I currently have a really nice Medela pump that was handed down to me from my SIL....but then she got PG again and will be having her next baby next month. Since she works and I'm a SAHM, she needs the fancy pump waaaaay more than I do, so I'm giving it back.
She mentioned that she has a First Year's pump that's a one sider. I don't pump much...mostly only when I'm a little fuller than normal in the morning.
Has anyone used this pump? Will it be good enough for the occasional use?

I never used it but used to work the breastpump section at BRU and advised no one to buy it. If you look at all the product reviews it is a piece of crap. Also, I have read and heard from other moms who used it that it never pumped very much, that they started to lose their supply...
The only time I ever recommended that pump was when a mom and dad came in very upset because they had just lost their baby and needed a simple pump to pump off a little engorgement while she tried to dry up her supply. I didn't want them to have to buy anything expensive or more than basic, and hey, its a good pump for losing supply anyway.

I highly recommend the Avent Isis manual pump. It's about $40 and is awesome! and, congrats to your SIL :)

Did the Medela pump, come with a manual pump? Not sure if they all do, but my PIS came with one. Can you just use that (if it came with one) to use in the morning?

I'm glad you got the advice NOT to use it. I used it for the first week back to work and it did nothing for me. I was only pumping about 5 ozs a day. I called the LC and they said that they should not even be allowed to sell them.
