Early / overdue with first baby

Hi girls,

just wondering how many of you were overdue with their first as is traditionally expected?

I was overdue by 9 days. We had an induction set for Friday morning (which I did not want) and I went into labor on my own on Thursday and delivered on Friday morning.

Over 3 weeks early (born at 36w3d) naturally, not induced.

I went in for the induction when she was 9 days late. She was born the next morning so 10 days late total. She may have been even later but I think the doctor had plans for the 3rd and 4th of July so she made sure we had a baby by the 2nd, lol :silly:

I had a scheduled c/s so I don't know whether she would be on time or overdue. I also didn't have labor signs at 39wks+2 when I had her.

Both of mine were born at 38 weeks 3 days. Weird, eh? I almost want to have another one to see if it would happen again. :lol:

Had my girl on her due date exactly.

went into labor the day before my due date with my first. I had my 2nd 2 days before my due date.

My water broke at 36wks 5 days but I also had PTL starting at 31 wks and was off bedrest for 2 days - which is longer than my OB thought I would go.

My water broke 5 weeks early and he is my 1st.

my son was born at 38wks 1 day!, so 13 days early.

My due date was 12/4 and my ds arrived on 12/1.

with cy i was overdue exactly one week...

but they say due dates are give or take a few weeks so i dont consider it really over :) he just wasnt ready :)

Week over, had to be induced.

I was 10 days early but was induced due to rapidly decreasing aminotic fluid

Faith was due on Christmas day and she came on New Years Eve. So 6 days. they offered to induce 8 days before her due date (Dec. 17) but I wanted her to come on her own time. I was so glad I waited. the labor was not too hard and she was there within 7 hours of my contractions starting.

Elliot was exactly one week early but I worked on my feet 4 days a week up until the day I went into labor.

Sam was 3 days early, though they tell me that's not technically "early", it's on time.

I think "early" or "late" pushes beyond a week of your due date.

thanks girls - so no real pattern to make the assumption that first babies are late. that pleases me, i really dont want to go late! but not too early either!

My daughter came exactly on her due date after starting induction 2 days earlier. I probably would not have gone more than a week overdue on my own....

My LO came 16 days late!!:shocker::shocker: I was induced at 42 weeks and after 48 hours I'd only gotten to 3cm so I had a c-section.

Madi was born at 36weeks 1 day. I went into labor naturally.

39 weeks went into labor. She was born the next morning so technically six days before her due date.

I was overdue by less than a week, but my doc induced, so I have no idea how long past my due date I would have gone.

I was 5 days overdue with my daughter when she was born. We would have induced on day 7 (which was st. patricks day) but she ended up coming on her own.

My waters broke at 37 +5, my son was born 8 minutes into the day of the 38th week.
Im hoping a similar thing this time as well, he was good and ready to come...so did:)

M was exactly two weeks early. I went into labor on a night of the full moon, so I blame it on that:silly:

I put overdue because at 40 weeks I had not started to change AT ALL! No dialation/effacing. We chose a c/s because my mom and I have identical Gyn probs and she never did either and ended up with 36 hours of hard labor and STILL no dialation/effacing... and then had to have a c/s exhausted.

I was 6 days overdue with my first. All my others were early though. #2=9 days early, #3=4 days early, #4=3.5 weeks early.

I delivered at 37 w 6 d. so glad it was a surprise and didn't have to wait!
