wants to explore all he can... I'm sure I'll have no problem losing this baby weight once he's mobile!

Glad we don't have stairs in the immediate house. The basement stairs are in the garage. I feel for those that do have them!

Whats wrong with me!!! I am going to put myself in bubble wrap! Before this year I had never been in the hopital never broke a bone (except for a toe LOL) and alway been very heathy!!

I had a fall (makes me sound 60!) in the kitchen last week! My elbow is dislocated and my arm has 2 hair line fractures! Girls I am sick of this and need a break from being in turmoil (sp?) all the time.

OK vent over! I have to think on the bright side it could have been a lot worse!

I am sorry Pam!!!
I guess you just have TONS of things in your mind, and then you have that squeeky clean floor, so you were bound to fall!!
I hope you get better soon!!

So I have been updating on APA all morning... that is 2.5 hrs at work!! I brought my Christmas cards so I can label the envelopes.... somehow I didn't received the memo that I should be working... HA HA HA!!

We took DH to the airport this morning, and Dani was not a happy camper! she saw DH leaving, and had her head turned to the doors, until she couldn't see him again! she is such Daddy's little girl it is not funny!!

Oh!!! and I think my Dad almost cried when he heard we are having another girl!! Mind you, he has 3 daughters, and 1 grandaughter... and he is HAPPY to have yet another one!!!

Weekend was OK, a little too warm (mid 80??? ) but we got our Christmas tree (Dani had a BLAST), and yesterday we had a calm day at home... which I really needed!!

Vent away....
First off, I'm very sorry that happened to you. Big ((HUGS)). And I can commiserate on lousy luck.
I've had a pretty lousy year health-wise. The last time I was in the ER, the admitting nurse (a male, but that probably isn't all that relevant) LAUGHED, and quickly apologized by saying, 'I'm sorry, but you just seem too young to have all these problems'. What could I say? When it rains, it pours. I mean, I purposely try not to dwell on anything negative, b/c I'm getting superstitious at this point-- I have this new idea that any time spent on thinking about anything that isn't positive is going to spark something else negative. So, I'll purposely turn my thinking to something else when my thoughts run to this health issue or that health issue, and I'll be danged if something else doesn't find me. Just call me Sparky!
So, that raises the idea of Karma, which is in any religion when you get down too it...whether you're reaping what you sow, or it's ying and yang, etc., etc. And I've made a mental list, and I know I've never done anything that terrible, and I'm not inherently evil...So, WHAT'S UP?

Maybe I'm the incarnate of Hitler?

None of you are the devil incarnate! So sorry about the bad luck, though! That totally stinks!

The only bad luck I seem to have lately is with Christmas trees! This year and last year after we put our tree up, we find bugs all over the angel and on the ceiling. Last year it was spiders (EEEEP!) and this year these little flying bugs, a spider, and a few ants  I'm a total wuss so I'm looking at the tree every time I'm in the room like, What's going to be killed next??

Honestly, I love Christmas trees and all, but I'd have been fine without one this year.. or just a small one. But not dh... oh well... at least Hayden can't get into it yet!

So dh wants to buy a 42" plasma tv... I feel bad because he has been wanting one for a while and he works hard so I can stay home, but I just feel like it's a bad idea.

We have waaaay too much credit card debt (under 10, but ugh!!), student loans, and our car loans... He said he can finance it through Best Buy for "just" $50.00 a month, but I feel like that's just another $1600 to add to the debt...

Plus we live in an apartment and we're trying to pay stuff off so we can get a house.

Should I stick to my guns and say I don't think we should? Or should I indulge him?

Dh went through that couple months ago... he is such a tech junky it gets dangerous!!! but he really wanted his new toy, so I said fine. He sold the old TV and couple other things to pay for it.

It is one of those things that I don't understand the need for the latest TV, but I suck it up because it is important for DH, and something he wants!

DIVADLX
12-04-2006, 11:42 AM
Well... I can totally relate. My Dh is a total techie - I mean, its his job (he's a network administrator) and yet, we have a 13 inch TV that my dad had in his garage for the last 15 years. It drives him crazy because when we were in Hawaii, we had a 32 inch flat screen, and a Sony digital surround sound...etc. But when we moved we sold it all.

Now our goal is to buy a house and get out of this apartment next summer. He would really love a new TV - even just a 20"! But I keep reminding him that wouldn't he rather save it to get the 42" LCD HD TV to put in our new house in a few months, instead of having to watch on the 20" for a lot longer? That seems to be keeping him happy for now.

Only you know what is best, but in our situation I don't have to say no, I just have to remind him to keep his eyes on the prize (a house) and he sees reason.

Happily we think credit cards are the work of Satan (or Michael incarnate? ;) ) so doing a Best Buy credit thing is totally out of the question. Buying our house is way more important.

On another note... I think we all have bad years. I remember a few of mine for sure! But I do believe there is great power in positive thinking so Michael I think you are in the right track! But I am sorry that you both have been going through all that you have. I wish I could make it better!

Christmas trees - We got one and it is so cute! It is about 3 feet tall so we put it on a little table in our living room. Its this little round fat tree - and so far so good with keeping Stella from destroying it.

RE: Baby Fever

I think we have to wait until JUNE! :(

We were seriously considering this cycle or next, but with DH switching jobs, we'll be switching insurance for the 90 waiting period, and not having stable insurance is a good enough reason to wait.

Then we were looking at Feb again, but then she would be born in Oct/Nov, but we have decided to postpone our trip to Europe until December so that we can buy a house in the summer. And I am not comfortable taking a 1 month old on a trip like that. So we are looking at June - I'll only be 6 months pregnant on the trip, and March is a great month to have a baby!

I agree!!! I'm a March baby!!!! Sorry that you have to wait longer though. I know how you feel. I'm getting sooo impatient, I want another baby so badly! But... we still have a while yet, before we start TTC again. At least 2 more years. Feels like an eternity!

if it werent for having ot finance it i would say yes...like if you had the extra money in savings...but financing is just another bill and with trying to buy a house thats not a good idea..

when we went to buy our house the mortgage guy said DO NOT charge anything that can totaly effect you getting this home or not..and we dont have a lot of CC debt maybe 7,000 total after the wedding and baby...my goal for the new years is to pay off everything and start new in another year..may be easier said than done with my DH who loves to spend.

I just colored my hair...feel like I fried my head. I used Nutrisse...I don't even know what color it is yet...."cinnamon stick" is the name of the color on the box, but my hair's naturally really dark, so it should be a reddish brown. At any rate, the name sounded really inviting and Christmas-y, not that I'd advise anyone to pick a haircolor based on that  Just who are they addressing when they say, "rinse until water runs clear?" Color still runs out of my hair through several washes whenever I color it. I feel sorry for the person who takes that very literally...they must spend the night under the tap. Anyways, I was getting tired of plucking gray hair out.

March sounds like a terrific time of the year to have a baby. Happy baby dancing when you get around to it Jenn!

**Micheal incarnate** huh? Makes sense....I had horrible credit card debt!

YAY Jai for taking a day off!! you deserve it girl!!!

Sherry, my hair does the same after dying... color runs even after 2-3 days!!!

MARCH is a WONDERFUL month for babies!! (I am also a March baby!!).
Jenn I hear you, there are tons of things you have to take into consideration when it comes to baby, including insurance. We were planning on me finding a job that I could do from home, but DH's insurance is not the best, so I am here until baby is born (so insurance will pay the >$30k hospital bill) and at least until the end of the year, when we can pick insurance again.

So my boss is out today and I am on an official strike... I am fooling around on APA, and getting my Christmas cards ready to be sent out. Today I am leaving early to go to the post office

I was putting the ligths on the Christmas tree yesterday and forgot to check them before... so I turn them on and there is a whole section not working... GRR!!! so here I go trying a bulb on each of the off ones... I found it after 20 lights!!! Yes, I learned my lesson!!

Poor Dani misses Daddy so bad, she couldn't go sleep yesterday because she couldn't find him :(.... I had to rock her to sleep for about 20 minutes!!

DH is out until tomorrow, and I need dinner... I have NO motivation to cook, I made myself a super sandwich yesterday!! I am craving fast food badly, but don't want to cave in.... please tell me Burger king is not that bad from time to time!!!

Madi climbing stairs already? Man where does the time go?

I also love to wrap and the bows are the best part. i use to work in the wrapping department of Dillards. Last Christmas I was too sick to do the bows but this year I am going to try to go all out. Lets see how Katie does. LOL!!

I have bought most of my familys presents and we have Katie finished now we need to finish Dylan and DH. We spent 600.00 on family alone. :x I was hoping to get out cheaper this year. I am thinking about getting DS a pool table. I want your opioins though. So we live in a 2 bedroom condo, nothing great. Dylan has been wanting a pool table for the last 3 years but I tell him we have no room. So he asked again this year and I have been thinking. We don;t eat on our kitchen table which is at least 6 foot. We eat at the bar/island. The only time we use the table s when DH has the guys over for card night. So we can put the table at my moms for storage and put the pool table (which is 6 feet) there. My in-laws think I am nuts. But Katie will get whatever she wants in life. Heck MIL wants to help us buy a house just so she can have a pink room. So if it was Katie asking for the table she would get it. I just don;t want Dylan thinking we (I) am and will do more for Kati. Yes we do have more money now then back when he was. So what would you do?

newmami
12-06-2006, 07:32 AM
Tough one Tracey.... I am probably not the best to respond because I am too practical about things... but if he has been a good boy and you think he deserves the pool table, I say go get it!

So, it was too late yesterday and Dani was cranky, so I went home and made dinner :(. But I spent the afternoon buying crafts for my house (I LOVE THEM!!) and playing with Dani!!!

Maybe I will get BK today..........

One of our coworker's dad died, and I have to send an email to communicate it... what do I say??? I AM LOST HERE!!!

I'm getting a BK crispy chicken sandwich today for lunch - I'm going in to town to meet dh and that's what I just have to have! All you ladies have me thinking about BK!

So my uncle, who is 57 and his dgf is 37 (I think) are having a baby - and her water broke this morning. She wasn't due until Dec 24... she's a little early, so I hope all goes well. She is considered full-term, but she could still have complications since she is high risk. I hope all goes well! It's so weird that my uncle will have a child YOUNGER than Hayden! First one too! Say a prayer please!

Mmmmmm... BK is all I can think about. I better go!
