Ready4duck,
I got very very sad on day 3 of clomid the 1st month I took it, but last month, I was ok. Hang in there- the side effects seem to subside.

Chelsea, I know it is hard to say, but which IUI do you think did the trick? My RE says you ovulate 36 hrs after the shot. Is that what yours told you? My last cycle, I triggered on Thurs at 8:00 am and did the IUI on Saturday at 830 a.m. But it didnt work :( CONGRATS by the way!!!!!

Ok, so I'm starting injectables today. After 3 months on clomid, my lining was on the thin side for my first IUI, so we pushed forward moving to injectables pretty fast. I had b/w yesterday and I got my Rx calendar. I felt fine doing the trigger shot last month, but I am a little nervous about mixing injections. I found a video online so I'll have it ready when I start in case I need any reminders. I seem to be doing a lot of the same meds as the folks in IVF- Follistim, Menopur & Ganirelix w/Crinone gel after the IUI. I think I take a lower dosage so as not to create as many follicles. I'm excited to be moving forward and the odds definitely go up w/ injectables but I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high.

Good luck to all of you, I hope things are progressing well!

What are injectibles? Is it like Clomid, but a shot? And if so, whats the pros and cons of each? Thanks!

My understanding is that the injectable meds are stronger, i.e they create more follicles. The pro is that your odds go up with more follicles, the con is that the risk of multiples also increases considerably. Injectables also require more monitoring which can be a logistical issue. Good Luck!

I've been stalking you all- I'm doing my first month of injectables IUI. Seem to be doing the same meds as a lot of IVF ladies (Follistim, menopur, ganirelix), so i've been reading in here lately. Thanks for providing so much info. Good luck to everyone who has cycles in process or coming! For those of you who have had bad news, I'm so sorry. I hope everything works out. There's lots of people here thinking about you.

This was my first IUI cycle and I had my trigger shot on Wednesday at 7 pm and IUI on Friday at 9 am. I think it is also based on how big your follicles are. Veterans around here, is that right?

I've only had one IUI, but in my case we did it 36 hours after the trigger. I have heard of dr's who wait longer, but I'm not sure how the decision is made.

My hubby and I have been TTC for almost 10 yrs.I started Clomid last month day 2-6 50mg and start my second dose anytime now. We are having AIH done around my 12th or 13th day after we find some good follicles on my u/s starting day 11. Anyone else been through this? Finn-

There really is no reason to do the OPK testing. I get the trigger, Novarel, and the Dr told me today that I should ovulate about 36 hrs after the trigger. You should not ovulate until AFTER the shot. He told me that BDing before the shot is perfectly fine, but it wont do any good if trying to get a baby. :) The shot is what releases the eggs, so until you get it, they arent ready. When you have the ultrasound the day you go back in you will see the eggs on your ovaries.

Question: So, I am obviously doing ultrasound and then trigger shot (post cd3-7 50mg)....
My cycle length has been 35 days for the last two months....not really ovulating at any predictable time :ohno: but...doing the math, probably occurring around day 21-25. Now that I am on clomid, going in for the US on CD 12.....how likely is it that they will have me trigger within 48 hours of that visit vs. coming back again (and again) for US? I asked the RN and she said that if by CD 12, they did not look "right" for trigger, I would not trigger this month...... That makes absolutely no sense to me!

LOL,! Mspy! That's totally par for the course. As your E2 (estrogen) rises, you'll produce more EWCM. It's a good thing and means that everything is going as planned!

HAHA I did do it once before, in my leg years ago when DH was out of town but I couldn't do it this time. DH did it when I got home from work and seriously, it was nothing! It did sting a little when the med was going in but I didn't feel the needle at all!
Don't stress about it, it really doesn't hurt at all.

I really don't want to sound like I am over reacting but I did my first shot of Lupron tonight and about 3-4 hours after I got a really bad twinge in my left hip that literally made me jump. Now I am getting shooting pains in the same hip about every minute or so. Did anyone have this? I read that joint pain is a side effect and sometimes doesn't go away. :eyebrow:

I had a follow up appt this am. (CD6 instead of CD7 b/c they were worried about tropical storm Fay causing problems tomorrow am) Lining looked very good- he saw some lines that are supposed to be a good sign. I think I've read posts about them before. I had 1 good size & some smaller follicles on one ovary- not much going on with the other ovary:shocker:. I'm supposed to hear later today if I need to adjust dosage & whether to start Ganirelix. Last month on Clomid, my follicles looked good, but my lining was thin- this month I really want both my lining & follicles to look good. IUI is still a week away so I have time for more follicles to develop.

Kristen, I didn't have any side effects from Lupron -- I think it is more of a cumulative drug, so people who are on it for chronic conditions often see the worst of the side effects. But, if you're concerned, I'd call the nurses. You don't want this to get worse if this is only day2. GL, hon.

I am 39, my fiance is too.
We have been TTC pretty much the whole time we've been together- 6 years.
We had to pay for our first 3 cycles (approx. 50K), which we wouldn't have cared about, if we were holding a baby in our arms. Now I have insurance that covers two cycles by the age of 40, so, I am hoping this is it.

My first cycle was BFN
My second cycle was BFP, but, it was a blighted ovum, so no baby.
My third cycle didn't make it to transfer because the one fertilized egg I had, did not continue to multiply and was not viable.
Here I am 4 months later on my fourth cycle and I am praying, bargaining, stressing and wanting to scream for a MIRACLE.

I don't know what to say to this one. The 2WW has got to be almost unbearable. I'm scared to death of pregnancy tests. I would like to say that when my time comes I'll wait for the blood test, but I have no idea what is better or less stressful! :luck: with whatever you decide!!

I can honestly say that I have NEVER taken a HPT while doing infertility treatments. I took a few when I was first married (17 years ago) but I have always waited for my blood tests. To be honest, I never thought of doing a HPT before having the blood test. I didn't know where was such a POAS addiction til I came here  When my time comes, I know I will wait for the blood test results, the 2ww is a killer but that call from the office gives me something to look foward to and hope for. If you do HPT everyday and it's neg. that will just make you upset and have negative thoughts. Don't do it! Don't do it!!

Gatorade for bloating?? I never heard of this??!! Why Gatorade?

No idea, but a lot of REs recommend it. Electrolytes, maybe??? I'll tell you, I developed a wicked addiction to orange Gatorade during stims. Worked for me - no issues buttoning even the skinniest pants until maybe the last day (12) of stims, and then just a bit snug.

Had my last scan today before Retrieval. RE didn't count how many follies but I can see plenty of them on the screen. The sizes already reach 18-22mm but RE only schedule me for OPU on Wednesday morning. Another 2 days of Gonal-F and HCG on Monday night (which is my last day of injection...hoooray!). Hi Girls! I've been for a couple of u/s since I last posted and I'm happy to say that my follies are coming along! Slow and steady, they're doing well. I went in this am and it looks like I have a bunch in the 12-15 range. It looks like I should be triggering some time this week!

Mspy- yeah...my RE upped my Repronex to 3 vials! But, he also lowered the Gonal f dosage...trying to find the right combo, they say. I'm happy with my response now, so it gives time for them all to mature (as long as they're moving in the right direction, right?). Another question for you...what is OPU? Is that your retrieval? Getting excited for you!

How's everyone else holding up?

Hey girls!!

This is getting exciting! Finished my BCP on thursday and AGAIN I am waiting for AF so I can start stimming. She said if I don't get it by this wed. to just go in for b/w & u/s but I don't know if they will have to give me more provera so start AF. I can't imagine them starting me w/ out AF. :eyebrow:

I found a bottle of estradiol in my bag of goodies. When do I start that? Day 3?

Mia: Yay for ya growing follies! Been reading too many IVF brochures lately and the med terms is stuck in my head. OPU - Oocytes Pick Up which is also Retrieval.

Update: Finally, just had my last HCG injection by myself (i hope this is really the last shot?) and am waiting for Retrieval on Wednesday Morning. RE will be putting me under sedative (I will be zzzzz during the Retrieval) and I hope this will not hurt!! You have no idea how glad I am that I've finally reach this stage. Didn't thought I could pull through 5 weeks of diligence self-inflicting pain (that would be injections). My lower abdomen is huge and my tummy is all bruise and needle marks all over. DH said I look "fatter" today (boo hoo!) and I went :pokey:. It's not a really bad thing that I gain weight (been trying to do so but it's hard) but everything seems to be concentrated on lower abdomen! I hope everything will be back to normal soon!

I was looking at some IVF charts in FF and it seems that a lot of ladies took Progesterone during the 2ww. Is this a pill or injection? Please don't tell me it's something like the PIO (what does this stand for anyway?) which I find rather terrifying! Any information will really help pacify me!

Ok i won't do it! Will let DH keep the HPT where i can't find it. haha....

I am feeling soooo bloated and whole lot of side effetcs (from the Gonal-F)? Main discomfort at the abdomen. I am so bloated that my tummy looks 4-5 months pregnant! On top of that, feeling very nausea plus fatigue. Is this normal?????

MSPY yes thats normal im feeling the samething as well, and my ovaries want to explode....lol.

My Dr. may be adding a med to help me O pretty quick here so I'm popping in here to get some insight...

Is my understanding correct that the only big difference between clomid and femara is that the femara is better for CM and maybe less side effects?

Well, Im back in the running.
I had IUI #2 yesterday morning, with not so great of numbers. Only one follicle and only 13 million with 100% motility on the swimmers. But, like everyone says... it only takes one.
So let the 2ww begin!!
I am 1dpIUI and I can test on September 9th!

I'm so excited for you girl! PIO stands for progesterone in oil. I have to take those shots, which are IM, until my pregnancy test. It if it a positive test, I have to take the shots until there is confirmed viability, i.e. they see the heartbeat. And maybe longer depending on my progesterone levels. I think it is different for everyone. I would be suprised if you weren't put on some kind of progesterone, but I'm definitely no pro! :luck:

I have the PIO also and will do them until my blood test. I don't want to scare you BUT those shots HURT!!!!!!! So just breath in and then while he is doing the injection, breath out really hard. It helps me.

8 follicles were retrieved, however only 2 embies were viable - not what they would've picked if there were more to choose from. This is our 2nd round of IVF - the first round ended in an 'accident' with our one and only emby.

Good luck to all you ladies with your ER and ET's lots of :bellyrubs:and sticky vibes ... here's to the 2WW:crazy:

I suppose technically I'm now on my 2ww although we have taken a sabatical from the injections and medical help for the last two months. Lots of BDing and two normal cycle months, this month's O appears to have happened Monday, right on schedule so AF is due 9/8.

If she arrives I hopefully will be back with the girls next month on the "bloat fest".
If she doesn't I'll test probably 9/10 or 9/11 just to make sure mother nature doesn't pull a fast one and my AF is late....so I'm praying for lots of sticky vibes and an nice thick bed for a little one to tuck into.

Catch up again soon
Max

BTW Malf and Burbank so sorry for your sad news.. try to stay strong.

I'm so excited for all of you, a lot has happened since I last checked in.
I've been MIA this week, things are crazy in Denver, but here's my update:

Started Lupron and Dexamethasone on Sunday!!!! I had my nurse friend give the first shot because I was scared, and now DH can do them since I found out they aren't bad! I itch a lot and I get a little rash right at the site, but I called my doc and she said not to worry unless it gets worse.

So now I wait for AF early next week, then start all the other stuff (that would be "stimming," right?)

So much has happen in the past 2 days and I hope everyone is doing well. Mia: Yay for 23 eggies!

I am in absolute pain as I am typing. Guess how many eggs they retrieved from me 2 days ago? 41 :shocker:!!!! and I found out 14 of them fertilized (that's suppose to be good). Now the bad news....I'm in hell right now. I am soooooo bloated that I look 5-6 months pregnant! I can't walk properly because of the pain and discomfort. I can't eat because I'm nauseatic (I throw up whatever touches my tonsils) I can't breath deeply (or else my tummy will ache even more). And I can't sleep for 2 nights already because of the pain. Help.......I want all these to go away! Already on drips for 2 days and I don't think the symptoms are subsiding. RE says it will take another 1-2 weeks and I can't take it anymore! I cried myself to sleep hoping that everything will go away in the morning......

We're a bit different since we've just begun TTC. We have known issues so my wonderful Doc said we could skip right to IUI.

Me: 30 DH: 31
TTC since 7/08, skipped this month.
First IUI will be ~ Sep 22, no meds, no u/s, no trigger. Just poas and call to come in the next day.

Our plan is to try IUI for 5 cycles and if no success wait and adopt after we move next summer.

Hmmm, that's about it. I'm not much of a poster but I'm here reading along!

OK, girls, I'm officially in the IVF club! :hooray: I'm so excited! :hooray: I got AF today and went in for my first ultrasound. They also did bloodwork to check that my eggies aren't oldies (they were just fine 3 months ago, so keeping my fingers crossed) and I start BCP tomorrow (CD2). Within the next week or so, I'll get my protocol and I'm on the way to Baby Land! :hooray: I haven't been this excited since I went off the BCP in May 2007. :hooray: I am just thrrrrrrrilllllllllllled! :hooray: Yippeeeeeee! :hooray:

Girls, I took my first PIO shot (w/DH's help, of course!) and it wasn't bad at all! Maybe it's the cumulative pain that's bad, but so far, so good. Phew!

Hey girls. We had our transfer today! The GREAT news is that of our 16 embies, 12 are "perfect"! :hooray:

I'm SO excited because our issue was very poor embryo quality last time. I don't know of it was the change in protocol or what, but it's very exciting!

We transferred 2 lil embies and have our beta on the 11th!

How're all our other girls doing? We need updates!:silly:

Hey everyone. I start clomid next month, my doc put me on 50 mg. I ovulate on my own, so it's just to give me an extra boost. Anyone know why some people get put on 100 mg to start even if they ovulate normally? Is one any better than the next?

How long have you been TTC? I dont know much about Chlomid, how does it give an extra boost?

Do you have an appt with your doc? Has s/he seen your charts? I think your doc might want to put you on Clomid just to get a stronger O out of you...your temps are kind of all over the place! Clomid should help with that. Also, since you've been TTC for 11 months, it might be the next step. Good luck to you!!!

Me, too! And I'll pray double if you want twins!

Yes, we'd LOVE you to pray double! Heehee!

Did they change your protocol this time?

Yes, we did the long Lupron protocol last time. I did fairly well -- retrieved 14 mature eggs, but our embryo quality was so poor. They figured this was b/c of DH's poor morph. But this time we did the antagonist protocol (no Lupron -- Cetrotide after 8 days of stimming or so).

Have you started stimming yet? You were waiting for AF, right? How's it going?

Erin- It's September! That means your IVF is getting So CLOSE!

Kristen- how's the stimming going? Did I tell you that Dr. V (the new woman) did my ER? She was really nice and I think you're in great hands!

Frances- I'm wondering about your transfer. I hope you had some great embies to put back!

Mspy- How're you holding up?

Alma- what's your update on ER/ET? I hope all went well!

Dear all, Thanks for your concern. The past few days have been excruciating for me. I have deferred my ET to next month (or could be longer) due to that I have moderate OHSS. Believe me...the side effects are unbearable. Guess I am the unlucky 10%. I can't walk, can't sleep, can't sit up straight, can't eat (constantly vomiting), my entire body aches and plus a huge belly (i have trembling hands and blurred vision as I type). I was admitted to the hospital for 2 days and was just discharge yesterday. The doc had to release the fluids and got 3 litter out of me (the procedure isn't at all pleasant). And I'll I've been getting is jabs and drips (got needle marks all over my hands and arms). DH hasn't been easy on me either. He blamed this on myself because if I knew the risk, I shouldn't have gone through. I understand the frustration and distress he is going through because his making trips to the hospital (home and back) 4 or 5 times a day (hospital is 40 mins drive away each trip) plus we have to be discreet because this entire IVF treatment is a secret from our family and juggling work at the same time. I am really envious of those ladies who've gone through OHSS because I know myself now it is not at all easy. Tomorrow is exactly 1 week after my Retrieval and I hope everything will get better soon. Wish me all the prayers......I hope the real pregnancy will not be as difficult. I'm scared that I'll go have to go through the same trauma again..... :crying:

Good morning ladies.
I haven't been on since last Thursday.

My transfer was on Friday, the 29th.
Out of my 5 fertilized eggs, I had one 8-cell, one 6-cell, one 5-cell and two 4-cells. The 8 and 6 were excellent, the 5 was good and one of the 4 was good, the last 4 wasn't doing much and they expected it to stop dividing, but, guess how many were transferred???????? FOUR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Needless to say I am very nervous. This is all I think about. I literally stayed resting Friday, Sat and Sunday. Every time I felt a pull, tightening and crampy, I was hoping that the was the moment, my embies were implanting. Yesterday, I was feeling very very mild cramps, as if my period was coming.
I am so scared to have hope, but, scared not to. My 2nd IVF cycle back in Nov, I had mild cramps like I did yesterday and ended up being pregnant (blighted ovum). I find out next Tuesday, if I am pregnant. PLEASE, PLEASE, keep me in your prayers............

WOW, so much has happened since I last looked at this site. So many eggs retrieved. The day I went in for my retrieval, one lady had 24 embies and another had 17 embies retrieved. I was so happy for my 9.

MSPY I am so sorry things didn't go the way "we" wanted, this time. We definitely know how it feels. This is my 4rth cycle in 13 months. I didn't experience OHSS but, I can still relate to the disappointment.
I wish you a speedy recovery and can't wait until I hear good news on your end.

Erin....both DH and I are 25. Yes I understand that risk of OHSS increase as you are younger. I would highly recommend for your RE to monitor your growth very closely to avoid OHSS (I wouldn't want any of you ladies go through what I have just went through). Maybe I am just feeling bitter but somehow I felt that RE has prescribed me more Gonal-F than he should. I was on 300 units for 8 days and on the 9th day, he reduce to 225 units (after me complaining of the bloating) and on the 10th day, he advise for me to take up whatever balance I have left (I have used 7 pens in total) which if I am not mistaken is more than 400 units all leftover combine altogether! I went ahead and took more than 400 units on the 10th day (It was his instructions to finish up the bonus anyway). It didn't struck me that this could be the problem of my OHSS? RE wasn't aware that I had so much Gonal-F left but he should have known because he was the one who prescribed me 7 pens! I know that I have signed the agreement papers that I am aware of the OHSS risk HOWEVER shouldn't RE be monitoring very closely to avoid such situation (which does some how looks like there's a mistake somewhere....). I feel that RE shouldn't have prescribed me 7 pens (in fact the more they sell, they more $$$ they earn) and 6 pens would have been suffice. What do you think?????

Erin, I think we'll be cycle buddies because I haven't quite started yet and they said they'd give me blood test results and med protocol by Tuesday, but I still haven't heard from them. I'm supposed to stay on the BCPs until it's all settled, at least a week or two, but I want to be able to have time to order meds, so I'm getting antsy! We can struggle through it together to get our BPFs, and hopefully neither of us will end up w/ the nightmare of OHSS (poor mspy!).

Yo everyone! I felt as thought that I have just been given a second chance at life! I am soooooo thankful that the OHSS pain is over! Although I still look like 5-6 months prego (all the fluids still inside my abdomen but it's not as "hard" as before) and all the nausea, vomiting, pain & aches, sleepless nights are gone. The only bad part is I can't fit to ANY of my pants/jeans so had to borrow some maternity pants from SIL because of my huge belly (already wearing maternity clothes before BFP? Ha ha) Started food craving 2 days ago (which is a good sign of recovery?). Now all I need is for AF to arrive (anytime now) so I can go back to my original flat stomach, let RE monitor my condition, and have a blood/hormone test on 19/09/2008. If RE gives the green light (if my hormone levels are suitable), we'll be ready for a thaw cycle a few days after 19/09/2008. If not, we'll wait a couple more weeks so I can start the Busereline shots (to control my cycle) and will probably end up the same time around Erin and Sugar&Spice's cycle. I would have been in the 2ww now if weren't for OHSS! GGrrrrr.......Oh well, guess everything happens for a reason?

mspy, I am so happy to hear that you are feeling better. You have such a positive attitude. I honestly do not believe I would've reacted in the same manner.

I have been in this process (Fertility treatment) for 14 months with 3 failed IVF cycles. Hopefully (keep my fingers crossed), this cycle that I just completed, will be it for me (I find out next Tuesday). I am praying for a BFP.
I am really trying hard to not stress and think negative. I really hope and pray for all of us because I know there are a lot of woman going through the same thing I am going through. I didn't realize that until 1) I started going to the Fertility Clinic and 2) I found out about americanpregnancy.org. I no longer feel like a failure, but, I have to be honest and say that I feel like I don't deserve this. I know everything happens for a reason and I don't understand this one.

I know exactly how you feel Frances. This willl be my 7th IVF and maybe my last. All depends on insurance and if we can get the money together for donor eggs. Don't give up and think positive thoughts for this cycle!! :hugs:

WOW, Kristen!!!!!!!!
I don't how all you woman continue to do this time after time.
I am so mentally and physically stressed and kinda depressed.
I know we do this because we desperately want to be moms and eventually our dreams are fulfilled.

This cycle is THE hardest for me. I think it's b/c I started my infert. treatments so young (23) that it never got me really depressed and that emotional because I just though it WILL happen someday, I just have to give it time. Well, now I am going to be 39 in November and I am a wreck and mad at myself because I took a 10 year break before I started treaments again and I should have went back sooner.

Kristen, I just turned 39 in July.
My first three cycles, we had to pay for.
I got insurance in June that covers two IVF cycles by the age of 40, which is why we did it again. I had given up and $45K was hard enough coming up with, it would have been worth it if we had a baby, but, I am scared and I don't know if I can do this again.

i haven't really posted since i joined but I have been reading all your postings. They keep me going and give me strength, thank you. Here's my story..DH and I started trying 2 years ago and after almost a year finally got tested. It looks like everything is ok with me but my DHs sperm seems to swim a little slow. :ohno: We were advised to do ivf, chances of conceiving naturally are very low. We continued trying naturally for a few more months before deciding to go ahead with IVF. It's been really hard on me but even more on DH. When we got the news, he cried on my shoulder for the first time ever. It's been even harder to talk about it since we both come from huge families and are the first dealing with infertility. We finally told our parents last month. So i'm in my cycle, just ended lupron and it's crazy side effects. I think i had all of them (except for the low labido :winks:) and started stimulating last Monday. Today I went for bw and was told that levels are low and my doctor has doubled the dosage to 300 twice a week. (hope it's not too much). Monday I go for bw/us, hope to recieve better news. Thanks for listening...as I finish this posing I'm feeling great relief for finally letting my emotions out.

Okay, so I'm so excited. I had my first follicle u/s today. I had one big (22) follicle on the R side. Several little, but none big enough on the L. My lining was a 6.4, which I think was a little low. We triggered today and will have our 1st IUI tomorrow afternoon. I'm SO nervous. Anybody know anything about chances of conception with only one egg or about uterine linings? I'd love to hear some success stories - or anything for that matter.

Fia, what are you stimming with?? I started stimming on Saturday and I am doing 300 units of Gonal-F pen every night and 5 units of Lupron and for the past 3 nights I have been doing 1CC of Repronex. I am just curious of what different kinds of meds are out there that you only need to do it a couple times a week!! It sure beats the 3 shots daily :pokey:

Frances, I know exactly how you are feeling but don't give up hope!
You have plenty of time to do another cycle before you are 40 (if needed)
and if it were me, I would do it. It's covered by your insurance and you would never have to wonder....what if I did it one more time, what would have happened. That is the whole reason I am back here and doing IVF again.
Good luck to us!!!

Hopefully, this will be a successful cycle for you.

Thanks Kristen.

Obviously, I am having sleeping problems. Its almost 4am in CT. I have been up since 2:20am. I don't know if this is from the progesterone shots or just anxiety, but, I've been like this for a few days now. Four more days before b/w for hopefully BFP:pray:.

Thanks :) I was wondering how long did your trigger shot stay in your system? I took a test today and it had a faint line, last 3 months the trigger was out on day 6 this is day 8 I know I'm probably just hoping so much :( How long does it stay for you girls? Tomorrow will be 6DPIUI so probably to early hahahahaha

I'm not sure- I've read it can stay as long as 10 days:shocker:but last time I checked at 7DPIUI and it was gone. I'm sure it varies from person to person. I've been out of town almost a week and haven't been able to check this time.

Girls....thank you so much for all of your wishes and concern! That really help me speed up my recovery emotionally. Me and DH have been covering up about my OHSS and have been telling everyone i've got a bad case of gastric. So practically, beside hubby and me, you are the only ones who knows this "secret". SSShhhh.......

Frances: Since I have to go through this regardless what, just have to tell myself to go through with a positive attitude instead of staying bitter. Though I do have some "dark" days when I just feel like giving up but I've got my APA girlies support which always always keep me more determine than ever at times like this. I'm sorry to hear that you've been through 3 failed IVF cycles (**** those fertility cost!!!!). I'll be praying that this will be your last one which gives you your BFP!

Kristen: Out of curiosity, did you ask your RE why did he prescribed Repronex along with Gonal-F? Does Repronex does the same thing as Gonal-F? The follies already 14mm? How many day more of stims left? Grow follies grow!!!! Yes I think it's normal to bruise here and there (because I did) but it goes away quickly. At least you don't have a bloated 5 month look-a-like preggo belly (that would be) with serious bruise (from the Mother-Of-All-Needle that the RE has to put INTO my abdomen to drain the fluids out). All done when I was wide awake and had to stay in an awkward position for whole 3 hours so gravity can force the fluid out. :shocker:

Fia: Sorry to hear that you went through a painful confrontation. It's good that you are doing something and we are hoping to share YOUR goods news (BFP) with us soon!

RSC: Yay for stimming tomorrow! When is your ER and ET????? I'm feeling a whole lot better and can't wait to get back for ET!!!! Will be getting my hormone levels check on 19/09/2008 and if they are alright, we'll go for the thaw cycle a few days later and we could fall very close?

Mia and Alma: When are your test dates????????????

Frances- I am so sorry about the bleeding. I know what an awful feeling that is. But please try not to get totally discouraged...IVFers often spot and still have positive outcomes. My prayers are with you.

Kristen- Minus the Lupron, it seems our med protocol was very much the same. I was on 300 Gonal-f and then later on 2 vials of Repronex. Around day 7 or 8 they lowered my Gonal - f to 225 and upped the repronex to 3 vials. I was told that the Repronex helps to boost the quality of the eggs and mature them.

I'm holding up here...still waiting of course! My blood test is on Sept. 11th

Good luck to all my stimming girls and patience vibes to all our waiters!

Frances....sending baby dust to you.

Update! Just did a follow up today with RE regarding my OHSS and everything seems fine. The fluids have almost all gone but my ovaries are still huge! (9cm left ovary and 11cm right ovary). There were much bigger last week though and they have shrunk a bit since then. RE says the usual ovary size is only 3cm and look how much mine expanded! That's why I'm still so bloated but RE says the bloating should go away in 2 weeks time when AF arrives (i've gear up my maxipads and pain killer cause RE says this AF will be a heavy one). Because my ovaries are so huge, they actually roll over onto my diaphragm when I lie down (no wonder I'm have a hard time breathing when sleeping). Patience, patience....all of this will be over in 2 weeks time!

RE advise that I should do the ET the cycle after this expecting AF, which means sometime late October. I am totally fine with that because I want to be in best in shape on ET. If I were to do the ET on late October or early November, do you think I will get an August baby? Because DH and I agree that we want an August baby!!!!!

mspy
09-06-2008, 12:22 PM
Forgot to add, they manage to freeze 9 apparently good quality embbies. RE said that the embbies were so good that the embyrologist advise only 1 embbie is needed for the transfer (which is unheard of). Re also says that I'm almost certainly will get pregnant with the embbies so since I've already got the hardest part settled (getting good embbies), all I need to do is nurse my health back. Will be resting until late October!

mspy
09-06-2008, 12:24 PM
My embbies cell did reach 4,5 and 6. Usually how many cell must there be to qualify for the ET? Or does it get more than that?

Miabella
09-06-2008, 12:55 PM
Mspy- sounds like you have a great plan coming up! Take good care of yourself and get your body ready for those embies!

As for the number of cells, it depends on the day. Typically, at 3 days past fertilization, embryos will be 6-8 cells and they like to see 8. However, if they're talking about your embies at 2 days past transfer (fertilization) they expect fewer cells.

Well I couldn't wait yesterday.
I tested around 2:30pm.
It was negative, but,the positive line had a hint of color.
I tested myself this morning at 4:30am, and the positive line color is getting darker, I even woke up my DF to show him.
He checked it again when he got up and said that the positive line is definitely showing. The instruction did state that the intensity of the positive line varies.
I hope, hope, hope this is true :bellyrubs:, but, I will check again tomorrow and go in for my beta on Tuesday.

I am feeling a little pull on my abdomen and my lower back aches. My breast are sore on and off. I know these are also signs of AF, but, I no longer feel like my AF is coming. I hope for a BFP when I do my beta on Tuesday.

Oh Frances!!! I hope, hope, HOPE this is your :bfp: girl!!! I can't wait until Tuesday!! :stickyvibes:

Thanks,Erin. You are such a sweetheart.
I have been reading about hcg and I wonder if the hcg shot I gave myself two weeks ago to trigger is still in my system and that is why the HPT is showing a very dim positive line.

:hi:
Nope, HCG should be out of your system by now, sounds like it IS the real thing.
I got my first REAL Positive 12 DPO on a First Response HPT.
Then I had my REAL BFP - which is what I called the Beta, 15 DPO, because it was a holiday weekend.
I peed on everything in sight for about another 2 week after my beta. LOL, buy the box of 3!!!
Congratulations on getting this far, sometimes we need to celebrate the small milestones.

Good luck to all the other ladies!

frances, I'm so excited to hear that you got even a light positive because a light + is still a + on HPTs!!! That's so fantastic. Will be looking out for your post after Monday's POAS. GO BFP! :cheer:

Wow ladies, it looks like you've all been working hard while I've just been bding..lol.
We'll AF arrived so I'm just waiting my insurance approval and if I get it I'll be starting the BCP for my 4th and final IVF cycle hopefully this coming week. I want to get my a cycle in before I have to do another chlomid challenge(which I'm refusing to do, hence my last cycle)as they don't agree with me. I've been charting and everything there is looking good, my sonohistrogram results showed a perfect uterus, now I just need to produce that perfect egg.
Good luck to all you girls and hopefully I'll be catching upto you all soon.

Well ladies, I did my 3rd HPT 4 hours ago and it was positive, again, with a very very light positive line.
It looks just like Mzcrisp POAS test on the STT board.
I will hopefully get a BFP tomorrow from my beta test at 7:30am, then I will be convinced. Wish me luck.

Gotta go, have to get ready for work.

For anyone who might know the answer to this.
My cycle has been 37 days for ar least a year. Now that I am on clomid I am not sure when I would ovulate I could never pinpoint exactly when I had ovulated before and now I am trying to find out if clomid will shorten my cycle or make me O even later. I just cannot find any info for someone with a longer cycle who uses clomid.

I know this is a month later but my cycles were usually 44-46 days. OB started me on clomid literally to help shorten my cycles and get us pregnant quicker. (TTC #2 since Jan with M/C in April). I am on my second cycle of clomid right now which is 100 mg a day days 5-9. On my first cycle I believe that I O'd on CD 20 which we missed because I was away (according to my OB we had to have sex - sorry hate "bd"- every other on days 11-17). So This time around I am using OPKs but starting them around CD14. (And wouldn't you know it I go away CD 17 and 18...) Before clomid I would usually O on or about day 30.

I actually popped on here to see if other's have experience weight gain on clomid....and my body seems so out of whack...? Seems really over the top to me.

Frances, yes this sounds like the real deal to me too! Good luck with the beta test tomorrow. How soon do they actually let you know the results?

RSC.....how did your u/s go?????

Well, AF showed up today as I have expected. RE actually told me to expect AF in the next 2 weeks (after what he saw in the scan) but funnily it arrived exactly as my usual 12 days of LP (not sure it's just coincidence or what). I was still a little bloated on Saturday (the day had scan with RE) but suprisingly I have been recovering rather fast since then and my tummy's quite back to its original state now (pre OHSS).

I did a HPT yesterday and it was BFN. :ohno: I talked to the nurse this am and they want to do a beta to double check before I stop using progesterone. After the HCG trigger, I had symptoms but they're all gone so I don't have much hope for tomorrow's test.

Thanks for asking.
