I just got back from Rite Aid and I am still shocked! $70 for my prescription for prometrium 200mg pills for a 30 day supply. Does this sound right? I am just stunned at this cost. When I was on this (albeit a lower dosage I believe) back in 07 I never paid close to this amount. Is there a cheaper place to get this?

I paid $20 for 60 Prometrium pills, which was a month supply. When I took it a year ago, I don't remember it being $20...I thought we paid $10 or so for it.
I'd ask your OB if they can write for a compound Rx to be written, you'll have to take it to a compounding pharmacy and you'll have to use them as vaginal suppositories but it should be cheaper.
You could also ask about Crinone 8%, which may be cheaper. Also, ask your OB's office for samples...they usually have this on sample if they have a rep that comes around. I think Crinone is messier than vaginal prometrium but they are all messy and gross to me so I'd rather just have the cheapest one I could have! :)

My RE's office had me go through a mail order pharmacy that specialized in fertility meds and things were a bit cheaper through them - I was taking vaginal suppositories though.

You could ask about crinone 8% and I got them from ascend speciality. My insurance said it 40 dollars for 30 day supply but ascend speciality had a coupon which brought it down to 10 dollars. This is their number if u are interested to call and ask for prices. (800) 850-9122
My local pharmacy charged me $270 for 8days of crinone! After that I got my script(now for prometrium) filled mail order and it is $20 for a 10 day supply. I am using Apothacary by Design, based in Maine I think! I was also shocked by the price of the crinone as I DO NOT remember it being so expensive 4 yrs ago. I would say call your dr. and they should be able to find you a cheaper mail order pharmacy.

Depends on your insurance. This past time, it cost me $30 for 30 days. 2 years ago, it was cheaper for me, but then my insurance changed.
