I've been getting the "chills" after breast pumping... I've now ramped up to every three hours and get about 2.5 to 3 ounces for both boobs. Sometimes I get super freezing cold, like I can't get warm enough... the inside of the house is at a constant 74 degrees.. I have to put on about three blankets, and I'm shivering and it lasts about 20 minutes or so.
It only happens a few minutes after I pump, but not all the time... it's really weird. maybe it's the hormones adjusting?

Sounds like mastitis to me. Call your OB and be seen ASAP. You'll need antibiotics to clear up the infection, but, within a day you'll be feeling much better.
This is EXACTLY how i felt 2 weeks PP. I would nurse and then be so so so cold and sick, for 20 minutes or so, then, once I had to nurse again, it came back.

Thank you!! I'll go in tomorrow. I've been reading the symptoms, and a lot of them apply to me. I don't seem to run a fever, just the chills and feel run down.

my fever didn't really even start until AFTER I went in to see my OB. Actually, I called them and they had me go to the ER and see the OB on call. You might want to call now.
I have had mastitis twice and the chills started a day or two before I had fever. Hope you feel better soon.
