I decided to poas (frer) this morning to see if the lines were getting any darker. Well, they aren't. They are the same as Fridays. I know I'm still really early, but they should be getting darker, right? All my others always have. I did take another one of my cheapies lastnight and it's def darker than the first few. Yeah, I said first few. I'm a poas addict. Have any of you had your tests not darken like they should and you go onto having a healthy pregnancy?

Im bad about this too but you have to remember that not all tests have the same amount of dye in them. Not to mention you are still very early. If you are concerned maybe go get a digi? Hang in there momma.

I'm waiting for orders for my beta now. Ugh!!

ITA about the test dyes. I'm also a POAS-aholic, and took a TON of tests through the first week after my BFP. I even made a post, because I had a test that came back slightly lighter than the day before, and it was the same brand! But then I took another test 2 hours later (not even FMU) and that one was darker again. So try not to worry (although I know it is hard, and I definitely don't take my own advice).

Oh, and FWIW, my first beta was at 269, and then a few days later is when I got my lighter BFP, and then I had a 2nd beta that came back at 4,829, so that line should definitely not have been any lighter than the day before. :)

Thank you. That sure gives me more hope. Now I just wish my Dr would fax the orders for my bloodwork. Gosh, I'm getting antsy here!!!

Yep, I wouldn't put any stock in the darkness of the line. I bet everything is perfect!

I actually haven't been poas at all which is surprising.

Now I'm freaking out because I was stupid enough to try a digi. Of course it said Not Pregnant. Why would I think it would say anything else? I am barely 4 weeks.... I'm going to step away from the sticks and just wait on betas. I just hope they don't let me down. :/

I'm sorry! I didn't mean to scare you. Fingers crossed your betas are good. Any news on when you will get in?

I've peed on 4 different sticks and the lines looked different everytime. Are you spotting at all? Cramping?

I am a big hypocrite saying this, but sometimes I think that is the best thing for our sanity! I hope you get your beta results quickly and that all is well! Your urine just may have been really diluted and, as you said, it is still very early for a digital without using fmu. Hang in there!! I know it's hard!

Beta results are only 27. I am still very early. Dh and I didn't even did until May 26 or 27. Then I got a pos hpt on June 7th, so who knows when I actually implanted . The low numbers do concern me, but I'm trying to remain positive . Anyway, I have to have betas drawn again tomorrow so we'll see how that goes.... Prayers and sticky vibes please.

I hope your numbers are good tomorrow. Not trying to pry, but I in due in October and made the mistake of poas quite a few times before having my first ultrasound. The lines NEVER darkened. Everything is fine with my pregnancy so far - healthy baby girl. Don't rely on the darkening of a stick to judge the health of your pregnancy.

I know a lot of people who started off with numbers in the 20s or 30s. Here's to hoping they double! Sticky, sticky vibes to you!

I hope you're right. The only time I had low betas it didn't end so well. And those started around 70. It was an early m/c that time. :(

My one and only beta was 21. That was on 5/30. I have no idea when I ovulated though so i can't give you dpo.

Especially without knowing how many dpo you are, 27 is a pretty good number. My RE looks for it to be over 30 on 14dpo.

eta: this pregnancy, my beta was 31 at 11dpo, and 109 at 14dpo. hope yours comes back great!

Just wanted to add some more hope...

My beta with DS2 was 12 at 11 dpo and 28 at 14 dpo. I think your # is great! I can just imagine how paranoid you are feeling though. Sending many, many :hugs:!!

I just got the results.from my second beta. It didn't double. It's only 43 now. I don't expect to be in this room much longer. I may be wrong and hope I am, but it's not looking good. I will kup. :(

From what I've read, doubling takes from 31 to 72 hours. Without knowing the exact times the tests were done, it sounds like you're still in that range
:fingerscrossed: that you're a slow riser

ClarisseMarie
06-14-2012, 06:48 AM
Yep, while 48 hours is most common, as long as they double every 72 hours you are ok! Liam's beta didn't double on our 2nd draw, but by the 3rd draw it had more than tripled. So don't give up yet! Are they going to do another one tomorrow?

My Dr only ordered two. He might order more when he gets those results. I have not heard from them yet.

Exactly how many hours apart were the blood tests? I mean, down to almost the minute, if you know. With both of my kids I had low, low numbers from 12dpo to 18dpo, then had huge surges where my numbers would triple. If your tests weren't at least 50+ hours apart I think you're doing great!

I feel like such an outsider. I don't know what Beta's are or what POAS means. I have always just taken a test and if it was positive I was done. Maybe it's good I don't know about these other things or I may become an addict too :)

The tests were exactly 48 hours apart. I work there so I made sure it was exact times. I hate this wondering.... I like to be told yes it's good or no it's not. Ugh!
