So, my LO has been sleeping through the night for a week now. The past 2 nights he's been making a little noise around 4:30 but then goes back to sleep (just little noises and when I go in his eyes are closed).

So, if they eat every 3-4 hrs and sleep through the night and go to bed around 9pm, how do you ensure they eat enough? (He's FF by the way) I mean I know he's getting enough - clearly he has nooo trouble gaining weight and has gained about 8 lbs since he was born But, he typically will eat 5-6 oz and he's not always hungry after 3 hrs, more 4 hrs so if he eats every 4 hrs that may mean he only eats 4 times/day (so say 20-24 oz) that just doesn't seem like enough. If he eats more like every 3 hrs he'll get 5 feedings which I think is good.

I know every baby is different, some days they'll eat more, some less... and I know he'll let me know when he's hungry but I still worry.

So just curious for anyone who has or had a baby that slept through the night how they ate during the day? Did they eat more at a feeding? He sometimes will not finish the 6oz and I don't want to force him to have more if he doesn't want it.

Just curious!

My DD has been sleeping through the night since she was about 4 weeks old. I can count on her going 8 hours during the night before she will wake up hungry. During the day she will last 2-3 hours max, so I think she eats more during the day so she can go longer at night. Just follow your lo. As long as he is still gaining weight don't worry. Good Luck, I bet you never thought you would be watching the clock so much. At least I didnt.

I was just going to say that Parker changed her schedule--sleeping and eating about every 2 weeks. So, if you get used to something right now, most likely its goign to change soon. There's a growth spurt in your near future so his pattern/schedule/amounts and times of feedings are going to change. Hang in there.

If he is gaining weight well, having plenty of wet and poopy diapers, dont worry about it. Its enough for HIM.

That's what I keep telling myself...I find it so hard not to worry (can't you tell it's my 1st? LOL) Plenty of wet diapers (heavy wet ones every time I change him) and poop every day!

I wouldn't worry as long as he's gaining weight and all.

Thanks ladies... I will def try not to worry. He's gaining well. He was 5lbs 4oz when he was born (he was 5 weeks early) and he's now at least 13 lbs, so about 8 lbs in 3 months!!! I figured it would start to even out a bit too.

He knows when he is hungry. If he's not fussy and lets you know when he's finished eating, just follow his cues.
