The purpose of this forum is to provide support and information related to BFing issues. By posting your questions, you are also helping others who may read the responses and remember how to solve their problem as soon as it arises. However, in some circumstances mommy may require ongoing support and feel like she would be dominating the forum if she posted as much as she needed, or where she might not feel comfortable posting to begin with. The helpers listed are mommies who have personal experience with the topic for which they are listed, who have agreed to help on a one-on-one basis when needed. Please keep in mind that they are not affiliated with APA, nor are they medical professionals. If your child's health is at risk, please contact your doctor or a certified Lactation Consultant.

I added you to pumping while working, nursing with an older child, booby ouchies, and nursing beyond infancy. I didn't add you to child-led weaning because I was thinking it would be more for moms whose babies had child-led weaned already, not mamas who were practicing CLW... KWIM?

Added you. :)

I think I pulled a Rach and put her down for the wrong listing, thinking that she WILL be doing that rather than what she HAS done. Fixed.
Please add me to:
Weaning (child-led)
Nursing with an older child
SAHM (BFing without bottles)
Nursing strikes
Thanks!
Done. :)

I'd also be up for "making the decision to BF" or some such thing... for people who need the help to decide to at least TRY... does that make sense?

I can also do BFding without bottles and thrush issues.

I don't know that we'd be considered momma led weaning, since A started weaning on his own... It was the progesterone that finally ended what little bit of nursing he practiced. I can certainly help mommas through the emotional heart break that you go through- either way:(

Do you want me to remove you from mama-led?
Tonya

I guess so. I definitely wasn't ready for him to wean, so I guess you can add us to child-led, though he was still young. It's up to you. Surely we're not the only family to have gone through that.

Since I had trouble deciding to keep BF'ing or not, had a NICU baby, exclusivley pumped for a month or so, had to transition him from bottle to breast, and had to transition him to formula in the end.

I can also help with "coping with dwindling supply and switching to formula" area. Not sure if "nursing with an older child" means nursing the older child or simply having one at home, but if it is the latter I can help with that too. I also have flat/inverted nipples so have only been able to BF with a shield if that is a concern for anyone...

And you can put me down for that too - used a Nipple sheild when Iw as BF

Added everyone. I was thinking, some of the lists (like SAHM and extended nursing) are getting pretty long and we might not add more to the lists that have 6+ people already.

I don't know if you even want to add this or not but how about nursing as a teen mom or young mom. I know that sometimes we deal with body issues, peer issues as well as mom issues and those things can be overwhelming and lead to giving up, ya know? I started BFing at 19 and still am at 21!

I'd like to help on these. I think BFIng w/reflux isgood too. I am working w/a doctor & an LC to get a diet thats conducive for him. Plus there's all the issues w/ how to feed (holds, angles) and things like that. It's hard to feed a fussy baby, and they think they're starving b/c of all the spitting up....anyway. I'd like tohelp mommies going through this.

I can be of assistance with these three items. (they kinda all go hand in hand anyway)..I've had to relactate after a major dip in supply due to repeat infections and sickness. It's a lot of work but it CAN be done.
