Hello everyone, I just wanted some honest opinions. I wanted you all to look at this ultrasound pic and see if you see one baby or two. We have been told one healthy baby boy (see blue outline) but I just can't shake this feeling of twins and for many other reasons also. I was extremely sick, am measuring 4 weeks ahead, and started having 2-3 braxton hicks an hour at only 19 weeks. The image in the red outline looks like it could be another baby laying on its side with head toward the left. If not another baby does anyone have any idea what that image could be? Thanks so much for looking!

It would be really hard to miss a twin at this stage. I would bet on it being just one baby. Did you ask your Doc or the tech about what you are seeing?

There are no pockets of black which would indicate any kinds of fluid-amniotic or fluids within the body-in the red outline.
The top of the red outline is the edge of your uterus. Just above it is the placenta and then above that is the baby. Underneath the edge of the uterus, the stuff inside your red outline, is just more body anatomy outside of the uterus.

Yeah a baby would show up as black on an u/s from the fluid, and it would have fluid around it.

I don't have twins, but it does not look like twins to me. There is no fluid around the red outline. Measuring ahead can just be a sign of a slightly bigger baby or just the way the baby is positioned. I measured behind with my last pregnancy and it was always just the way she was positioned. Braxton Hicks are very common after about 16 weeks. As long as you are not having more than 6 an hour no reason for worry.
