When did your baby's heartbeat "level" out? At first, this baby's hb was in the upper 160s, then the lower 160s and now it is in the 150s. Just curious....

With DS and with this pg, it was never the same at every appt. It was usually in the same 10-15 beat range after then 8-10 week mark.

This little one's hb is always 140s. It was 150 at 8 weeks and rarely gets up there now.

Both girls were in 160's during pregnancy. Rarely got below 155.

I don't think the heartbeat "levels out"....Just like our own heartbeats can vary from minute to minute. It is a normal, healthy sign for the baby's heartbeat to have accelerations from baseline, that's what nurses and doctors look for when you have a non-stress test or are in labor hooked up to external fetal monitoring to indicate fetal well being.

Heart beat should be in the 150's to 160's. My last one was 130's to 140s but I am on medication for my heart rate and that could have been why his was lower.

I never heard that. My first pregnancy my son's heartbeat was always in the 130-140's range and this time around (it's a girl) it's higher. I think it really all depends on what is going on in there when they check (if the baby is sleeping, moving around, etc.)

My baby's heartrate was 136 today and midwife said it was probably because he was sleeping. At other appointments, when he's active and moving around, his heartbeat has been in the 145-150 range.

It's normal for it to vary.

maybe I'm wrong, I'm pretty sure my MD said 150-160, but I may have that totally off

That can't be right if only for the old wive's tale that a HB above 150 was a girl and below 150 was a boy. If a "healthy" range is 150-160 for ALL, then this old wive's tale would be saying that all boys didn't have healthy beats.

This! At my last appointment, the hb was 145, and had been 165 previously. I asked if that was normal and the doctor said it was totally normal and that it was actually what they look for. They like to see variation.
