Dude, I have NO IDEA what has happened. 48 hours ago-for the last FIVE MONTHS- I have pumped 22-25 oz a day. Yesterday- I got 8 ounces ALL DAY. Today I only got FOUR.
I am, of course, so upset. Tonight I tried to nurse cate and she got so mad, so I warmed a bottile (pumped) and she drank it right down.
What is causing this!?!?! (i am about to go to the supply sticky) Supply has not been an issue EVER! I am NOT READY TO STOP.
I have had cramps and lots of CM...maybe my period is coming back? I checked my cervix and if it is coming--no time in the next few days,
HELP!!!!
TIA!:ohno::ohno::ohno::ohno::ohno::ohno::ohno::ohn o::ohno::ohno::ohno::ohno:

My first thought was AF. I hope that's it and that your supply rebounds soon. Just keep trying to nurse and pump.

Keep nursing her, she'll increase your supply if you can nurse anytime she'll latch. It could be from a growth spurt, your period, or could you be pregnant?
My dipped pretty good the first af but has stayed good for the subsequent ones. Eat oatmeal if you aren't already. It works quickly for me as a booster.
Hang in there.

so, i guess i'll try to nurse her and then have a bottle handy. she is a fickle eater as it is. AAAAGGGHHHHH!!! i knew my seemingly endless supply was too good to be true. i am drinking ONE beer and will have mother's tea and the mother's milk drops overnightted. i am also
i mean, i am a creature of habit...i swear nothing has changed. you know, even my boobs feel different they aren't as heavy.
thank goodness i work for myself. i will nurse her until late in the day and go to work and pump every two hours or so.

AF could definitely be it. You could take some fenugreek and eat a bunch of oatmeal and some extra sugar and just nurse nurse nurse. Double check that you haven't taken something that can adversely affect supply recently (like sudafed, or various herbs that can be problematic). You should NOT have to quit over this. But it might be a few days until you're back to your normal supply. You can supplement with EBM in the meantime, but only after she has nursed as much as you can manage, and keep up pumping too.
:comfort: You CAN get through this. Keep us posted.

you know what is sooooo upsetting-this is about not to make sense--but a couple of days ago, i was so over pumping on top of it taking foooooorrrevver and a day for cate to nurse (she stops and 'talks' and then falls asleep and then rinse and repeat, you know?) so....i confessed to a friend that i *almost* wished that i had some excuse to quit nursing. well, now i just feel like a JERK! foot in mouth! foot in mouth!

I believe your supply actually starts to dip once you ovulate so, AF could still be a week or more away and you will see a dip. I know I had significantly more cramping with ovulation my first period pp than I usually noticed.

I would say you've either ovulated or are pregnant... fenugreek isn't safe while pregnant, so, if you *COULD* be, you should test before starting. But, certainly up the oatmeal consumption ASAP and make sure you're eating and drinking enough.

I notice a big difference in how much I pump when I eat oatmeal. Maybe try eating a lot of it and drinking lots of water. I hope it gets back to normal soon.

I have a huge supply dip at ovulation and then another one once AF starts. I plan ahead based on this. Drink lots of water and eats lots of oatmeal - you'll make it thru!

yep. stimulate those boobahs to tell them that, even though they may not be working with you right now, they really ARE supposed to be making milk :)

How goes it today? i was going to say ovulation too. keep pumping/nursing. I take fenugreek when i notice a dip in supply or Eden is wanting boobah more than normal (which means dip-city)

Today is a bit better. I have been able to feed her without even getting any of my freezer stash. Thank goodness it's almost the weekend, so I can nurse and nurse her this weekend.
I am still having cramping-I bet you money I o next week and then AF.
I just hope this is temporary. I will never take Bfeeding for granted!!

I wish I had not waited so long to ask my OB for reglan. It has worked great for us and is safe even if you were to be PG.

my supply took a nosedive for a few days and then rebounded after about 3 days of regular nursing. Still haven't had AF, and this was about 2 weeks ago....maybe it's just one of those things?? Hope it works out for you--nurse nurse nurse this weekend!!!

My supply was low during the first couple of AFs (once I regulated around 3 months, AFs stopped affecting it). I don't know if you are ready for another one, but I always love to see girls who had to work hard to get pregnant the first time have an "oops baby". Good luck!
