38 Weeks... Still No Braxton HIcks...

So Tuesday I mark the 38th week... last week at the 37th week prenatal appointment the belly was measuring 38-39 weeks and I was 2cm dilated... and this past Thursday my mucus plug dislodged.

I would love this baby to come early. My first son came a week early, but I cant remember how long I was experiencing braxton hicks with him... All I remember it took me nearly 3 hrs to finally realize that my labor contractions and the braxton hicks contractions where slightly different, and coming at a more frequent interval than the braxton's...

So my question is who out there had no braxton hicks prior to the onset of labor??? Could I go straight into labor??? This better not be a sign that this baby is coming late!!!

I really would love to have this baby tomorrow... before Christmas and not after Christmas... DH needs a break from work... :laugh:

I dont remember having hardly if any braxton hicks with my first baby. I had to be induced at 2 weeks overdue but I was not even dilated.

I didn't have any noticeable Braxton hicks ever in my first pregnancy (or thus far in this pregnancy). With my first my contractions didn't start until labor started. They started on my due date at 5 min apart and he was born the next night.

I had none at all with my first pregnancy but have had quite a bit this time around. It's just one of those every pregnancy is different kind of things.

i had no noticeable bh with my first... was 2 cm from 38 wks till dr induced me 3 days after the due date.

I didn't have bh's with either of my kiddos ;) I was walking around 6cm with ds...and never once felt anything.

I never had BH with ds1 and went into labor naturally at 41 weeks.

I've never had any contraction outside of labor and with my first I had no cervical changes before labor and with the second I was not even 1 cm dilated when I went into labor.

I'm still not convinced I ever had any discernable Braxton Hicks when I was pregnant with DD and I went into labor on my own at 39 weeks 1 day.

I never had BH with my first pregnancy (nothing yet this time either) but I did go into labor at 35 weeks (my water broke on its own).

I didn't have any my first time around but I was induced at 39 weeks so I may have had some that week? IDK.

Had no BH with DS prior to labor. Went 8 days early w/ DS. Had lots of on and off regular contractions for 36 hours leading up to birth.

With my 7th baby I only had a few BH that I noticed.

My water broke just before 38wks and my labor didn't start within 24hrs so they started pitocin. I was hooked up to the monitor and the nurses would come in and say: "You *must* have felt that one!"...nope...nada :D. Even with the induction I didn't really have any pain until the last hour and even then it was only intense for about 15mins.

I'm almost 28wks and am having a lot of BH this time!
