Once I heat it through, I can refrigerate it and then eat it cold, right?
I hate hate hate warm lunch meat but sandwhiches are about all the sound good. I was thinking I could heat the meat when I got it home from the store and then it would be good to go from the fridge when I'm ready for it. Is this correct?

during my first pregnancy I was all worked up over lunch meat too... relax dont worry... Buy good quality meat and enjoy!!! I buy Hillshire farm and dont worry...
But to answer your question it sounds reasonable to me... once you heat it/cook it and kill any bacteria and immediately put into the fridge I would say you're fine... its the when food is allowed to cool on the counter that the majority of any air born contaminants/bacteria can land and grow on the warm food.

I haven't been heating it so far but it freaks out dh so I'm trying to play by the rules :eyeroll: I lived on salami and cheese during my second tri with Mason. And took aleve and drank tea that contained vitex all through that pregnancy. Dh is just really wigged out this time around so gotta at least pretend to be a good girl.

I dont heat my lunch meat up. I asked my OB about it and he told me that deli meat from the deli will more likey have listeria then prepackaged meat. Of course I dont want the prepackaged stuff I want the deli stuff. I just eat it cold!

I also don't worry about it. But if you are going to play nice for your DH, then yes, I think your idea sounds logical. :)
