Ok last night my LO ate and ate, I keep switching back and forth to give my boobs a rest. He is only three weeks old so is this cluster feeding? Is he trying to increase my supply by doing this? My nipples are a little sore today because of our night time tango we had!!! 12AM-4AM.....ouch. I get him weighed today at the doctors just to see how we are doing. Last week I thought I was going to give up.I am so proud I haven't. This is my second week just BFing. His first week of life was in the NICU and had a feeding tub while there. He hates a bottle by the way! Thats my boy he loves the boob!

Yes, that is very normal. Not easy on Mommy, but normal! My son did this a lot in the early weeks...then sometimes when a growth spurt was coming he would eat every 45 minutes round the clock! I thought I would die - but it passes! You are doing so good!!!!! Its great that you didn't quit - go Momma!! Set up a nice comfy spot to nurse, stock up on books, movies, snacks, water...you can do it!!!

DD has been through a few growth spurts already where she wanted to nurse every hour during the evenings (30 minutes nursing, 30 minutes later she wanted to go again!). My advice: netflix. Gives me something to do. She still eats more in the evenings but not quite every hour for 6 hours straight.

Ditto that...great job mama! The cluster feeding is good for both of you...although it is hard to tell. My DD went 5 hours too...ouch! Keep it up!:hooray:

GS. You learn to live with it. For some it only happens for a few days, for us per se GS is a normal way of life
