So since I have been side sleeping the last several weeks, I have been having this on and off dull hip ache when I sleep. So, whatever side I am sleeping on, I will wake up wiht that hip aching, and will switch to the other side only to have it happen on that side too. I am still able to sleep some b/c the ache does not start right after I switch sides- rather it happens 1.5-3 hours later.
Anyone else experience this? Is there anything I can do? I just met with my ob and I knew I should have written down my questions, knowing my baby brain, but I did not. And, I am having possible pg complications, so my focus was diverted to what seemed like a more pressing issue. But, this is quite annoying.
Thanks!
Kristen

I had that with Abbey, the extra weight of your belly on your hips, the loosening of your joints while pregnant, all combined with sleeping on your side every night, make you have hip pain.
Have you tried a pregnancy pillow like the snoogle (http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&client=safari&rls=en&gs_upl=4839l4839l1l5210l1l1l0l0l0l0l142l142l0.1l1l 0&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&biw=1220&bih=656&q=pregnancy+pillow&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=4587151584404814292&sa=X&ei=K9EET4DuBqqKsQKm1s2RCg&ved=0CI0BEPMCMAE#ps-sellers)?

I've been having it for WEEKS! I see a chiro every 2 weeks. My sciatic is what is causing all the pain, every 2 weeks my chrio adjusts me and I feel great for about 1.5 weeks and then it starts hurting again.

Do you sleep with a pillow between your legs? Having something under you belly can also help (or not - it helped with my first but did not with my second).

I sleep with a pillow tucked under my belly, between my knees & & against my lower back. They are just small pillows from Wal-mart, not full size but I do have a mini snoogle on the way.
Last time I had PT, adjustments from a ND & cranio sacral massage. Any one of those would be highly beneficial. My insurance covered most of the PT, the others were done by family. I'm planning on starting either chiro or massage soon.

I use a small very flat pillow under my belly and a very thick pillow between my knees/legs at night. Since I started the pillow between my knees (it was just from the couch, I'm too cheap to buy a pillow just for this purpose), my hip pain has gone away completely (except when I do my squats - but that, obviously, is not from sleeping!)

This is how I sleep, too! It's like pillow city around me at night. :hugs:

It's part of pregnancy unfortunately. Im tossing and turning all night long because of this same problem. My body pillow is the only thing that helps.
