When did you stop taking progestrone suppl

Today was my last visit at the re office and I use crinone 8%. And my re told me to stop using the progesterone today. The baby measured 9 weeks and 4 with a heartbeat of 179. The re could see the amniotic sac and the placenta forming and the umbilical cord. I am sorta scared to stop using the progestrone because I thought everyone used it until 12 or 13 weeks.

Please let me know what should i do.

I just stopped yesterday 12+5 per my MFM.

If you're nervous about stopping, just ask if you can continue it until you enter the second trimester and know the placenta has taken over. My RE and OB are both open to continuing something if it makes me feel more comfortable and won't do any harm. :hugs:

My RE told me I could stop at 10wks, but I chose to taper off over a few weeks after that (maybe ending around 13wks or so?) w/DS. She was fine with that, though she said it really wasn't necessary.

With both of my successful pregnancies, I used the supps through the 12th week. I'd keep using them for a bit longer if it will bring you peace of mind!

Thanks ladies... looks like i am continue using progesterone until 12 or13 weeks cause i have 23 applicators left and have a ton of refills.. atleast DH and i will be at peace....

Definitely use them until they are gone!

I was on huge doses of progesterone (two 8% Crinone supposetories, 3 lozenges, and two injections of 2ml- every single day!) and I continued until 13ish weeks. I tapered off too over the last week and a half.

I would definitely call your doctor and ask the progesterone i was on HAD to be stopped after 12 weeks or it woulda caused damahe to my littleman

What kinda progesterone you were on. I am planning on stopping in 2 weeks where I will be 12 weeks then.
