Itching..!?

Ok, this may sound weird..but my nipples are itchy! I think it is because they are dry. I am paranoid about thrush because I just finished an antibiotic and it is really hard to tell if she has milk on her cheeks or if its thrush. My nipples have been really sensitve the last couple days, but it could be from the CONSTANT nursing. Is there a month growth spurt?? It's been awful, she is screaming unless she is on the boob..! What are the symptoms of thrush anyway? Sorry this post is confusing, lol I was distracted while typing.

Sounds like it could potentially be thrush. I'd go see your doctor to be sure.

Have you tried lansinoh (sp?). It was my life saver (way back when) until my nipple "toughened up".

i was concerned about thrush a while ago, too. An LC (who took a look, and couldn't see any damage) suggested wearing 100 percent cotton bras and 100 % reusable pads and to keep the nipples dry. She said moisture just helps yeast grow, so if you suspect it, you could try it.
